  • FF logs in different location ( Not FF tables)

    Hi
    Can we have FF logs in different location other than the backend tables? My client wants to have the sensitive FI and HR data logs maybe in a share restricted network drive / folder. Is this worth it?
    If anyone has done this, please share your experience and best recommended approach

    Hi Robert,
    Per my knowledge No.
    not possible, SPM in frontend (JAVA stack) is used only for reporting purpose, core functionality is still in the backend (R/3)
    you need to
    - control access to all this data like frontend Log Report, emails, backend tables..... so on
    - my suggestion will be not to use FF for HR purpose
    - do custom development

    I want to change the logs files directory from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5/logs
    to:
    D:\fmsLogs
    Please halp me to understand...
    in adobe in:
    Home / Flash Media Server  3.5 Configuration and Administration Guide / XML configuration files reference
    it says:
    in Logger.xml in Directory
    Specifies the directory where the log files are located.
    By default, the log files are located in the logs directory in the server installation directory.
    Example:
    <Directory>${LOGGER.LOGDIR}</Directory>
    what this meens: ${LOGGER.LOGDIR} ?
    in order to change the logs files directory from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5/logs
    to:
    D:\fmsLogs
    do i need to write this:
    <Directory>D:\fmsLogs</Directory>
    or what do i neet to write?
    it is totaly not understandable from this example...
    big thanks for any halp
    cheinan

    You can change LOGGER.LOGDIR in fms.ini to your preferred location i.e. D:\fmsLogs and restart FMS.
    Now if you want to change for individual logs - you can change in Logger.xml - by default logger.xml will use value from fms.ini

    Thanks in advance.

  • Write SharePoint Custom Error logs into physical location

    Hi
       I need to programmatically write a custom error logs using SPDiagnosticsService class into my custom physcial location.
       But when i use SPDiagnosticsService it will write error logs into 15hive\logs folder instead i want to write into my physical location(say C:\Logs\Error.log)
       How to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Siva

    Hi,
    SPDiagnosticsService has a property 'loglocation' and it only points to one location. I reckon, you can not use one location for SharePoint log, another one for custom log - if you use SPDiagnosticsService. What I do for my SharePoint projects is, create
    a custom logger, which wrap the SPDiagnosticsService inside. Then My Logger class write the log into some custom location (configurable through web.config or by other means) as well as pass it to SPDiagnosticsService. Having a custom log file for custom solution
    helps to find problem very quickly and easily - which would be difficult if you would need to go through large log files. So I can suggest, write a custom logger, wrap SPDiagnosticsService  inside the cutom logger. Then on every Log Event, write in your
    cusotm file and if you want you can pass the event to SPDiagnosticsService  also.

  • [SOLVED] Installing WINE apps in a different location by default

    Unless I'm misreading the wiki, it says:
    To create a default prefix without running a Windows program or other GUI tool you can use:
    $ env WINEPREFIX=~/.customprefix wineboot -u
    I did that, then deleted my ~/.wine folder.  Then I ran:
    $ wine control
    and it created ~/.wine all over again.
    What I'm trying to do is to install WINE apps to a different location every time by default.  I do not want to use ~/.wine at all.

    Your WINEPREFIX only takes effect for the first command.
    Instead, use e.g.:
    export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.whatever
    wineboot -u
    wine control
    That worked.  I added it to my ~/.bashrc

  • Moving the online redo log files to different location

    We just installed few more drives into our sandbox system and I want to move the online redo log files for better performance.  We've got the SAPARCH directory moved to a different location.
    Does anyone know how/where I can change the parameters so redo log files are pointed at different drives?  It's not in the <b>init<SID>.ora</b> file...

  • Firefox should allow users to maintain their zoom setting when switching to a different page, instead of going back to default every time.

    Page text appears very small on laptop while utilizing full resolution on a dell XPS laptop. Zoomed-in a notch or two it looks good. Readable without squinting. But browse to a different page, and its tiny all over again. Firefox, being the best browser on the web, should think about allowing users to maintain their zoom value when going to a different page, instead of going back to default. Just an idea... I know there's alot of laptops out there and if it's hard for me to read with good eyes, I'm sure it's hard for others.

