Write access error

Hi I am having difficulty saving files from cs6 back into lightroom 5. message is
"Could not save as “untitled-289.psd” because write access was not granted."
Please help

I was having this same problem. First of all, make sure you have copies/backups of your music just in case. How I was able to get my ipod to synch was to move my entire music folder into my documents. Drag the entire folder, you do not have to do this individually.. Next, go into Itunes, under preferences, go to the advanced tab. Now just change the location of your music folder there, then apply. Mine looks something like this: john/my documents/music/music (I;m not at my computer now) Then close and restart.
The next time you open ITunes, you may have to "find" some of your songs, but once you do, your ipod should synch

  • PS CS5 Write Acess Error saving to a windows 2008 server share

    Hi Everyone,
    Our macs are running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 and we save/open files on a Windows 2008 Server via SMB,
    this particular problem, seems to be happening only with Photoshop:
    Sometime, when we try to save an image, photoshop returns a write access error
    at that time, if you go to the finder and take a look at the folder, the file had simply vanished.
    If you close the image, all lost.
    Everything is fine with Indesign and illustrator.
    Any help would be much appreciated!!
    Thank you all very much in advance.
    William

    Thanks for the reply Chris,
    I am trying to look for a solution on the Mac OS side, this problem happens from time to time.
    People keep trying to use Active Directory and log macs on it, it's always a problem.
    And to make things worse, apple changes the way Mac OS handles network tasks,
    they did it with 10.5 and 10.6. Well, we have to deal with that, right?
    Thanks again
    All the best
    William

  • "You don't have write access for your iTunes Media folder..."

    My daughter is trying to import CD's into her library. Some work fine but most won't load and she gets a message stating "You don't have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. To change permissions, select your iTunes Media folder in the Finder, and choose File>Get Info."
    Following those directions the iTunes Info window appears and at the bottom her user name appears with the privilege as Read and Write. Clicking on the little gear icon below we select Apply to Enclosed Items. A message pops up stating "Are you sure you want to apply the selected owner, group and permissions to all the enclosed items?" Clicking ok a status bar pops up showing "Applying permissions to iTunes".
    No changes occur in the issue we're having. This only occurs on her user.

    If you have problems importing CDs with iTunes because of write access errors, you can do the following to reset the permissions to the Music folder for your user/s where the iTunes subfolders are typically located:
    Open Finder
    Macintosh HD
    Users
    Open the folder for your User
    Music
    Right click > Get Info
    Bottom right hand side, unlock the padlock, entering your user's password
    Under Sharing & Permissions, ensure all relevant users have Read & Write, including Staff
    Then, click on the main user (you), then go to lower left hand side, click on the settings cog, and press Apply to enclosed items.

  • How do I resolve this error message? The iPhoto library is on a locked volume.  Reopen iPhoto when you have read/write access, or reopen iPhoto with the Option key held down to choose another library.

    Hi j,
    I don't know if this will work, but I'd try logging in to an admin account, going to your main library (not user library), opening it, opening Application Support, selecting iPhoto, hold down the command key and press i, click on the lock in the lower left, entering the password and making sure you have Read & Write privileges for System and Admin.

  • Why do I get an error message 'write access not granted' when I try to copy paste jpegs from my folder on desktop to an external hard drive/(Transcend)pendrive

    This is a new problem. I transferred some images from my Nikon camera via image capture but converted my raw files to jpegs in the Nikon View nx 2 software and saved them in a new folder on my desktop. I use a 2010 MBP that has OS10.9.5 fully updated. When i tried copying and pasting the jpegs to an external pen drive I got an error message saying the jpg (the number) could not be saved as write access is not granted. I thought the pen drive may be full. So I attached an external hard drive.  got the same message. I then opened the same jpeg in photoshop cc and tried saving it as png on the hard drive, got the same message. Was unable to handover the photographs to my client. Was hugely embarrassed. Pl let me know if there is a way out of this and if its a Mac OSX issue? Thanks.

    right click on the jpeg (the other mouse button then you use to click with) or on trackpad, hold down control and click, in the menu that pops up, click on "get info" next, if the box labeled "locked" is checked, uncheck it. Down at the bottom, there should be a box with your user name, "staff" and "everyone". to the right of this are options to change these you may need to click the small padlock icon and enter in your password. then change all of the permissions to read and write.

    Go to My Music folder.
    Select the iTunes folder, right click > Properties.

