Wrapping a Logo accross a photo of golf ball

1.Is it possible to make a logo which is in Illustrator (vector format) appear to be wrapped around a photograph of a golf ball using only Illustrator CS4?
2.Is there an effect/method I could apply to this logo (now appearing to wrap around the ball) that would make it appear dimpled like the golf ball?
Thanks in advance

Draw a vector path with no fill or stroke to exact size of the golfball
Select the logo and this path(this path helps the warp define the bounding box of your warp)
Object >> Envelope Distort > Make with warp
Dimples would be easier in photoshop, by creating shadow and highlight and setting blending modes of for those layers. In illustrator for this simple golfball image, you could copy the image, paste a copy in front of the logo, and set the transparency mode to multiply.

I need to add a logo to 500 photos and I would like to use lightroom. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
The output should be individual photos in JPG format and I need to batch this project.

Search for making a droplet in PS, and then using a droplet as an
export action in LR. I've never personally done it, but it's supposed
    to work.
OR .. investigate using LR2/Mogrify plugin to add a
watermark/copyright to images, again as an export in LR (no PS needed)

  • CS 4 Wrapping a logo around a bottle

I am trying to remember how to wrap a logo around a bottle and can't remember how to do it. It isn't working with warp in photoshop. I have the text rasterized since it was created on a PC and don't have the matching fonts on the Mac. Help please? Thank you.

Several ways but next time you should have them outline the text and not rasterize it.
But since it is done then you can place the logo image under a closed path shaped like a can and Use Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Top Object
But before doing so copy the can shape and you might want to fill the copy which you send to the back and fill it wih a gradient and the set the top object with the distorted log to multiply in the transparency panel
Or use Use Effect>3D>Revolve and then use the Map art Feature
You have to turn your logo into a symbol but
if it has an opaque background you have to
Copy it it and paste in front or paste in back
then select both and make the top one an opacity mask by going to the Transparency and from the flyout choose Opacity Mask Make
and the choose clip and invert to make the background transparent then make the art a symbol
Then map the symbol to your 3D can  as such
If you need a tutorial I will do a video later but perhaps someone else can explain it better.

  • Text will not wrap around a photo in indesign cs3?

we have tried EVERYTHING. we use adobe indesign for our school newspaper and for the past 3 days we have been trying to get one of the articles (text) to wrap around a photo.
the photo is a simple rectangle shape. for all of the other pages, the text wraps around photos perfectly fine. but for some reason on this one page it will not wrap around any picture at all.
of course "text wrap" is selected for the photo and we also tried going to the text frame options and unchecked ignore text wrap. that still didn't work.
we tried putting it on "detect edges" and that also did not work. ):
please please please if you have any suggestions, add them!!! we really need to fix this issue because this page needs these pictures!

I just encountered the same problem, the text did not wrap around the image whatever i did. I found the solution on my problem, that i had an imagebox underneath the image, which i was not aware of. I discovered it when i deleted first the textframes and the image. After i deleted the second imagebox the text wrapped around the image as i wanted it!

  • I know I'm dumb but I have a wedding photo I'd like to put on facebook but I need to include the logo of the photgrapher on the photo and I cant figure out how to get it on there.

I would like to post a photo by a professional photographer and need to have her logo on my picture to do so.  I cannot figure out how to add the logo to the photo.

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
you can use third party software - <a href="http://web.me.com/larryhn/iPhoto_08_(version_7.x.x)_FAQ/Graphic_programs.html"> click here for links to some to consider.</a>

  • I'm trying to apply a logo graphic to a photo?

I'm brand new to Adobe Photoshop Elements and also not very handy with computers.... I can't figure out how to add my logo to my photos, any help would be much appreciated?

Select the new layer with the logo (use Window> Layers if you don't see this). Click the Move tool and the logo will be selected. You can now move it by clicking in the centre and dragging it around, or resize it by clicking and dragging the anchor points. Hold down the Shift key while doing this to maintain the proportions.

  • Photo-wrapped cover and matching dust jacket

Photo-wrapped to me means the photo on the front of the cover wraps around to the back cover. If you remove the dust cover and lay it out, the photo is like a panorama, from front to back.
Is that the way it works, and if so, how do you lay it out in iPhoto? Or do you need Aperture? It says you need iphoto 09, and I have that, but cannot figure out how to do the photo-wrap cover.

a photo wrapped cover is only available for iPhoto '09 - it has a full color dust cover and a laminated full color book cover - see specs here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3412 -- see samples layouts here - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/
Aperture and iPhoto '08 have full color dust covers (like iPhoto '09) a foil stamped linen book cover - see sample layouts here - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/pmwiki.php?n=Main.IPhoto08
Aperture 2 and iPhoto '08 use the same exact specs - iPhoto '09 has the linen cover replaced with a full color laminated cover
See the iPhoto book tutorial here - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#books
And you can do a sample book and preview it with these instructions - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - to see the final result - and you should do so before ordering and save the resulting PDF for reference

