WRE54G v1.0 - Gone, Baby, Gone... help!

It's been working for years, but suddenly the light is red and I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it. I can't access 192.168.1.240, explorer says the page does not exist. Of course I tried the reset button. Then I tried downloading the installation and went through that but at the end it tells me my range expander has to be plugged in (it is) so it's not even seeing it. Is it fried? Is there something I should be doing? Nothing had changed in my network, it just stopped working.

When you say "search for the linksys unsecured network", you mean on my available wireless network list, right? I found one and tried connecting to it - but it had "limited or no connectivity".
Then I didn't really understand what you meant by command prompt - where would that be - I've never pinged anything before.
Also, I thought I couldn't press the auto config button if I was using WEP - do I need to change that first?

On Lion 10.7.x you need to hold the CMD+r Keys insyead of notting from an Instsall Disc, but try that & step 3 onward...

Without the serial number your FCE disc is useless and nobody here can help.
Your only chance, if you have the receipt or can prove your purchase is to contact Apple and hope they may be able to help.

All media files lost from folder while editing! Entire movie now gone HELP!

After a dozen painstaking hours of editing a movie (iMovie 3.0.3) on my iMac G4 with OS 10.2.8, all of my media files mysteriously vanished from the media folder. The trash is empty both in iMovie and in my desktop trash. Files nowhere to be found. They were there one second... the next, gone!
I was undoing a transition deletion at the time and may have hit command-x instead of command-z or some other crazy key combo. I have no idea how this happened of what happened for that matter. I need these files! Can they be recovered somehow? My available disc space has changed to about 5GB more. I quit out of iMovie hoping to not save these changes to no avail.
Is there a utility that can recover lost files? I'm not too knowledgable in this department. YIKES! Has this happened before to anyone?

Older versions of iMovie had a bug that could delete all the clips in the Media folder, causing the loss of everything. That may have happened to your project.
If it helps, it's probably not something you did. That version of iMovie did it on its own. It can follow emptying the iMovie trash.
Emptying the iMovie trash could cause lots of different problems; that was the worst of several. Fortunately, iMovie 5 and iMovie 6 do not have this bug.

Iphoto is gone HELP!!!!!!!

I logged in and my mac said iPhoto had not been set up i typed in iPhoto set it up it reovered the photos from i cloud but everything else is gone . I tried doing the rebuild iPhoto library it is not working . I did an update last week for Security 2015-002 , an iMovie update and a safari update and cleaned up my documents folder by deleting unnecessary things please help me recover my photos!

Syncing does not backup photos.
Backing up only backs up the photos taken with the device but is not a solution to maintaining you precious photos.
It is the user's responsibility to copy the photos taken with the device off the device to the computer. Same goes for videos taken with the device.
Media on the device has never been included in a backup.
Sorry, but if you've lost the device (or it's been stolen) and you've failed to manage your data on the device, it is gone.

Export presets are gone - help!

Hiya,
I wanted to export some photos this morning, and created a new preset in order to resize images to fit my digital photo-frame. But when I wanted to apply my new preset, I realised that all presets were gone!
Does anybody know how to get them back? Are they stored somewhere in a plist file that I could recover via TimeMachine?

Thanks a million for that tip. In combination with Time Machine, I was able to recover that file from my backups. Was actually the first time that I had to try Time Machine, and it worked like a charme.

10.4.11 problem - total Desktop reset; all preferences gone - Help!

hey there everyone; longtime listener, firstime caller...... here's my problem:
The entire OS looks like it did when i bought the computer.
Safari's bookmarks are gone and the homepage is set back to "http://livepage.apple.com" All the music in iTunes is gone, Office 2004 isn't in the dock anymore. It looks like the OS completely reset itself.
The rub is, everything is still on the hard drive; Finder tells me so, as does the HD capacity in the "About This Mac" menu.
If I open iTunes from the Dock, the iTunes setup assistant box opens first. I can grab the Word icon from Finder to the Desktop, and double-click it. When it tries to open, a box pops open which says:
"Microsoft Word cannot load the Microsoft Office shared libraries.
The files may have been moved from their original locations. Try..... "
I bought this Mac in 11/06; it is my first ever computer, so I'm pretty green, FYI. Any help on this is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

By any chance, did you rename your home folder (the 'house' icon)? If so, that caused your problem. See this article:

Apps gone help urgent

Help help apps disappeared
Over the last 48 hours my apps one of which is vital for my music and has over 100 songs on disappeared.
I redownloaded them but the songs from the app have gone which resulted in hours of work gone.
Is there any way of getting these songs back. And why did the apps disappear

You tell us ... why did the apps disappear? Were you updating the iOS? Were you syncing and a sync went bad? This must be my day for not having ever heard of things - but I have never heard of someone losing 48 apps with no clue as to why it may have occurred.
Without any more details from you - I suggest trying to restore from a backup. App data is contained in the backup so if you have a recent backup - that would be worth a try.

Right-click (Windows) on one of the tabs that are still visible and then click on Presets. You'll see a checkmark next to the visible tabs.

Upgraded to '09 now ALL my projects are gone HELP - PANIC!

I just upgraded to 09 and now all my projects are gone??? I have time machine running but when I click on that in the projects directory nothing shows up. I think they are all on my HD somewhere but how do i get them BACK into Imovie? It would help if I knew what the file extension is for imovie projects but even if I find them - how do I get them showing up in 09?
Any help is appreciated!

In my case, my projects are in: "home/movies/imovie projects/", try a search in 'Spotlight' type: 'imovie projects.localized', that will find exactly where your projects are located.

XE: apex3.01 upgrading failed--images gone, help!

I just tried upgrade my apex on xe to 3.01, the apexins file works fine, but the step2 : @APEX_HOME/apex/apxldimg.sql APEX_HOME step failed, I can access the login page but the images are gone, and I cannot login.
Please help!!
I unziped apex at c:\oraclexe\apex
some the APEX_HOME should be : c:\oraclexe
I run the script like this:
c:\apex>@c:\oraclexe/apex/apxldimg.sql c:\oraclexe
but after a while it is said:
file not found: /doc_helper/toc3.html.
Does someone have a solution about this? I think the image is the problem.

I remembered when i run the apexins.sql file there's one error message:

Songs gone, help viewer lies.

Ok, so I followed all the steps in help viewer to get my songs back and it doesn't work!!!!!!!!!
And don't tell me to upgrade to the newest version of iTunes because I did, I did everything the Help Viewer said, and my 300+ songs are now GONE.
Anyway to fix this? I swear this is the last time that I'm updating iTunes EVER.
Oh, and my import buttons are all gone. -.-

Mpower max one of the bios gone help me to recover

hello, i was trying to update my bios to version 1.3 from usb.I selected the file from usb and clicked update bios fromflash menu and pc restarted it download the file to %100 and after there is no screen . checked the debug code led it doesnt even working.after 5-6 attemps i am able to switch to other bios now the pc works but what happened to other bios?Is it gone?

the flipping BIOS Switch while in the BIOS to the other in this situation is OK to do as we worked this out as a viable recovery technique when the Z77 mpower boards kept getting a single bricked chip and as the actual way that functions on a BIOS level is the same it should have no problems at all to flip it live to attempt recovery of that bad chip!
