Wreg54g lost connection after router restart

Hi everibody! i need your help if anybody can help me...Recently somebody helped me and installed my Wreg54g.after some time, i had to restart my router so i can connect my phone(it had to be directly to the router..so i had to restart it). after this operation, my range expander lost connection.one light blue, one red..so i pressed that button auto configuration, both lights turned blue, but still i don't have full signal on my comp.what did i do wrong, how can i fix it?

I believe the settings on the range extender had been messed up so much that you press the AUTO Configuration button when you tried to reconnect though that is understandable. What I suggest is you make sure that the wireless internet is working okay through the router then on the WRE54G, configure the wireless settings again manually (without running the set up CD) the same with the router's. Check on the articles below to guide you in setting up the extender manually. By the way, reset first the extender before doing the reconfiguration.

Thanks, helped me figure out a bigger problem there was with my router's access control and all kinds of crazy numbers that needed to be changed, but I got it.

  • Possible fix for OS X 10.5.7,  losing connection after sleep, restart

Possible fix for OS X 10.5.7, Airport, losing connection after sleep, restart, or cold reboot.
Issue: (For OS X 10.5.7 on iMac5,1, Intel Core 2 Duo)
    =============================================
    - After sleep, restart, cold reboot, even though cannot connect to Internet, but the AirPort bars are still full, as if connected.
    - Losing Internet connection after sleep, restart, cold reboot.
    Possible Fix:
1.Open Network Preference, click on the Location drop down list > Edit Location... > click on the wheel button > Duplicate Location.
a)Select this newly setup location; Use Diagnostic button to connect to the internet. Select Network or enter WEP password if necessary.
b)Test to make sure you can connect to a web page.
c)Go to sleep & wake up.
d)This time, the Airport bar will start to show correctly. Before, it will always be full even when not connected. Now there will be no bars or grey out when not connected.
2.On the left hand side of the Network Preference Window, there is a list of services, such as Airport, build-in ethernet, built-in FireWire, bluetooth, etc.
a)Click on the wheel button on the bottom of the service list; select Set Service Order...; move Airport to the top of the list.
b)Delete any services which you are sure that you are not going to use, such as Bluetooth, etc.
3.Pick one of the locations mentioned in #1, and make it sure it is connected. If not, use Diagnostic button. If you have to select Network or enter WEP password to connect, make it so.
a)Check to make sure you can connect to a web page.
4.Go to sleep & wake up. The Airport bar should be filled up quickly. Try to connect to a web page.
5.Restart computer. Test a web page.
6.Shut down & Start computer. Test a web page.
7.When everything is working fine, you can delete the extra location that you created in step #1.
8.Click the lock on the left lower corner of the Network Preference window to safeguard the setting.

If my assessment is correct, the LIDE 200 driver is version 14.8.1 and dated 26-Sep-2008. It is possible that the driver will not work with the latest version of OSX. I would advise that you contact Canon and ask them the question.
(Removed link because of the way Flash drives the Canon site).
It is not uncommon (though irritating) that devices no longer work when an OS is upgraded. One has to ask the question if (or why) the driver was not written in such a way as to be OS version independent.
    Chris
I spoke to Canon over here in Australia. Not helpful at all. In fact they were about as useful as an ashtray on on motorcycle. Having said that the tech seemed to think that there would be an update soon. But that is assuming that Canon are aware that there is a problem with that Scanner under OS X 10.5.7.

  • Computer dsl connection after router hookup

I am very confused.  Have a home computer with dsl connection.  I went thru the CD directions and hooked up my wireless router.  Everything seemed fine, but when I went to go to the internet (aol mail, etc.) my dsl connection was gone.  I lost my dsl connection.  Couldn't get ANY help at the 800 tech support.  So i unplugged the router wires and put everything back the way it was.  Then I could get dsl connection, and went to the online website 24-hour support.  Told them everything that happened, and all I got was "I am sorry for the inconvenience", then silence.
Why do I lose my regular dsl connection after I hook up the wireless router???  Am i doing something wrong?  HELP!

