Wrapped column "bleeds" onto next page of report

Does anyone know how to stop a wrapped column from printing on two different pages in sqlplus? I have this sqlplus report that has a certain page size. Whenever it hits the end of a page it doesn't care if it splits a wrapped column in half. See below in the example, where it splits the last name "jones-macdonald" across two pages.
LAST NAME FIRST NAME ADDRESS page 1
smith john some address
smith james some address
jones-macdo loretta some address
LAST NAME FIRST NAME ADDRESS page 2
nald
johnson lucy some address
Thanks to anyone who can assist.

Yes, I did set a format and told it to WRAP. Unfortunately, my report contains a number of columns that must wrap or the line is too long. However, some people complain about the way it splits the data across two pages.
I can't find anything in the sqlplus documentation on how to fix this. Maybe there is a trick someone knows.

  • Next page on report reset checkbox columns

    Hello
I have interactive reports using apex.item and htmldb_application arrays to treat check box column. But if I check few lines and press next page, the checked items are lost. I understand why it happens, but how can I fix it?
I want either apex to remember the checked lines on previous page, or on pressed next page autoamtically launch process to treat the checked lines. Such process I already have on the page as pl/sql process launched by button.
    Thx

  • Pages 5 Document Endnotes doesn't allow text continuation onto next page?

For large blocks of endnote citations, Pages 5 doesn't all the text to flow down to the end of the page before going to the next. Rather it treats the endnote text area as its own section, thereby moving the entire text box to the next page. This is problematic from a formatting standpoint because it wastes page space, does anyone have a workaround or suggestions?
    Example:
Citation 5 is long but I would like to keep it on the same page as Citation 4 and just let the text continue onto the next page. However Pages 5 doesn't allow me to adjust the endnote text box and just jumps to the next page. Rarely do you see endnotes arranged in this manner in high-level research reports and we can't have this.

I exported a PDF from Pages v5.2.2. This uses Apple's Quartz PDFContext, not Quark.
In Windows 7, I opened this PDF with Adobe Acrobat Reader v11.0.09. I then copied/pasted a paragraph of this PDF content into LibreOffice Writer (v4.3.2.2). Since there was Baskerville in Windows 7, this comment pasted correctly including font-size. I did not have to make any adjustments to LO to accept this text.
On Ubuntu Linux 14.04, with the latest updates, I opened the same PDF in Evince, the default PDF viewer. Adobe does not offer an Acrobat Reader download for Linux. Again, I copied and pasted a paragraph of content from the PDF viewer into LibreOffice Writer. As there was no Baskerville installed, Writer defaulted to the Liberation font, at the correct point size.
In either of these platform scenarios, there were no anomalies with sentence/paragraph newlines .vs. carriage return issues from the PDF document during copy/paste operations. These were default control-v pastes that did not use the Paste Special menu item in LibreOffice.

  • Unable to view next page of report in Crystal Viewer using JAVA

We have been able to successfully deploy a report through Crystal viewer XI /Java /Sun Solaris, report works fine, able to suppress group tree, but unable to veiw 2nd page of report.    The suppression of the group tree in the web page required a simple command , is there one that allows us to proceed to the next page?  I am not JAVA savvy so I will be communicating this to the person who will be making the correction, please pardon me if I left something out.

It's not clear whether your issue is with the Page Navigation controls not working, or whether you wish to programmatically skip the first page and go to the next page.  If the latter, then the CrystalReportViewer class has a showNthPage method.

  • Text run onto next page

    Hello,
I'm creating a form in Adobe XI. I have one question where I want the person's response to be a maximum of two pages long. How do I have it so that their response will run onto the next page? I've been trying for ages and can't seem to figure it out. I need to publish this form by the end of the week. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!!!
    Thanks,
    Lindsay

"... a simple and common issue."
Yes - that's why Adobe markets the LiveCycle Designer application  for building dynamic forms (XFA).

  • How do I keep stroke from spilling onto next page?

My InDesign document has a few strokes that are on 45 degree angles and I'm trying to keep them from spilling onto the next page. I can't send them to the back because that won't work in this instance. Is there a way to keep them from showing on surrounding pages? Thanks!

A screen capture would help explain the problem. Are you saying you have stroked frames, rather than just open paths, that are rotated and cross the page boundary?

  • Text field in table not overflowing onto next page!

