WPA2 still broken on my MacBook Pro

I bought a MacBook Pro, and as of 10.4.7, WPA2 performance was poor.
I bought Leopard and installed a FRESH copy. No upgrade.
WPA2 performance is still POOR. I cannot visit many sites.
All HTTPS sites timeout and fail.
How do I get this fixed?

I believe the bug exists in the fact that wpa2 cannot be chosen and locked in, but wpa2 does work. I use two different routers with only wpa2 authentication with AES encryption and my macbook pro can connect to both, flawlessly, no dropouts, no interruptions of any kind, both operating at 5Ghz with average 216mb/sec connection speed. I'm sure apple will get around to fixing the gui where wpa/wpa2 is chosen.

  • Broken screen of MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013). Where I can find the part?

I have a broken screen for MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) and I cannot find a replacement. Where I can find the screen? I will install myself. Thanks

Apple does not sell replacement parts, any you find will be third-party knockoffs.  Take your Retina to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs tell you what  needs to be done.  New Retina screens are not cheap, they normally replace the entire lid as a unit.

  • Will Apple give me anything to trade-in a water-damaged (still functional but hurting) MacBook Pro [Purchased new Dec. 2010]?

Will Apple give me anything to trade-in a water-damaged (still functional but hurting) MacBook Pro [Purchased new Dec. 2010]?
    Any feedback/advice is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

The techs at Apple do have some lattitude in what they can offer. And it won't hurt to ask, and if they did help you out, it would be your one and only "save" for the rest of your life probably. Since you bought yours back in 2010, I doubt they would do anything. If it were a brand new unit, they may have some sympathy. But in your case, I'd say probably not.

  • Display assembly cracked/broken on my macbook pro

The metal that aparently connects the display to the clamshell hinge on my Macbook Pro 15" (late 2008) has broken after a fall of about 1 foot from a coffee table. The display still works, as does the computer in general. Does anyone have any experience in this area? I have found some directions online about how to replace the display, but am having trouble locating a replacement.

google it, http://www.powerbookmedic.com/MacBook-Pro-15-Display-LCD-Screen-p-16893.html first google hit i got, i think you can find them for even cheaper. supposedly it is not too hard to swap them your self, but i have never done it and i have no guess at your technical abilities vs what is required.

  • My MacBook Pro will not turn on, bought a new charge still no power, My MacBook Pro will not turn on, bought a new charge still no power

My MacBook pro will not turn on bought a new charger and it still will not turn on

Then your problem isn't with the charger/adapter. Which model MacBook Pro do you have (e.g., "15-inch Late 2011")?
It's likely that you'd be best served by taking your machine into your local Apple Store or AASP and having the Apple techs run diagnostics. The diagnosis and estimate to repair should be free.

Sorry for the late reply guys, i shiped it in to the local apple-certified repair shop and it came back with a fresh install and with a note that they didn´t find any problems with it. The odd thing is, that now with about a week of ussage the same problems starts to show, i can still boot it up, but it often freezes and locks-up the whole system, the three error-logs i have been abble to get are posted below, hope some of you can see whats wrong from these:

  • Will Time Machine Still Back Up if Macbook Pro is Closed?

I'm wondering if time machine wil still back up my files if I close the lid of my Macbook Pro? I've thought about getting a program called "Caffine", which keeps the screen running indefinitely in order to keep process running. I could just run that, and then dim the screen to conserve power. However, I'd like to avoid this if possible, as I'm sure in the long run it might be taxing on the backlight. So I want to know if I close the lid, will time machine still run? Or do processes stop when you close it?
I should mention I'm not backing up to an actual Time Machine, but rather to a 1 TB external HD.

    Power Nap?
Yes. Power Nap did not exist two years ago, in early 2012, when this topic was last active. Now, hardware compatible with Power Nap will back up, among other things, while sleeping. See:

  • Broken Screen On Macbook Pro

When going to close my macbook pro the screen just broke, I placed my finger on the screen to close it and my finger literally made a hole in the screen and cracked it. I know this could be accidental damage, but is there some manufacture problem in it being so dainty and easily brekable? Would they fix it with the one year warrenty? Thank you!

  • Having multiple iDevices, messaging is becoming a nuisance. I can disable on iphones and iPad, but but I'd still like texting on macbook pro but not group. How to disable, other than delete app?

Ok, new to this, sorry for long title, thought I was in text/message part. I have two iPhones, and iPad, and a MacBook Pro. Invoking messaging and receiving on two iPhones and an iPad was cute in the beginning but now it's beyond useful. i've solved the problem on iPhones just by turning off messaging, but find nothing in settings to turn off messaging on the MacBook Pro. I'm assuming that turning off messaging on my phones reverts to SMS tho' not sure what Apple uses if not SMS.
I do not want iPhone messages being received on my MacBook Pro. How do I de-authorize, can't seem to find anything in settings and don't want to delete MESSAGE.APP  as who knows if I want it in future.
Thanks in advance. All deviced up to date with software, and am using Mt. Lion on MacBook.

    HI,
The iOS Messages app send either iMessages or SMS depending on the receiver.
If it is Off then you can't send SMS either.
Turn Messages back On in the iPhone.
Go to Setting > Messages > Send and Receive and delete the Apple ID (And any other email) you listed for iMessages
You will get a warning alert that the ID will be deleted across all devices (and it included Messages on the Mac)
The Messages app on the Mac can have iMessages turned Off.
    Two ways to do this.
Simplest is to go to  Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts and Untick the Enable this Account Box.
The second is to use the Sign Out Button (in OS X 10.8.2 which has updated Messages to version 7.0.1)
The Second logs you out and removes the Apple ID from the iMessages Account settings.

  • Sites blocked in China still blocked on my macbook pro in US

Since I've returned to the US from China, where Facebook and Youtube have been blocked for months, I haven't able to access those sites from my macbook pro here at home. I know there is no problem with the connection in my home, because I've tried accessing those sites on a other macs from my home simultaneously, and only had the connection problem from mine. Is it possible that some block got installed on my computer through the internet in China? How can I resolve this problem? (I've already tried accessing the sites from different servers; Safari, and Firefox which I just installed in the US, with no luck).

System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS. Put the following in the DNS Servers box and hit OK then Apply:

  • Is iMessages still available to the macbook pro?

I downloaded the imessages beta for the macbook pro until recently when it stopped working.  I tried to uninstall and then reinstal it except i couldn't find the download link on the apple site anymore.  Is it no longer available?

Wait until Mountain Lion is released. It is going to included with Mountain Lion.
    Best.

  • Hello, I be glad an answer, I lose 20, 30, sometimes 50, 70, 80-100% power energy on standby every 8-24 hours. After reinstalation OSX still it is. MacBook Pro from February, I so disappointed of this product. Please for help.

PS. Battery was checked and is good.

    Andrzej,
have you tried resetting your MacBook Pro’s System Management Controller?

  • Can I capture still photos off my macbook pro?

    Can this be done?

Screenshots? Sure! Use any of the following
    shift-cmd-3 for the whole screen
shift-cmd-4 to create a crosshair which you can then drag into a rectangle to capture that area
    or,
shift-cmd-4, then hit the space bar to show a camera icon, move that icon over any open window and click to capture just that window.
Screenshot images will get saved to your desktop.
If you see an image on a webpage you want to capture, you can usually just drag that image to your desktop to save it. (Unless it's part of a Flash page or a background image.)
