I want to use oracle express edition with windows encrypted file system. I tried some possibilities like encrypting xe folder. But connection can not be established when efs is used. Is there a compatibility problem between oracle xe and windows efs? On Oracle's page, it is declared that oracle database is compatible with Windows EFS.

Pl identify which version of Win 7 - 32-bit or 64-bit ? Home version or something else ?
The 11g XE install is only available for 32-bit version of Win 7 Professional or higher - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/install.112/e18803/toc.htm#BABHICJH. If you are installing on 64-bit version or Home version of Windows, then you are on your own. What is the reason for enabling EFS on this database ?

can i use airport express with with windows 7 and play itunes wirelessly? i don't exactly understand the table on the tech specs page.

I am having a problem trying to get the new version of itunes to download correctly to my laptop. I have updated my ipad to the new ios 7, and windows is showing that it has been downloaded but when I connect my ipad, it is saying I have to download itune

I have a laptop that runs with windows vista, and I have been having issues trying to get it to download the new version of itunes that would be compatible to the new version of ios 7 that I have already updated on my ipad. I have downloaded this three times, it shows that the download is complete, but when I connect my ipad to my laptop it is still telling me that I have to download the new version again and it will not sync with my ipad until I do. Does anyone else have this issue and can anyone help me figure out how to correct it? I would be most grateful!!

How come a USB will work with both Mac and Windows (as in that there are already files from Windows and Mac can still read and write onto it) but a external Hard Drive won't (as in there are files from Windows on there but Mac can read but not write)?

I have a Seagate Drive that I'm hoping to copy some movies from my Mac onto (because it only has a 512 SSD and I'd rather keep that empty and handy for more readily needed files) but it won't work. It shows up as a drive when connected (with the orange USB drive icon popping up) and is appropirately labeled "FreeAgent Drive", but when I try to copy files onto it it won't work. There are already windows files on there, such as some windows backups and lot's and lot's of pictures and videos. However, I have several USBs which already have windows files on them (namely movies, music, and other stuff) and copying and stuff works fine. Why won't it work with this hard drive and would work with USBs? Please help me out here guys, I am not experienced with Hard disks and formatting and stuff like that. 10 points for whoever helps me out the most. Thanks.

We will need to reformat your EXT, but it will then work on both Mac and Win
Connect the drive to your Mac, open disk utility
Go to the partiton tab and select '1' ... format should be ExFAT ... in options select MBR
Format the drive
It should now work on both OSs; report back

I cant put .xesc in decoder (microsoft Expression Encoder) or windows movie player

tell me how we can decode an .xesc after renaming it cause if I double click it it plays but when I drag into wmm it says it not compatable please send a solution back please

I've had pretty good luck with Flip4Mac. Here's a blurb about what it will translate (thru Quicktime):
Advanced Systems Format (ASF), Advanced Stream Redirector (ASX) and Audio Video Interleaved (AVI). The plug-in can also handle Windows Media Video (WMV) containers, which have the same roots as ASF. The Microsoft's audio container, Windows Media Audio (WMA) is also supported by this plug-in.
One quick question....you downloaded it, but did you install it? Sorry if that's a dumb question for you, but, for some, it's a reasonable concern.
All that being said, if you're asf isn't playing, possibly it doesn't conform to a standard compatible with F4M. Occasionally I will run across a file that says it's a wmv, but hiding underneath is an unsupported codec, which renders it unplayable on a Mac with F4M, or anything else.
Sometimes VLC will play content that nothing else will.

ITunes and Windows 8.1 OS compatiblity

Hello all,
I am having absolute fits getting iTunes video to play through Windows 8.1 OS. Is there a patch, or update, or something??
I have gone into properties and checked the box to "make compatible with Windows 8." I have to wonder, since my OS is 8.1 is that possibly what is not making the connection with "compatibility mode" here?
If so, is there a solution? I had another laptop running Windows 7 and the program works just fine! The key word there is had.
I've 'chatted' with a Windows rep. She told me to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it to see if that will fix the problem. I have not done that yet (I'm not sure if all the programming I have already downloaded will go with the uninstall....).

