WPC HTML editor rendering changed after SPS21 upgrade

Hello experts,
We've just upgraded our SAP Portal to SPS21. This upgrade included KMC. Since the upgrade the fontsizing of content types has changed. Everything has become so small, content cannot be properly read. I'm trying to narrow down the problem and found out the following:
- It only happens when existing content (pre upgrade content) get saved. Before saving the font size is good, but after saving it changes.
- It only happens to content which is being edited in the HTML edit object of WPC.
I was surprised it only happens to existing content and not to new content. Using the IE Developer toolbar I tried finding out the difference in HTML. This is what I found:
- Existing content is only rendered by the XSL. The XSL defines the content to be viewed in a paragraph tag. This is exactly the output of the HTML
- New content (same content type) is rendered by the XSL, but has "extra" rendering: Text is shown in two SPAN tags <span> with extra class attributes urFontStd and urTxtStd.
I don't know enough about WPC to know why it renders in two different ways if the same xsl file is used for the content. I hope someone can help me solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
Kenny

No, I don't have a proper solution yet, but we adjusted our stylesheet., so we have a workaround A normal paragraph has 0.75 em and a paragraph inside the spans have a 1.0em value. Both paragraphs show the results in 12px.
It's not pretty, but it works.

• Firefox/Thunderbird Font Rendering changed after upgrade of xulrunner

Hi guys,
I experienced a problem with font rendering in the mentioned applications after upgrading xulrunner from 1.9.2.10-1 to 1.9.2.10-2 today. It seems like font smoothing/subpixel rendering does not work as before. After downgrading to 1.9.2.10-1, it worked as expected again.
To make it more clearly, here is a comparison shot of the two different renderings. The top one is before, the bottom one after the upgrade. You can see that the font at the top is rendered more smoothly.
And here is a difference image:
Is anything known about changes which could cause this?
<edit>I have to correct this. The rendering in thunderbird was obviously not changed by the xulrunner upgrade, but by a separate thunderbird upgrade from 3.1.4-1 to 3.1.4-2.
<edit2>Additional information: I have the cleartype versions of freetype2, cairo and libxft installed, if that matters.

Although I am empathetic to the hard (and really great) job the arch devs do, I want to voice my overall agreement with softtower on this issue. Fonts have been an off and on problem for me with arch since the beginning. I understand the devs are doing the best they can, especially when the actual problem is with the moz. devs. But fonts are the major way most users interact with the system, and I can tell you that almost nothing is more aggravating, to me at least, to suddenly "upgrade" and get presented with those really crappy fonts out of the blue. Just saying I understand the frustration, and I think he makes some good points about shipping broken packages and "blaming" it on upstream. If they're broken - don't use them! if possible. "Progress" that breaks stuff isn't really progress, imo.

Don't quite get what the fuzz is all about, my fonts look as crisp as ever (on a laptop lcd), the update changed absolutely nothing for me. I never used "fixed" versions of anything, can't really remember how I set up the fonts when I did this installation though (font config advice on the wiki I guess).
It is not the repo's maintainers job to keep packages synced up with any "fixed" packages in AUR, that is your own responsibility, and bitching about it won't help you any.
Just pointing out that comments like these aren't really helpful, imho. So you didn't have the problem - that's good to know, but the "fuzz" is about the fact that some of us *DO* have the problem.
It typically doesn't show up on laptops, btw, only standalone LCDs for some reason (has always been the case for me, at least, with both LCDs and laptops, where the laptop never had the problem). So again, the fuss is that a major usability function got broken from an upgrade that shouldn't get broken, and imo it raises some good, if admittedly difficult to resolve, points, philosophical points, etc. about the packaging and upgrade process,

