I've been using Iphoto as a primary download program for years. As of today, when I click a thumbnail to open the photo, I get a black screen with an exclamation mark on some shots. Also, these shots can't be dragged into Adobe Bridge. Would love help!

I use Iphoto as my primary download tool, then drag images into Adobe Bridge. Just today, when I tried to open a photo by clicking a thumbnail, all I got was an image of an exclamation mark and I couldn't drag the shot either. These are images I've successfully opened and dragged before. I would love guidance from anyone who knows a fix for this. Thanks! John

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto?
As Larry says, your workflow doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you're using iPhoto only for downloading then you're best off using Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) and just keep the whole database element out if it. If you're using iPhoto also to organise, then what are you using Bridge for? Anything you do in Bridge - or Photoshop - is unavailable in iPhoto if you work this way.

Would love help adding wired iMac to Airport Extreme.

Hello. I have found answers to many questions on this board, but I finally have to ask one myself.
I know that it is possible to have two macs (iMac and MacBook Pro) connect to the Airport Extreme, one wirelessly and one wired (via one of the LAN outputs). I currently have both connecting wirelessly. Everything works great, but since going wireless the functionality of my trading website has deteriorated. It’s not allowing me to connect to real time quotes and charts. They tell me I need a wired connection. Not sure I believe them because it did work for awhile, but…
So I want to set up my iMac to be wired. I’m reasonably sure of the first step - I need an ethernet cable to connect the iMac to one of the Airport Extreme’s LAN ports. I assume there is more to it than this, but I’m unsure of the next step. I expect that there might be some reconfiguring of the Airport Extreme, but maybe not. For the wired iMac, would I turn AirPort off and connect as I used to (via PPPoE) before going to a wireless connection?
I have the Airport Extreme connected to a Spreadstream 5100 DSL modem through AT&T.

I feel that you just have to know Jenna was cold, lacked any interest in my issue, and even sarcastic at times which I found extremely unprofessional. I just had concerns about buying the iphone 6 and she in no way eased those concerns or gave proper explaining, so perhaps she needs more training. Not a good way to sell your company or product, that's for sure. As to your statement "i got the message the first time", my two posts are about 2 unrelated items in your OP. It is NOT me posting the same information twice. The first was about the availability of your receipt and the 2nd was about your claim you thought you were replying in private to Verizon and you should read a bit more closely next time if the email you got led you to believe that. Seeing your reply to me, I can certainly understand your need to do so. I'm sorry if you think me trying to keep your personal information private and not being spread needlessly across the web seems rude.

I have a slide/show interlaced with some video clips.
I have Mac OS X 10.8.5
3.4 Ghz, 32 GB ram
Profject settings : HD1080i, 29.97 frames per second
Fileds, upper filed first
Capture Fomat HDV
Video Render : Maximum bit dpth and Oprimize stills checked
Image sizes in project: 3264 x 4928, Filke size 8.5mb
Movies are .mov, 720 x 480, 29.97 frame rate
Overall project is about 5 minutes long
I read through some posts, and just totally confused and bummed right now. My movie seems to play fine on the MAC until I burn it, with others, on a DVD. (I create seperate movies and then combine into a DVD with chapters). Each movie is about 1.2 gB , but when they are all added to one project and set to burn, it says it only needs 1.5GB of space (1/4 of whats expected)
Is ther anything I can do to not make my DVD look like a 5th grade project. My pictures alone are so crsip and beautiful, and just get trashed with the DVD creation.

I just deleted what I had written previously in this particular space. I had a misread on what you did (SD) and what you plan to do (HD).
The suggested workflow is going to change in view of the different source, the .m2ts files. Are these 1920 x 1080 interlaced or progressive @ 29.97 frames per second?
If 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second, then the project preset should be set for
NTSC
AVCHD
Full HD1080i30
If 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 progressive frames per second, then the project preset should be set for
NTSC
DSLR
1080p
DSLR 1080p30 @ 29.97
When you go to resize your photos, resize them to 1920 x 1080 16:9.
Publish+Share/Disc/DVD disc with preset = NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD. That is going to be 720 x 480 16:9.
or
Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD disc (DVD) with preset = H.264 1920 x 1080i NTSC Dolby (more later on that)
The typical outcome is AVCHD DVD cannot be played on DVD player, whereas the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc can.
However, a recent report by a Premiere Elements user with a $2000 Panasonic DVD Recorder/Player seems to suggest that at least she could playback AVCHD DVD on that player which is not a Blu-ray player. More on that another time.

