WRE54G keeps getting Red LED

I'm having some problems with my Linksys WRE54G connecting to my WPA enabled, Linksys WRT400N. I've setup the WRE54G successfully (able to access to web setup page via 192.168.1.240 and configured it manually, I moved it to the part of house that I wanted to and was able to successfully connect with the Wireless G laptop with good connect rates (ranging between 80-130Mbps). The WRE54G had two good blue solid signals. However, this morning I noticed that it had a Red LED and now I am unable to connect via the web page to check the configuration. I reset the WRT400N and I'm still getting the Red LED. I am using Channel 1 which I've heard shouldn't be used although frankly I didnt see a way on the WRT400N to force to broadcast on a specifc channel if you're using a Mixed Network mode.
Do I need to setup a static IP address on the router for this device (I only have 6 devices connected to the network so I didnt think this would be a problem for a .240 address).
Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Make sure that you have assigned the static gateway on the Range Expander.Try to change the channel on the router and range expander.On the router,change the Radio band for 2.4GHz to Standard,Change the Security to WEP.Now,Power cycle the router and range expander.Now,check.

Can't send text message. Keep getting red exclamation.

On certain messages, I keep getting a red exclamation mark when I try and send my text. Doesn't happen to all my texts. What's happen? I can receive messages from this person, just can't respond.

There is necessary to have valid "cellular"or "WiFi" data connection for to send and receive " i Messages".
So to fix this issue try to basic Troubleshooting that is follow below :
* WiFi networks and connections check.
* Your cellular data .
* Your i Message is turned "ON" condition or not , if not go to "settings" and then tap to "message" option.
* Your i Message registration should be validates for using i Message application.
* Verify that the "Caller ID" is correct in "Settings" >> "Messages" >> "Receive At" >> "Caller ID".
* After that "press" and "hold the Sleep/Wake" until the Apple logo appears then try to send your message again .It will work again OK

I keep getting red/pink lines on my screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

My Mac Book Pro is a first generation which I purchased in 7/2008. It's been great up until a month ago when it started having redish pink lines appear all over the screen. The lines will appear sporadically and then go away. Sometimes they appear for up to a half hour. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if theres a fix to it? Thanks

This looks as though you may have a failing GPU.
You can try these resets that may help, but it looks like a hardware failure.
You may want to take it in to an Apple store genius bay, they will diagnose it for free and give you your options.

MS6330 get different LED readings

Hi there,
I have a MS6330, and i keep getting different LEd readings. sometimes i get 0010, sometimes 0101 and other times 0110. i have looked at the diagnostics for this but i can't get the pc any futher. i have cleared cmos with jumper but no good. i have stripped down to just CPU, fan, 1ram stick and VGA card.
Any ideas?

Let's get this clear:
1. No addition of new hardware since a year or so ...
2. You cleared CMOS with the jumper so we are assuming default settings ...
3. You tested all components separately in another computer (so you know for sure, for instance, that your graphics card is not dead);
4. you checked the HSF, cleaned and re-installed it in the correct way after applying thermal grease ...
5. You checked the board and other parts for physical signs of damage (burn stains, bulging capacitors, etc.)
6. On start-up the normal sequence of red/green leds will be seen but after about 30 secs of ) ) ) ) the system will freeze and video will be gone ...

Hi there,
If you have a closer look at message you are receiving it already states the problem. The domain 71-12-190-31.dhcp.leds.al.charter.com is blacklisted by spamhaus.org (is in an RBL).
Your TB is (my guess) setup to send the message directly to the recipient.
As a rule of thumb the majority of mail sent from a dynamic dns address (the kind of address you are getting from your ISP) is blacklisted as a precaution against spam abuse due to virus/trojan infected PC's.
Nothing you can change there. Stop sending the message directly and use your ISP's account instead.

Follow the steps below to try and bring the BlackBerry Q5 back to life:
Ensure that BlackBerry Link is installed on the PC or Mac OS
Ensure the computer has an internet connection.
Launch the BlackBerry Link Software.
Note: A backup of the BlackBerry device should be tried before a reload.
Turn off the BlackBerry device. Make sure there are no flashing LEDs and that the LCD is not still being lit by the backlight. If there are any flashing LEDs, hold the power button for 15 seconds until the LEDs stop.
Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer.
When prompted with Cannot communicate with device, click Restore and then click yes allow the update to be downloaded and installed on the BlackBerry device.
If the restore button is not seen press the vertical dots in the lower right corner of BlackBerry Link and select disconnected device. Highlight the disconnected device you are working with and attempt steps 4 to 6 again.
If the issue still persists, then I suggest contacting your network service provider for repair options.

Why after so many updates does address book keep getting stuck?

Address book is easily the most troublesome app in OSX. My current frustration with it is that it keeps getting stuck in endless loops, requiring it to be killed and restarted, and most likely introducing more errors in the database that make for more troubles, and so on ad nauseum. Really, Apple; couldn't you make an address book that "just works" by now? Maybe it should have been kept simpler?

I'm pretty skeptical of attributing this to anything peculiar to my current environment. I've observed continuous bad behavior by Address Book as long as there has been Mac OSX in the early 00's, often involving its interactions with Mail and Calendar. For the longest time, it couldn't undo, which made for some nasty mistakes.
But here's my report. I see a few red items that appear to reflect outdated things that haven't been removed or the continuous OSX complaining about Flash player versions. Let me know if you see something problematic...