Right.. I have installed windows 8.1 and now iTune will not see any Apple devices I connect to my computer.
From the computer I can access any Apple device I connect to it (picture folder for example).
Latest version of iTunes is installed....
Is this a but with Windows 8.1 or ... ???

Abode XI and Windows 8.1 not compatible

Every time I work with a PDF in Adobe XI (11.0.03) with Windows 8.1 I get a "not responding" message and the screen freezes. I have already disabled protected mode as advised in the forum, but that didn't work. Any fixes?

L420 and Windows 8 Defender not compatible?

Althougth Lenovo claims that the L420 is Windows 8 compatible, MS Defender slows down Windows Explorer extremely. Drive ICONs take a long time to show up. When I switch off Defender, every things comes up quickly.
I have switched to AVAST! Free and everything seems to work just fine, although AVAST is works-in-progess at this time.

Exporting to Media Encoder and file locating issue

Ok, Now I've read a LOT of threads trying to find a solution to this but none of them have answered my problem exactly, so here's what I have:
Running a New computer with a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit and Adobe CS4 Master Suite
Hardware:
Dell Precision M6400
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9900 @ 3.06 Ghz, 3.07 Ghz
12.0 GB Ram
Premiere ran fine for a while, but soon I've run into a problem where I try to export to the Media Encoder and I keep getting the error:
"Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted" over and over
I have deleted recently imported media one at a time to try and locate what's causing it since it wasn't doing this before, but no luck. So I restarted the program but now the Premiere project won't open. The task bar loads until about 2/3 in and stops there indefinitely, I've left and came back to it 2 hours later and it hadn't moved. I back tracked and found a previous save that will open, but it still will not export, it still says "Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted". And as soon as I update anything and save a new file that one will not open either.
I've tried recompressing each video file into a format I know works well with Premiere but still no difference.
This problem has plagued my workflow for a while now and I can't take it anymore. I've had to restart clean project files to try to work around it but I lose so much progress, and the work around by rendering the premiere file through After effects hasn't worked either. The error I get there says "Dynamic link server is busy".
Here's what the problem is not: It is not because I uninstalled CS3 or any other previous version, I've never had it on this computer. It's not a plugin problem, I don't have any plugins on this install except for the default ones that Came with Adobe Master Suite for Premiere Pro.
Someone please help me, this is ridiculous that I have had to trouble shoot the program this much. Both CS4 and Windows 7 have been around for over a year now and neither are in Beta Editions

Wow, sorry, forgive me if I've seen most forums work with a lot less, and your dismissiveness led me to assume you hadn't read my post.
All of this is new and up do date as far as Adobe and Windows updates go, that's Version 4.2.1.
My projects for this are all in NTSC Widescreen DV 24P, the particular sequence that I render from is in that format as well, although regardless of which one I use the problem keeps occurring.
My renders for my recent purposes have been compressed in .h264, IPOD video Large. The codec I'm rendering in also doesn't seem to matter, because I've tried this in .avi., .mov, .h264, .wav, etc. and all with various settings that I thought might help, but the encoder quits encoding 4 seconds in and gives me the error that it can't find the media.
And I didn't mention the media type and what not because it seems irrelevent of what I use this problem keeps happening. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the project file or perhaps the media encoder or both.
And I don't know what you mean by "disks"
Do I have a Raid set up on my hard disk? No, I have two 0.5 TB hard drives, Programs on one (C:\) Projects on the other (D:\).
What address am I saving the scratch disks to? I use the default of "same as Project". Have I tried Clearing it? Yes.
I don't think I'm getting at what you're asking.
And I don't think I've ever used an .xlsm (which is excel?) file and I've definitely never used a Power point project (PPS?) file in my projects. And they open in their respective programs, although I'm not sure why you asked about that. Again I'm not sure I know what you mean.
The Premiere Project (.prproj) file is what I'm trying to open when the progress bar stops at 2/3 the way through and forces me to terminate the process with the task manager to close it.
It would help to mention that all my projects are animated and I use premiere to cobble them together, so no problems that relate to transferring media from a camera to the computer would apply here. Most of the files I get out of Maya are in Default .avi or .mov files, and I also use a handful of .wav files for the dialogue and .jpgs for cards and placeholders.
I believe that this problem began when I updated a few of the files in my project, but I've been doing that for weeks without incident. I've been updating them by saving over the old media file with the updated one of the same name, length, and type.
I don't work exclusively with Premiere, in fact it's not what I usually use, that would be Final Cut Pro.

