WPTrial.msi with regular Windows Intune Subscription (not trial)

Hi,
I am testing SCCM 2012 and Windows Intune as a MDM solution. We allready have Windows Intune subscription. Now a question. Is it possible to use The Support Tool for Windows Intune Trial Management of Window Phone 8 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-eg/download/details.aspx?id=39079)
with paid Windows Intune Subscription? We would like to test it before we buy the required Symantec signing certificate.
Thanks!

I know this is very old but I’m trying to clean up old posts. Did you ever solve this? If so it would be good if you could post the solution to assist others. If not, at this
stage, as nobody has answered, I would recommend that you call Intune support.
You will find your local Intune support number here

  • Extensions for Windows Intune are not populating

I have installed the Windows Intune Subscription and Added the Windows Intune Site Connector role.  I am trying to manage Windows 8.1 phone, but no extensions have shown up in Config Mgr.  Docs say that they will automatically populate.  Is
there something that I am missing? Perhaps on the Intune Portal?
    Thx.

Jason is right. The update has been carried out to create this Intune extension
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/windowsintune/archive/2014/04/28/availability-of-update-to-windows-intune-for-windows-phone-8-1-and-samsung-knox-standard.aspx
Have you seen any extensions previously - this is the third? You will only see them when you open the ConfigMgr console (not if it's already open). If not there is something wrong and you should review the logs Jason has referred to.

  • Issues with Finder - window 'view type' not sticking, picture backgrounds

Since my upgrade from Snow Leopard, I've noticed a few minor problems with the Finder in Lion.
Can anyone confirm if these are known bugs in Lion?
    1. At random, certain folders will not remember their view type anymore. Some do, some don't. Logging in as root and changing them there has fixed some, but others keep reverting back to a "default". It happens at any point while I am using the system, even without logging out or restarting. I've changed folder view types and come back 10 minutes later and they've changed on me! I used to have this problem with Tiger and Leopard, but not Snow Leopard. Seems it's back with Lion 10.7.0.
    2. Under Snow Leopard I had various JPG and PNG photos used as backgrounds for various folders in icon view. Under Lion, almost all of these backgrounds now only occupy one small corner of the window. They are not being displayed at their full size. The fact that they worked in Snow Leopard indicates there are no problems with the photos themselves.
    3. Various problems with grid layout in icon view. Dragging an icon to it's proper position in the grid will often not "stick". i.e. I line it up perfectly with the grid yet the icon goes flying off half way across the screen to another position. The Finder seems a lot less forgiving than Snow Leopard in this regard.
Since everything was runing perfectly for me in Snow Leopard I assume these are bugs that will hopefully be ironed out in future system updates.

  • Does Windows Intune come with a Windows License

Does a Windows Intune subscription still come with a Windows Enterprise upgrade license?
We've got some Windows 7 Professional PC's and some Windows 8.1 PC's and we require two things: -
      1: BitLocker
      2: Windows Intune
I don't want to have to pay to upgrade ALL of the PC's to Windows 8.1 Professional in order to get BitLocker and then roll out Windows Intune. I am hoping I can buy a Windows Intune subscription for each user, and be given a licence to upgrade their
primary PC to Windows 8.1 Enterprise - therefore allowing me to enable BitLocker on each PC.
I would really like an answer about the "Enterprise Licence" for Windows Intune.
    Regards,
Mark G Briggs - technology is a passion

    Hello,
if you wants to have Windows 8.1 Enterprise (includes BitLocker) than you need to purchase Windows Intune subscription with Software assurance for Windows for each device with Windows 7 professional.
Note:The Windows operating system upgrade included with Windows Intune with Software Assurance for Windows can only be used on the licensed user’s primary PC. However,
you can manage an additional four (4) devices.

  • Wifi profiles SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune

    Hi All,
A quick question regarding SCCM 2012 R2 and the new Wifi Profiles feature...
Can anyone confirm if you need windows Intune combined with SCCM 2012 R2 to be able to deploy WIFI profiles to users devices i.e Windows 8.1, IOS and Android platforms?  Microsoft documentation is not clear on this subject.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Regards PowerShell90