• Process Chain behavior changed after SP upgrade

Hi all, we've recently updated SP from SAP_BW 700, SAPKW70016 to SAPKW70021.
We realized about a particular process chain behavior:
We have many process chains configured to execute the next step "Always" (whatever it happens with the previous process).
This is the situation which changed:
BEFORE the upgrade:
If error raises on a process, this one remains "red" but the subsequent processes continues.
Once repaired (repeat/repair from the PC) the "crashed" process it is updated to "Green" status.
AFTER the upgrade:
If error raises on a process, this one remains "red" but the subsequent processes continues.
Once repaired (repeat/repair from the PC) the "crashed" process it is updated to "Green" status.
The remaining processes are executed once again (a new branch is generated). <- This is different
I want the "BEFORE the upgrade" behavior to keep working as always.
Do you know if there's some OSS note or tips of configs available to set this as my needs? (we have found the OSS Note 1398868 and implemented it, but the "effect" is not as we should expect for this case in particular).
I hope you can help. Thanks in advance and best regards,
Bernardo

I've found the OSS note: Note 1473491 - Chain not continued with termination and "ALWAYS" link; delivered with "SAPKW70025" corrections. It seems to be solving the issue I've originally mentioned. I'll perform some tests on this and update.

• Excel layout changed after EHP5 upgrade from EHP4.

Hi All,
We have just finished the EHP5 upgrade from EHP4 for ECC 6.0 for our production system. BUT we noticed that The standard layout, (also known as Dynamic List Display) has been chagned in EHP5 compare to EHP4.
This is affected us as we have lot of macros enable for the excel files.
Request you all to help. Is there any sapnote, anyway we can resolved this issue.
Thanks

Hi Markus,
Thanks for reply.
I not sure how i can attached file over here? Is there anyway to attached files in the forum?. I have the before and after image of excel file.
But the position of the data which is downloaed in the excel sheet has been changed after upgrade. For example ,Before upgrade the column named "Description" in the production plan report was in the second column i.e. B where as after upgrade the "Description" column in the production plan report is in the first column i.e. A.
I mean the postion of the data changed in after upgrade. Therefore macro which are enable are not working anymore.
New Format Example
Production plan
Description                        Material                               Sales doc.
IRB 2600 M2004                 3HAC020536-018              104861

Hope this above will help to make it clear.
After checking this message ... the output example given above seems to be not showing the way i itend to... But in above example in the old format the Description column was at column B instead of column A after upgrade.

• How do I Change the Name of My MacBook and Why was it Changed after the Upgrade to Yosemite?

Hi everyone,
I upgraded my MacBook Air (2012) to Yosemite a few months back and it changed the name of my Mac from "Alan's MacBook" to "Alan MacBook Air (2)." I simply want to know how to change it back to the original name. Also, why was it changed in the first place after my upgrade to Yosemite?
Thank you so much!!!

Professor AR wrote:

This was a common bug in Yosemite. Follow dwb's instructions but also restart your router. Make sure you're running OS X 10.10.2 since it was supposed to have been addressed with that update.
I have heard allegations regarding simultaneous use of both Wi-Fi and Ethernet (or equivalent adapter, considering it's a MBA) but can find no justification for them, and I never personally observed any correlation to it. It's perfectly acceptable to use both.

• Xml form HTML Editor control change.

Hi,
Is it possible to change External weblink control property of HTML Editor used in xml form builder.?
As of now this control gives 2 options to provide external weblink (1.Open in active window ,2.open in new window).I want to add open in same window as top.
Can anyone give some useful information ?
Thanks and Regards,
Jack.
Note: Points will be awarded for useful answers.

