Wraptor DCP cropping image in cinema projection

Aside from the major problems with both MediaEncoder's DCP Wraptor preset crashing if you try and run it through a Premiere project, I have been able to create a DCP from a ProRes version of my project. However, testing the DCP today at a cinema with a Christie projector and a GDC Cinema Server, the image projected on the screen was only the upper-left quadrant of my film, which it centered in the silver screen at the very bottom. Again, the image is not reduced or shrunk, but is rather only the upper-left quadrant of my film. 3/4 of the image is missing.
There are no options I can see on the DCP setting that should make any difference. It should have taken my ProRes 1920x1080 version of the film (which looks fine, nothing cropped or missing) and converted it as it says it can. The preview window of MediaEncoder does not show any issues. What is going on and how do I fix this? The premiere for this film is in a week and I have limited ability to keep testing it at the theater.
MediaEncoder version is 2014.2
Generated on iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB

Update:
the company that makes the DCP plugin for AME gave me access to their DCP player program. It only runs for 30 days but worked to play the files. They looked fine. However, they simply don't work on the projector.
I Am uploading my DCP to them so they can look at it as well. I have also been in contact with a projector expert and he says the he has major issues with the Adobe/Wraptor DCP system. Of the last three he made and projected, one was substandard and had major quality issues, one had some compatibility issues and only one was working properly. He Also recomended OpenDCP and there is a perfect tutorial for it on Vimeo. He said the quaity was much better with it.
I am in the process of making one more test but using OpenDCP to do it and may jetison Wraptor's plugin. AME/Wraptoo crashes every single time when you try and run it from a Premire timeline, even on three different machines. I'm getting very discouraged with Adobe's reliability for pro work.
I will redo the test with OpenDCP andet you know how the simulator goes as well as the projector test asson as I can get to them. I should have the aoftware test done by Monday. Will try and get back to the theater by midweek.

    I'm editing a wedding that I shot for a family member, But when I play it the top of the image is cropped off in the veiwing window but it shows the whole image in the project strip. When I make a DVD with it transfer the whole image or will it be the chopped off image and how do I make sure it is the whole image ?

    What version of iMovie are you using?
    For 9.09..
    If the image is not 720p, you might have to crop it to have freehand control over which bit gets cut off.
    How to crop it...
    In the project window hover your cursor over a section of the clip in the bottom right corner as seen below:
    Click on the cog and open up Cropping,Ken Burns and Rotation.
    Click on Crop and drag and set to where you want it to be cropped, then click Done. (Because mine isn't 720p, iMovie automatically makes it so I cannot include the black border. If you do not mind this click Allow Black.)
    Glad if this helped! Please rate up.

  • Missing Wraptor DCP Format for Export

    Good morning.
    I have a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit and a new install of Premiere Pro CC 2014 8.1.0 (81) Build.  When opening a previous project from Premiere Pro CC I do not have the Wraptor DCP format for exporting.  If I create a new project and sequence and dump a video file on the timeline and try and export it's still not there.  I checked the plug-ins/common folder and I do have the Wraptor.prm file in there.   I've searched and searched the web and have not seen an issue like this before. I did see something from Oct about it not being supported yet, but I have a second Windows machine (Windows 7 64bit) that I installed PPro on and it's there.  I should note that in Encore (build 8.1.0.122) I'm missing the Cinema System Preset with Wraptor DCP too.  Is there a prerequisite for getting the DCP option that I missed?  I don't remember doing anything special on the other machine for it.  Also, to note, I have uninstalled both and reinstalled to make sure it wasn't a botched install.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Solved my own issue.  Apparently in the barrage of Windows updates I had not yet grabbed SP1.  Once that downloaded Wraptor DCP was now a selection in both PPro and Encore.  Anyone else that comes across this in Windows 7, make sure you have SP1 installed.

