just setup logmein on my windows 7 and connected from my touchpad via www.logmein.com seems to work except for the typical problem of webos intercepting taps and drags thinking I want to zoom or scroll the screen image rather than pass the tap/drag to the website why not provide option where the taps, zooms and drags are passed through when button down? also downloaded VNC CLIENT from catalog but not tried yet.... Any experience anyone?

That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with).

Not sure what they offer in Canada, but I use Google Voice. It provides a phone number that will ring through to your phone (or multiple phones if you want). There is a free app you can use to place calls so they appear from your Google Voice # instead of your 'real' number.
I use the Google # for business calls/texts and only use "my" number for personal stuff. Google gives you control over things like call screening and allows you te set timers for when it is permitted to ring through to your normal number, which is great for business calls. If I'm not on call, I keep the timer set to shut it down except during business hours.
Might be worth looking into.

When using the EQ on the Zen Touch (and other Creative Labs players) it is possible to raise the volume of a given frequency upto +2db, however when one does this, the additional 2db may cause the audio to clip. Normally equalizers have an AGC (automatic gain control) or master volume control that would drop the volume by the same amount that the EQ had raised it by thus preventing clipping. For example, if you raise the volume of the 00hz frequency by +2db to increase the bass, the AGC would drop the preamp volume -2db to prevent clipping in the 00hz frequency. I would like to see Creative add this feature so that a user does not have to drop the gain of their MP3 files by -2db before uploading them inorder to ensure that there will be no clipping when using the EQ.Message Edited by mfowler on 03-08-2005 07:29 AM

Now that Dataviz discontinued MacLink Deluxe, there are no good apps to convert old WriteNow (one of the early Mac word processers) into a modern format. Sure MS office "kind of" works, but I would defenitely buy an app that only converted (similar to MacLink) old WriteNow 3 and 4 documents into either rtf or doc formats that can be used today.
Sorry if this is not the place to post such a thing.
MacLink was good, but had way to many complicated, bloated options. It would be nice just to have a simple app to convert this old format. Maybe alternative apps of this kind could then be purchased to convert more of the file formats that MacLink converted. I think you would sell more of an app that just converted one older file format, however.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated. There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

Apple techs/developers don't monitor these fora officially, we are just fellow users here.
You are not alone in wanting various apps for AppleTV - I have mixed feelings and suspect there are some difficulties getting rights/apps for all countries which may be aprt of the issue.
You may know you can 'Airplay' some internet media from iPhones/iPads/current Macs, but even then some iPhone apps block sending the video to AppleTV due to licensing restrictions

How do I get the remote control app to work for a Sony HDD Hi Res audio player?

Can't get the iPhone remote control app to work for my HDD Hi Res Audio player. The app can "find" the player and I can turn on the power with the app but then can't get it to go to my music - can only use the "demo" tool with the demo info. What am I doing wrong?

how many other people would like to see a "GarageBand-esque" skin/gui for logic express/pro???
i use all three apps a lot, and the main thing i really enjoy about GarageBand is the simple single window interface.
i would like to see apple make the option of having a single window skin for logic.

The good thing about the Logic GUI, how grey and dull it may look, is that you don´t focus on it. It is pleasant to your eyes--and mind.
Garageband is for fun. If Logic should have a lift, I think inspiration should come from Final Cut. An app that initially was developed maybe 10 years later than Logic.
Problem with Logic is that it has been on the run for such a long time.
Quite a few menus haven´t changed in almost 15 years, well 10, then.
(Look at the much loved/hated environment)
Can´t help compare to SX, that had a completely new GUI, with the switch from Vst to SX. At a glance it is much more elegant than Logic.-And many features are superior to Logic--But, as your arrangement in SX grows, your screen will be cluttered--In a mess...all the bells and whistles.
And Logic remains cleaner in it´s dullness.
But, I´m very much annoyed with the GUI of a few Logic instruments.
The worst is Sculpture. Well, the GUI may be fancy enough, but do you have to use a magnifying glass to watch? It is just as bad as Reason!
I remember doing a post about upgrading graphic cards (I have 64 mb) and was adviced: No use, you will not benefit from upgrading, if you primarly use Logic....So Logic has a poor resolution or what? I don´t know, Tell me.

I have a new Mac book Pro and I would like to 'see and hear' the Audio and video on my television. My tv has 2 audio phono RCA jacks on the side and 1 video RCA jack on the side. It also has a s-video as well on the side (I have never used s-video.) My Mac Book Pro came with a DVI to VGA little cable adapter but how do I use this to get to my TV inputs? Do I have to buy from Apple, (or somewhere else), that cable called DVI to Video Adapter? but then that is only for the video? How do I get the audio out? From the headphone socket? And if this is the only way why hasn't Apple made their DVI out socket a dual purpose output ie: Video AND audio, like the mini DVI for the G4 powerbooks? Please help. If anyone has also come across this problem. I want to see my timeline in FCP on the TV before I put it to tape. Thanks.

You need a DVI or VGA to svideo adapter. They aren't cheap.

Because DVI carries only video. Apple is using a new video card in the MBP with different abilities.

I have added a new email address but kept my Id, but I get busy when trying from iPhone to iPad as they are clashing. Like find my iPhone app hence trying to keep them all on one account
