Would anyone with a Helix I5 or I7 be kind enough to run Geekbench

I was wondering if any Helix owner (I5 or I7) would be willing to run the Geekbench performance benchmark, using the Performance Power plan so we can see how it fares.
Home-Geekbench Browser
Ideally run it once with the tablet docked and once standalone so we can see how much difference the keyboard dock makes in allowing more performance.
We can then see how it fares with the new Haswell tablets

Here you are. This is for the i7, 8GB, 3G version.
Laptop mode; AC power; high performance power profile: 2361/4860 http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/411918

Both tests done with default BIOS cooling profile.
It's on the same level as the Haswell processors. IMHO it's expected. Haswell isn't really faster than Ivy Bridge, the main improvement is power consumption.

My Iphone 5 crashed yesterday, when i try to reboot it it comes up with the apple symbol but then some kind of script runs down from the top of the screen, then after a while it turns off again. Also sometimes it just has a white screen with pink lines

I have also had the screen have two vertical white blocks on a black background. I have tried rebooting it and restoring it but it has not worked. I have managed to get it to turn on once briely but then it crashed again. I have had it since febuary and have recently ungraded to IOS7.

Went to restore it and it can't restore, got error 2002.
This is just great.

I have lost my Silverfast scanning software since downloading Lion. Lion is proving a nightmare - particularly as I was originally told it would work with Silverfast. I also cannot use my Epson 2100 printer. Not a very pro ufgrade Apple. Anyone help?

Can not use Silverfast scanning technology or my Epson 2100 Colour Stylus printer since upgrading to Mac OS X Lion. I had been assured that Silverfast would work and had no idea the printer would become redundent! Not Good information from Apple!! Anyone out there help?

The culprit is Silverfast.
The company went as far as telling owners and new customers back in March that their software would work with Lion ("buy Silverfast version 6.6 now, and get a free upgrade to Version 8 when it we release it in late August!"). Days after Lion came out, the German software maker issued a statement that their current version is NOT compatible with Lion (knocking all of their Mac customers out of the scanning business until the newer, functional Silverfast version is ready.)
On the company's owners-only discussion groups, Mac customers have expressed outrage that manufacturer Lasersoft was not clearer on this meltdown in the making. Users have either had to re-install Snow Leopard, stop scanning for the next several weeks, or buy, install and learn different scanning software.
Lasersoft has even "re-written history"; pulling earlier press coverage (which claimed their software would work with Lion) and "clarifying" that the Version 8 software (which they say will work with Lion) will be available for purchase sometime next month. The moderator has actually censored or deleted entries offering the name of rival VueSoft (which is Lion compatible), and has removed posts from dissatisfied customers.
Lasersoft discussion groups are amusingly Orwellian right now, with counter accusations hurled at customers who are just trying to get their software to work. Company spokesmen are issuing clumsily-worded taunts instead of apologies or simple damage control language. UPDATE: the company has now removed some of their own more uncaring responses to users, but there is still some funny reading there.
The whole episode begs the question of what Lasersoft was doing between spring and fall of this year when they should have been preparing a more seamless transition to Lion. New customers who purchased the pricey Silverfast software in March are doubly out of luck-- the “free upgrade” to Lion-compatible version 8 only applies to purchases made after June first.

I am guessing he uses Trapcode Particular for the meteor smoke trail.
But I cannot figure out, no matter how much tweaking and experimenting, how he got a red glow throughout the smoke
and the sheer realism of the smoke. Would anyone please help me figure it out step by step?

It's not that hard if you think multiple layers. I'd say a minimum of 5
Background
Black particles
Red Particles
Roto of actor
Flair
The project could easily require twice that f you start adding in the fine smoke and color correction.
The higher the number of particles and the smaller they are the more realistic the smoke. It just takes some tweaking and a bunch of experimentation with the physics. Don't expect to have someone give you a single setting for particular that will duplicate this effect on a single layer. It just isn't going to happen.

movie clip symbol and then flipping that square over with the 3d
rotation tool and then over and over. but i'm having to draw other
squares on other layers to make up the rest of the square as it
gets created. is this the right way to do it? what would be the

I want to work on a particular project at home but need it converted I do not own CS4 or know of anyone with it to help me. Basically your player is telling you that you need to install the codecs that will play the compressed data within the AVI file.
AVI is a legacy file container in which the tracks of data are interleaved to maintain synchronization. This data can be encoded using many different audio and video codecs. Your problem is to determine which codecs you need for the player you are trying to use and install them if they are available. Failing that, your will either have to play the files in a different player which has the codec support your require built into the app or convert the content to a compression format that is natively compatible with the player you wish to use.
Since you have not stated what platform, operating system, and particular player you are targeting for playback, it is difficult to provide precise instructions for fixing your specific problem at this point. Suggest you try alternative players compatible with your system and platform to see if they will play the files, use a dedicated media information utility to determine the codecs needed for playback, or post a sample file for analysis.

Well, it doesn't work consistently here. I have Dock Hiding on. When a screen does not contain a full screen app, it works fine. Moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen (where I have the dock) pops up the dock as expected. If the screen has a full screen app in place (usually Mail or Safari), the behaviour is very inconsistent. Moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen, waving it back and forth, up and down, with the odd click, will bring up the dock in maybe 10 to 15% of attempts. Take the app out of full screen, and it works perfectly. Put it back in full screen, stops working. This is a new MacBook Pro with 10.7.1

I'm still dealing with this issue through Apple. Some time after I posted this, I contacted Apple again. They did start a case up for me, as I was experiencing the same behavior on two different machines, with two different versions of Windows.
So far it remains unsolved. I've logged iClouds for Windows on my desktop, which is brand new, then logged for awhile after completely uninstalling Norton Security Suite, depending on the Microsoft security for some time, and finally logged after I uninstalled iCloud for Windows, restarted, installed a clean download, and connected using a completely different test account, which Apple set up for me. None of this made any difference. Looking at the logs, it seems every 10 minutes, iCloudServices.exe creates a new TCP connection to confirm I'm using less than 5GB on iCloud, (which I am by a good margin, using less than 2GB), it seems this connection is not closed, and when the next iteration rolls around 10 minutes later, a new TCP connection is created. I come very close to having 6 TCP connections created per hour, until I restart my computer. This works out to... 6 x 24 = 144/day.
Perhaps the article you posted will shed some further light on this. I'm thinking seeing the state of the connection through netstats, at the least, could help.
For the last week, I've been putting a hold on further logging, as Apple wants me to create a new user account on one of my computers, install iCloud for Windows there, and log it running in the other account. This however basically means I cannot use my computer for a fair number of hours, and I've been busy enough with work the past week that I haven't the time or energy to afford to set this up and run it. I've had need of my computers too much for the past week.