  • 23.976 with Wraptor DCP

    I have a project in Premiere Pro CC 2014 with a frame rate of 23.976. I recorded the footage with the Canon 5D Mk3 and this framerate came out of the camera with the 24fps setting.
    Now I will have a screening at a local cinema, which requests a DCP for its digital cinema projector. As I recently upgraded to the 2014 version of PP, the Wraptor DCP export setting comes very handy. The problem is, the only framerate that DCP offers, is 24fps. Is that a problem when exporting? Will I have timing/sync problems?
    Hopefully someone can answer that question, thanks in advance!

    Your DCP will work BUT there is huge caveat.  If you send the rapture plugin a source file that is not already at 24.00 fps it will interpolate frames to get you 24.00.  In other words, it doesn't change the length at all, it simply messes with your lovingly crafted video to spit something out at 24,00.  A better bet is for you to do the conversion from 23.976 to 24.00 yourself.  A simple workflow on Mac is to take a ProRes master of your video, open that in Cinema Tools, conform it to 24.00.  This will make your file playback at 24.00. It's a fraction of a percent slower and will lengthen the TRT by a fraction, but if you make sure your audio files are baked into the master they will stay in sync.    Then, run your file through Wraptor and it won't mess with your frames.  BTW, neither Adobe or Wraptor explain this anywhere, it took some work by very careful folks who tested it to figure out how it works.  I find in infuriating that they refuse to publish proper documentation for a feature they constantly mention in their marketing.

  • Exported Wraptor dcp File-Size difference and quality loss

    Hi,
    I am currently working on exporting a short trailer (45 sec) to wraptor-dcp with AME straight from an After Effects project.
    In the export-preferences the estimated files size is about 8000MB (check out the screenshot).
    But the finalized dcp only has a size of 180MB. That irritated me so I downloaded a demo of easyDCP to check the material. The dcp is working fine but the quality is a mess even in comparison to a small mp4 (take a look at the second comparison screenshot: dcp left and mp4 (H264) on the right). Gradients are destroyed and chunky.
    Also with the color transformation off, the colors feel dull and only fit if I choose 'X'Y'Z » R'G'B (P3). Should it be that way? How can I enhance the quality of the dcp?
    All the best,
    Jay
    1 Export Settings (I just choose the wraptor setting in AME '2K Digital Cinema Flat' and did not change any settings)
    2. Comparison dcp / mp4 (H264)

    Will there be a new update coming soon?
    Problem: Wraptor DCP will play on GDC-TMS 8.0 at one theater and will not play at another theater running GDC-TMS 9.0
    Identified: Xsize/Ysize problems when reading on GDC-TMS 9.0. XOsize is wacked!
    Although GDC-TMS is part of the problem...please help fix the Wraptor DCP part of the problem!

  • Watermarking cropped images in Aperture

    I've looked around and have found people having issues with watermarks but didn't seem to find my problem. My issues it that when I export a group of images in order to put a watermark on them, any images that have been cropped get a watermark that is sized to the master image dimensions and looks huge. I've tried both checking the "scale" option and not but the result is the same. Hopefully this is just a matter of a check box or two... any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Select all the Images in a Project and while holding down the "Option" key run "Photos➞Generate Preview".  ("Option" changes "Photos➞Update Preview" to  "Photos➞Generate Preview").
    Any change?

  • Crop image using 2 clicked points on image.

