I have ipad 2 - 9/10 months old - probably my 10th apple product from the ipod/iphone/ipad range. The £700 64G with 3G model.
It has developed the "common" (design fault?!) microphone problem where all it records now is crackles.
Sent off for repair under warranty.
But guess what there is some cosmetic damage to the dock connector.....oh by the way no it has no affect on the performance when i dock it with anything and you may be asking what has that got to do with the broken microphone.......the answer is nothing however it does allow apple to ensure that they never have to fix anything that is broken (especially when its something that clearly is breaking down left right and centre).
ha ha and they want £280 from me to fix their broken microphone because CLEARLY I DID NOT READ THE PART THAT SAID NO WEAR AND TEAR OF ANY KIND WILL BE TOLERATED IF SOMETHING YOU PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR EVER BREAKS DOWN. SO MY RECOMMENDATION TO EVERYONE ELSE IS BUY AN IPAD, NEVER USE IT, PUT IT IN BUBBLEWRAP SO THAT WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN WITHIN 12 MONTHS THERE IS NO CHANCE THAT IT COULD BE ANY WAY COSMETICALLY DAMAGED SO THAT THEY DONT FIX THE PROBLEM.
THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE (AND IT TAKES SOME BEATING) CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAD EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.
My husband was considering an Ipad 3 - no longer.
I work for a large financial services organisation currently piloting ipads for business use....suppose they will find this interesting to know as well.
I reckon the customer service people must hear it all the time because they dont give a s**t at all.
Anyone recommend an external microphone as there is no way on earth I will be putting any more money in Apple's direction if this is how they treat customers?

To get to the second question, I use the Vericorder Mini-Mic and am very happy with it so far.
To answer the second question, I've taken in iOS devices (two phones) with "cosmetic" damage (scuffs, etc) and have not had any problem getting service. I've found their customer service to be excellent.
I see you're upset - but ALL CAPS is considered to be yelling/screaming in online discussions, and doing so makes it less likely you'll get any support.

Yes u can think it in that way also.....actually we use infosource in this case........to reduce the redundency of work............I mean suppose u need to write a End routine..........which will delete some fields......and this field exist in all the three datasource..........and every time......for each Transformation u hav to write the code........then its better........that u merge all the three Transformation in one Infosource........then a single transformation from the infosource to the target.......and in that Transformation u write down the sode.....

I donu2019t have access to a BI system now but your model suggests that it can be done, by right-clicking on the InfoSource, to create a Transformation under the InfoSource. Right?
i.e. that is how in your model you create 3 transformation under the InfoSource, right?.
Look first u hav to create the infosource............u can create Transformation by right clicking on the Datasource or the Target both.......so for the first three Transformation..........here the source is the Datasource and the target is the infosource..........so either right click on the Datasource or the infosource >> Create transformation........there as a target select infosource............Now for the second level transformation...............source is the infosource............so again either right click on the infosource or the target and create transformation.......

As part of my summary, I am also deducing that even in the BI 7 implementation, there are still two different types of datasources(3.5 and 7.0 datasource) since SAP is still on its way to make all datasources as according to BI7. And that even if you are in a pure BI 7 environment and you decide to use the 3.5 types of data sources, you have no option but to use InfoSource in your model. Right?
Look.......in BI 7.0 also............for 3.5 datasources u can use the old model............but if u use Emulated datasource (if you replicate the old DataSource to a NetWeaver 2004s BI system, we call this DataSource an 'emulated' DataSource. An 'emulated DataSource' is a DataSource that has the same 'look and feel' as the new DataSource, but is actually a BW 3.x DataSource)............if u migrate a datasource.then obviously u hav to use 7.0 flow..........
For an example..........BI 7.0 does'nt support Hierarchy datasource.....u cannot use it as Emulated datasource also.....u hav to use it as BW 3.X datasource only...so in that case u will use 3.X flow only..............

Could a self save from premiere cause the problem? By this i don't mean the autosave.
Autosave is the only kind of 'self save', and is not likely to 'cause' project corruption.

The second question came from the fact that my last save was from 17 minutes after i left my studio. And i am not talking about an autosave. It was the main save of the corrupted videofile. And since i did not do it myself, the only option left is that Premiere did it? Or that premiere does not use the internal Mac clock and is on a different time. Which is not the case (just tested).

After establishing the Credit Card account (i.e. after you have made purchases), you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".

Have you ever needed dynamically evaluated Java?

It seems every day or so someone asks how to evaluate/execute a piece of Java contained in a String, or evaluate a mathematical expression in a String. I've never needed this, so I'm curious - other than for academic purposes, who has ever needed to do this, and why?