Email message keep getting marked unread automatically?

So I've been noticing recently that message that I've already read or have marked as read, often keep coming back marked unread again. This may sometimes happen 5 or 10 minutes later.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Phone stuck on loading screen, red LED flashing, will not turn on.

So I just bought this phone two days ago and have not dropped it or anything, it keeps flashing on the loading screen then just turns off and the red LED light goes off like I am receiving a message. It will not start up, i've tried charging it some more, i tried removing the battery and yeah.. i'm just not sure what else to do.
I've had a horrible time with this phone(The guy I purchased it from told me it was activated, then when I called virgin a day later they told me he forgot to...), and im really not sure what to do, please help :/

We can certain try troubleshooting. I know that some people may just prefer to send it back if it's not working when they first get it. The steps to reload the OS are as follows:
First download and install the Desktop Manager from here (4.7 without Media Manager is recommended): https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Next download and install the handheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
Afterwards try reloading the OS by connecting the device to your computer, open the Desktop Manager, then go into the Application Loader. This will open a wizard that steps you through reloading the OS onto your device. More detailed steps can be found in here:

BlackBerry Z10 won't turn on and red led blinks 4 times

Hi all,
Yesterday my BlackBerry Z10 suddently turned off, I turned it on again and it worked fine for a few minutes (battery was around 90% full), then it turned off again and I couldn't turn it on anymore! The red led is blinking 4 times with a 3 seconds interval between each 4 blinks sequence. I tried to charge the battery, connect it to the computer, turn it on without the battery (with charger on), with no success. Sometimes, it shows the BlackBerry logo, or even the logo with the % loading, but then it turns off in the middle of the process, on random percentages.
Does anyone know what happened to the phone and how to solve this issue?

Mine keeps turning off... I called them and they told me to send the phone to Blackberry by mail to check what's wrong and that when the phone gets there, they do a complete evaluation and in 30 days they send the phone back... In other words, I have to buy another phone! Blackberry assistance is useless...

My Macbook is extremely slow, hot, keeps getting stuck

Problem description:
My Macbook Pro keeps getting slower. I get the rainbow for everything. Even typing this up took me 10 mins. It gets hot and fan goes crazy when I close the lid. I can’t copy files as finder keeps closing and re-opening when I start thereby cutting off whatever progress my file transfer has made. I erased all data (using the CMD+R function when restarting) and reinstalled using a time machine backup but still nothing. I have no idea if its the hard drive or processor or RAM.

Open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and set CPU to display values from high to low.
When the MBP gets hot, post images of iStat menus and Activity Monitor.
Increasing RAM to 8GB would probably be beneficial. The best source of Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.

My iMessage is stuck on the wrong phone number and I keep getting coded text messages from SMS Info.

I recently switched the sim card in my iPhone when I moved from one country to another. When I put my local sim card in iMessage would not activate (just staying on 'waiting for activation' forever). This has not been a problem before. When I went to send/receive I saw the phone number there is still on the old one from the country I left. This is not the case in phone settings when I look for 'my phone number' or in facetime, which recognise the new number.
Plus I keep getting text messages from 'SMS Info'. They are just code, except that in there my new phone number is included among the code. The only other discernible characters are the letters 'REG-RESP?'. Perhaps this is something to do with an error in registering my new number.
I have tried-
1. Turning it off and on again.
2. Turning iMessage off and on again. This results in the usual 'it may cost you to reactivate with an SMS' popup on my phone screen, then a popup saying there has been a mistake, then one of these coded SMS messages.
3. Doing the above in combination with logging in and out of my apple id (as suggested on another forum post here)
4. Removing the new sim card and replacing the old one. Then turning off iMessage, replacing the new sim card and turning iMessage back on (of course powering the phone down and up)
None of these remedies have worked. The iMessage problem is affecting all sorts of my messages. Windows keep popping up saying that I may have to pay for an SMS to activate iMessage, except that it doesn't activate. The SMS messages from 'SMS Info' keep coming and I can't seem to get any of it to stop an just work normally.
I have looked in these forums already and can't see the same problem elsewhere. If someone could figure this out I would be most grateful.

When a Mac is "registered" for iMessages account with an Apple ID the Serial Number of the Mac is used to create an Auth Token as it is called for the Messages app that allows that Mac to work.
I would guess a similar process of linking the Number of the iPhone to a Hardware fact about the device is also in place.
I would contact Apple Support and check with them. (you might need to speak to a Level 2 person as Level 1 people are script led and try to fit everything into Software or Hardware categories where as sorting and Apple ID (which the Number is in this case) is normally Free).

HT4943 Error during download - I keep getting this error message when installing or updating apps

I subscribed to wired magazine and I am trying to download the first mag, however I keep getting an error message stating "error during download, try again later". I also get an error message when trying to resume paused updating of apps. I've tried turning ipad2 off and then on again but this doesn't work. Can anyone help?

There are all basic troubleshooting steps that have worked for other users in the past that were having problems downloading and updating apps. YMMV .....
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
