just bought an Iomega Ego 500 external hard drive and cant seem to figure out the EMC retrospect software. I admit I am not very computer savvy, but these instructions remind me of why I have avoided computers most of my life. Wondering if any one has had a similar experience or if anyone can give some advice on how to decipher this jibberish. I just want to back up my macbook....... does "removable disk" mean external hard drive? the terminology in the pdf "Quick" start up guide seems antiquated. It does have a copywrite of 2007 (maybe i should uninstall it). Havent really tried it yet. Trying to get some advice first. thanks . surprised

You generally do not need to install any software on an external hard drive. You do need to format it properly (some manufacturers have it formatted for Windows, so you need to make it is formatted for a Mac); you can easily do that with Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility):
In Disk Utility, highlight your external hard drive on the left side and then click on the Partition tab. Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format and then click on Options. Choose GUID Partition Table. If you want to have more than one partition, i.e. one for a complete backup and another to drag and drop files on, divide it into 2 or 3 partitions.
Once your external hard drive is formatted properly, you can use Time machine or, if you want to have a bootable clone (an exact clone of your system you can use to boot from in case your internal hard drive fails), you can use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to back up.

1. Business transaction ie t code.
2. valuation area
3. Material and material type
4. mvt type...
In all you can say :
Chart of accounts + Val. Area + Val. type+ transaction + Valuation grouping code + account grping code + valuation class + G/L accounts
all above factors in all affects the determination ....

is it possible to add flow charts ( not by pictures ) to a program in dynpro or webdynpro ?
i need some how to visualize all the station flow in my work flow ( the regular wf log is not good enough ) .

My experience: very poor in powerpoint, I've just made one program to generate boxes with texts and relationships, but much more experience with OLE2/VBA.
But could you tell us exactly what you'd like to change in the WF log? (i.e. what information it doesn't have)
As I can understand your requirement, I think it's not worth developing such a program, you'll spend too much time, and it seems to not be a customer requirement...

Signal flow chart for using DIO on 5640R

There are a bunch of good templates to get me started with analog I/O but not for digital I/O. My project needs the host to send out a value through digital lines @10MHz. Now I have a few basic questions regarding the standard procedures to work with DIO?
1. what are the essential items in the signal flow chart on host? Open session->configuration->write->initialization->close session?
2. What are the differences of opening a session using FPGA VI Reference.vi and 5640 init Generation Session.vi? They are not interchangable.
3. Do I have to use a FIFO to transfer data between FPGA and host in this case?
At last, I highly recommend ni group to create a working template for DIO. If easy modification to analog I/O template can work for DIO, please show to how, that'll be great.

Hi Dan,
The basic flow of programming on the Host for digital output would be similar to:
Open FPGA Reference >> Configuration (as needed) >> Write to FPGA >> Close session
You could use a FIFO to pass data between the host and the FPGA or you could just pass data via controls and indicators. I have included an example project which passes data from the host to a control on the FPGA VI. If you are transferring the data as a 32-bit unsigned integer then you will need to manually format and control the way it is output from the FPGA VI. There is not a pre-made function to do that.
As for testing, you can manually probe the pins on a connector with a DMM. Here is the pinout for the AUX connector.