Hey try resetting the router reset button in such a way that power
light is blinking on the router & then do a complete network power
cycle i.e., unplug the power cables from the modem & from the router &
then plug in the power cable to the modem first once all the lights are
solid green you could plug in the power cable to the router & check out
    it will definately work!!
    Configuration for DSL connection:-
Before doing the following steps, you have to connect the modem to the
router's Internet Port and the computer to the Ethernet Port Number 1.
    1. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
    2. Then, unplug the power keep holding down the reset button for
    another 30 Seconds.
    3. Plug back the power back in, and keep holding down the reset button
    for 30 Seconds.
    4. Release the reset button.

Access the setup page of the router by launching an
Browser and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When
it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
empty and provide password as "admin" (Without quotes)
    click on ok.
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
    button.
Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
    - Click on enable
Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN Ip on Status page of router ....
If getting Valid Ip .... try going online
If you are getting Ip - 192.168.1.X ...change the LAN Ip to 192.168.2.1 ....Power cycle for 3-4 minutes ...
    Try going online
If still not working ...use Internet Connection type as PPPOE .... Use Username & Password provided by Service Provider ....
    Click save settings....
Look for WAN IP address again under status page ...

  • Cisco 2611 loosing configuration after router restart

    Hello,
I have a router at a customer that looses its configuration after a restart.
I of course made a write mem, and it looks like this has been before.
Is there anything to check (hard/soft) befoire changing the router?
    thanks in advance
    Pierre Barrat

Check to see the configuration register value. You can do that by issuing the command 'show version'. At the bottom of the output of the command you will see the config-register value. Under normal circumstances this value should be 0x2102. If you see something like 0x2142 it means that the router is going to ignore the start-up configuration.
If the config-register value is indeed incorrect then you need to change it to 0x2102 by:
    Router# copy start run
    Router# config t
    Router(config)# config-register 0x2102
    Router(config)# exit
    Router# wr mem
    Router# reload
After the reload it should come up with the right config; that is if the problem was indeed with the configuration register.

  • Time Machine lost connection after Lion update

Wanted to see if anyone lost the time machine connection after the latest 10.7.1 update released yesterday?  My system couldnt find the drive for it and I had to re-set my time machine and then I could connect.

Some more info might help one of us with possible steps to resolve your problem. Is the external drive firewire, usb or network through airport, port-powered, etc?
What basic troubleshooting did you try?
Does it show up in System profiler? If it does there may not be too serious a problem.
While there are some who've had problems with the latest updates many of us have had no problems but we do empathise with those who have.

My computor crashed. I lost my music from my itune library. After I restarted my computor to work again, I started a new itune library with new songs. When I tried to download my new songs to my iphone, itunes said it had to erase all my old songs in order to install the new songs. Is there a way to install new songs without getting rid of my old songs?

That is the way the iphone works.
You need to copy everything from your backup copy of your computer.

  • Lost connection after wake up (T410)

    Hello,
I have a permanent problem with losing WiFi connection after wake up (from hibernation and suspend). The access connection manager looses connection and cannot connect automatically (although the setting is set so). I have to connect manually every time and mostly even three times before it finally connects. The manager says either "driver was disconnected" or "operation was cancelled".
Is there any workaround, please? It's horrible to wait minute or two before I can use WiFi after the full wake up. In linux everything works fine

    hey teddy_the_bear,
curious to know, when your unit was a mono-boot; did it have the same problem or did the problem start after installing linux ?

  • Lost connection after restart  -- Please Help

Bought 5th gen ipod week ago. Don't use my home computer much:
    - iBook G3
    - OS X 10.2.8
    - iTunes 3
Updated my software, connected the ipod and immediately starting syncing and listening to music. Imported 20 CDs...all good.
Today, computer froze when I tried to eject the ipod. I restarted the computer and when I came back to it, everything is erased from my ipod. Everything still on itunes. Started to Update everything back to the ipod and realized that the ipod was not showing up in my itunes library.
Done the 5 R's, except I can't install the most recent version of itunes because I'm not on OSX 10.3 or above.
Please tell me there's a way to fix this without having to purchase new operating system software.
Thanks to anyone who will respond.