I am sure I have never needed to do that. A language commonly used where I work is IDL (Interactive Data Language, not Interface Definition Language). Since IDL is interpreted, executing or evaluating an expression in a string is easy. Because of this, a lot of the files used to describe our data products had little chunks of IDL code in them. We are in the process of replacing the IDL system with a Java system, so we had to support parsing IDL expressions in Java. The users of our system are mostly scientists and for them it is much easier to put "sqrt(3.0)/2.0" in a configuration file than it is to use "0.866025". Plus, sqrt(3.0)/2.0 is somewhat self-documenting so they would probably whine and cry and complain (as they often do) if we tell them they have to calculate out all the values they use in the configuration files.
Outside of a mathematical context, I have never needed to be able to parse expressions, and I have never needed to be able to parse Java expressions specifically. We are supporting javascript code in our gui interface specification files (XML) to allow for custom event code, but we use rhino for that (GO RHINO!).

Windows.old Folders ... Have You Ever Had A Use For Them?

Has anyone ever needed the Windows.old folders created when an OS is re-loaded or a different OS is loaded on a machine containing an existing OS?
Deleting them can free up Gigs of space and I do it when I have had to re-load an OS or have upgraded an existing OS.
Now, for a secondary question. I have a machine that has this Windows.old folder that I cannot delete. I have tried while logging into the machine as the Domain Admin and again as the machine local Admin. Each time I am being told I don't have the sufficient permissions to delete the folder. I have never had this issue happen before. The Windows.old folder is on a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

I have a Windows XP Pro 2nd edition with IE ver 6.0.2 (but I normally use FireFox)
I've never had any trouble with iTunes until iTunes "forced" me to upgrade my iTunes applicaiton to version 6 if I wanted to "purchase" music. (note to self: Purchase music from stores it's much safer)...
I upgraded and received no error messages. Trouble is now, when I launch the iTunes application it doesn't "open" ... although the iTunes process begins to run in the background process (ctraltdelete).
I have uninstalled and installed 5 different times and ways.
First uninstall was "typical" uninstall. THat didn't fix it.
Second uninstall was "typical" unistall from the Control Panel, and then I removed the folders from the "program File" folder. Still wouldn't work.
Third unintall was "typical" then I removed folders from local drive and removed all "known" registry "itune" keys. That didn't work.
Fourth uninstall was first a "repair" to itunes, and then a "typical" uninstall, then I removed folders, removed registry (does anyone know all of itunes registry keys? Maybe I am missing a few.. the only ones I know of is the "itune" reg). Then I looked through my start up menu from "msconfig" and took a look at my firewall program to see if there was anything preventing the program from running...
Fifth uninstall pretty much fruitless as my previous attempts.
I know it HAS to be a registry key of some sort.. here's why:
When I uninstall and reinstall (no matter how thourough) every time I install the iTunes program Windows XP has never ONCE recognized the new install of iTunes as a "NEW PROGRAM" and it should!
I need help... what registry keys should I be removing? ANyone suggest for me to remove Quick Time too? What about the ipod updater software? Any connection?

hmmm. is itunes.exe persisting in Task Manager? if so, first check up on these two possibilities:
iTunes 6 won't open on a Windows computer if firewall software is not up-to-date
iTunes for Windows doesn't open after upgrading
but if itunes.exe is disappearing after a few seconds, try the following technique:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows
... and let us know the names (exact spelling please) of the start-up items that you had to disable in order to get itunes to launch. (there's a nasty piece of malware out there that has been causing "error-less" itunes launch failures since late October.)

HELP!! My voicemail cuts in after just 15 seconds of ringing, which is rarely long enough for me to answer it. How do I increase the length of time it rings? Can I choose not to have voicemail at all, so my phone can just continue ringing until I answer?

Beginner! I need help on figuring out how to make a form display subforms/fields based on a drop do

I am trying to create a from that will allow the user to select a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd request. All of the request will need to be a little different so I would like to make the subform or feild that are relavant to the request type appear and the other be hidden. Should I use subforms to accomplish this or ????? I have looked all over for a answer but I can't find anything that seems to work for my needs. Can someone please help?

Thank You for the response! I was able to get that far but I am still having trouble. First, I was able to get the form to work even though I used postioned content. I used 3 radio buttons and JS to get the subforms to appear and disappear. (Request1.presence ="visible"; Request2.presence ="hidden"; Request3 ="hidden" each button has a similar script on the Click event) The problem occurs when you go from the 3rd button to the 1st button. Both subforms show up but if you go in any other order the subforms hide and appear properly. ??????? Maybe I am going about this completely the wrong way.