    HI,
     I want to crop an image  based on 2 clicked points.
    For ex:
    this is an image to be crop:
    take 1st click point as center and 2nd click point as radius and crop that part as square and forms new image.
    And new image should be something like this:
     This is what I want.
    I have done getting center point using code below:
    OpenFileDialog op = new OpenFileDialog();
    ImageBrush ib = new ImageBrush();
    private void Image_MouseLeftButtonDown_1(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e)
    op.Title = "Select a picture";
    op.Filter = "All supported graphics|*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.png|" +
    "JPEG (*.jpg;*.jpeg)|*.jpg;*.jpeg|" +
    "Portable Network Graphic (*.png)|*.png";
    if (op.ShowDialog() == true)
    imgBackground.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(op.FileName));
    private BitmapSource CutImage(BitmapImage img, Point p1, int width, int height)
    return new CroppedBitmap(img, new Int32Rect(Convert.ToInt32(p1.X), Convert.ToInt32(p1.Y), width, height));
    double xAxis = 0.00;
    double yAxis = 0.00;
    private void imgBackground_MouseLeftButtonDown(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e)
    Point center = e.GetPosition(imgBackground);
    Point border = e.GetPosition(imgBackground);
    xAxis = center.X;
    yAxis = center.Y;
    ib.ImageSource = CutImage(new BitmapImage(new Uri(op.FileName)), new Point(xAxis, yAxis), 300, 300);
    CanvasPanel.Background = ib;
    XAML code:
    <Button Height="70" Width="70" Margin="6,1,892,929" Name="btnBrowseImage">
    <Image x:Name="browseIcon" Source="D:\WPF\Projects\TabControlVRI_18_12_2014\Images\img.png" MouseLeftButtonDown="Image_MouseLeftButtonDown_1"/>
    </Button>
    <Image Name="imgBackground" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center" Height="799" Width="799" MouseLeftButtonDown="imgBackground_MouseLeftButtonDown" Stretch="Uniform">
    </Image>
    I hope now question is understandable.
    Plz, suggest me the way to get this.
    Regards,
    Viswa.

    Hi,
    I want to do in WPF coding.
    I need to add that cropped image as background to canvas in WPF.
    User have to select image and he wants to crop image using 2 points then it has to reflect as background to canvas.

  • Desktop can not see all images in aperture project

    When trying to change the background picture desktop lists my aperture projects but only displays a subset (5 of 114) of the images in one project. Also have 2 of 8, 152 of 152, and 0 of 12 in different projects.

    It's possible you don't have Previews for the "missing" images (Aperture shares the Preview, not the full image).
    What happens if you update every image in the Project's Preview?
    To update all the JPEG previews in a project
    In the Library inspector, Control-click the project whose JPEG previews you want to update, then choose Update Previews from the shortcut menu.

  • Aperture 3 project does not display any images in one Project

    This is a strange situation.  The bullets below outline the situation:
    The project does not display any images
    When I place the pointer over the project it shows there are 500+ images
    I have located the RAW images stored in my aperture library
    I can pull up the images using a smart folder and searching for photos taken on the event day
    This is happening only to one of my projects that I know of (weird!!)
    I have tried to 're-add' the image by both importing and dragging and dropping into the project, neither works
    I tried the following basics:
    Fixed permissions
    Rebuilt the database
    Tried to re-import the data, but when I have the 'don't import duplicates' these are not an option
    Found the images in my Aperture library
    I created another project and drug all of the images into that project
    Any idea how I can fix this?
    My fear is that if I delete the original project, the original master images will be deleted.

    The most common cause of this is some sort of stuff in the search box at the top of the browser that you don't expect to be there. Just clear it and all your images should show up.
    RB
    One note - if you drug your images from one project to another it moves them vs copies them unless you hold down the option key.

  • How can I add an image to a project and change it at runtime?

    I'm using JBuilder6 and I thought I saw a control to add images but I can't find it. I also wanted to be able to change the control at runtime. Also how should I specify the path so it knows how to use it? I hate to hard code one in. Since this is probably gonna be ported to other OS does Java have a way around this? I was going to put the images into my project's directory. For me to be able to just include the file w/the extension do I need to put it in the src folder or will the main directory be accessible?

    To add an image, or other source file with JBuilder, you have a button call "Add to project", his icon is a folder with a green cross.
    To call the Image os independant, I sugest you to put your images in a folder "image" in your project folder. Then to call them, you could use this :
    image=new ImageIcon(AClass.class.getResource("image"+java.io.File.separator+imageName));Where AClass is a class of your project, in general, the class where you call getRessource;
    "image" is the name of the under folder where are the image in your project folder;
    imageName is a string with the name of the file witch contains the image, for exemple : "my image.gif"I hope I help you.