    The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.
    Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />

  • Mounting Documents, Music, Video and Picture folder to different location.

    I would like to mount the documents, video, picture and music folders to a different location than \users\<username\. Anyone know how I can go about doing this? My goal is to have those folders default to folders on a shared partition on the drive. I am dual booting OS X and Vista and would like to share the folders I listed above so both operating systems can read and write to them. I have my drives setup as follows:
    Partition 1 OS X
    Partition 2 Vista OS
    Partition 3 Shared
    I already have Vista defaulting to the correct folders on the shared drives but not sure how to get it done with OS X.
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Moving the default folders may cause problems with installers and such that expect them to be where they normally are, and there may be various permissions issues. With that said, you should be able to create an alias or symbolic link to the desired folders and place them in your shared partition.

  • Saving screenshots to a different location?

    Somewhere, there is a preference to set the default location to save screenshots... I can't find it now! I have one of my machines set to save screenshots to a folder on my desktop, so I know this is possible. But I can't seem to find that preference on a second machine. I thought it was a preference setting in Cocktail, but it isn't there.
    Can anyone tell me where to set the default location for saving screenshots? I need to set it to a folder instead of Mac OS's default of the Desktop.
    Thanks!

    I would love to know how to set a different location. How do you do this in Leopard and Snow Leopard?

  • Songs saved in two different locations, why?

    I was looking around my hd today and found that I have two copies of many of my mp3 files, some of which i deleted months ago. The first set of songs are in the "Music" folder and are only sorted by file name. The second set is located in music>itunes>itunes music and is sorted by artist then album, the same as in iTunes.
    I have two questions. Firstly, is it safe to delete the copies in the Music folder and just use the ones in the iTunes folder? And second is there any way I can stop this from happening in the future?
    Thanks

    May I ask a related question, since what I'm trying to do is to avoid having songs in two different locations? (If not, just tell me the rules; I'm relatively new to Discussions, as well as being a new Mac OS X user!)
    I've set up separate user accounts for my children on our iMac. They want to put music on the computer, but their interests overlap somewhat. In order to avoid having the same songs copied into the iTunes Music folder of more than one user, and to allow all users to access all music files, I followed a suggestion from David Pogue's book on OS X, namely to put all the music in an iTunes Music folder in the ~/Users/Shared folder, and then make that the default folder for each user by changing the iTunes preferences.
    The problem with this was that then my son was unable to copy (import?) the music from a CD by dragging it to his iTunes Library icon--error message said he didn't have access to the folder--whereas he had been able to do so when ~/Users/HisUsername/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music was his default folder. I tried to solve this problem by changing the permissions on ~/Users/Shared/iTunes Music to be read & write, but then everyone but me started having problems running iTunes (it would give an error message saying "iTunes is on a locked disk, or you don't have access . . .").
    Lots of people seem to have the same problem (i.e., error message in running iTunes), but leaving that aside my basic question is what's the most efficient way to store and access music files so that (a) everyone can access it, (b) the number of duplicates is minimized, and (c) individual users can add music to the computer? Any suggestions will be very welcome!

  • Setting backup on two different locations

    Hello, people. I am a newbie DBA and at my work place , Using RMAN for my backup strategy I want to set up a backup to two different location ( e.g A:\backup and B:\backup), I have configure two channels, and also set configure device type disk parallelism 2, but I seem not to be getting the result i need.
    What does configure device type disk parallelism actually do?
    For me to proceed, what do i need to do? thank you.

    RMAN configuration parameters are:
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 3 DAYS;
    CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION ON;
    CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '%F'; # default
    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 1;
    CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 2;
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT 'D:\oracle\backup\data_%U', '\\atapp\data\olu\backup\data_%U';
    CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default
    CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO 'D:\ORACLE\ORACLE9I\DATABASE\SNCFTESTER.ORA'; # default
    this is my configuration and it works fine, A copy of the backup are on both servers, the same size the and there is only copy of the archive log and controlfile on one of the servers which is fine