And which iPhoto version did you use before this happened?
If you upgraded from iPhoto 7.1.2 or earlier, you need to run the iPhoto Library Upgrader.  Restore your iPhoto lIbrary from your backup to the state before the upgrade, then download, install, and run the upgrader, use this link  iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrader
If you upgraded from a newer iPhoto version, see this discussion:
Re: It appears my iPhoto Library is corrupt after upgrade ...
Are you seeing a folder "Old Masters", when you are ctrl-clicking your iPhoto Library and using "How Package Contents"?
Also see this discussion:  Re: Yosemite, iPhoto 9.6 upgrade, large photo library is not recognised.

  • 2008 r2 hyper-v guest with static IP always looses network connectivity after every restart - no problem with DHCP

    Hello,
We are running 2008 R2 domain with one physical DC and other running in VM on Hyper-V host (2008 R2 Standard). The host has 4 NICs and is configured to use one physical NIC for itself (management) and the hyper-v guest is configured to use another dedicated/physical
NIC (through microsoft virtual switch) just for itself.
I noticed that after setting the hyper-v guest with a static IP address all works fine only until guest restart. When the guest boots up the IP address is still configured correctly in IPv4 properties, but there is no network connectivity at all and in fact
the guest shows running APIPA config in ipconfig /all output. That situation continues until I remove the virtual NIC from hyper-v guest, remove the virtual switch from dedicated NIC on host and then reconfigure it (using same settings as they were). very
    annoying.
For time being I switched the virtual DC (problematic hyper-v guest) to a DHCP IP and configured DHCP server (running on physical DC machine, not on hyper-v host) to store a reservation for the hyper-v guest so it always gets the same "static"
    IP configuration.
Is there some kind of a problem/bug with using static IP on (2008 R2) hyper-v guests? is there a hotfix for static IP config in hyper-v guest environment?
both 2008 R2 OSes (host and guest) are up to date with all updates (synced with Microsoft, not WSUS).

OK, I'm not at the office now, but took my time to test out the restart scenarios on problematic virtual guest remotely.
No dice, same as it was, everything works fine after guest has IP configured in DHCP mode (IP reservation of 192.168.1.5 for specific MAC address) and it doesn't work after restart in static IP mode (same address, works before restart of guest).
I also took "arp -a" outputs at each step from host server and that was always saying there is only a single host (192.168.1.5 = VDC = problematic virtual guest) assigned to that IP address and always with same MAC, so that pretty much rules out
ARP/MAC troubles and no issues with switches/routers getting spoofed. Problem is most likely with the virtual guest (WS2008R2) or within the host running same OS.
    Here are outputs:

On Monday I will install more test guests in Hyper-V host (WS2008R2), in variety of flavors like 7x64, 8.1x64, ws2012r2, and see if they show similar problems with static IP configuration when utilizing a dedicated NIC from host server.
Don't get me wrong, I can live with virtual DC running on DHCP IP reservation (which is based on MAC), because the virtual DC pretty much requires a physical PDC (hosting also DHCP in my network) to be present for safety reasons ... however I prefer a static
IP configuration on all servers, hence my question and surprise why it doesn't work.

  • Airport Express - yellow blinking after router restart

    Hi - I have a question.
I have a DSL modem incl. WLAN router. This router/modem a) established the internet connection, and b) provides a WLAN. Also I have an Airport Express using the WLAN of the router (so AE does not establish an own/separate WLAN). Everything works fine, until the router either restarts, or has to reconnect to the internet for whatever reason. Then the AE starts blinking yellow, and I have do disconnect the AE from power. After restarting the AE, it goes immediately to green and everything is fine again ... until the next time that the router gets disconnected from the internet.
I have already tried both DHCP and static in AE config menu, and the router also assigns always the same IP address to the AE.
    Any idea?
    Thanks for your help!!
    Chris

I just use it for streaming music from iTunes/iPhone to my amplifier.
For configuration I so far only use the available iPhone app ... and to be honest in this tool I cannot see a configuration "switch" for router or bridge. It is connected to the internet via the DSL router (e.g. firmware updates can be made), but it does not provide an own/separate WLAN. To obtain the IP address, I have used both DHCP & static mode (as I have advised the router to always assign the same IP address to the AE).
Not sure if that answers your question. If not, any hint where I can find the things you are asking for?