It not as straight forward as one would hope. I am running the latest version of SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 connected to my Windows Intune subscription. There are a lot of hickups. One is that the direct of management needs to be all or nothing. In other words you
either need to use Windows Intune solely to manage your devices or SCCM 2012 R2 (via connector). If the later then you must do everything from in SCCM 2012 R2. You cannot hybrid manage your devices as this will screw things up.
Android for some reason is left out on a lot of features. I would think that MS Devs would work hard on the market share that being Android, not iOS. Any way, accord to some official MS articles Android is supported, but others claim that not all features
are, these being the important ones like Email and Wi-Fi Profiles. They simply do not work.
I think MS is heading in the right direction but there is a lot of work that needs to be done before this is a competitive product. I could care less if connects to my SCCM 2012 R2 server or not. Here are few things that I sent o a MS Support Rep today that
    need to be address.
    1. Better response time when updating devices after enrollment (e.g. Name change).
    2. The ability to locked down uninstalling Windows Intune from device.<o:p></o:p>
    3. The ability to locked down certain features in the Windows Intune app on device (e.g. User can reset device with Windows Intune app, rename, etc...).<o:p></o:p>
    4. Ability to rename device in either Windows Intune Admin Portal and/or SCCM 2-12 R2.<o:p></o:p>

  • SCCM 2012 R2 +Intune Subscription

    Hi All,
If I subscribe for Windows Intune Subscription, then I will get SCCM 2012 R2 included as part of Intune.
Question is how I can install SCCM in this case on my on-premise server? Will SCCM 2012 R2 stop working if Intune Subscription expires?
    N.A.Malik

    From Windows Intune Licensing Brief:
Under all Windows Intune licensing scenarios, you are licensed for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and System Center Endpoint Protection. As a result, you have the flexibility to manage your devices in the most effective way for your organization—whether
in the cloud, on-premises, or a combination of a cloud and on-premises solution.
So you could manage non-Intune connected devices with ConfigMgr.
    And:
"System Center Configuration Manager and System Center Endpoint Protection software included in Windows Intune is provided on a subscription, nonperpetual basis. If you cancel your subscription or allow your subscription to expire, you must uninstall the
    software."
If you buy Intune licenses for 250 users, you can manage any devices (mobile, PCs) of those users (up to 5 devices/user) in any way you like with Intune/ConfigMgr.
    Quite flexible!  :-)
    Panu
    Thansk Panu for reply.
If I purchase Intune Subscription then:
SQL 2012 Standard + SCCM 2012 R2 will be free?
Of course maybe limited to mobile devices only.

  • Windows Intune Subsription Problem - Configuration required to connect to Windows Intune Service

    Hi,
Has anyone come across this description message before : Configuration required to connect to Windows Intune Service?
I've added an Intune Service to my Site, but I've got the above message.
I'm not exactly sure what it means.
    Can someone help.
Maybe I've not done something that I need too.
    Thanks

Windows Intune Service is a component of SCCM. If you have not added Windows Intune Subscription, the component will not be installed. Check the Component Status in Monitor Node.

  • Window Intune Center greyed out

Hello We are currently trialling Windows Intune and Kaspersky (as Windows Intune does not work on servers) and I have 2 issues.
    1. When right clicking on the Intune agent icon in in taskbar the Windows Intune Center option is greyed out this means users will have to go to Start - All Programs - Windows Intune Center to be able to install applications, request support etc.
    2. Since installing Kaspersky Windows Intune portal says that my laptop has not contacted it in "nDays" I have checked Kaspersky settings etc and cannot see anything wrong. I've even tried disabling Kaspersky and seeing if that makes a difference
but it doesn't. Has anyone got any experience using Intune and Kaspersky or another AV solution?

  • Can't enroll device for user and this user account is not authorized to use Windows Intune.

    Hello,
We have SCCM 2012 R2 inegrated with intune via an intune subscription. When I enroll a device with my admin account there are no problems, but when I want to add it with another user account which is a member of the Intune users collection, it can't be enrolled.
When I tested on https://portal.manage.microsoft.com with the credentials of the user I couldn't connect and received the following error: This user account is not authorized to use Windows Intune.
Do I have to do anything in the https://accounts.manage.microsoft.com as there is a checkbox saying Windows Intune. this is unchecked now for all the users even my own account on which I'm able to enroll a device.
Or is this a license problem? I know configuration Manager uses licenses for Intune but where can we track how many licenses are used and how many available? Is there some kind of report available?
I hope someone can help me
    Kind regards,
    Robben

I added them yesterday and this morning I was still not able to enroll a device with the added user his credentials.
The UPN is correct. Maybe I need to force the DirSync then? Or will one day of waiting be enough normally?
I can see the user in the intune management portal. Does this means it has been synced?
Another thing I noticed is the cloudusersync.log doesn't show them being added? What I was thinking is I first used the all Users collection in the subscription and afterwards I changed it to a specific collection with only the test users. Could it be that
they all synced already and the log doesn't show them anymore?
A warning in this log shows this also:

  • How to mass deploy Windows InTune client software with GPO

I have been looking for mass deploy Windows InTune client software. The only option that I had was with GPO. As we know the exe is not possible to deploy with GPO. Ok, we can play arouund with ZAP files or tranform exe to msi. In my opinion this is
rather »walk-around« the »enginering aproach. So, how can we mass deploy InTune client with GPO. We need to extract the msi from exe. The command is »Windows_Intune_Setup.exe /Extract <destination-directory> ». The command extracts exe to x86 and x64
client msi install. Then we can deploy throw GPO. The »WindowsIntune.accountcert« file must be in the same folder share as described in document http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj676611.aspx.
I have tested the deployment, and works good.

