WPA2 support on HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw

I am not able to find documentation that a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw is supporting WPA2. That cannot be true in 2015. This protocol is the standard on every network.
True or not?
I do not want to buy the printer unless I am sure WPA2 is supported.

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw Sealing Envelopes

My Color LaserJet Pro MPF M476dw is sealing envelopes when it passes through Tray 1.  I have contacted HP support and have not had any success in resolving the matter.  I did order laser jet envelopes that said they would not seal.  However, they sealed.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?  My old HP Laserjet 4250 (I think that was the number) did not seal the envelopes.

The heat from your M476 combined with the natural humidity of the laser toner fusing process is sealing your envelopes.  You probally need to find a way to reduce the amount of heat that is being used when printing envelopes.  Normally there are two places to look for configuring the heat.  The first is the pritnt driver itself, which you can switch around with UPDs and different printer languages in hopes that one works better than another.  The other is a print driver configuration for the paper type you are printing from.  For example if you are selecting the Envelope #10 paper size or some custom size.  Each paper type contains commands that the printer uses to heat up and cool down the fuser so that the toner gets properly bonded to the paper.

This printer for some reason only prints B&W when I am printing from Teamviewer but when I print from my own computer, it will print in color and B&W.
Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do?
    Thanks Brad

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw - PostScript support?

    Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a new printer/scanner/copier(/fax is a nice to have, but not mandatory), and I'm deciding between the following models:
HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw
PostScript support is important for me, and I know that the 175 has this.  However, I'm not sure about the 177, even after digging through several web pages and documents.  Here's what I found:
    - The main specs page for the 177 says that it supports "PCLm".  I'm not familiar with this PCL variant, so I don't know how it compares to PCL5 or PCL6, etc.  I was unable to find more information on "PCLm".
    - The "Software Included" section of Page 2 of the PDF datasheet for the 177 mentions "HP PostScript" driver.  This is the only place where I've seen any potential indication that the 177 supports PostScript.  This section also mentions a "PCLmS" driver.  I could not find any further information on "PCLmS".
    - The  for User Guide the 177 only mentions PostScript in a section that refers to ePrint.  However, it does not imply that the 177 itself supports PostScript.
    - The Product Specifications page (in the Support section of the HP site) for the 177 has a "Printing Specifications" section which lists only "PCL3 GUI" next to "Device languages".
I'm guessing that the 177 does not support PostScript, but does anyone have any more definitive information?  Also, is there a description of PCLm / PCLmS somewhere?
    Thanks!

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw fax to pc

I have just bought this printer and want to msend faxes to my pc.  I was told by PC world that it had this function.  So far I cant find it can anyone help.  Many thanks

Hi ,  I would be happy to help shed some light on the issue your are having with trying to setup this Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw to receive your faxes on your PC.  I have looked into this further for you, and I'm pretty sure this model doesn't support receiving faxes on your PC. You can double check to make sure I haven't missed it in the  COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M177 User Guide.
I did however locate a different model, where in the manual does provide instructions on how to set this feature up but it is a black only printer. Its the LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw (again black only, no colour.)
Step 5 (Optional): Configure settings for receiving digital faxes (Windows) The product can save incoming digital faxes to a computer folder. Use the HP Digital Fax Setup Wizard to configure the settings. This feature is available only for Windows. 1. Click Start, and then click Programs. 2. Click HP, click the name of the product, and then click Digital Fax Setup Wizard. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the settings.  HP also has this feature available on it's HP Officejet Pro 8610/8620/8630 e-All-in-One Printers, which are Colour Inkjets. Some of the commerical products also support this feature but I'm unsure of which ones. I would really suggest contacting HP Shopping for more information on these models.  Hopefully this has answered your questions, and please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.   Thanks,

  • Hp color laserjet pro mfp m177fw (Cant open SCANNER on computer)

    Hi there,
I am using a desktop 27 inch Mac with OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
When I go to system preferences and click on printers/scanners I can see my mfp m177fw laserjet printer (wirelessly connected fine). But unlike on my Macbook Pro laptop on my desktop there is no SCANNER option to open up?  Thus I am unable to scan from the printer to this desktop. I have the latest HP driver installed on the desktop computer for my m177fw printer.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated
    thanks!
    Simon