    Hi,
I have set up a table with a text field in the first row, added buttons to add and delete rows, set to allow page breaks and made the text field to expand to fit and allow multiple lines. The problem I am having is that if I put a lot of text into the text field it will not expand on to the next page so not all of the text is visible. If I just set up a 1 row table the expansion works as I would expect and takes up as many pages as needed. Somewhere along the line the add, remove buttons or their associated javascript or the Repeat Row option seems to be having an effect.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Greig

Basically you can tell the bodypage to overflow to the second masterpage when it runs out of space.
On the bodypage properties that's done within the pagination tab.
Make sure that you enable the "Allow page breaks in contents" tickbox.
By the way, just wondering, how did you save the form as dynamic, since dynamic is only enabled in the SAP world by setting a dynamic/enabled flag.
If you are testing outside of sap in the LiveCycle designer you might want to close the file and then reopen it, after you saved it as dynamic. There's a nifty setting in the LiveCycle designer properties which enables you to create dynamic pages by default. It's in the LiveCycle Designer Options.

  • Help with pushing records to next page in report

    Hi,
I am trrying to create a report that will display records on seperate pages. My record set has a common reference number with many other detail columns. So an example would be:
ref num 1         detail        detail        detail
ref num 1         detail        detail        detail
ref num 1         detail        detail        detail
ref num 2         detail        detail        detail
ref num 2         detail        detail        detail
ref num 2         detail        detail        detail
    and so on...
I need the report to take the records from ref num1 for the first page (or more if necessary) and then start a new page for the next record and so on. I have tried using the "New page after" function with no sucess and really hope someone here has overcome this and can help.
    Thanks a mil
    Phil.

    Hi Sastry,
The report is actually a batch of invoices. I have a stored Procedure returning the records of the invoices and the report template is so far set up as follows,
the page header has unique invoice details listed there.
    --- name and address etc
    the details section is supressed
there is a group footer section with the repeating product details of the invoice there.
--- date, product 1, amount, total
--- date, product 2, amount, total  etc...
the report is sorted by the date of the products in the croup section
there is a page footer section similar to the page header.
    --- totals information
when the report is for one invocie it will work as the products all appear in the group section as expected. when the report is for more than one invoice it mixes all the records up and prints two invoices with incorrect details. the record set returned by the stored procedure is as per my first thread.
I hope this makes some sense. I have not had much crystal reports training and may need to start this one from scratch. Bacically we have a system that uses crystal to print our invoices. The system will only ever output one invoice record at a time. I copied the report template hoping i could adapt it to be able to print many records at a time as a report.
Thanks a mil for you time all the same.

  • Flowable Form does not flow onto next page

I have created a form with a table wrapped in a subform and made it flowable and each field expandable. That part works great. However, I cannot get the content to flow to a subsequent page. When the content is too large for the page, it just keeps pushing down beyond the bottom of the form where I cannot even access it.
The form contains a table of three rows and within each of those rows, all but one column contain a table of three rows. The highest level table is wrapped in a subform and it is marked as flowed with each text field set to expand to fit. I've selected every row and subform I can and checked the box "Allow page breaks within content". The forms still does not break at the end of the page but just keeps pushing the data down off the page.
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for your assistance. However, that subform is flowed and Allow page breaks within content is checked.
Is there something under pagination for that subform that I might need to do. I tried creating a page 2 and intended to set the Overflow on the pagination tab to page 2 but that is not an option. I can only set this to PageArea1 or ContentArea1 which I see are objects in the master pages and I do not have a page 2 in master pages. Is that the key?

  • Help Req'd! - Table will not flow onto next page!

    Hello!
I am currently doing some form design for a large SAP project in the UK and am having problems with getting a table on a remiitance advice form ive created to flow onto a new page.
currently my form is configured as follows:
    - saved as a dynamic pdf.
    - 2 master pages: the first containing text fields for form title, company logo, addresses, and a disclaimer at the bottom, page numbering, as well as a border created with rectangles. The second contains all of the above except the addresses.
    - 1 body page: contains a subform set to flowed (top to bottom) which contains a table with header/data/footer rows. The data row is set to repeat data so as to expand when there is more than 1 dataset.
i have tried playing with content areas but they will not stay at the size to which i draw them and then cannot be manipulated afterwards, also i only have pagination settings available to me on the body page itself in the hierachy. the subform inside it, and the table inside that, have greyed out pagination settings.
finally the body page is set to positioned at present as setting it to flowed causes the subform containing the table to shoot to the top of the page!
The problem I am getting is that the table when containing lots of data just runs off the end of the page!!
    Any ideas much appreciated!
    Thanks!!

  • Image edges bleeding to next page when exporting

Wondering if anyone can help me?
I've created a newsletter in Indesign and have placed images and coloured boxes to the edges of some of my pages. But when I export the newsletter to PDF the image edges are showing up on the adjacent page (even though they are only on one page in Indesign). How can I stop this?