  • Windows Extensions Not Showing After Windows Intune Site Role Installed

    Hi,
I have installed the windows intune site role on a SCCM 2012 R2 box and the Windows Intune Extensions have not been shipped to Admin>Overview> Cloud Services> Windows Intune as per the attached photo.  This is the third time I have built a
SCCM MDM service and I have not come across this before.  If you view the site roles it is installed, the subscription is active within config manager and the system authority is set to SCCM management in Http://manage.microsoft.com.
I am wondering if there is a way of breaking the intune association to try and re-install the role as there was not a full internet connectivity within the data centers at the time if install and external DNS was not resolving for FQDN and nslookup would
fail.  I believe that Intune requires a cert to be shipped to it at time of install.
Any help, thoughts and advice would be greatly received as my previous 2 installs have not been an issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

I am in the same boat and have a call open.  Apparently, there is some issue that the engineering team is working on.  I got the iOS and Email Profile extensions back in February, but never received the 8.1 extensions.  My call has been
running for 3 weeks now and they are still working on the delivery mechanism from their end.  I'll post back when they figure out what is going on.

  • When installing itunes 10 uding windows xp I get the following error: "There is a problem with this Windows Installerpackage. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your sipport personnel or package vendor." - any ideas?

When downloading itunes 10 in windows xp, I get the following error "There is a problem with this Windoes Installer package. Aprogram run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." - any ideas on how to proceed?

using MSICUU2.exe didn't help me.  But,  the new replacement app did:
      http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
I fixed my problem like this:
    Here's the deal -
    1.  can you install itunes via the APPLE SOFTWARE updater?
I couldn't  so I downloaded ITUNES and tried to install it that way.   Hence  I got the same error hang as you.  Nothing worked,  (Multiple attempts at uninstall reinstall,  stopping of Services,  Reg cleaners  etc..)
    2.  If answer is NO to #1 you must fixe the APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE Program.
OK  so I couldn't find a Download for this.   But:  if you have WINRAR,  open the ITUNES.EXE and extract the APPLESOFTWAREUPDATE.MSI file.  Execute the APPLESOFTWAREUPDATE.MSI separately.   And you will not be able to install it and have a similar issue as per your Itunes install.   This of course leads you to believe that the Itunes.exe  install is also installing all of these components including the applesoftwareupdate silently.   It must BOMB at that portion of the install and you are done.
    3.  Your goal now is to get the applesoftwareupdate installed.   How do you do this.  Well -  here is what I did.
      a.  downloaded and RUN a PC  Installer FIX it tool from Microsoft.  This is a replacement for the older MSI fixer they used to use.
      http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    b. It will list programs to attempt to fix.
      choose  AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi
    c. Once it is done,  then reinstall apple program updater using
    AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi
Finally it should install since the Microsoft tool appraently fixed corrupted installation files in your registry for this application.
(Please note:  that I also disabled any apple related services such as BONJOUR or IPOD DEvice RUN:  services.msc to get there -  although this man not be necesarry.)
Hence Launch this APPLE UPDATE SOFTWARE (Click the ICON in your Start menu)  it should list ITUNES
select ITUNES from here and it will update.
KEY HERE is to ONLY UPDATE APPLE Stuff via the APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE program.  If that program is not working fix it.  Then Bingo.
I am sorry to see folks having this problem for weeks.
APPLE,   Spread the word.  PC's can get corruption in the registry on your product should the update be stopped or computer shut off during an update.  etc...   Please improve your software updater program to check for invalid registry upon launching the app.  This will prevent people thinking it is an APPLE issue.  It appears to be a problem on your PC's registry settings for the APPLE Software update.

Ok, Below is what worked for me somewhat.
Okay ... try downloading and saving a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe to your PC from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now download a trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.php
Open the iTunesSetup.exe with WinRAR, and try to run the standalone install of Apple Application Support from the AppleApplicationSupport.msi you find in there.
It works now BUT there are still problems.  It is not allowing or recognizing my Cd/DVD player and i CANT burn.  Looking still for this fix.
