i am trying to find HP recovery cds to BUY .. (one would think that would be easy since well its more money for HP.. )
for my seagate 1tb barracuda HD that i just found out is a Advanced format HD.. and since my 2009 recovery cds are garbage now i need new recovery cds.. or should i just go spend 100 bucks on a win 7 copy or should i just toss my A6567c HP machine out the window and buy some other brand... im quite livid.. ive searched every spot you can look ive looked up every page one can look .. or am i just unlucky and they dont make new recovery cds for my machine and im stuck with a paper weight now ?
any direct link by some HP admin would be appreciated..

Yes, it's a serious reply. Did you actually read the information at the link I posted? Especially the last sentence? The fact that it appeared when you updated to iOS 8 has no bearing on the validity of the article. It is not specific to any version.

Help before I throw this printer out of the window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just purchased a Deskjet 2540 all in one printer - I will only ever need to print boarding passes etc. -
this looked so good on Amazon ideal for my iPad and said how easy to set up!!! In my dreams - I have now spent 10 hours
Trying to set this up and last night was close to cracking:-
I am setting this by wirless. I have the password and the printer showing on my iPad.
Each time I try and load the softwear I am told an unexpected error has occurred please try again later - I
Have tried and tried to no avail. Apple staff have said I do not need this softwear????????
The network test results say:-
1 check the printer network name ssid matches your wireless router network name ssid exactly!!!!!
2 if they do not match exactly, run the wireless setup from the printer software to configure your hp printer!!!!!
But no where can I find how to do this and sorry I really do not understand what this means.
Reading Amazon some people have set up in 15 min!!!!
The cost of bringing in an expert to set this up is worth more than the printer cost!!!!!!

I hope this reply finds you with the printer not thrown out of the Window. Regarding the Deskjet 2540 setup to work with the iPad, I would like to help.
There are two ways that you can print from the iPad to the 2540. The first, Wireless Direct. Wireless Direct is a network that the printer broadcasts and the iPad would connect to it. This method will leave the iPad with no other network access while connected.
Second, and more functional, is having the printer connected to the same network that the iPad is connected too.
In order to setup this connection, follow the steps outlined below;
Turn Wireless Direct on from the front panel button on the printer. (number 4).
Connect the iPad to the printer network, Settings> Network> HP-Print-2540.
Open Safari and type this I.P address into the address bar, 192.168.223.1 and hit Enter.
Go to Network or Wireless and then Wireless Setup Wizard.
Select your network and enter the needed information.
Once connected, the Wireless light should be solid, connect the iPad back to your network. To print, open a document, hit the Share button (), and if an option to print is available you will be able to select the print option.

If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management

Would an Adobe Staff Person please read this?

I'm wondering why Adobe has never fixed a problem that has been frustrating to me and other users for years. If you try to use the Upload button in the Files panel to upload a file to your website you frequently get a Waiting for Server message and the upload often times out.
If I do the identical task at the same time in Transmit, the file uploads in a few seconds.
I've drawn attention to this problem several times, both in this forum and by posting Bug Reports to Adobe.
So far, year after year, the problem has not been fixed.
If there's a staff person who reads this, would you please find out whether or not this defect is ever going to be fixed?

I sent a bug report to Adobe and, to my suprise, got a reply. But the workaround is disappointing. It basically says "wait longer".
We would like to let you know that we are aware of this issue and have an internal bug # 3561917 for this. We are working to prioritize it for fixing.
Please try the steps mentioned below:
1.       Launch Dreamweaver CC
2.       Go to menu “Dreamweaver -> Preferences…” to open the “Preferences” dialog
3.       Go to “Site” category in “Preferences” dialog
4.       Increase the value of “FTP time out” from 30 seconds to a higher value, let us say 180 seconds
5.       Click “Apply” and the “Close”.
Now you can try out your FTP scenarios.

Logicboard replacement came with new serial that stops me from connecting w iMessage and FaceTime. Applecare ran out and now I am sure it is this issue... How can I get apple to honor the serial mess up?

The story is that I have an imac i7 that was still under Applecare when the logicboard coraked.
I brought it in for repair and got it back. Somehow imessage and facetime would never connect anymore and come up with connection errors yet everything else worked. I tried all tens or hundreds of suggestions over hte last few months and nothing worked.
So I resorted to a clean hard drive repartitioning and install of Mountain Lion.
To my surprise: it sill did not work.
That;s when I found an obscure post that I am quite certain is the problem: the poster had the exact some symptoms I had and NOTHING worked. Hrs of phone support etc. Until it dawned on him that he had a logic board replacement after which the issue occurred. He found that his serial was no longer the same as the original item and came up as invalid on the apple website and was not listed in the "About" of his iMac.
I immediately recognized the recent support symptom and motherboard replacement and checked the rest. And behold it is all exactly as he said. He had to bring it back to the service center and they put the original serial back in and everything worked again.
Here is my problem: months of troubleshooting have passed and my iMac went out of Applecare warranty. Support does not warrant an exception for the serial online and the service center wants to get paid I am not wealthy. This computer is my life and I need them to change the serial back to what it was when I purchased the machine. Can someone suggest how I get help. Apple is acting like M-soft in this respect.