  • Lost connection with db, restarting Weblogic

    hi,
we have an server with oracle and whenever the connection
with the db is lost for any reason and then comes again in a while the weblogic needs to be restarted again.
i would love if someone could give me a tip of what excactlly weblogic is "loosing" from the connection or how i may run a script or anything so this to work automatically(mean to startup weblogic again).
thanks anyway for reading my problem.

    Hi,
Along with enabling "Test Reserved connections", also ensure refresh connections is enabled. Test Reserved Connections tests the connection only when a client makes a request while refresh connections ensures that all unreserved connections are also tested.

    startup pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
    This brings up the database.
    5. In sqlplus:
    create spfile from pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
    This creates 'C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\database\SPFILEXE.ORA'
    6. Stop db, move SPFILEXE.ORA to C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs
    7. Start db. Now it is working.
    Thoughts:
    1. I probably don't have to do 4. And I can combine 5 and 6 and generate SPFILEXE.ORA from init.ora in one step by specifying the destination.
    2. In C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts there is a initXETemp.ora which is very similar to init.ora. You may use it to recover as well.
    Thanks everyone!

  • E1550 lost connectivity to router

After walking through the set-up and adding devices, I am not longer able to get into Cisco Connect.  All my wireless and wired devices have access to the Internet, but when I launch Cisco Connect, I am getting the following error:
Error code: 82BD0304 Error description: An HNAP call to the device failed because the HTTP connection was broken. Model name: unknown Model number: E1550 Serial number: (redacted) Firmware version: unknown Operating system: Windows 7 SP 1 Software version: 1.4.11350.0 Connection type (WAN): unknown IP address (LAN): unknown IP address (WAN): unknown Computer IP address: unknown
    Help!

That seems like some random, generic, advice there.  I bought a 1550 a few weeks ago, installed it, and have had nothing but trouble getting to the unit, or using CISCO connect.
if I got to 192.168.1.1, the routers address, i get http timeouts constantly
I've attached an external USB hard drive to the unit - and moving files from one folder to another on that only, is running slower than an old floppy drive.  Same USB drive (USB2) connected to my PC was 100x faster.  And that's not "to/from computer - that's just on the local drive.
Cisco Connect gives me the error below EVERY time I try to use it.  The only way to rectify ANY of this (and I haven't tried this with regards to the hard drive) - to reboot the cisco completely.  That's a ridiculous proposition. That I must reboot the router constantly just so I can access it?
I have no problem reaching the internet with this thing, but cannot manage it to keep my kids off at certain times, etc.

  • Lost Connection after Update

    Hi,
on one of our servers, a mac mini I started remotely a software Update. It was 10.68 Server.
After that I could connect, but I saw thet all users were entitled for remote management.
So I deleted the users, but left me in. Later I was not able to connect anymore.
First it said ARD not active. So I learned my way to kickstart (I have SSH enabled), but everything failed.
Alo when I want to add the computer, the password and name is failing, but I´m able to connect with this name and password trough terminal.
I think the mini is on his login screen. I tried also to reboot, but no change.
Should a manual restart from some staff in the datacenter should do more then a reboot?
Maybe I have to drive all the way to the datacenter
    Any tipps
    Norbert

with "ARD_AllLocalUsers" = 0; only authorized users can connect, instead of all users. If the account your trying to connect with, is not on the list, and or doesn't have the right allowed access, This could explain why your not able to connect.
    Have you tried the command:
zdactivate -configure -access -on -restart -agent -privs -all
    Or Alternatively:
    sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -activate -deactivate
    sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.RemoteManagement "ARD_AllLocalUsers" -integer 1
    sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.RemoteManagement "ARD_AllLocalUsersPrivs" -integer 1073742079
    sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/k ickstart -activate -activate
