WPS error
I have recently upgraded my Virgin Hub to the super hub 2, I have always had a HP C4780 printer and I have never been able to connect wireless. I have tried the trouble shooting steps to try and do this (through push button) however It keeps coming up with WPS error.
I thought I nearly had it when a message came up on the screen to tell me to turn the printer on and off but still no luck!
Can anyone help me?!
I have tried to run a wireless network test and the 802.11 networks reveal my router there, so the printer is clearly picking up my printer, it just for some reason does not want to connect wirelessly.
Any help to try and solve this would be great!
Hey @JonnyP , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're running into connectivity issues. I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first. I am linking a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. With this information we can provide you with accurate information.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
In the meantime, I would recommend this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
Please click “Accept as Solution " if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the right to say “Thanks" for helping!

IBM WPS: Error While Creating App and Int Server Connections in JDev 10g
Hi,
I have been struggling to create App Server and Int Server connections in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 without any luck.
The JDeveloper is present on VM ware machine from which I'm trying to establish the connections to remote server where SOA Suite 10g is installed on IBM Websphere.
My Settings:
App Server:
Connection Type: Standalone OC4J 10.1.3
RMI: tried WC_defaulthost port, 6003, RMI default port (How do I get the actual value of RMI on IBM Websphere and does this really make a difference?)
Connection test fails with Mbean error. Ignored this error as documented in Installation guide.
Int Server:
Used the above App Server connection, gave the http port value of 9700 (also the WC_defaulthost on IBM Websphere)
Connection test fails for App Server, BPEL PM Server and ESB Server.
I have gone through other threads where different workarounds were suggested but none of them worked for me. The workaround of adding the property ipaddr with the value 0.0.0.0 in opmn.xml doesn't hold good here as IBM WPS doesn't have OPMN.
Please suggest a working solution for this issue.
Regards,
CCThe below message comes when you don't specify any default file for your webcenter portal application and this should not be any problem.
Target Portal.jpr is not runnable, using default target index.html.
Can you answer to my questions:
1. Did you just created a new wcp application in jdev and ran it with out doing any changes? If you have done what are the changes?
2. How did you ran your application? (right clicking a particular page or right clicking your portal project and selected "run" option? -
Windows 8.1 - Wi-Fi WPS errors
I can unable to upload the error log, due to the fact that I do not know where it is :P
But, anyway, I was trying to connect to my mobile hotspot via WPS, but when I attempted to connect to the Wi-Fi. The last thing that happened was Getting Settings from Wi-Fi or something like that. The computer had detected a problem so it came to the screen
where you it has the sad face as the Header and was collecting information.
The error was like SQL_not_equal...something like that...
If you can help me find the error log, please do and I will try my best to upload it to any Certified Microsoft Staff or Trustworthy Users.
Please respond ASAP
Thanks! There are windows 8.1 drivers available for your system.Did you check this link?

Yes, I think you also need to install "lib32-gcc".
"lib32-gcc" and "lib32-gcc-libs" can replace "gcc" and "gcc-libs" without a problem. -
HP Deskjet Printer has stopped connecting wirelessly?
My HP Dekjest 3050 printer has been working perfectly well for approximately one year. it has suddenly decided it cannot locate my home wireless network?! The blue 'wireless' light is flashing slowly and on the HP support website the solution is to move the device closer to the router. I have done this but to no avail. When I connect manually through a USB connection it is fine so the printer is working, but the wireless function has come to a grinding halt.
If I can find a solution it would be great (or someone I can talk to who can help me)?
Many thanksHello Steve,
Thanks for the feedback, if the printer is reporting a WPS error, then your printer is attempting to connect itselves to your router using the Wireless Protected setup, this can be via either a button press on your router (if supported by your router) or via a PIN code generated by the router you got.
I would try to cancel this or disable the attempt to connect it via the WPS setup and try to config the settings via USB cable or with the Wizard wireless setup (if available in your printer). This would make it easier if the WPS is not a option, the way I see it, is that at the time being, your printer is in a loop and attempt to keep reconnecting and if not supported, then it will keep failing.
If you can not cancel this loop then a reset might be required, in this case I would recommend to contact your local HP support so that they can execute a reset and reset it all to default settings, from there on they can assist you with the install and reconfig of your printer.
Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
van Baardewijk -
Switched to Comcast and can't connect printer
Hi,
I have a Photosmart C4780 and I just recently switched to Comcast for Wifi. I have a macbook pro and run on Mavericks 10.9.4.
I've tried to set it up using WPS but I keep getting "WPS Error" on the printer's screen.
I've looked through various posts and troubleshooting articles but no luck.Hi @VaneV , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you are experiencing connectivity issues. I would like to help.
I would recommend following this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
Please click “Accept as Solution " if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

