Wow Headset: I suddenly went deaf!

So you spend a hundred plus dollars on some nifty wireless headphones, they glow colors, they have a voice modulator, their so cool.
That is until they loose their charge, then poof your deaf.
No indicator what on how long a charge is, no low power notice, icon, beep, just hey consumer, how do you like feature, NO SOUND because we the great and powerful engineers forgot to put in an indicator to tell you to plug the headset in to charge it.
It is very hard to explain to your raid leader why you dropped the ball during a ten minute boss fight because you did not hear him say go left, hit that switch, etc when my sound dies in the middle of a fight.
Perhaps if the unit came with some kind of beep, "help I'm low battery" something!!!!
So if creative made a car, I would just run out of gas as no indicator, hope you remembered to fill up.
Now instead of enjoying the freedom of wireless, every time I raid I have to stay tethered to the pc with the recharge cable, one that is so freaking heavy that it falls out every 3-5 minutes during use. I could have saved forty dollars and purchased the unit that comes tethered if i wanted that all the time.
This is called Quality Assurance, someone sighed off on it, and it was approved by management, That is why I am buying a new PLANTRONICS Blackwire 700 C720-M headset. Way to save a few dollars for not putting in an indicator for low battery, you lost a customer who has been purchasing your merchandise since the Sound Blaster line in the low nineties.

I understand your frustrations on the headset but ever since you got it last feb (refer to your post here), you were already aware that this was not marketed with such feature in fact you were complaining on the same exact "feature" missing on the headset. I'm not sure what you're trying to come up here (just doesn't like the headset, other brand is better, advertising, etc.) but whatever it is, I'm sorry to hear that the headset did not meet your expectations.

  • WoW Headset/Microphone Issue

    I have a Wired, not Wireless. The earcup glows work fine for me.
    For some reason, any program I want to use the headset with I need to wait to open until the headset is plugged in and registered. This is irritating, at best, because some sounds will transmit through the headset and others won't.
    Besides this, it was working relatively fine earlier but when I logged into Ventrilo everything was distorted both coming in and going out. I sound like a Deconstructor to them and they sound like ones to me. I've tried unplugging and replugging, restarting, I will now be working with the drivers if possible.
    It seems that every now and then it will also make my sound gritty, like a radio getting interference. Being that this is a Wired set, I find that odd, and I don't have my music blasting - ever.
    Is anyone else having these glaring problems? I've only had them for two days and it looks like I'll be more than happy to return them for a refund.

    My brother and I both bought the WOW headset. Both of us are having the problem discribed here. It seems very random and intermitent. I will be listening to him and all of a sudden his voice sounds mechanical and very distorted. Its hard to understand what he says. When the headphones work the sound quality is good, but when that happens, it just makes me want to return them. Its SOOOOO frustrating. I can't seem to find a solution to this. PLEASE HELP CREATIVE. I used to have the fatality headset I never had a problem with them. Almost wish i had just bought another pair of them.

    I've been having the same problem every 3-4 months: the calendar app seems to hang up, I either reset the app/phone or wait it out, then presto! all internal calendar entries have been deleted. Unlike others in this thread and elsewhere, I am not using iCloud.
    Interesting fact: while following the suggestion to hide all calendars, then show all calendars, I noticed that the internal calendar option is MISSING. It's like it just doesn't identify that there ever WAS an internal calendar. Really? Argh.
    Apple Support: are you guys monitoring this? I've seen a few similar postings, so I don't think we're alone...
    Granted, I have more than a few entries - years of calendar/appointment history have been imported from my old Palm Treo. Thanks to slow performance and odd calendar app crashes, I am very well aware that the iPhone's calendar isn't nearly up to the task of handling this many entries, and have been working to get the quantity of entries down. I must be up near some threshold, as response time seems to have improved with several deleted entries, though it was just before the crash+data loss.
    Fortunately, I try to sync with my Outlook calendar nightly, so I do have a backup. However, this type of data loss and instability re VERY painful for those that actually USE and practically LIVE by their calendars. Here's hoping I can remember today's entry modifications...
    One additional complaint: WHY can't I edit a recurring appointment WITHOUT it creating a NEW one? Crazy... For all the things this smartphone does well, it does several things VERY stupidly.

Have tried to restore it 7 times but continually get various error messages starting " Itunes could not perform a restore due to an unknown error" The error message numbers varied from (1009), (1002), and (20000)!!!!!??????????
    My iTunes version is up to date. I have performed all the trouble-shooting tasks including trying to restore on a different pc without success!!!

