Would anyone else be up for allowing two thumbs to be scanned for touch id?

I often swap the hand I use to pick up my phone so would like it if I could scan with my right and left thumb. Would anyone else use this?

Note too from that article, you can get by scanning something other than a fingerprint As long as it has a stable and identifiable pattern that works with the iOS pattern recognition algorithm, it seems to work.
(Apple did not mention that either - surely knowing full well people would "experiment" on their own anyway).

• Would anyone else like to see an auto-hiding Dock in full-screen mode?

Would anyone else like to see an auto-hiding Dock in full-screen mode?

Well, it doesn't work consistently here. I have Dock Hiding on. When a screen does not contain a full screen app, it works fine. Moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen (where I have the dock) pops up the dock as expected. If the screen has a full screen app in place (usually Mail or Safari), the behaviour is very inconsistent. Moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen, waving it back and forth, up and down, with the odd click, will bring up the dock in maybe 10 to 15% of attempts. Take the app out of full screen, and it works perfectly. Put it back in full screen, stops working. This is a new MacBook Pro with 10.7.1
Any ideas welcome. Meanwhile, Im getting used to the four finger squeeze to bring up the Launcher.

• Anyone else buy "Themes for iWeb" in App Store?

Ok, I sent in my review a second time and this time it seems to have been published. I just cannot get the application to work, but the developer has emailed me and repeated the instructions. I followed them and it still doesn't work in Lion.
If anyone else bought this app from the Mac App Store, please post here, especially if you succeeded in getting it to work.
I have bought themes before off the web, and the download was easy. Just click on the installer pkg and it gets set up in iweb and the themes appear.
But the installation system for "Themes for iweb" is different.
I like a couple of them, so I hope I can get it to work. If I were really expert I could just relax and figure the developers need to fix things, but my level of understanding is such I still have to understand I possibly screwed up the process. Hope I can get it to work one way or the other.

• Anyone else think 15minutes for checking email is too long?

Not sure why the shortest time period to check new email is every 15 minutes. Would be very helpful to have the option to check every 5minutes. This might just be a carry over from the iphone settings geared for the Edge network and ATT not wanting a lower number. But since the touch is strictly wi-fi we should be able to have it automatically check at any time interval.
And yes, i did send feedback to Apple on this
lenn

It was put at 15 minutes because iPhone users would seldom have to use the EDGE network to grab email. So if mail updated every minute, that's a lot of minutes (remember, phone charges are paid by the minute, even if you use it for only 2 seconds) getting charged.
You only think this is useful because you are constantly on Wi-Fi, in fact, you can ONLY get mail through Wi-Fi.
Manually checking ust seems more efficient in this case, that way if i get new ones when I conveniently check, it would be the same as it checking it after several checks have gone through.
If you check your mail that often, consider an iPhone?

Sorry I disagree with you. I think the manual and I quite agree about how undo retention tuning works and how it is related to autoextend. Please explain your point?According to the manual that sb92075 pointed you to, when auto undo retention applies (my emphasis):

+If the undo tablespace is fixed size, the database dynamically tunes the undo retention period for the best possible retention for that tablespace size and the current system load. This best possible retention time is typically significantly greater than the duration of the longest-running active query.+

So when you had fixed sized files, Oracle increased the retention time significantly more than you expected.

If the undo tablespace is configured with the AUTOEXTEND option, the database dynamically tunes the undo retention period to be somewhat longer than the longest-running active query on the system.

When you changed one file to autoextend, Oracle dropped back to following the longest running query - which is what you had previously been expecting.

• Does anyone else think it is stupid that the 2nd gen of iPod touch can't update to even 4.3? Cuz none of the apps work anymore and i don't have $300 to throw down for a new one.

Yeah, I have been getting tons of updates for my apps, but since my iPod touch can only go to software 4.2.1 all of my apps have slowed down and crash, freeze, and don't get all the new things available on the other software versions. It is incredibly frustrating and kind of stupid to phase out the owners who have the older models that work just fine.

The 2G was introduced 4 1/2 years ago. That is old in electronics standards. It does not have the hardware to support a higher iOS.

What is the deal? I have just tried to buy a song and cannot because the I-store canont access my account. I have had to reset my account three times. Would anyone else like to be able to use ONE APPLE ID for all our computers and devices? Just forget the purchase...

I already quoted the minimum requirements, look in the post before yours.
You will have to upgrade your Mac to at least 10.7.5, upgrades are not free, you buy them from the App Store. Mountain Lion is the best but your Mac must be compatible.
Here is a list of compatible machines.
Also note that some older apps (Office 2004, Appleworks) will not run on Mountain Lion.

• After the ios7 update I have been unable to open the i-tunes store on my i-phone5, it basically flashes up for two seconds and then closes itself down, anyone else had anything similar and no a fix?

Since updating to ios7.0.2 on my i-phone5 I have been unable to open the i-tunes store app, basically it just opens for a second or two then shuts itself down, I've tried a soft reset, turning on and off, closing down all running apps but nothing seems to work, anyone else had the same problem and no how to fix it?

Hey there Fistycuff,
It sounds like iTunes launches for a split second, then quits unexpectedly.
I would recommend a few things for this issue. First, close all the running apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that, sign out of your iTunes account in Settings > iTunes and App stores, and restart the phone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities

• Has anyone else noticed that on CC the pentool does not allow you to create an open path? When I try to make two open paths(eg; two separate lines), the pentool connects them automatically. Also it does not automatically close a path. This is both a probl

This is a big headache having the pentool respond this way. Does anyone else have this problem? I have also installed CC 2014 on my home computer and have the same problem. so it seems to be a problem with the program.

Hi Doug,
I'm sure I did not notice a difference in Esc key behavior simply because I have never tried to use the Esc key to stop the Pen Tool from picking up the current path.
I just tested with all these versions of Photoshop: 6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS6, CC 14.x, and CC (2014) on my PC workstation running Windows 8.1.
Observations:
Photoshop versions 6.0, CS5, and CS6 DO terminate the creation of the current path at the current point upon pressing the Esc key. However, Photoshop versions CS2, CS3, CS4, CC 14.x, and CC (2014). do not terminate the creation of the path upon pressing Esc, and will continue the path with another pen click. Photoshop CC 14.x and CC (2014) may make it SEEM like the path creation is terminated because they hide the points, but the next click continues the path and causes all the points to reappear.
In every case holding the control key down (to temporarily choose the Direct Selection Tool) and clicking off the current path terminates the creation with an open path and allows the creation of another separate path.
No version closes the path (made the path into a closed shape) upon pressing Esc. The only way I know to close a path is to bring the cursor back to the starting point, watch for a little o to appear next to the cursor, then click the mouse.
With Photoshop 6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, and CS5 the response of the Pen Tool was instantaneous. There was a definite slowdown / sluggishness in Photoshop CS6 and CC 14.x, which is now corrected in Photoshop CC (2014), which is again instantly responsive.
The only other thing I can think of regarding closing a path might be that when using the Pen Tool there are choices in the Options Bar about whether you're creating a shape or a path. Are you ensuring you have that set the same way as you have had it set in the past?

Judging by the number of other threads on this, yes many people have been having Yahoo mail issues with push, and it appears to be on Yahoo's side, not Apple's.
