WPC: unable to add different resources with the same name into a WPC page

Hi,
I got a WPC problem when adding different KM resources with the same name into a WPC page. Only one KM resource is able to be added in WPC.
For example:
There two "article.html" with different content and RID:
1. /company_a/article.html
2. /company_b/article.html
when adding these two html pages into a WPC page, only one page will be shown.
This means that a WPC page is not able to contain resources with same file names. I think the problem might lie on the resource-linking mechanism of WPC. WPC will add a resource link in the page folder, when a new resource is drag&dropped into WPC.
Anyone has some good ideas to solve my problem? Thanks a lot.

As this is not possible and double entries cause this problem, why not just pu both napes in the contact details on the same number. IE John Smith & Peter Jones all in the first name, by doing this if you search your contacts either by searching for john, peter, smith or jones the number will show up and if either calls the number will show John Smith & Peter Jones, it may not be perfect but will work. As the phone only recognises a number if two seperate entries of the number exist with different names it cannot possibly know who is calling ?

Unable create a target file with the same name

Hi,
I have to pick an attachment from a web service and place the attachment in
a folder, with the same name (Attached File Name). I tried this using SOAP to file
scenario. Using SOAP, I'm able to get the attachment inside PI with the same
name, but not able to generate the file in the receiver end.
Please let me know if this is possible or else is there any other way to do
it.

How does the computer/filing system differentiate the files, if not by their names?
How do you tell the computer which one you want? (On the command line.)

Jdcap, two different libraries with the same name?

I am looking for a network packet capturer and I have found two libraries, both called "Jdcap":
1) [http://netresearch.ics.uci.edu/kfujii/jpcap/doc/index.html]
2) [http://jpcap.sourceforge.net/]
What are the differences between them? Why do the have the same name? Their APIs are totally different. Which one should I use?

Why do the have the same name? Probably because that's an obvious name for a Java library that does packet capture.
Which one should I use?The one that best suits your needs, which you can determine by having well-defined requirements, reading the docs for both, and writing some proof-of-concept code with both.

DPM 2012 R2 Bug: Unable to backup a VM with the same name as an old VM

Scenario:
You have a VM called "Virtual Machine 1" running on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V cluster and you backup this virtual machine using DPM 2012 R2.
You remove "Virtual Machine 1" from DPM, selecting delete replicas and expire all tape backups, and then delete the VM from the cluster as it is no longer required.
Later you create a new virtual machine called "Virtual Machine 1" on the same cluster. You attempt to backup the VM with DPM however when attempting to add the VM to a protection group you get the error "DPM cannot access the path \Online\Virtual
Machine 1 because part of the path has been deleted or renamed. Check the path and enter it again". Refreshing the data source/clearing the cache doesn't help
The only solution I could find that worked was to delete the data source record in DPMDB..tbl_IM_DataSource for the virtual machine. This also required deleting records that referenced the DataSourceId in other tables.

Three different albums with the same name is confusing iPod?

I have three albums which go by the name Greatest Hits. There are three artists on my iPod who both have an album called this. If I am listening to Artist #1 and I switch to Cover Flow, then the album artwork for that album will appear, however the name of Arist #2 or Artist #3 will appear underneath with the song and album title of Artist #1.
Similarly, I searched through the albums to find the Greatest Hits album and it automatically assigned the artwork of Artist #2 to it, but the song by Artist #1 was listed in there along with the songs from Artist #2 and Artist #3.
I hope that all makes sense. I was wondering if this is a bug or simply iTunes/iPod becoming confused and merging the albums together because it thinks it is the same album even though there are different artists.
If this isn't a bug, does anyone know a way I can resolve this issue?

1) Select (in iTunes) one album at a time.
2) Get info on all the songs an make sure the Artist name is the same - and unique from the other two albums.
3) Change as needed.
4) Do the same for all albums.
5) Make sure the artwork is correct for each album.
6) Sync Touch.