I am reading far too many negative comments regarding Photoshop CS5 installation but it seems that they are mainly due to type of system and Windows version etc. Is the above system and Windows 7 Home Premium compatible enough for this software?

Has anyone tried home sharing between mac and windows using parallels on the same machine?

I recently purchased a mac, and plan to set up parallels for windows and windows 7 so that I can use the Windows version of Over Drive Media Console from the library and download WMA files in windows (limitation with mac version for wma downloads). I would like to synch to iTunes on the Mac iOS, but will need iTunes available in Windows to transfer the books I download in WMA format from the library to my iphone. Has anyone tried this? In case anyone is interested, last night I installed Paralells, Windows, Overdrive Media Console on Windows, and then was able to download my book in WMA format. I was hoping parallels would allow me to crossover sync to iTunes on the Mac and have Overdrive recognize that I had iTunes open, but I had to choose Windows or Mac when connecting my phone through the USB and had to choose Windows in order for it to successfully transfer. I was able to get it to work it is now synced to iTunes in Windows. The nice thing was that it pulled in all my music/apps that I had set up in the Mac side, so I didn't have to go through that exercise again. I tested it on my old phone. Now I need to decide if I want to set up my current phone on Windows or Mac, it seems that once synched it only opens the device in windows, I haven't figured out how to force the choice between mac or window again. If I do windows, I can't take advantage of the cloud or iphoto/imovie directly. I'm totally new to mac, but I think I'll have to import my photos manually.

Where is the web root directory in Database 10g Express Edition and APEX

I'm developing a mod_plsql application with database express edition and the APEX version that comes with.
It works fine for developing mod_plsql applications(http://localhost:8080/apex/mypackages), but I could not find the different web directories to put my static html documents, css, gifs etc.
I could also not find a way to configure the webserver.
There's no apache installed.
Can somebody help me.

Z10 vs H264 Live Smooth Streaming under IIS 7 and Expression Encoder 4

First, sorry about my english, I habitually speak french.
I just got my Z10 today and I'm trying to figure out how to stream live to that kind of device via Live Smooth Streaming, running on a win2k8 server feeded by MS Expression Encoder 4 (w/ H264 codec). I'm very far to be a developper or programmer, but I'm actually able to push streams for different devices, such as Windows Mobile and iOS devices since 3 years. I configured a new stream with different recommended specs supported by the Z10, but it always returns me than "this type of media is not supported and cannot be played". By example, in Expression I use a profile named "H264 Low Bandwidth" with these preconfigured standards settings:
H.264 Baseline Level 1,3
Video: CBR-1pass, 30fps, 347kbps, 364x272
Audio: AAC-LC, stereo 128k, 44khz, 16bps)
I tried so much settings in video and/or audio without succes than I started to think that I'm too stupid to understand what's going on! I'm absolutely following the medias specs on https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/develop/supported_media/bb10_media_support.html
In an IOS situation, I push the code like: http://10.10.10.200/campus.isml/manifest(format=m3u8-aapl).m3u8 where (format=m3u8-aapl).m3u8 is especially the part that an idevice recognizes. I removed this part, remove only the (.) content, removed the manifest word, removed all and so on. Never been able to got a single image or a sound.
Is there an option like (format=somethingelse) that I need to type somewhere? Please don't answer me to google it, I already asked 100 times to google and read tons of pages and I know it's very annoying for expert if the question was answered somewhere else (which I didn't found...) but I needs a hint.
