Wrap to Window?

I need to open documents side by side. Am I missing something obvious here, some way to wrap to window?
Thankee

Thanks Thomas,
I am very surprised Pages will not do this, as sometimes you need to narrow the window when you have other windows open and you want to see them side by side for copying/pasting etc. This is when I find the wrap to window function vital.
It does make sense, and you can do it in most word processing applications - just not Pages, bafflingly. This means I cannot use Pages. But when everyone in the world seems to use Word anyway, I guess I will have to succumb to Word after all.
Thanks for the reply though.
Sarah

  • Javascript alert boxes are wrapped in Windows 7 with IE 8

I can't count the number of JavaScript alert boxes I have throughout my systems and they have always made the transition between IE browsers from 6 to 8 without a hitch.  Without a hitch until I setup my first Windows 7 machine.  It is a 64 system that has both 32 & 64 bit IE browsers.
It doesn't matter which of the two versions I use, the JavaScript messages that I have so carefully crafted with just the proper layout are now wrapped.  The resultant text in the new W7 popups is almost unintelligible because it is so badly scrambled/wrapped on the new white background.
Since an alert box is simplicty itself, there is no way that I can think of to change the inherent size of the box.
Has anyone else notice this phenomena???   If so, do you have a way around it short of redoing all of the text in the effected boxes???

HMM I have the same problem. My researches suggest that the Zone.Identifier ADS is still being used for the internet zone, but not the Intranet zone. I too can get an intranet location out of IE, but not by querying Zone.Identifier eg using Powershell. This
issue is present in XP as well as Win 7. It appears to extend to trusted zone ids.
One hypothesis is that this is being stored in hidden form to prevent zone ids that decrease security being applied by malware.
I had thought that maybe the intranet zone id was only present during download - but your experiment suggests otherwise.

  • How do you adjust the offset of a text wrap?

I'm trying to adjust the offset of the text wrap and the Indesign help I found just says to specify it.  But WHERE?  I see the text wrap options on my tool bar but there doesn't seem to be a corresponding place to change the offset distances.

I finally found a way.  You can go to Window and open the Text Wrap Dialoge Window.  It can then be anchored to the side with your other special effects windows and you can make adjustments there.

  • Please explain word wrap in Lion email

On my iMac, using OS 10.7 mail, some email message text wraps in windows and other email text will not (sent or received) I know that this has something to do with using plain text, or rich text. It is not clear what the rules on when it will, or will not, wrap text.
Does it work the same way in Snow Leoopard?
Any help would be apreciated. Kevin

Yes, and here we are 7 months later still looking totally stupid when we send emails with lines that don't wrap to fit the window (like it just did here).  I saw this happen with a friends iPad and we spent hours looking to turn on word wrap, which has been a minimum standard since the 1980's.  I assumed this would have been fixed by the time I bought this iPad2 but NO.  It is truly an UGLY fact that Apple can produce elegant devices that don't have the basic minimum programming to make them work properly.  I am so angry that I bought an Android phone instead because it word wraps emails beautifully and instantly reformists to wide or narrow screen.  Conversely, if I type an iPad email and the line continues beyond the edge of the window the type is made smaller and smaller the longer the line gets.  The reply to my email showed that my type size was about 2 points in height and looked like unreadable ants on the screen.  Wake up Apple, Linux is going to Eat Your Lunch if some Smart programming isn't applied to your devices!

  • Windows Access Bridge from C# (WindowsAccessBridge.dll)

    Hello-
Does anyone have sample code for how to call into WindowsAccessBridge.dll from C#? I'm able to build, run, and debug through the Ferret and Monkey samples from Visual Studio .NET 2005, but that's native C code.
I think I've distilled it down to the minimal set of lines required to get started, which I've pasted below, but no calls to "isJavaWindow" will return "true". I've verified the window handle I'm passing in two ways: via Spy++, and by stepping through the Monkey project (it finds the window correctly).
So am I missing an initialization step? Does anyone have working C# code that wraps the Windows Access Bridge?
Greatly appreciated. My code follows. Just create a new C# console app and replace the default Program.cs with this to see it go. Or not.

  • Accessing the Windows API

    All,
We're trying to wrap the windows API PostMessageA method using a Forte
    C Project library.
I would like to have some detailed discussions with anybody who has done
    this or wrapped other
    windows API calls.
We've worked around this by creating a C DLL which provides an
    interface to PostMessageA,
but the better solution is to call the API directly.
    Thank you for your help,
    Keith Kroeger

Yes, we tried this, $top=10&$skip=0 works for the following url
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$top=10&$skip=0
It is only when we add $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters,
the server returns the mentioned error response -
URL for which the server returns the 500 error -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10&$skip=0
    Can
you point to the error logs for Windows Azure Pack and SPF ?

  • Text Edit (print size small)

I try to print a document (Rich) I'm using a Canon MP970 Printer.   (Web pages, pics) print out fine.   My Text Edit fonts always come out small.
I up the percent to 120% (File>Page Set-up)...and to No avail....I've also made the fonts bigger.  (Apple) Command-Plus sign +...though they appear large in Text Edit, they still come out small and if I up the size they run off the right side of the paper.    The margins on the Left seem to be much wider than what I've selected in Text Edit.   Any ideas of what to do?   thanks

Choose "Wrap to Page" rather than "Wrap to Window" in the TextEdit View menu.