HP C4780 will not connect to wireless router
I have the HP C4780 printer and a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5. I have been able to install the printer software to my computer with the USB cable, and I am able to print as long as it is hooked up with the USB cable.
I want to set it up wirelessly though, and I keep getting error messages. I have reinstalled the software, I've updated the software on my Mac, and I've installed new firmware from my router.
I have the Netgear N600 Dual Band Router (WNDR3400v3). Both bands have SSID with WPA2-PSK. I tried switching to WPA-PSK but that did not make any difference.
The wireless radio on my printer is on (light is on), and I have restored the network defaults. I have tried doing the WifFi protected setup with the 'push button' (my netgear router has the WPS button on it). My router will blink after I push the WPS button and my printer says 'trying to connect', but I just keep getting "WPS error". I've also tried setting up the wireless using the USB cable and my installation cd, but when I get to the place where I can put in my network name it just keeps saying 'network unavailable'. I'm sitting right in from of the router, and my computer that I'm running the cd on is connected to that network.
I've run the network test report and it says the printer cannot find the router. It says the wireless is on and working, but Network name (SSID) = FAIL. Also in the configuration summary under the SSID the name it shows does not match the SSID for my router. I'm not sure if this matters or not though.
When I print out the Network Configuration Page it shows that everything is enabled. I also printed off a list of 802.11 networks discovered, and my router's SSID in on the list (I'm in an apartment complex so there are quite a few on the list).
Sorry this is so long. I don't know that much about computers, so I'm not sure what is pertinant or not. I've just tried everything I can think of but nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!You need to reinstall the full featured software and drivers. Now try.
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos Thumbs Up to the right in the post.

C4780 Wireless setup on MacBook Air
Hi
I recently upgraded to a MacBook Air (running Mountain Lion) and I have changed my internet provider. This means that when I try and use my printer wirelessly, I have no way of setting up the WiFi as my laptop does not have a C.D drive and so I cannot use the original installation C.D.
Whenever I try and use the WPS push button setup, the printer tells me there is a WPS error every time and so I cannot connect that way either.
Is there anything I can do?Does your router have WPS? That is the easiest way. Start WPS on the pirnter, then within 2 minutes start WPS on the router.
If not, this procedure is clunky, but works:
1. On the front of the printer: Start [Scan] > Wireless > Restore Defaults.
2. On your Mac look for a wireless network named 'hpsetup'. Connect to it.
3. Back on the printer in the wireless menu, print a Wireless Network Test.
4. Type the printer's IP address into Safari.
5. On the printer's internal settings page in Safari, click on the Network tab and run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
6. Connect your Mac back to your main wireless network.
7. Add the printer normally in System Prefs > Print & Scan.

Networking problem with desk jet 3052a J611
Greetings,
I realize there are multiple posts on this topic, and I've tried them all with no success. Used to have this printer connected to the wifi at our previous house with no problem. Moved to a different house and have Comcast now with a Cisco router, model DCP3939 with Xfinity. This router has 2 networks; a 2.4 and 5.0 ghtz. I didnt want that, but that came with the best deal offered. The computer I'm connecting with is a MacBook Pro with OS 10.9.4. I've tried to connect with both the push button and PIN methods and get a WPS error everytime.. When I printer the error report, there's no additional information other than "Failed". Thanks for your time, and please advise.
bkHello laketime,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're receiving problems connecting the Deskjet 3052A J611 over your wireless network. I will do my best to assist you! I noticed you stated that you have a dual band router, which provides 2.4GH and 5.0GH. HP printers connect to the 2.4GHz frequency band and the 20 MHz bandwidth only. Are you connecting this printer using the 2.4GH or the 5.0GH?
To manage the different bands and what devices connect to each, try assigning a unique SSID (network name) to each band. For example, name the 2.4 GHz band to “Mynetwork” and the 5.0 GHz band to “Mynetwork-5G”. Communication and connectivity issues might occur with the printer connected to the 2.4 GHz band and the computer connected to the 5 GHz band. Try connecting the computer to the 2.4 GHz band. Source: Tips and Workarounds for Common Wireless Network Printer Issues.
Does this router support Bonjour since you're using a Mac computer? I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!