    >Should one add bleeds so that the imposer would be able to pull everything toward the edge of the page without leaving an unprinted strip in the gutter??
John, there are two ways of keeping the outer margins uniform while making the creep adjustment:
    1. The inner pages of the signature are progressively moved toward the spine, with the inner margins becoming progressively smaller. This method needs no extra bleed image beyond the inside page edge.
    2. The outer pages of the signature are progressively moved away from the spine, with the inner margins becoming progressively larger. This method does indeed need the source pages to have extra bleed image beyond the inside page edge.
High end imposition software have the flexibility to do it either way depending on the specific needs of the case at hand, and this is selectable by the pre press operator using the imposition software. Some times even a combination of the two methods can be used in the same signature so that half of the pages are shifted outwards, while half are shifted inwards.
So pages that are going to have an outward creep adjustment may need to be handled as Peter outlined in #6.
Peter please note from this example that spiral bound books are not the only case where bleed needs to be provided at the spine. In fact all signature work needs this consideration if a creep adjustment of the second kind is to be used. But lets keep it in perspective: this is a very fine point in imposition work and can generally be ignored.

  • Print line items on next page if does not fir onto current page

    Hello Experts,
I have a query related with Smartform.
For every Line item, I have 4 lines. Means, if there are 4 line itmes in Internal table then it means, on form 16 lines should be printed.
My Requirement - If any of the Line item does not fin onto a single page then shift the whole line item onto next page. Means, If Line item 1 and 2 are printing on 1st page completely, but line item 3 is not able to print completely on 1st page then shift all the 4 lines of line item 3 onto next page.
I tried - Put the main table of main area in a Folder and checked the PAGE PROTECTION of that folder. And in the Foder itself, use a command with checked GO TO NEW PAGE. But it is not printing. Form goes into shortdump.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Regards
    Kuldeep M.

    Hi,
U try to fix the no of lines per page. If the no of lines in ur table are more than the lines per page then u call the COMMAND 'Go to New Page' and give the Page name.
    Eg:
    data : lv_lines TYPE i,
lv_lines_per_page TYPE i value 12.    (Try to design the Window height to fit 12 lines or ur wish)
              lv_count TYPE i.
    describe table itab lines lv_lines.
Now, u loop the itab table and put a condition in the LOOP:
    LOOP AT itab.
      lv_count = lv_count + 1.
    IF lv_count GT lv_lines_per_page.
       clear lv_count.
create command 'Go to New Page'.             --->In COMMAND put condition lv_count GT 12
    endif.
    ENDLOOP.
    Hope it helps!!

  • Report Viewer 2015 not navigating to next page

I am using a report viewer 2015 in an ASP.NET application with credentials passed using IReportServerConnection2.
But after clicking next page on report viewer toolbar, 2nd page of report is not shown.
    The issue is reproducible with
ASP.NET application installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 but not when installed on Windows 8.1.
    Please help its urgent.

    Hi Vaibhav,
Is there any error displayed for this issue? If you can debug the ASP.NET application in VS, can you try to set breakpoint at the event
    protected
    void
    Application_Error(object
    sender,
    EventArgs
    e)
in Global.asax.cs to see whether the breakpoint would be hit and what kind of error it is when clicking next page.

  • 2-column layout with correct page breaks

    Hi there,
I am trying to produce a 2-column layout in my form.
The problem is: These columns stretch over more than one page and I just cannot get the page breaks right.
I have a flowed layout with two adjacent subforms which form my columns. In these column subforms I fill lots of data from XML.
Problem 1 is: At the end of the page I miss about 5 lines. They vanish in the page break.
Problem 2 is: My second column starts getting filled only on the second page (which happens to be the page where the first column ends).
I also tried this with one table with exactly one row. But there all lines after the first page disappear and I get empty pages instead.
Has anyone ever come across this problem?
What is a good safe way to build dynamic 2-column forms?
    Ulrich

    Hi Paul,
the former. It is NOT like in a newspaper where the content runs from left to right from one column into the next and finally into the leftmost column of the next page.
Im my case the content of the 2 columns is completly separat from each other: The data in the left column is distincly left-column-only data. As is the data in the right column distinctly right-column-only data.
Actually it is not even sure, that the left column is longer than the right.
It is absolutly o.k. to have  3 pages where the left column is empty and only the right column is filled.
An example would be: Technical data of two articles to be compared: Left is the Mercedes-data and right is the BMW-data.