Can I create a lot of instance with the same name?

I have, for a project in my studies, to create a map for an adventure game. I must create monsters on this map. For this I use a class that I called Creature. In my class Map i have to initialise the monsters but I
choose their quantity with Math.random() so I don't know how much the map will contain. If in a loop I do: Creature monster = new Creature(); will I have different instances with the same name(I doubt)? Will I have one monster re-created in each iteration of the loop? How can I do to have different monsters in different places (my map is a matrix 2x2)?

You would have many Creature references made, but only one variable to hold them, and it would go out of scope outside your loop. You could create a Creature array or use a List (both defined outside your loop) - as

We have multiple report clusters on the same subnet.
If clusters have the same name, then how you can view them in the report queue?

Suppose your cluster is cluster1. Now if another organization starts a reports server with the same extension (eg, rep123.cluster1), then that reports server will become part of your cluster.
So the summary is that you cannot have 2 different clusters with the same name in the same subnet. That is why it is necessary that you choose a name that you think should be unique.

2 Users with the same name/shortname on the same machine

What will happen if:
There is a local user called Bob and a network user on a server called Bob? Before you even post anything, please let me know if you have actually SEEN this before. I know something will happen, I just don't know what. Again, 2 different users with the same name. YES it is possible to create, but I have not tested it yet. One home is on the local machine and the other is a network home directory. I didn't post this in the server section for this reason...the question is about a client machine running 10.5.4 not server, so it belongs here! Thanks to all who help and my guess is a dialog box pops up with a choice of network or local? Not sure, but it is going to be quite an interesting topic.

Thank you both. It seems I need to test this because it doesn't seem anyone has ever run into this situation. The first thing I need to ask is will it do any damage to the system files if a user logs in with the same resolving name?I know I know the UIDs are different, but maybe have the same shortname? Not sure if it will work. The network users authenticate via LDAP and the server is set to an Open Directory Master. Now as for the client machine:
#1 - If I create both test users (local and network), will I be able to set the network as a Mobile Home Directory even though there is an existing home folder for the local user?
#2 - I want one specific user to have the same login name and password, but a different login "reaction" when the user logs in depending on the location. For example, I have a current network user Bob, password 1234 who is logged in and connected to the server. He finishes working on his project at the office and then goes home for the day. When he gets home, I want his to be able to login with the user name Bob, connecting to the local account on his machine. I DO NOT want to user PHDs, but rather have two separate home folders for the same resolving login user name! I know it is a lot to ask for but, here is my next question...
#3 - If I create two different home folders for the same resolving name, but they are accessed in two different locations, one with a server LDAP authentication and one locally (127.0.0.1), will it work?

BUG: LabVIEW 8.6 crashes when you save a class vi with the same name

I am running into an annoying crash. If you try to add a VI with the same name to an existing class, LabVIEW will notify you that you made an error. Once you hit OK, LabVIEW crashes. Obviously, the workaround is not to save any VI with the same name as an existing VI to your class.

I have attached a ZIP file with an example project. Open the project and open one of the VIs in Test Class. Choose File->Save As. Choose Copy->Open additional copy. Make sure the box for Add copy to Test Class.lvclass is checked.
Do NOT try to save the VI over top of the existing VI. Go to a new folder and save the VI without changing the name. LabVIEW will save the VI, then inidcate it cannot add the file due to a naming conflict. Once you hit OK, LabVIEW may or may not hang for a few seconds, then crash.
When LabVIEW restarts, it does not indicate anything happened. It just comes up with the standard startup screen.
I stumbled across this attempting to create a copy of an existing VI, but forgetting to change the name.
I confirmed this does not happen in LabVIEW 8.5.1, so the behavior is new to 8.6.