  • Logo w/Photo Animation

I have seen the ipod commercial with the album covers building a city as well as the Heald College logo being built with photos. Does anyone know how this was accomplished?
I want to build a simple logo with photos and video with limited movement to show our logo.
I have After Effects and Motion. Which program would be the best approach and is there any websites with tips?
    Thanks,
    Mark

I didn't work on the ad, so I can only speculate, but if I were trying to achieve that effect, I'd be heading towards after effects. Depending how fancy you wanted it, you could do it in Motion, but AE might give you more options, especially if you want to do anything in 3D.
What I'd be doing is building the logo out of photos as static 3D layers in AE. Then I'd be playing around with some camera passes to reveal the logo in a cool way. That's the short answer, which could get infinitely longer depending on how familiar with AE you are.
You might want to try CreativeCow.net or similar site that has specific VisFX forums and tutorials. If you're an AE Newbie, they even have an AE Basics forum which is good for plain english explanations of things.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to apply image (logo) to imported 3ds object?

I have a 3ds model of a golf ball I purchased. It imports properly into my Photoshop CC. I haven't been able to figure out how to apply an image (my logo) to the surface of the golf ball. Also, the golf ball has a dimpled surface so I will want the image to follow the contours of the ball, as if it would look if the logo were painted onto a real golf ball.
EDIT: Also, I want to keep the golf ball as a 3d object so I can animate it in a scene.
    Thanks, Jerry

Mylenium, thanks for your response but unfortunately I'm still missing something here. I have two problems:
    1. I don't understand how to size the logo to only cover a small portion of the golf ball. Because of the other problem I'll describe in 2) below, I simplified my test by trying this on a basic PS sphere. I loaded the logo image into the diffuse texture but it wraps the sphere. I tried editing the texture thinking I could fix it by using Transform scale, but that is greyed out. So, how do I cause the logo to apply to a small portion of the surface (as a traditional golf ball logo would appear)?
    2. Perhaps the bigger issue here is when I attempt to do this with the golf ball 3ds model instead of the PS sphere, the wrapped logo appears to be sitting somewhere between the outer surface of the ball and the inner core. In other words, the wrapped logo has a very sporadic appearance where it shows up in some dimples but not others. It isn't just applying to the surface of the ball. Thinking this might have been a problem with the .3ds model I acquired an .obj golf ball from a different source but it exhibited exactly the same problem.
I'm experienced with PS and 3D in a couple of other programs, but new to 3D in PS. I appreciate your help with this.

  • Problem with photos in iWeb

When I import a photo into my iWeb page, it does not scroll with the text, it stays at the same place on the page. Every time I add more text, I have to move the photos. When I select the text it does not select the photo as well. When I upload the page, the photo is not always in exactly the same place as in iWeb, usually a couple of lines different. I've googled the problem and searched the forum but can't find an answer.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Select the photo and type Command+X to copy/delete it. Next, put your cursor in the text box, make sure you have the text cursor showing as if you were about to insert text,
and paste the photo. Then go to the Inspector/Text/Wrap pane and select the type of text wrap you want.
The photo will now scroll with the text as you add new text.

  • I am unable to wrap text around image.

I have posted one typical page on our website with one photo, a main heading and some text.  I have struggled for several days, trying to wrap the text around the photo and allow some space between the photo and the text.  I have studied numerous books and tutorials on the css box model but they are all so entirely different in the words they use and the teaching approach that my mind is in a whirling fog of contradictory information.
Our website is at www.endangeredspecies.com.  There will be thousands of individual pages about different plants with this same format which will be accessed by hypertext references from various indexes.

You just need to float your image left or right:
    img {
        float: left;
        margin-right: 10px;
        margin-bottom: 5px;

  • Syncing Photos from iPhone 5 to iPhoto on Macbook Air

I have synced my photos from my iPhone 5 to my Macbook Air through iPhoto to free up storage.  I do not have a single picture in my camera roll, but on my iPhone in storage settings, it says that Photos and Camera are still taking up 7.2GB of memory (Specifically: Photo Library - 7.2GB, Synced from iTunes Library - 0.7 KB, and Shared Photo Stream - 4.1 KB).  How do I completely delete this photos off of my iPhone to free up storage without erasing them from my iPhoto on my Macbook?

Check Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library (Beta)  = "Off"
You may then need to reset the iPhone.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
iCloud Photo Library is not on your Mac yet.