Hi jack men,
If you are still interested in a solution to your problem...
We just hit upon the same problem. I found out that XMLForms reference htmledit4.js in their <XMLForm-Name>Edit.xsl, so you have to adapt that one.
I saved htmledit4.js and renamed it to htmledit5.js so that I can change the HTMLEditor settings only for my XMLForm (and not for e.g. SAPNewsForm).
I changed the entry in my XML-Form Editor settings XSL to reference the new JavaScript file:
<xsl:value-of select="$xmlformsroot"/>/htmledit/htmledit5.js</xsl:if>
Then I copied the method body of htmledit3.js (the standard htmleditor JavaScript file) to htmledit5.js and adapted it to just show the two tragets of <i>self</i> and <i>top</i>.
The method to display link properties is: <b>htmlb_hed_makeWebLinkDialog</b>
Find this method in both files. Then find in htmledit3.js the beginning of the target window selection-box:
sSizerHtml += "<SELECT id=htmlb_hed_link_launch_mode class=\"urDdlWhlSml\">";
the following lines of code determine the selectable values.
You will notice that htmledit4.js misses a few entries. Just copy all or the ones you need.
For your convenience I show my code here:
sSizerHtml += "<td>";
      sSizerHtml += "<span style=\"font-size:1em;\">";
      sSizerHtml += "<SELECT id=htmlb_hed_link_launch_mode class=\"urDdlWhlSml\">";
//-- target=_blank
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_blank\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==1) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_BLANK"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
//-- target=_parent --
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_parent\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==2) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_PARENT"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
//-- target=_search--
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_search\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==3) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_SEARCH"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
//--target=_self
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_self\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==4) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_SELF"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION>";
//-- target=_top
      sSizerHtml += "<OPTION value=\"_top\" ";
      if(modOpenMode==5) sSizerHtml += "selected";
      sSizerHtml += ">";
      sSizerHtml += txtMap["TXT_HTMLB_HED_TOP"];
      sSizerHtml += "</OPTION></SELECT></span>";
      sSizerHtml += "</td>";
      sSizerHtml += "</tr>";
I didn't check yet if a new generation of the XMLForms Project in the XMLFormsBuilder overwrites the changes in the XMLFormsEdit.xsl, however I guess so. A better way would be to adjust the JavaScript reference in some other configuration file that I haven't found yet, until then just adapt the XSL everytime...
If Carsten Buechert contacted you regarding the exchange of the whole control, I would be interested myself as well.
Cheers

• Changes after firmware upgrade in nokia 3250

hi i have nokia 3250 and want to are there any changes after upgrading firmware beacuse before i owned nokia 6270 and after upgrading firmware the music volume on my headset became very low and i dont want same wit my 3250

yeah, the N80 has a history of being buggy. Even with the latest firmware. Its a shame, because it was a damn good phone. Anyhow
You can download Yahoo!Go from:
http://uk.mobile.yahoo.com/go
Not sure about the others. (My operator, Three, offers Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Go to its customers, but they "are incompatible with the N80" if you can believe that.)

• Font rendering change after upgrade

After upgrading freetype from current to the latest version I noticed that my fonts changed. The rendering was thicker, as in most other linux distributions. Not that it was bad, but I prefer the thin ones Arch had up to now.To solve it I just downgraded freetype to the previous version and everything is fine, but I wonder if the change is due to the way both versions are configured/compiled or is it an internal change in freetype?
I ask because I'd like to keep this thinner fonts, so I want to know if I should just stop upgrading freetype forever or could I recompile the latest version to get this kind of fonts?

Bogart wrote:
slackhack wrote:btw, do you have TFT or CRT? i have a TFT and have tried autohinting both on and off, but it looks like total crap with it off.
I have a CRT, since TFT screens hurt my eyes with their crispness. I prefer the smooth CRT image. I use the defult hinting (medium), though I've found that if I turn it to full hinting I get the thinner fonts too with this latest freetype, so now I can choose without the need to downgrade.
that must be the reason, because i have a TFT and just upgraded to the latest freetype2/fontconfig, and the fonts look worse than ever. changing hintfull to hintmedium in ~/.fonts.conf has no effect whatsoever. i moved the /etc/fonts/conf.d directory, no effect, removed local.conf, no effect. nothing seems to fix them, it's really annoying.  and worst of all, the old freetype2 isn't installing because it requires an older fontconfig, and when i try to install an older fontconfig, i get some libexpat library error and everything crashes when i try to launch it.
>>update: i just checked in gnome, and the fonts look really good there. XFCE4 must use some different method of hinting the fonts than gnome, which i thought uses the freetype2 autohinter. i changed hinting to medium in the xfce4 UI settings, and that improved things a little, even though i have hintmedium set in ~/.fonts.conf. maybe xfce4 uses the BCI hinter and bypasses the freetype hinter?