  • DRIVER ODBC - ACCESS ERROR "WRITE CONFLICT" on numeric format

    Hello
    We have an Oracle (Oracle 10g) table with a NUMBER(15,2) column
    We try to update it with Access 97 (we use the oracle odbc driver 10.2.0.1) and for some records it works, and for other we have the "write conflict" error.
    See the example below :
    SQL> desc test_number
    Name Null? Type
    CLE_X NOT NULL VARCHAR2(5)
    NUM_01 NUMBER(15,2)
    TXT_COMMENT VARCHAR2(30)
    SQL>
    insert into test_number values ('VAL1', 123.45, 'Ligne OK');
    insert into test_number values ('VAL2', 3456.78, 'Ligne OK');
    insert into test_number values ('VAL3', 1345.37, 'Ligne NOT OK');
    insert into test_number values ('VAL4', 1345.38, 'Ligne OK');
    commit;
    => The update with Access does not work with the 3rd record (1345.37) but there is no issue with the other records.
    Could you please help ? Is it due to the driver ?
    Remark : the problem does not appear with the Microsoft odbc driver.
    Thanks

    I don't know the internals of ODBC, but I'm having this problem only with the Microsoft driver. I neither had it with PostgreSQL, SQL Anywhere or FreeTDS.
    The unixODBC documentation is not very well maintained or consistent. Once it's written that data sources are read from ODBCINI + /.odbc.ini, at another part it says ODBCINI itself must by a full path to a file. http://www.unixodbc.org/internals.html doesn't
    give much more details. And actually, having a full path in ODBCINI does work (as soon as this file is writable), whereas specifying only the directory does not.
    It seems drivers are doing part of the job on its own and therefor they behave differently?

  • Project Save Error - write access

    I am using PPro CS3 on WinXP SP2 at a business. I have full admin rights on my computer as well as all network drives. When i open a project and select "Save" I get the error message: "Could not open the project file with write access. The file may be locked or you may not have permission to write to this location. Select 'Save As' from the file menu to save the project to a new location"
    I can select "Save as" and rename with no problems - other than having 12 versions of the same file. My company's service desk have checked that i have full write access to all drives. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Brandon

    Check the attributes on the network file folder aren't set to read-only.
    Right click on the file folder, select 'Properties', make sure "Read-only" is unchecked, and click OK.
    Seems to have done the trick for me.

    In a finder window highlight and right click the folder you are trying to save to and select Get Info. In the window that opens look at the bottom to see if you have Read/Write permissions. If you don't click the Plus sign and add your Admin Username to the list and give it full Read/Write permissions.
    Open Disk Utility and on the First Aid tab select Repair Permissions and let it run.

  • Error of "Could not save (file name) because write access was not granted

    Error of "Could not save (file name) because write access was not granted. The users are pulling the files from a Mountain Lion server. They all have read\write access. If they try to save the file in the same directory they get that error but they can save it anywhere else on the sharepoint. If they save it in another directory then reopen it make a change and do a save as they can save it back to the original directory. Has anyone else come across this same issues

    It is an enterprise solution. I just do not see why you cant save directly to the server. It seems to get weird errors. Some Adobe stuff saves fine on the server and some of it doesnt. It seems Adobe related. The permissions on the server are set correctly so it isnt a permission error

  • After implementing iTunes Match I can't make updates or watch my movies bc of error message "you do not have write access".

    After purchasing and implementing iTunes match I can't watch a bunch of my movies and I can't update my apps because of an error message stating that I do not have "write access" or another error message stating that I don't have correct permissions.  I have checked that I have both read and write permissions on literally every single folder on  my computer. I quadruple-checked actually.
    From looking through forums it seems a lot of people are having this problem with the only suggestion being to fix permissions.  Anyone have any other suggestions?  I just want to be able to watch the movies I paid for!!

    Could you give us a little more information?  Where are your movies stored?  On  your iMac?  How are you trying to watch them, through iTunes?  Have you tried to watch them with Match turned off?
    Just to be clear, iTunes Match does not accept movies for uploading, only music files.  It will give you access to music videos you've purchased through iTunes though.

  • Having trouble with error message in itunes every since I had a new hard drive installed. Write access are not enough or permissions aren't allowed.  I have changed all of these in the corresponding folders, restarted and nothing works.  I need help bad??

    Got a new hard drive installed and since then, I cannot get purchased song into my itunes.  It is telling me that my write access or permission are wrong.  I have changed all and nothing works.  HELP!!!!!!

    Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
    This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

    Apparently cookies was turned off in Safari. I rarely use it so I have no idea how that happened. Anyway, turning them on seems to have cured the problem.

  • File saving error : write access not granted

    working on some old images annd when I try to save get a message---write access was not granted---- what is that ?

    Either the files or folder security settings are limited to read only.  If you're on a windows system, right click on the file and folder to which you're trying to save and see if the read only check box is selected or you don't have write access under the security tab.