Printer will not connect to new BT Home Hub 5
Hello all
I have just received a new BT home hub 5. I am using an Apple Mac Pro which has connected fine to the new home hub but my printer won't connect via wireless. The printer advises me to "Press WPS button on router to connect" which I am doing; the printer then tries to connect but comes back with an error after 2 minutes saying "WPS error. Press ok to retry".
(Note: I previously had a BT home hub 3 which was connected successfully to the same printer).
I would appreciate any advice as this is driving me mad trying to get it to recognise the new router. (I am unable to manually select the network and input the pass key as there is no option in the LED window to choose network.)Hi @RuthKJ
Instead of using the WPS method to connect the printer to your new router let's try the following steps;
I use this method for iPads, iPhones and other devices that do not have software.
Restore the network defaults on the printer by pushing the wireless button, going to settings, and then restore defaults. The wireless button should then start flashing, this means it is now in autowireless mode.
Connect to the network that the printer is broadcasting. It is usually HP-setup-3050a and then part of the MAC address. The wireless light will still be flashing on the printer at this point, this is normal since this is not an actual adhoc connection.
Load up the Embedded Web Server (EWS) in the browser on your mobile device. The default IP for autowireless is 192.168.223.1.
Go to the network tab along the top of the EWS.
Click on Wireless Setup Wizard along the left hand side to begin configuring the printer.
You have now completed the Wireless configuration, follow the next 3 steps to start printing.
The blue wireless light will go solid, put the Mac back on your own network.
Add the printer to the System Preferences.
Print
Please let me know if this resolves the issue. I look forward to hear from you.

HP C4780 Wireless Install Issues
Hi, Ive recently gotten a PhotoSmart C4780 but am having problems with connecting it via wireless. i am unable to use the USB connection as the port on the rear is damaged, this install has been going on for days and i'm slowly starting to think it'll be something simple that i've missed.
I'm using a Virgin Media Super Hub manufactured by NetGear. this router is running WPA with a physical pushbutton, however when attempting to connect using push button the printer keeps throwing up WPS ERROR.
I've printed several Network configuration pages, ranging from offline to ready. i've done the same with the wireless network test page. these have ranged from FAIL FAIL FAIL to all PASS. My printer has shown a signal strength indicator of full on the control panel. But after restart has lost all settings again.
I'm thinking that my main problem is when it is aquiring an IP address. On the Network Config Page its IP address is coming up as 169.254.92.103 Everything else on my wireless network is using an IP starting 192 so im assuming its not connecting. I have tried entering the printers ip into a browser window but nothing happens.
Has anybody got any ideas that i can try??
Regards
CarlHello-
From what i see , your router is broadcasting in dual or "mixed" mode (802.11g and 802.11n) Is there anyway for you to change it to 802.11g mode only ?? HP printers prefer this frequency. After you make the changes try to connect the printer to your network. You are correct about the IP address. You need to be the same (at least the first three numbers 192.168.*.*) as your computer.
The 169.*.*.* numbers is a generic windows default number.
The easiest method is USB to Wireless. But since your port is bad, you will have to make WPS work:
To connect the HP Photosmart using WiFi Protected Setup (WPS)
1.
Do one of the following:
Use Push Button (PBC) method
a
. Set up wireless connection.
❑
On the Home Screen, press button next to Scan.
❑
Press button next to Wireless Menu.
❑
Press button next to WPS.
❑
Press button next to Push Button.
❑
Press corresponding button on WPS-enabled router or other networking
device.
❑
Press OK.
b
. Install software.
NOTE:
The product begins a timer for approximately two minutes in which the
corresponding button on the networking device needs to be pressed.
I hope this helps.
Also, remember a click on the Kudos star to the left is a quick "Thanks" for a helpful post.
Please select the "Accept as Solution" button on the post that best answers your question.
I appreciate your input !