• HTML Page not appearing after SAP Upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0

Dear All,
I am novice in ITS and IAC configuration stuff....
Issue: We have a HTML page which shows a tree structure of Functional location and Equipments. A Z transaction is built to cater the requirement. User logs on to the HTML page navigates thru the Tree structure of Functional locations and equipments and the logs the workrequest or Break down details. In 4.6C every thing is working fine. But after Upgrade in Testing Server (We are not go live yet) we are facing a problem where the HTML page with tree structure is skipped off and directly the Z transaction is appearing on the web page.
Did any one faced such issue? Any thoughts is highly appreciable?
Thanks,
Sanjay.

Thanks Frank and Dhurairaj....and sorry for the delay in responding..
I have checked my service in SICF and it is active. I also tried to create a new Service and now I am now getting "500 Connection timed out" error.
Our Z transaction is ZW03 and Service name is ZW03_2.
We are on Netweaver 7 (2004s)
Steps I followed:
1. Created a Service ZW03_2 in SICF (New Sub element) and then Activated.
default host -> SAP -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its
2. Created a folder ZW03_2 under SAP->Public->ITS (Transaction SE80, MIME Repository) and imported all MIME objects into that folder.
3. Created a Internet Service ZW03_2 in SE80. Once I created a Service already there is blank folder Topic 99. Then I created two folders Mime Objects and HTML Templates. Imported all Mime objects into folder "Mime Objects" and Created templates in "HTML Templates" folder. Then I published ..
After doing all the above setting then I tried to test the service and I am getting 500 Connection time out.
Please let me know if I missed any step or if I have done any setting incorrectly.

• Evaluation Path Results change after ECC6 Upgrade

Hi All,
We have upgraded to ECC6 up to and including our QA environment. We are running an old java version of the MSS team viewer. We have a custom evaluation path, a modified version of SAP_MANG (Z_MANG) that we have been using for years. After upgrade any view that involves an organization is showing duplicates...
Example of output
Organization 1
Person 1
Person 2
Organization 1
Person 1
Person 2
Our Z_MANG Evaluation Path looks like this...
No     Obj. Typ.     A/B     Relat     Relat Name      Priority     Relat Obj Typ     Skip
10      *                 B         008       Holder              *               S                        X
20      S                A         012       Manages...      *               O
21      S                A         Z01      Salary Budg     *               *

30      US             A          208      Is Identical to    *               *                         X
Only when we skip No 21 Salary Budg is the problem resolved. Has anyone run into problems after upgrade to ECC60 that the results for an exting evaluation path have changed like this?

not all relationships represent physical data records in the database.  some are derived and without looking at the system, I believe the US 208 to P is a derived relationship.

Hi ,
After Changing the RAM in SAP System ..
1) Increase the No of Work Processes , If Required
2) Increase the size of Memory Areas ( Size of Extended Memory) , If you face any Memory Dumps
3) Increase the SAP Buffer Sizes ( Program Buffer etc.) to have better performance.
But it is not compulsary that you should change these parameters but changing these Paramters Values will improve performance of SYstem

• Subject Key Identifier (SKI) changed after RootCA upgrade

Hello,
I have a RootCA running windows 2003 ENT SP2 and I made an upgrade to a new machine (newer HW) and Windows 2008 R2.  The original rootCA was configured with an HSM, so the backup CA is not an option for me since the keys can not be exported (I dont
have a .p12 file).
I exported the HSM settings together with the keys (HSM vendor's procedure) and during the CA setup wizard, I select the option: "Use existing private key” and then “Select an existing private key on this computer” .  Then I click on "edit"
select the correct CSP (the one from the HSM) and click on "Search".  The private key appears immediately, I select it and i keep going with the installation.  It all goes smoothly and CA services are correctly installed.
The problem is that the SKI of the new CA certificate does not match with the SKI of the original CA certificate, it is changed somehow during the installation.
I have performed the same test, but migrating to another windows 2003 server, and the SKI is kept exactly the same, there is no difference (maybe the way the SKI is generated is different from windows 2003 to 2008).
My applications communicate to each other using this SKI, replacing it everywhere is something that i dont want to consider.
Does somebody know if it is possible to force this setting to be kept?
Thanks in advance
Best regards

