Write to pdf generating text as images

I am using Windows 8  Billquick 2014 (project management software) and Adobe  acrobat pro XI. When I try to print a document of text + logo, some of the text does not print to text in the pdf - ie if I open the pdf the text is blurry, and not able to be edited as text.
I have had this issue previously on a pc, but most other computers are fine.

  • Possible to scan a document into Acrobat XPro,then replace part of that PDF with text or image file?

    Hi everyone,
Is it possible first to  scan a paper document into Acrobat X Pro, and then to replace a "pane" or box within that PDF with a text or image file?
Would it require  SDK and Javascript?
    Thanks,
    Rick Weinhaus

    CtDave and others:
Here's the problem in more detail.
I am a physician and I already have the ability to incorporate paper-based
documents into an electronic health record (EHR) by scanning them and
saving them as PDFs.  The documents are paper patient encounter forms with
a different box or 'pane' for each category of data.   Each box has a fixed
    location on the paper form.
There are three situations, however, where I want to have the option to
overwrite certain boxes of the PDF with data generated by methods other
    than scanning.
    1) Insert text macros with variable fields using the electronic health
    record's software.
    2) Insert a drawing available as a pre-existing JPG or generated by using a
    tablet.
    3) Insert text generated using Dragon Naturally Speaking.
For efficient office workflow, in all three cases the text or image to be
inserted into the box or 'pane' in the PDF needs to be generated while I am
still seeing the patient -- that is -- before the paper form has been
scanned and converted to a PDF.
The sticky note tool is one option, but I would want to be able to modify
the default size of the sticky note so that it corresponded exactly to the
size of the box it was 'overwriting.'  I can't figure out how to do this?
Could it be done using scripting?
Furthermore, I would want the sticky notes to automatically display when
the PDF was opened, so that a hover would close rather than open them.  This
sticky note method would have the advantage of allowing the user to toggle
back and forth between inserted data and any original handwritten text.
    Any thoughts?

  • PDF Generator ES: Monochrome image DPI

Has anybody had any issues with DPI settings being overridden in output from PDF Generator ES?
We're passing 200dpi TIFF files in, and getting out PDF files with a DPI of 72 (tested by exporting to TIFF from the PDF) but containing the same number of pixels. The result is the page size is about 2.78 times as large as the original TIFF image.
Right-click conversion to PDF using Acrobat on the server produces a file with the correct DPI (and therefore page size).
I did look through the exported PDFG config files, and noticed this:
    > /MonoImageResolution 72
But this seems to be a base operand for other settings (e.g. thresholds for mono image conversions) and changing to 200 seems to have no effect. Have reverted back to defaults now.
Converting the TIFF into a PS file then passing that to PDFG gives the correct DPI/page size. Also the same TIFF files come out correctly on PDFG 7.2.
Putting together a case for Adobe, but asking here in case anyone else has come across this.
Thanks in advance for all input on the matter!

I've raised the issue with Adobe and been told that a fix is on the way. If you encounter this same problem and you have a support and maintenance agreement, contact Enterprise Support and they will be able to assist.

  • Will Adobe ExportPDF convert a pdf with text and images to docx ?

I have tried to convert an adobe pdf, which includes text and images, to a docx file.  The Adobe ExportPDF has not been able to do it - comes back with many errors.

Mostly it can do it, though you can't expect a precise match on the layout. What errors do you get?

  • I ... Acrobat.... (sometimes, when I need to print PDF with text and image)

First of all, I want to let Adobe know that you are a immens castle that is almost impossible to communicate with!
I just want a simple question to be answered: I want to print a document which beholds text AND an image.
If I print it, the image is NOT on the print (MacBook and iMac Yosemite)
If I print it form my iPhone (6), the image is on the print.
    How can I fix it?

You report your problem as using Acrobat on a Mac. You've posted in the Reader forum for iOS.
I've moved your question to the Creating, Editing and Exporting PDF forum which seems more appropriate.
You'll need to provide more information for us to be able to help you.

  • Photoshop to pdf creates text and images that are not sharp. Why?

