Hi Orhunk,
Considering this application is developed by yourself ,it is more likely a developing issue .It is recommended to look for help from our MSDN Forum to confirm the application can work correctly. The people there are more experienced in developing .

  • Putting PDFs into Kiosk mode on iPad

Can you put an iPad into Kiosk mode (disable of screen menu's etc.) while viewing a PDF?
We have a product catalogue that we'd like to display on our iPad at an Exhibition... the iPad stand will disable the home button, but a PDF will still display screen menu's once tapped.
I have seen KioskPro as an App but it does 1000 more things than we actually need - so I wondered whether there was a dead simple solution out there?
I have done a fair bit of browsing on this, but not found a straight answer... yet I'm sure it's done every day!!
    Thanks

    Hi Simbek,
Kiosk Pro and Kiosk Pro Plus will display PDFs.
Its capabilities are descibed here: http://kioskproapp.com/help.html#settings_pdf
    Have fun,

  • VI server application runs under debug mode but not other wise

I have an application which uses VI server to call vi's on my targets hard drive. When I run this using the highlight execution( or debug ) this works OK, however when I run without this I get error 66, connection closed by peer. When I look at my target using a direct monitor connection I get various messages relating to memory errors. I have run virtually the same code calling a simpler application and this seems to work fine, however when I simply target the RT engine with the same code ( using the RT comms wizard construction) I don't get a problem. This should, I think, be using the same amount of memory. What is the best was of assessing the memory available against the memory required? Do anyone have a
ny ideas as to why the VI should run with execution highlighted and not without. I have tried adding delays so simulate this but it doesn't seem to work.

Check out this KnowledgeBase article. It describes how to enable a memory monitoring tool that might help solve your problem.

  • By using GPO alone, can I turn a Windows machine into kiosk mode?

Want to use two Windows machines in library with restricted access to everything other than any browser installed with desktop to access internet.

This might work, but I suspect that you will have many more problems due to hardware drivers on the Dell HD.  The OS installed there will be looking for specific hardware, and almost guaranteed the Virtual Box emulated hardware won't be the same, and most likely it will be different enough to prevent the Dell Windows installation from booting.  Now, If you can use the Parallels Transporter, or the VMWare equivalent, I believe that they take care of stripping the hardware specific drivers when they create a virtual machine, but I don't know if Virtual Box has such a tool.

  • Apple Kiosk Mode

My sister was randomly pressing letters on my iMac G5 when it went into kiosk mode. What did she press?

A full-screen appearance mode can be turned on by using function keys, in
some of what I've read; this is sometimes referred to as 'kiosk mode'
while that is a misnomer because there are other documented ways to have
a Mac run in a more purely "kiosk" situation; this has been around for years.
However the simpler forms of this usually involve browsers or other apps
which can use a basic keyboard shortcut. A 'true kiosk mode' may require
an alteration within the software, or a companion application to engage it.
Accidentally engaged it? There is a high unlikelihood of sophistication in
arriving at that situation; it probably is not running a true 'kiosk' mode.
To escape whatever it is, you may try starting up in SafeBoot mode, and
then read the Console logs of the time when the person was using the Mac.
    {I've found tons of relevant 'kiosk' related information, in google search;
I remember seeing G3 iMacs running in full kiosk mode, when sold new.
    They even had touch-screen technologies for retail, to use CRT access.}
Some browsers used to be able to go into 'full-screen' mode through use
of function keys; such as F-11. Not sure what app the computer was using
but the field of difficulty limits the probability of how this was done.
The big search that gets me more results than apply in this instance, uses
the words ' *mac os x help: use mac in kiosk* ' - in google search.
There was a mention among others, of a way to use Parental controls to
engage a type of kiosk-like mode; but I did not read into those. I remember
seeing demos of kiosk mode Macs, starting way back in OS 9, in retail.
And that was in a small AK reseller's shop. Also, a few malls had them.
Hopefully some of this helps. I think a restart, especially if you have more
than one user account, could resolve this main issue. You may be able to
use the escape key or other command to get the display normal, too.
iTunes player can go full screen (and back) with simple commands, etc.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Kiosk Mode for a few of WinRT App

    Hi,
Please move this thread to appropriate section if required as I don't know which section to place.
Current Kiosk Mode for Win8.1 Tablet run only one WinRT App. My client wants to put a few WinRT app into Kiosk Mode. Please kindly extend your help on this matter.
    Thanks

    Hi,
First, I have to say that So far your only option to create a Windows Kiosk where your users and customers could interact with a
single application without the risk of compromising the system was to use Windows Embedded.
If you want to control usage of several apps for an account, I recommend you try the Family safety feature.
Family Safety helps you set limits on your child's PC time, as well as the websites, apps, and games they can use (and when).

  • Creating autostart DVD in kiosk mode?

