Write Up Depreciation Concept needed to be Clear !

Hi,
All Experts ,
Can anyone clear me the Write Up Depreciation Concept with example and scenario ?
I am confused between normal depreciation & Write Up depreciation.
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance !
Regards,
Pankaj.

Hi,
Paul.
As you said that Write up depreciation is use to make correction in posted depreciation for earlier
periods, then Write Up depreciation is use to make an increase or decrease in depreciation ?
I knew that write ups can not be posted for current period allowed to post for earlier period.
( Mite be wrong ! correct me. )
Please throw a focus on it.
Thnaks Paul.
Regards,
Pankaj.
P.S :- Does posting write up generate FI Documents ?

  • Write Up Depreciation Posting ?

    Hi
    Dear All Experts,
    1 ) I am facing one problem regarding with write up depreciation. I am posting write up depreciation
    through ABZU but amount is not hitting the concerned GL A/C. Can anyone please explain the concept
    of Write up depreciation ?
    In my concerning GL A/C the earlier posting are showing AF Document ( Depreciation Posting )
    and when I am calculating the through ABZU it is generating AA Document ( Asset Posting ) which
    is not even getting posted too . But at bottom line message displays that " The depreciation is
    posted with AA  Document , Document No 9 " Then where it is hitting ? How this is so ?
    2 ) Is there any criteria like that write up depreciation is only posted in current fiscal year if it is not
    posted for earlier years ( Last Fiscal Year )  ? Please explain.
    3 ) Write up depreciation is Ordinary Derciation , Special Depreciation , Or Unplanned Depreciation ?
    Please explain above.
    Your help is highly appreciated.

  • Concept of hide and clear

    Problem understanding hide and clear concept...
    for example, in the code below, it works fine with the write statement and have no problem with the output value when use the back button.
    however, when i use it to call a transaction (eg. mm03) and pass the value over, it seems to be a value behind (eg. when i click on row1, it gives a previously stored value. Press back button and when i click on row2, it gives me value of 1. Press back button and when i click on row5, it gives me value of 2. so the clear doesn't seem to "clear")
    what could be the problem? hope to understand this concept of hide and clear better (eg. when to clear?)...
    Cheers,
    Charles

    hi,
    chk this.
    HIDE
    Basic form
    HIDE f.
    In an ABAP Objects context, a more severe syntax check is performed that in other ABAP areas.
    See Constants not allowed in HIDE area.
    Effect
    Retains the contents of f related to the current output line.
    When the user selects the line from the list f is automatically filled with the retained value.
    The selection can occur in:
    AT LINE-SELECTION
    AT PFx
    AT USER-COMMAND
    READ LINE
    The contents of the field do not have to have been displayed using WRITE in order for you to retain them.
    The HIDE statement does not support deep structures (structures that contain internal tables).
    Useful system fields for interactive reporting are listed in the System Fields for Lists documentation.
    Note
    Lines or components of lines of an internal table that you address using a field symbol (see ASSIGNING addition to the READ and LOOP statements), cannot be retained using HIDE. You can store them using a global variable instead.
    Note
    Runtime errors:
    HIDE_FIELD_TOO_LARGE: The field is too long for HIDE.
    HIDE_ON_EMPTY_PAGE: HIDE not possible on an empty page.
    HIDE_NO_LOCAL: HIDE not possible for a local field.
    HIDE_ILLEGAL_ITAB_SYMBOL: HIDE not possible for a table line or component of a table line.
    and also a sample program.

    end of itab.
    itab-field = 'A'. append itab.

    itab-field = 'C'. append itab.
    itab-field = 'D'. append itab.
    itab-field = 'E'. append itab.
    loop at itab.
    format hotspot on.
    write:/ itab-field.
    hide itab-field.
    format hotspot off.
    endloop.
    at line-selection.
    write:/ 'You clicked', itab-field.
    It kind of "remembers" what is written, so that when you click on it, it knows what the value is.

  • Write Up Depreciation Issue.

    Dear All Experts ,
    I am having issue regarding Write Up depreciation. I am calculating Write Up through ABZU with
    Transaction Type key 711. It is being calculated too but the concerning amount is not hitting to the GL
    account. And transaction is generating document type AA ( Asset Posting ) instead of AF
    My account created for Write up depraciation is assign in Unpalanned depreciation account
    assignment section => Expense account for unplanned depreciation field.
    Please let me know whether I am correct or not ?
    Please keep discussion on for further assistance.
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Pankaj.