  • WoW Headset Stolen Wireless Receiver

    Greetings,
    I bought my WoW Headset from Amazon, and i didn't had any problems, but i took them to a convention and somehow my wireless receiver was stolen.
    Mailed Creative labs several times, their answer is they don't have parts and can't replace my functioning headset for another for little money, they want me to buy another one.
    So, I have a some of questions:
    - Is there a way to make them work with the usb cord that is included? I don't mind using them this way.
    - Can i use another wireless receiver from another wow headset? If so will someone who something else is not working will sell it to me?
    - Can i buy a 3rd part wireless receiver that can work with my headset?
    Please help me, I really don't want to buy a whole new headset for something that could be replaced at a lower cost.

    Lightroom 3.6 suddenly went very slow to respond, after running reasonably fast for a few months.
    Process Explorer shows that I have plenty of spare CPU and memory capacity.
    I have no malware.
    Running Win XP with a quad processor.
    THe other day it went fast again for a while, but then reverted to being slow.

    Has anyone experienced anything like this?

    Try resetting your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If the Apple appears, the reset is in progress, and the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly.
    Be sure that your device is charged. If you are not sure, then hook it up to a charger and wait 5 minutes before resetting.

    This afternoon my Mac iBook G4 was running on house power (plugged into outlet) and it suddenly went blank.  It won't restart.  Any suggestions what I should check out before I spend good money on a repair shop?

    I'm new to MACs, but might I suggest that you first check the power ar the outlet and then the power at the end of the power cord.
      My old iBook gets only to the Apple stary-up screen.  If you can get that far, please try the suggestions I got through the forum from Old Comm Guy

      It's stalling in the boot somewhere.
      First thing to try is safe boot by holding down the shift key when you power up.  Safe boot
      loads a minimal set of kernel extensions and also checks and attempts to correct problems
      in the boot volume by running fsck which is a Unix function that checks directories.  This can
      take a little while longer than a normal boot, so give the gear a chance to spin for a bit.
      If you get to a safe boot, then it would be a good time to open Disk Utility in
      the /Applications/Utilities folder and repair permissions on the boot volume.  Then command
      a restart and see what happens.
      If things are not yet working, either because Safe Boot didn't work or it worked and you can't
      boot, then you should try a PRAM reset, by holding down the cmd-option-P-R keys at power
      on until you hear the boot tone (chime) a second time, then see how boot goes.
      Finally, you can start to troubleshoot a boot stall by booting into "verbose mode" by holding
      down the cmd-V key combination at power up until you see a black Unix terminal display on
      the screen, then watching to see where things hang up.  You may not know what they mean,
      but there are folks on the discussions who can figure them out."

    Maybe the Firefox rules in the firewall got damaged.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.<br />

    If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.<br />
    Download a fresh copy of Firefox ( http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html ) and do a reinstall of Firefox on top of the current version.<br />
    If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

    Violet I'm sorry to hear that. Do you know if the device has any liquid damage or anything that may have caused it to just die and not come back on? Toggle on and off the vibrate switch on the said and see if the device vibrates? If it does then take it in for troubleshooting purposes at an Apple store.
    Have you tried a hard reset of the device? By holding the home button and top button at the same time for 10-12 seconds until an apple logo pops up then let go of the home button and see if that fixes the issue.

  • Optical Audio Through X-Fi to WoW Headset

    I have my consoles hooked up to my PC through the optical jack in the front panel of an SB-X-Fi Platinum Fatality Champion Series and the line-in jack in the rear. This audio works fine when outputting to speakers. However, I just got the WoW Wireless Headset, and it is not transmitting that signal. The headset works perfectly for PC-based games and music, but for some reason it will not take the audio input signals and transmit them to the headset. I've set the headset as the default audio device in the control panel (Win 7 64-bit), and have checked every setting I can find in the Creative Audio Console both for the sound card and the headset, but with no luck. No matter what, the console audio always outputs to the speakers rather than the headphones.
    Anybody have any ideas for how to make this work?

    The WoW headset functions as a separate audio device on it's own, you cannot have both the sound card and headset working at the same time.

    Is your iPhone a Factory Unlocked iPhone or Locked to a Service Provider ?
    Have you tried Restoring your iPhone by taking your device in Recovery Mode ?