    Hello @Simonjayh,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the scan issue that you're experiencing since installing your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer. Can I please have you run through the steps below to get this product functioning properly again for you.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
First, can I please have you click here and run through the steps provided to Reset the Print System on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer. Please refer to the section under 'Resetting the printing system in OS X Lion' as the steps are the same for your Mac OS X 10.10 Operating System. Resetting the Print System will remove every printer from your Print & Scan window on your computer. However, this does not uninstall the devices. Therefore, should you use other printers on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer simply ensure that they are plugged in with a USB Cable or Network connected and add (+) them back in. Do not add your HP Laserjet printer back in at this time.
Next, please click here to access the steps on how to properly uninstall the Software and Driver Package for your printer. Once the website opens select the dropdown for 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' as the steps are the same for your Mac OS X 10.10 Operating System. Once the uninstall has completed successfully, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    Go to the Utilities Folder
    Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
    Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
    Go to Apple
    Select System Preferences
    Select Software Update
    Click Update Now
    Install your available updates
    Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
Lastly, please click here to download the appropriate Mac OS X 10.10 Full Feature Software and Driver package for you printer. Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left. Once the Download is complete please follow the onscreen steps to reinstall you printer.
Once your printer has been successfully reinstalled, please test the HP Scan functions again. For additional scan information, you may want to refer to : Scanning with the Full Feature HP Software in OS X v10.10 Yosemite
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Can't install Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw

I'm having trouble installing the drivers for my new Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw AIO printer.  I'm using a Sony Vaio VPCX118LG running Windows 7. I initially successfully installed the software from the disk provided some weeks ago, and had the printer running satisfactorily.  About 3 weeks ago, I attempted unsuccessfully to install Office 2013 on the 32 system, and finally gave up trying and went back to Office 2010.  Since about that time, I've been unable to use either of my M177s (I have two printers in my two offices in different cities; the one in Sydnay is working fine with my HP Pavilion desktop up there, but now won't work with my laptop, as won't the other identical printer in Canberra). I've tried uninstalling the software (using the Uninstall utility on the disk provided with the printer) and reinstalling.  The install process seems to be proceeding normally but at about 99% complete stops with a message about a "Fatal Error".  When monitoring the process using the Windows dialogue, the failure appears to coincide withthe installation of the last driver (after the Scan, Fax, USB Printer, etc...the one called, "HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP m177fw"). I've tried downloading the installation files and drivers from the HP website and installing from the disk provided, but neither method works. Can someone there offer any help, please? Claude

Hi ,  I think it's time to take the proverbial gloves off.  I suggest you try a selective start up on your PC working directly with MSCONFIG to try and determine what, if any Windows service or program is interfering with your ability to install the drivers.  Here's how:   Click on the Start menuIn the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the System Configuration Window opens click 'Selective Startup' and uncheck Load Startup ItemsClick the Services tab. Check the box at the bottom for Hide All Microsoft ServicesSelect Disable AllSelect Apply and OKRestart your computer when promptedAfter you reboot, try the install again.  If you're able to finish the setup we can safely assume there is a background program or service on your computer blocking the install. You will need to enable one service at a time on your computer to locate the program that's blocking your printer from printing.   Here's how to undo the above-noted MSCONFIG steps:  Click the Start icon.In the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the System Configuration Window opens click 'Normal Startup'Click Apply and OKRestart your computer as prompted.  If this approach falls short I recommend you reach out to our tech support team. • HP COLOR LASERJET Pro MFP M176n

    Hello
Is the printer HP COLOR LASERJET Pro MFP M176n PCL5/PCL6 compliant?
I searched in the HP website and it says PCLm/PCLmS in one link and PCL 3 GUI in another link.
    Also advise what is PCLm/PCLmS?
    PCL 3 GUI :
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c03894363&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_us...
    PCLm/PCLmS:
    http://www8.hp.com/in/en/products/printers/product-detail.html?oid=5303442#!tab=specs
Please advise which is the correct one.
    Thanks
    Subbu

No idea which is the correct specification.
But none of those Page Description Languages are compatible with PCL5 or PCL6 (a.k.a PCL XL).
I can't be certain, since (unlike with PCL5 and PCL6) HP does not appear to publish specifications of these PDLs, but as far as I'm aware:
PCL3 GUI is a raster-based language; I believe that the drivers basically generate encapsulated, compressed, PCL-format raster images of each page; the printer unencapsulates and uncompresses these, and then just prints the resultant dots. I suspect that the language does support a very limited set of PCL escape sequences, to select job-level characteristics (such as page size, orientation, plex mode, etc.), but doesn't support anything to do with text formatting.
PCLm and PCLmS also appear to be raster-based, but in this case the raster images are encapsulated within a Portable Document Format (PDF) wrapper.

Once I try to install Scan to Email app i get following message once i try to install app:
What is wrong, that i cannot install app that was one of main choice points of this printer.
TWAIN and using computer scanning process is clear, so no need instructions how to scan using computer.
I especially need fucntion that i scan document on printer, then enter email and its emailed.