You need to create more buy in for this to work

As opposed as I am to lifetime subscriptions (creative cloud, MS Office, virus scanners, etc.), I can see some value in them as long as they bring value to me. I have no doubt in my mind that I can continue to work unhindered permanately with Adobe CS6 products without giving you another red cent - ever. Just as I can continue to use MS Office 2010 withouit paying MS anything else for a word processor, spreadsheet program and email/calendar client. You need to give me a REAL reason to not do this. I can personally only justify $50/month for CC with the following features:
1. Real cross-platform support. That means linux. There is no point in me spending money forever on a product (a product for which I can already do everything now with no additional cost). My business will gain nothing from CC short-term or long-term unless I can gain value from this purchase and save money from something else, and that basically means running on linux. Putting an extremely stable five-year updateable workstation OS like Ubuntu 12.04 on current hardware without having to shell out big $$$ to Apple for their non-upgradeable and non-serviceable hardware would flat-out save me money, money I would be willing to give to Adobe instead of Apple. I do have some workstations running Windows, but the Ubuntu and Mac workstations are more productive IMO working in creative suite, with less OS issues. I can see no reason not to code/port to linux other than developer laziness. People are disgusted with Microsoft since Windows 8 and Mac's just cost too much money in this economy. There are only a few reasons everyone is not already running linux - games in Windows (which Valve is starting to address with the steambox and steam for linux), Adobe products and MS Office. Office 2010 runs great under wine, so screw Microsoft. If you developed CC for linux, big-name vendors would instantly start selling home and business workstations pre-installed with Ubuntu designed for digital editing. It's not that linux users are completely opposed to spending money on software and demanding open-source, they just don't have much of a choice of anything to spend it on. Give them a quality product at a reasonable price, they will pay.
2. Better mobile support. We need real tools for quick edits on popular formats on our mobile devices. As our devices are getting faster, we need more integration for when we are not sitting in front of our workstation. For $50/month, this should be included and featured.
3. Better cloud-based training. To draw people in and keep them paying, they are going to need more frequent content updates, that also means proper feature training. The training should be easy to understand and readily available upon new features.
4. More cloud storage, much more.

If you have, you could also quit iCal, find the com.apple.ical.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences folder and drag it to the Desktop. Then log out/in or restart and check if your card is recognized.

It generates the cool menu automatically everything is fine.
BUT, what happens if my client creates a new page from his BC backend using a template i made for that purpose while making the site in Muse (a page with the "{tag_pagecontent}" Tag)
can it show in the menu?.
i desperatly need help with this one.

and for some obscure reason, i'm having a F*$*ing hard time to style
this will need to be possible in Muse future, i know muse grid came with a BC blog Module, hopefully they will come up with a BC dynamic menu module.

Flow chart for FPGA application

This is a general question but important: how should I setup the strategy to develop a LabView FPGA/RT/Windows application? In text-based programming languages flowcharts become useful to sort out where to start and where to end, but when I am developing Labview VIs in three spaces, FPGA VI, RT host VI, and Windows host VI which one would be the head and tail? Should one VI be completed then the next one started or develop small portions of every VI at a time? I am using the later method which is not always efficient especially for large applications.
I am wondering if any one has come across with those questions and can share his/er experiences.

I think the perfect place for you to start is the NI CompactRIO Developers Guide. This can also be helpful if its a non-CompactRIO application but uses Windows, RT and FPGA.
Personally I like the idea of writing your FPGA VI first, and get it acquiring the data you need. Then you can write the RT VI that accesses the data from the FPGA VI and does the processing. Once you have this processing done, you can finish off in the Windows VI for User interface. Of course as you go along you will have to go backwards to add modifications to the lower code to make communication possible, but it usually works out pretty good for me..

Need help with Photoshop and "Licensing for this product has stopped working" message. Adobe fix isn't working.

I am still using CS3. A while back I received an error: "Licensing for this product has stopped working" for my CS3 programs. I used the recovery program suggested by Adobe and was able to get Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver to work, but I still can't open Photoshop or In Design. I went back to the Adobe site and did every other trick they suggested to fix the error, but nothing has worked.
I then tried to uninstall photoshop from my CS3 suite (so I could reinstall) but got a JavaScript Alert: "Critical errors were found in set up. Please see set up log for file details." Seeing as I am not the best with the behind the scenes technical stuff, I have no idea what this means or where the set up log even is. Any help anyone can provide?
I have had CS3 installed on my computer for over a year. I started having problems about 4 months ago.

I am having similar problem. Can't open any of CS3 programs after trying to download Dreamweaver Trial, which wouldn't work because "couldn't remove DLM extention" error message. So now I can not run Illustrator, Photoshop, or even Adobe Reader. These are properly licensed for about a year. I get "License for product has stopped working". Have 2 pending cases open with Adobe support (one for Dreamweaver trial, one for license problem) since 8/3 with NO ANSWERS - It says answers within 1-3 business days. Was on phone support hold today for over 3 hours before line went dead with no help. What is up with adobe support? Can anyone help?