I need to create a DVD or video file that will run in kiosk mode for an exhibit we have up. Since I've never done this before I have a few questions.
    1. The video has already been created by our local cable TV folks and they said they can save it in any format we need. My first question is: what formats will work best?
    2. It looks like just using the autostart feature in iDVD will allow me to create the DVD that will run automatically. Do I need to do anything to make it loop continuously?
    3. One last question that might be beyond this forum: Is there a way (script, etc.) that we can start up the computer daily and have it shut down automatically, and begin running the DVD automatically? We'll be disconnecting the keyboard and mouse so that folks can't mess with the computer.
Thanks in advance for your advice/ideas.
    Patrick

    Hi
    1. StreamingDV .DV or QuickTime full quality and as .mov
    2. Don't know if this can be done.
I would in iDVD import movie into Autostart box (in box view - upper left most box)
    then Select Looping.
I guess that a normal TV & DVD set-top player might autostart when mains returns.
But You have to try out first to be sure.

  • Kiosk Mode & RemoteApp

I have a Windows 8.1 RT tablet that I'd like to allow users to run one of our kiosk desktop applications. We are using RemoteApp to publish it (from WS2012 Essentials). The application is designed to run in kiosk mode (a feature of the application)
and it works well. However, because I am running it as a RemoteApp on a tablet, users can still swipe in from the side to get the charms bar or tap the Windows icon on the tablet to bypass the kiosk mode.
I tried to be sneaky and use the built in kiosk mode of 8.1 and allow the Modern app Remote Desktop (published by Microsoft) for a local user. This does actually run Remote Desktop and properly lists the RemoteApp as one the Work Resources. However, it won't
    let me open it.
I just want to run this RemoteApp on the tablet and restrict users from bypassing it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Need Safari showing Full screen in Kiosk Mode

    What we need:
150 iPads shall start a web page in Full Screen Mode and they shall not be able to leave the Webpage (Exam-situation). I can set the safari into Kiosk Mode but the Safari is not full screen. On the other hand I can create a web app, which is full screen but I cannot start the web app in Kiosk Mode. What I really need is to start a web app in Kiosk Mode. Any Hints? We really need a solution for that.
    Cheers
    Detlef

There is an app specifically for this with complete control of your web content and you can setup a secret admin pin which is the only way to disable the app and exit the kiosk session you setup. The app is totally free and also has very cool hardware support for expanded capabilities check it out:

  • Help!: Control reference seamingly "lost" in run-time execution mode

    Hi!
    The Facts:
    LabView 6.1 PC under NT.
I've been using "Vi loader" technique since a few month s to distribute a LabView application on severals PCs without having to re-compile it each time. My application uses more than 500 VIs so I can't build it directly. The directories/Vis of the application are simply copied on the target PC and run through the Vi loader technique instead of using the development environnement.
    The problem:
Since the last release of the my application, differences between the application running in development mode or run-time mode have appeared:
One VI reading a .ini file does not act the same way if runned in the developpment environnment or
runned in the run-time environnment. This VI uses control-references from its front-panel and passes them to sub vis. In run-time execution those references seems to be perverted: the sub-vis get them but can't access their properties like Label Name, Values,...
All works perfectly fine if the VI is runned in the environnment developpment.
Moreover the same sub-vis called with other control references in other VIs work fine.
    Question:
Has anyone seen any behavioral difference between run-time execution and development environnement execution?
Are there any differences in the linkage process between those 2 execution ways?
Is there any labview Feature that would automaticaly "de-allocate" references at run time and would do so "too early"?
Is there any know problem with poly-morphique VIS in run-time execution mode.
That's all, any idea, lead, wellcome!

    Hi Andrew!
I've allready had a look at the "Problem with VI Loader technique". It only deals with top vis not working (ie broken) when called from loader in Run-Time mode because of ill declared vi.lib path.
It's "unfortunately" not my problem: My VI is not broken, it's kind'a working, but not as it does in development environment execution mode.
If NI people are reading this, I would like to send them the VI and it sub-VIs to understand if something has been perverted .
The problem is seen on all three target PCs.
Moreover, a new one has appeared: in run-time mode, the standard "file dialog" vi called to prompt the user for a file with a given extension pattern sends back the file name with the extension "double dotted" (exemple: anything..data
    instead of anything.data).
About the first problem, does any know why a Ctrl Refnum would loose its parent information (name, value...) in run-time execution mode?
    Bye!

  • Safari in kiosk mode?

    Hi,
Is it possible to turn my machine into kiosk mode with Safari or Firefox?
For now I don't want to use Opera as my website uses Typekit and 3D CSS...
I read mixed reviews about Saft, so wouln't like to throw money just to learn it won't work properly. Could anyone confirm it works?
I'd love to hear from people who successfully turned their Macs into kiosks. Thanks.

iCab has a kiosk mode. I've never used the kiosk mode but I think iCab has had it for10 years or so.

  • WEC7 and Kiosk Mode - performance

    Hi everyone
Does anyone know the benefits regarding memory and performance from running in Kiosk Mode compared to Windows Shell on WEC7?
Is there much to be gained?
    Regards
    Terry

Performance is not the reason to run Kiosk mode.  Not running the shell will free up a little RAM and burn a few less CPU cycles, but that is minor.
    Run in Kiosk mode because:
You don't want the desktop to show, ever
You don't want users to accidentally get to the desktop
You don't want users to maliciously get to the desktop
You want to be fully in control of the user experience

    Does pressing the F11 key help ? <br />
You may need to press an Fn key in addition, if you have one.
You can also try to move the mouse pointer to the top of the window to make the Navigation toolbar appear and open the right-click context menu. You should see an "Exit Full Screen Mode" item in that menu.