A 15" mid-2009 MBP RAM specifications are: 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
As has been pointed out, OWC is an excellent source for Mac compatible RAM. Crucial is another first rate source for Mac RAM. RAM from either vendor will work just as well as any purchased from Apple with the bonus of being less expensive and having a lifetime guarantee.

It looks like you may need a mini-displayport to Displayport cable. You can also try holding the option key while clicking on "scaled" to see if the option you need comes up.

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

Flash player will not work on my computer, would love advice

I have windows vista. When I visit a web page that requires flash, it instructs me to download it (even though I'm sure I have it ialready...). I do so, it says it has downloaded successfully but I still cannot view the website. I have uninstalled my current version of flash and reinstalled the latest version numerous times. It even shows up in my list of programs. But each time I visit a site that uses it, it tells me I need flash to view it. Very frustrating. And suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Going through the feedback and support pages will be a waste of your time. Apple won't respond to feedback, and support can't do anything regarding product suggestions, particularly not from a company with an existing product they wish to sell. The only attention you might get from Apple would be possible interest in selling your product through the Apple Stores, and I don't know how Apple chooses the third-party products they sell. All I could suggest would be writing to Apple's corporate headquarters:

Would love to be able to change the Standby settings.

I would love to be able to change the Standby settings on my itouch. Particularly when I have my itouch plugged into a charging unit or computer. I would like the standby to not turn off my itouch screen when it has external power. Is there a way to do this?

Well, hopefully a developer can help and update the device to allow us to do just that. Perhaps one can tell us if they might consider working on just such an option. I mean seriously, if it's plugged in I want an option as to whether the screen should go off or not on me. I don't think it's an unreasonable request and it's probably not that hard to implement. I'm not a developer however, so how should I know.
Sorry for not referring to the device correctly (Julian), but I don't really care what it's called. I just want it to work better. I did however refer to it closely enough that you knew what I was talking about.

I would appreciate if anyone could give me some solution to the below problem.
There are two tables one is master and the other is detail.
Master Table - grade_master
grade_code varchar2(5)
customer_cd varchar2(5)
Detail Table - grade_detail
grade_code varchar2(5)
element_cd varchar2(2)
min_value number(7,3)
max_value number(7,3)
Now in one of the transaction entry, i need to show the LOV based on grade master table and grade detail table. My client wants to display grade code and customer code in LOV and when the user scrolls through the record in LOV based on the record it should display or popup the details of it i.e element code, minimum value and maximum value. The client gave me the example of windows (Start - Programs - and in programs when we scroll up and down it pertaining records are show on the right side based on the selection we made or he wants to show as tool tip). Please note for one grade there can be more than one record that is the reason I have created detail table for grade.
I hope my explaination regarding my problem is ok.
Please suggest me or give me some solution to solve the problem and fulfill my client.

Actually my cleint wants to see the element detail i.e. (Element code,min value,max value), the moment the record is highlighted or the cursor scrolls to that record in LOV (master lov - grade code,customer code). Something similar to master-detail entry form.
The best example to understand is department and employee table. Let assume we create a block based on dept table in tabular form and another block based on employee table in tabular form and then we make relation between this on dept_cd. So when we run the form, as the we scroll the department record(master form) accrodingly the detail record changes i.e. data from employee for that dept. He wants this sort of help or LOV

You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Look though other Apple Mail folders like the junk mail and delete the mail that is in there. Look through your sent items folders and see there is any mail in there that can be deieted.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

If you have iOS 7 installed on your iPad then you can use Settings > General > Restrictions > Websites to block particular sites.