  • RH HTML 9-chm file How to change the Shared Path of all images in entire project.

    Dear alll,
    Previously, I inserted all images to my project from a shared folder with path A. But now I could not access to path A anymore, so I created a folder with the same name in path B which have the same images.
    Now I need to update images and I cannot synchronize them from the current folder with path B.
    I right-click an image in Project Manager pod, select Properties and then I saw this image has an attribute Shared Path is path A. There is any way to change this Shared Path to path B for all images in the project at a time ?
    Anyone experiments it, please help me. Thanks.

    Given you posted on the weekend, I would expect everyone to be off doing weekend-y things, rather than work-related things.
    I don't use shared resources, but perhaps this topic, specifically the Replace Link entry might help?

  • How do I save a photo after I have zoomed in on it?  I want to save the zoom-in as a new photo and can't work out why this doesn't work the same way saving a cropped image, or adjusted image does.  Thank you.

    How do I save an image after I have zoomed in on it?  I can't work out why I can't save a zoom-in the same way
    I can save a cropped image or an adjusted image. Thanks, Lily A.

    Hi Matt, thanks for your reply.  Have realised that Zoom in Iphoto is just  a viewing tool and not an editing tool.
    Was creating beautiful abstractions by zooming in and wanted to create a new image of the result.   Have since discovered that cropping after zooming takes me a little way to where I want to go but it isn't the same effect.  Will perhaps have to try to create it when actually shooting.  Am doing a photoshop course in February and maybe will learn a bit more then, too.  Am pretty much an amateur just finding my way.
    Thanks again,
    Best, Lily

  • I have been editing project for two weeks and now I get ghosts of other images fromt eh project coming up in the wrong places even though the thumbnail looks right. Help.

    Help. I have been editing a project for two weeks and now it gets ghosts of ohter images from the project coming up in the wrong places. The thumbnail has the correct image but the image either does not display and its black or an old image or another one shows.

    When I have problems like this I do two things. First I shut down and restart iMovie. Sometimes that rejuggles the date. But I am sure you have been doing that in such a long project.
    The Second thing I do is delete iMovie preferences, which can get corrupted.

  • Exporting projects that reference images in other projects

    Hello, all. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had luck exporting projects that reference images in another project. I've just given this a try, and I get empty images (dotted gray outlines that can't be multi-selected and can't be "managed" as referenced files, even though it knows where the original file should be).
    Here's how I have things set up:
    1. main project with referenced images
    2. secondary project with an album that references images in the main project (secondary project shows 0 images, but album in secondary project shows N images)
    I export the secondary project, and import it into another Aperture instance. All images show up as dotted outlines.
    Furthermore, if I go into list view, the Activity Monitor does something bizarre. It shows the # thumbnails remaining as a moving target. See the video below for an example.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
    Screen captures:
    Missing images as dotted outlines:

    Small video of thumbnail creating bug:
    http://echeng.com/temp/aperture-thumbnail-bug.mov

    I do this sort of thing constantly and things a whole lot more complicated. It works fine on all three of my laptops and my macpro. I actually just tried to simulate the exact conditions you describe and I will tell you what happened.
    1)Create new empty project in library A called "export"
    2)Create new empty album in that project.
    3)Dragged multiple images from different projects (all referenced) into that new album.
    4)Used file->export project with the consolidate images checked. Imported that project into a new/different library.
    All of the images showed up and they all showed up as managed masters as expected. So I then relocated the masters from that project and did the same thing in reverse, back to the old library. I ended up with another project called "export (1)" with all of the images referenced and having nothing to do with the original project or the original referenced masters - as expected.
    I did the testing not to figure it out but to validate that nothing had changed or broken since the last update.
    You are either not doing what you think you are doing or your library/library is forked - you may want to try a rebuild or just create a brand new set of libraries and try to validate that it will work with a brand new set of libraries to try to isolate the issue to 1 - your existing libraries or 2 - your installation.