I know that Photoshop is not the premier pdf creation software. I do have InDesign as well, but I'm much more familiar and comfortable with Photoshop (I have the CC versions of both) so I prefer to use it as my design and layout tool.
However, when I save as a pdf the resultant pdf file is blurry for images and text, not horribly so, but not sharp and clear as I would like. My pdf files are for the web and emailing so I need to keep the file size in check, but even when I up the PS resolution to 300psi it still is not as clear as I would like. Still blurry.
What do you Photoshop experts out there do to produce the sharpest pdf possible? Is it even possible using Photoshop only or do you have to use InDesign or Acrobat Pro to get the clarity and shapness?

This is kind of like saying "I know that a screwdriver is the correct tool for inserting screws, but I'm much more comfortable using a hammer, so I prefer to just hammer the screws in."
It works, sort of. But the results will never be as good. And you wouldn't want to use the screwdriver with nails, either. There are two different tool (programs) for a reason, and I think once you learn InDesign, you will find it to be a much better layout tool than Photoshop.

  • Printing a PDF document to virtual PDF printer converts text to image in output PDF-file

When I "print" any regular PDF document to a PDF virtual printer, it always converts a source regular (textual) PDF document into an image only document. It applies even to pure plain text documents (say, HTML source code etc.)
(I often need to create a PDF document from the existing PDF. Yes, I know, it might seems quite pointless, but actually it makes sense.)
    Thus I have 2 questions:
    1) Is such sonvertion normal or I do anything wrong myself?
    2) It is by design, is there any woraround to prevent conveting text to image?
    Many thanks in advance!

Have you checked to see if the "Print As Image" option is inadvertently checked? In the Print dialog, click the Advanced button then look for the checkbox.

  • If pdf generated with Bullzip, opens with problems in text (missing, weird characters, etc...)

pdf opening in new tab shows problems with text. If pdf was generated with Adobe acrobat, works fine. If pdf generated with Bullzip, opens in new tab, but with problems.

hello lwhitman, the pdf preview in firefox is still under very active development. if you find any issues please report them at https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues & provide a sample pdf-file which shows the problem.

  • Sync Text alignment in HTMLEditor and a PDF generated using FOP

    Hi,
How to sync text alignment in HTMLEditor and a PDF generated using FOP ?
I tried setting the dimensions of HTMLEditor and PDF in pixels by calculating the size in Pixels for A4 paper size with a particular dpi value.
Have done the font settings as well. The problem is I see uneven line cuts in the PDF as compared to HTMLEditor.
    Thanks.

It's not a realistic expectation. You are expecting the PDF produced by whoever provided your FOP implementation to observe exactly the same typographical rules as HTMLEditor. Basically it won't, and there is no way to enforce it. Line breaking/hyphenation/word spacing algorithms can be of great complexity. You are expecting two systems that aren't specified to agree, to agree.

  • How to invoke alt-text for images in a PDF file by Automation

    Hi,
    Can any one help me?
How to invoke Alt-text for Images in a PDF file using script?
    Thanks for looking into this.
    Regards,
    Sudhakar

What do you mean "invoke" alt-text?  If Alt-text is there, then it will be presented to a screen reader.

Sounds like you have a stroke on it. Select the frame and set the stroke to none.

I am trying to convert an Illustrator cs6 file to a PDF and every time I do it, I lose all text and images. Can someone provide some assistance? Thank you!

It's always a good idea to supply platform and AI version info.
How are you "converting" the file? Are you choosing "Save As" and selecting PDF from the file format options? This will bring up additional save options. I would suggest "Illustrator Default" setting unless you have specific needs.

  • Optimizing PDF hiding some text in image

    Hi all,
When I optimize the PDF with check on  the "Transparency" option, it hides all the math sign from the text of images.
    For example '+2.5' becomes " 2.5".
Please help to let me know why it is happening and and how to avoid this.

    YES! A SOLUTION!
Thanks to an Adobe user who goes by "Test Screen Name" for this solution!
DO NOT print to PDF from InDesign to create a PDF. Instead, use the Export function.
I followed that advice, and it solved the problem. Hope this helps you, JuleeBruce!

  • How do I convert images I enter into a PDF into text?

Would you also happen to know how I convert images I enter into a PDF into text? (I can't use OCR if text already exists on that page of the document)

    Hey SinNombre,
Could you please specify in detail what exactly do you wish for.
Let me know what version of Acrobat are you using.
Please tell me what exactly do you mean by saying convert 'images to text'. What happens when you try running OCR?
    Hope to hear from you.
