Would like to obtain Audition 1.5 version for transfer of LP"S to CD"S.

Would like to obtain ADOBE AUDITION 1.5 version for transfer of LP's to CD's. Have over 200 classical LP's, are living in a retirement village and no place to store those LP's. Can some one out there please help???

Hi Fred,
quite a few here have 1.5's, but we can not legally sell them because our
later versions are upgrades and most here also need to keep them installed
and running because we may need to re-open projects made in them.
Adobe Audition is an excellent tool for what you want to do, but it is not
the only tool for it on the market and it is Adobes business choice - quite
a few here disagree in it, but we are just users/customers - not to cater
for "household restoration". They have left that market niche to Magix Audio
Restoration Suite and Goldwave.
In my opinion, and it is a skilled opinion, what matters in making a
transfer of vinyl is to get a good cartridge on a good tonearm on a good
grammophone deck and a good riaa preamp and then make a clean, unclipped,
recording via a good sound card of a well cleaned record.
I then use "fix single click" functionality to handle the few large clicks,
and - because I happen to have a Bruel & Kjaer test record that I got at an
audio demonstration 30 years ago - correct the known frequency response
aberrations of the actual cartridge and the actual riaa preamp,
In my professional opinion any further processing tends to cause a loss of
perceived quality, you can not treat ""crackle"" without also loosing some
of the sound of the violin and brass transients fare no better. Now that I
have A3 there are phase correction things that I might want to try because
A3 offers at least one correction that deals with what may have gone wrong
in the original recording. However please DO understand and remember that it
is better not to process than to process incorrectly or inadequately .... do
no harm.
Also using audio software properly actually takes time to learn. It appears
that what you need is a household type software implement, Adobe have made
the business choice of not currently offering such. Two such tools
suggested, there are qute many other ways to do the same in, including
simply recording with Audiograbber and editing with the sound editor that
comes with some CD burning software and doing nothing about any clicks, just
allow them the headroom they need to remain unclipped for easy treatment
later.