Hi Vadims,
Thanks for your reply,  I have been playing a bit with openssl and a CA certificate, and in the meantime i solved the issue, and this is what I "guess" or what I understand from it:
1) If you install CA services and use the options:  select and existing key --> select a certificate  --> then you will have to choose a p12 file which contains both (public and private key) and will use both values to generate a NEW certificate,
but it will NOT generate the SKI value, it will just use the one from the p12 file.  That is why the SKI does not change if you use this option
2) I am using an HSM and the private key is stored there and can not be exported, so, i can not generate a p12 file, in that case, I have the opther option in the wizard:  select an existing key --> use an existing key.... Then i can choose the correct
private key from the HSM once i select the correct CSP... And then the fun begins:
3) Acording to the RFC
For CA certificates, subject key identifiers SHOULD be derived from
       the public key or a method that generates unique values.  Two common
       methods for generating key identifiers from the public key are:
          (1) The keyIdentifier is composed of the 160-bit SHA-1 hash of the
          value of the BIT STRING subjectPublicKey (excluding the tag,
          length, and number of unused bits).
          (2) The keyIdentifier is composed of a four bit type field with
          the value 0100 followed by the least significant 60 bits of the
          SHA-1 hash of the value of the BIT STRING subjectPublicKey
          (excluding the tag, length, and number of unused bit string bits).
4) After all my openssl adventure, it all came down to 2 files containing the public key and the BIT STRING of the public key,  I opened them both and I confirmed that for the SKI generated on the windows 2008 machine, the method used to calculate the
SKI is using the BIT STRING (option (1) from the RFC)
While for the SKI generated in the windows 2003 machine, the method is :  ???????
What I think is that from windows 2003 to windows 2008 the certificate services changed the way they calculate the SKI.
First they were maybe doing a SHA1 of the whole public key and now they are using a SHA1 of only the bitstring of the public key which is more similar to what is said on the RFC (point 1)).
Then I started to look if there was a way to change this, and....

Hi N_niki
There is no resolution as such.
We had raised a Customer message with SAP and were informed that this was expected as the procedure to execute the reports was changed in ECC when compared to 4.6 (technical changes) and hence this issue shall remain for some queries wherein the old changes need to be brought back using an option in the SAP Query.
Please refer to SAP Note # 723577 which could provide a better explanation for the issue.

• Font rendering issue after motherboard upgrade

This is a strange one.
Took hard-disc containing 10.6.7 out of a 2006 MacBook and put it in a 2007 MacBook.
Everything is working 100%, except for some slight differences in fonts. In some apps, they are rendered thicker (seeming only when shadowed), but in one web page (GitHub.com looking at chagesets), a section is rendered with weird Capital A with a box around it (like a WebDing of a picture of a key cap).
Of course, only Safari renders this page that way. OmniWeb and FireFox don't.
Any ideas?

Hi Nigel --
Welcome to Apple Discussions!
We're not staff, but other Mac users here, asking questions and sharing solutions.
We've got a font expert here, and here is Kurt Lang's opinion on capital A's in boxes:
Quote from Kurt Lang on this subject:
+A’s with boxes around them is always a sign of trouble with the main system+
+font, Lucida Grande.+
+Quick possible fix is to remove ALL font cache files from the system to see+
+if it's just bad cache data. For that, you need to use OnyX or other utility+
+which will remove both system and user cache files. A Safe Mode boot won't+
+work since it only removes cache data from the user account you do a safe+

+If after that the problem returns, then Lucida Grande itself is damaged and+

• Why does the font rendering change after I publish to the web?

I created an animation in Edge Animate with four slides, using Open-Sans as the font. The font rendering looks good in Edge Animate and looks good in the local html version as well, but when I publish it to the website, the font formatting is not acceptable.
Here is the local HTML version:
Here is how it appears on the website:
Is there a way to control this better?
Thanks.

Hopefully someone else will be brave enough to respond to this, but in the meantime, the best solution I have found so far is to post the animation files to a separate directory on the server. Then pull that page in using an iframe. This way the animation is not influenced by the parent page's styling.