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

yes I have an upgraded Iphoto 11 from 9.4.3 ........ unfortunately .... no it didn't solve the problem. Of course my illiteracy is no help ..... but I did as you suggested and nothing changed at all. When I highlight a photo I am unable to minimize it and despite changing folders (ie:photos to events) all that happens is that the events folder opens behind the opened photo. The only solution is to go to "force quit" even though there is no sign to say "iphoto is not responding". and start again ..... very frustrating. Appreciate any suggestion you have ...

A/V not working...am ready to throw this modem out of the window

got a Zoom 5560 Ethernet modem/router for my new iMac Intel core duo with built in iSight as the modem i ran on my old imac is not supported (USB OneTouch 330).
I have done all i can as found in this forum:
Mac OS X Firewall is off
Quicktime streaming to 1.5 mbps
iChat video to none (and also tried various settings)
Ports open in NAT in Zoom modem/router (4099, 5190, 5193, 5297, 5298)
Why can't i video chat via iChat, the old USB modem worked out of the box, but obvioulsy i can't use this unsupported device any more and my old iMac is no longer with me in this world.

Okay, my biggest problem is that I'm in Austria with my iMac G5 and my mum is in England with her new iMac G5 intel duo core, so i'm trying to set her Zoom X3 up via telephone with my mum who is 65, yeah so thats the deal!

Mobile sync not detecting collections, would like to know way to fix this and what is going on

up to date LR 5.6, windows 7 64 bit
Ipad Air 128gb, latest download of LR mobil
despite syncing collections, they aren't picked up by LRM
I have 9 smart collections and these I'd like to sync online, when I right click smart collections I choose "Create Collection"
I don't check "include selected photos" as I want them all
I don't click "Make new virtual copies" as I don't want to double up my image count
I don't click "Make as target collection" because I don't know what that is
I click "Sync with Lightroom Mobile" and then click
"Create"
Then, I get the double arrow icon in the collection which lists the name as Collection unless I change it, then I click "Create"
Then...nothing happens on the ipad, I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times

While upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.2 something went wrong and came up with the message "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred [1015]." Now it will not start at all. It just stays on screen with USB and the iTune picture. What can I do to get it going again. I only tried to upgrade because I was prompted to up-grade and now I am helpless. I did a backup before starting the upgrade. The error message did not tell what to do next. Any help is very much appreciated.

carrier .
Updating the operating system locks it back to that original carrier

I'm about to chunk this thing out of the window.

I have never in my life owned a peice of apple products. I decided 2 months ago to purchase a 30gb Ipod for somewhere around $300 in order to provide me with music for my office. Well this has been the biggest waste of money in my life and I cannot get over the fact that this f**kin thing wont work. I have two computers (one at work, and one at home). My computer at home is my main linked computer, I have all my music on that machine and that is where I update my Ipod. Everything works fine there and has since the day I got it.
The machine at work I just want to listen to the music on my ipod and this f**kin crap wont work. I called Apple 2 months ago when I first got it and all of their suggestions were failures. (do they even know what they are doing?) This is what has/is happening in the order in which it happened.
1. I reformatted my computer.
2. I installed itunes,quicktime, and ipod updater from the disc that came with my ipod (followed every instruction)
3. restarted the machine per the request of the install.
4. plugged in my ipod and ran the updater.
5. itunes launched and there was no ipod recognized, but it was in my disc management list.
6. i had to change the drive letter... i choose I:\
7. Itunes now recognized my ipod and displayed the songs on the ipod, only in grey and i couldnt play them...????
8. I ejected the ipod and restarted my machine.
9. plugged in ipod, itunes launched and showed the same thing as before - all of my music was in grey and inactive.
10. I went to my computer, now the ipod was not there.
11. went to disk management, and the ipod was not there.
This is the craziest f**kin thing ive ever seen and no one can give us an answer for it. It makes no sense that my machine at home it works fine (so no problem with the ipod software), yet the comp at work is not working...
ive tested, reset and diagnosed all of the usb drives on my machine, they are all fine. this computer is a workhorse and has the same exact OS with the same updates as the one at home....
WHAT IS THE DEAL APPLE??????
I was actually thinking about purchasing a G5 to replace my home pc for my webwork.... well with mass problems like these and absolutely no help from the manufacturer.... i think ill just stick with my PC this is absolutely rediculous.... and if i call you, you want to charge me something like $30 an hour to help me when i already spent $300 on the f**kin paperweight in front of me..

It does pay to be nice sometimes. Apple employees do occasionally post on the boards, but I doubt that they monitor every last thread. And yes, they do charge for tech support, but it is not $30 an hour. It's $49 for one problem, or $59 for the Applecare plan. Which, to tell the truth, really isn't the worst thing to purchase for the iPod.
Now, from reading your post, it looks as though you want to listen to the music that's on your iPod through a computer with an iTunes program on it that your iPod is not linked to.
Do this:
Connect your iPod.
Click Edit > Preferenes
Click the iPod tab
Select "manually manage songs and playlists"
Click OK
Your iTunes will say "updating iPod Do Not Disconnect" at the top
Wait for it to say iPod Update is complete
Click on your Library in the source list
Click on your iPod in the source list
Are the songs lit up now?

What version of IOS are you running?
To delete a song simply swipe from right to left and an option to delete will pop up.