    Hi,
There is an issue with a few shipping documents when trying to print : Transaction VT03n
When you choose 'Shipment --> Issue output to --> Screen, message number VW086 appears:
    "Output could not be issued"
    For output type ZDG1.
Can any one suggest what could be the reason for this message as it is not happening for all documents except a few.
    Thanks & Regards,

i mean, like Condition records, sequences etc. But, i guess, they are fine.
Some times the reason could be: If the text is over flowing than window size or word wrapping or window size is bigger than the specified page size, over lapping text contained windows, wrong alignment etc..........so, reduce the content of the text in each window, then try. Also pls. wait for replies from other experts, before re-sizing the windows

  • [SOLVED] Unable to boot Archiso USB in UEFI mode

    Hello Everyone !
I'm trying to create an UEFI bootable USB from the latest ISO : 2012.10.06. I first tried following this section of the wiki : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … B_from_ISO with an usb key formatted as an EFI System (of type "ef00" in gdisk) and with a FAT32 partition on it.
All steps went right but when i try to boot with this key from the EFI menu, i get an infinite black screen and the usb key led isn't blinking so i suppose it's not loading.
I have refind already installed on my system. When i try booting the key from refind, I get the same result but with a clue : it stays blocked at loading bootx64.efi.
I just tried another way of creating my bootable usb key by following the archiso README : https://projects.archlinux.org/archiso. … EADME#n237
It results in the same situation.
I've tried the two ways a few times and with two different usb keys so i think i didn't miss any step. (The filesystem label is right)
The section of the wiki I mentionned is changing every day so maybe it's not ready ? Moreover, a new command has been added about removing a [BOOT] file, i don't have this file when extracting with bsdtar.
The md5sum of the iso is ok.
My computer is an ASUS N56VM.
Everything worked fine with the previous iso of archlinux.
I didn't find anyone on the forum with the same problem so if anybody knows how I should do or where I could get more information, I would be grateful.
PS : I'm sorry for the mistakes in english, this is not my mother tongue .

I got the same issue. After hours of debugging I finally understand the problem: gummiboot doesn't detect any menu entry, and goes into a bug that hangs it. I have a patch to fix that particular bug, but instead of hanging you will see a proper error.
The real problem is in gnu-efi, which is not wrapping the Windows x86 calls correctly, so it's a matter of luck if the compiler manages to organize the code in a proper way.
You can try with this package: http://felipec.org/arch-linux/gummiboot … pkg.tar.xz

  • Using "Save As" to save an email results in unintelligible TextEdit doc

People send emails containing news articles and other highly-formatted content from the original source--photos, headlines, indenting, etc. I like to save some of these as documents outside the Mail application. Usually "Save As" creates a perfectly fine TextEdit file. But sometimes (and this can happen with internet content too), there is nothing I can do to get a Text Edit file that is legible. Some of the info is missing, numbered items bear no relation to the real numbering, text at the bottom of a page that's too long just disappears instead of flowing on to the next page. Etc.
I've tried dragging and copy-&-paste, too. Plus I've tried TextEdit in "wrap to window" mode as well as "wrap to page," noticing no difference. In cases where this happens, it seems those emails simply cannot be saved outside of Mail as ordinary text documents.
You CAN save an email outside Mail by selecting "Raw Message Source" in the Save As dialog box, but it remains a Mail document and uses the Mail application to open it.
Does anyone know a workaround for getting this kind of heavily formatted email saved as a TextEdit file, or is it that TextEdit just can't possibly handle every conceivable type of formatting out there?

What is the source of this highly formatted content: HTML documents, PDF documents, etc.? If it's not PDF documents, why can't you just Print to PDF for those emails? All formatting is retained, along with legible text.
is it that TextEdit just can't possibly handle every conceivable type of formatting out there?
No, it can't; there isn't any program that can handle every conceivable formatting specification. Expecting one will lead you to endless disappointment.

  • Text not aligning . . .

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to align text? I'm designing a page using a text box. It looks great with iWeb, but when I publish it, all the text doesn't look right. This page is suppose to host my resume so I'm pretty concerned about the appearance. I pasted in my text from MS Word document. I also tried first pasting everything into a text file, then coping it into iWeb and it didn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for the suggestion. When using TextEdit, does it make a difference if I use "Wrap to Window" or "Wrap to Page"? After importing from TextEdit, there is also some funny indents in paragraphs that I can't seem to adjust.

  • Can anyone help with a TextEdit quirk...

I can't seem to figure out how font sizes work on TextEdit. Standard busines letter font sizes (like size 12) look normal on my computer screen, but are printing out super small, like impossible to read small. If I want it to look like standard letter size on paper, it needs to be set to something like 30 in which case the letters are GIANT on my computer screen. The odd thing is, sometimes, SOMETIMES, it will work normally where size 12 on my computer yields a normal looking printout, but I have not been able to figure out why it does it right once in a while, but not most of the time.

There are two modes in TextEdit - wrapped to page and wrapped to window. If you are wrapped to window the font size is scaled based on the size of the window. I think a larger window makes the text smaller -- or maybe it is the other way around? I don't exactly know because I never use that mode.
Instead, go up to the Format menu and select wrap to page. That way, you will get the size you set.

    Hello Folks,
I am wrapping a windows .LIB file. There are some CALLBACK functions defined in this...Can anybody tell me how do Forte handle these callback functions and how to define the 'C' interface for them in forte??
Any kind of clue would be very helpfull...

With Forte Release2 supporting only OLE callout, you can use DDE
to pass data; but with Release 3 which supports OLE callin , you
should be able to pass data both ways.