Schedule parallel activities on different resources for the same period

Hi,
I am trying to create a PPM where I need to define parallel activities on different resources for the same time period.
For example:
Input prod: P1
Output prod: O1
Now I define a dummy activity A1 to define this consumption i.e. 1 PC of P1 gives 1 PC of O1.
Now I have got 3 resources R1, R2, R3.
I define 3 activities A2, A3, A4 for these resources.
Now I have to arrange activities A2, A3, A4 such that they start simultaneouly after activity A1 and also end simultaneouly.
The Fixed duration for all the resources is 1 week.
My requirement is that out of these resources system should plan for demand considering the resource with minimum capacity
i.e. kind of bottleneck resource.
I am using CTM engine for planning.
I have defined A1 as predecessor for all the 3 activities A2, A3, A4 and after completion all the activities have a dummy successor activity S.
But this setting is not working and PPM is not getting exploded, If I use a normal linear relationship between activities it works fine but my requirement is not getting satisfied.
Can anyone please help me in this case or suggest some alternate method.

I think you have to delete the old Dev system and then generate new solman key.

Hi,
Unless you really need tight integration between the Vision code and the rest of your LabVIEW application, or would rather not have to pay for a Vision Builder AI runtime license on the targets on which you want to deploy your final application, I would recommend you look into using the Vision Builder AI LabVIEW API instead of migrating the inspection to LabVIEW.
The API allows to control Vision Builder AI by launching a Vision Builder AI engine, running the inspection and retrieving resulting images and results.
The advantage of the API is that it allows for easier modification and debugging of the Vision Inspection that you designed in Vision Builder, if you need to make changes later. (i.e. all you need to do is open the inspection in Vision Builder AI, modify parameters, add steps etc).
You won't have to change your LabVIEW application, unless you want to output additional results.
When you build and deploy your application, you will need to install Vision Builder AI on the target machine and get a runtime license for it.
Migrating the inspection to LabVIEW is a one way deal. If you need to make changes to the inspection, you will have to migrate the inspection again, or modify the code outside of the Vision Builder AI environment.
As you might have noticed, the code generated is quite complex, and it is recommended to go this route only if you need really tight integration/synchronization between the vision code and the rest or your LabVIEW code, or if you would rather pay for a cheaper Vision runtime license rather than a VBAI runtime license for the deployment machine (in case of deploying multiple systems where cost is a big consideration).
Vision Builder AI API examples are located in this folder:

How to apply different keyboard shortcuts to an actions with the same name but in different menus within one application?

Hopefully someone can help. I have the application "djay" and in two different menus there is the action "Eject". I was wondering if it's possible to apply different keyboard shortcuts to those actions with the same name? I can't see how to do it as it seems you can only write the action but as there are two it doesn't seem to work for me.
For example:

djay>Table-2>Eject - ⌘⇧0

Two AM's with the same name but different forms causes Deployment problems

Two Masters forms, DOC & PM are cloned except for the "where clause" in the View's query and the titles in their JSP's.
DOC workspace has a BC project and a BC4JSP Project. The BC project comprises of the EO and VO named ComVsStaticValue. In the Edit prop-> query for the VO I have specified the "where clause" as VSSV_VS_CODE='DOCTOR'.
In Java Webserver :-
The JSP's are located in C:\source\Doctor\ .. and the *.xml and *.class files generated by the BC proj is in C:\source\Doctor\pol_ValueSet\..
If I execute Doctor in JWS the records are getting filtered properly.

I want to know whether this problem is because both have the same name for the AM and the BC4JSP's property file.

Deploying two app modules with the same name will definitely cause problems.
The JSPs use the information in the properties file to connect to the application module and get the data they need from the appropriate View Objects in those app modules. If you have two app modules with the same name, when a JSP tries to connect, it has no way of knowing which one of the app modules to connect to if they both have the same name.
You could:
1. Just use one application module that contains all the View Objects you need to access.
or
2. Rename one of the application modules or the package it is located in so the names are distinct. If you choose this method, you will also need to update the JSPs (specifically the 'registerApplicationFrompPopertyFile' method call), and your JSP project's appmodule property file.