    Hi,
    Paul.
    I checked the same in T.Code AO78 that document type assign is AA. But the earlier postings are
    showing in GL A/C as AF document. How it is so ? For year 2007 depreciation the user has posted
    document in 2008 which successfully got poted. But for 2008 when we try to post in this current year it
    is not hitting concerning GL.
    I have already told you my account assignment position in AO90 ( In earlier principal thread ).
    Write up depreciation is Ordinary depreciation , Special Dpreciation , or Unpalanned depreciation ?
    Please elaborate the same , so I will get some insights. And please let me know for account
    assignment whether it is right or wrong ? ( If wrong rectify me )
    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    For 4.7 version if you are using tables, there are two options for protection against line break:
    - You can protect a line type against page break.
    - You can protect several table lines against page break for output in the main area.
    Protection against page break for line types
    - Double-click on your table node and choose the Table tab page.
    - Switch to the detail view by choosing the Details pushbutton.
    - Set the Protection against page break checkbox in the table for the relevant line type.  Table lines that use this line type are output on one page.
    Protection against page break for several table lines
    - Expand the main area of your table node in the navigation tree.
    - Insert a file node for the table lines to be protected in the main area.
    - If you have already created table lines in the main area, you can put the lines that you want to protect again page break under the file using Drag&Drop. Otherwise, create the table lines as subnodes of the file.
    - Choose the Output Options tab page of the file node and set the Page Protection option.   All table lines that are in the file with the Page Protection option set are output on one page.
    In 4.6, Alternatively in a paragraph format use the Page protection attribute to determine whether or not to display a paragraph completely on one page. Mark it if you want to avoid that a paragraph is split up by a page break. If on the current page (only in the main window) there is not enough space left for the paragraph, the entire paragraph appears on the next page.

  • Need of downpayment clearing (F-54)

    Dear Experts
    Why do we need to the clearing of downpayment through (F-54)?
    In our scenario -
    1. We create the 100% downpayment request F-47 (spl GL - A)
    2. F110 makes the payment ( vendor spl GL A debit and bank a/c credit)
    3. Goods receipt is done
    4. Then Downpayment clearing is done (f-54) - transferred to normal GL
    5. Invoice verfication (MIRO)
    6. F-44 - clearing of normal GL lines of point 4 & 5
    So if we avoid the step 4 ie. downpayment clearing (F-54), and directly do the clearing of transaction through F-44 of points 2 ( spl GL debit) with point 5 ( normal gl credit), will it make any differences?
    I've checked the accounting & found that the system generates a document with Vendor Spl GL Credit & Vendor Normal GL Debit thus clearing the vendor lines of point 2 & 5 respectively.
    Is it ok to go ahead like this? Besdies accouning, can I be affected on reporting issues?
    Kindly advise.
    Regards
    Kapil

    There should be one change in your defined scenario step 4 would be coming after step 5 -Invoice receipt and not after step 3-goods receipt. Down payment clearing in F-54 clears down payment against the invoice of vendor. It is the standard transaction for manual clearing of down payments with features to enter directly the invoice number and select the open down payments for a particular vendor.
    There are not much differences with F-44 except some minor ones lik that standard document type KA is used in F-54 insead of general clearing document AB in F-44.
    So although F-44 would also achieve the same purpose as F-54 I dont see much value in using it instead of F-54 which is the standard transaction for clearing downpayments against a particular invoice of particular vendor. It should not have impact on any standard reports.
    Also it is possible to clear downpayments with payment program against the invoice, check the below documentation for details.

  • I'm using mac OSX 10.9.5 to write to NAS, I need to decrease the SMB max MTU size used by the OSX

    I'm using mac OSX 10.9.5 to write to NAS, I need to decrease the SMB max MTU size used by the OSX

    By default, OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Network MTU is set to 1500. If you perform the following at your SMB server, with an MTU of 1500, you will likely receive Message too long, and the SMB share takes a very long while to mount. This might be the contributing factor that has you believe it is an SMB MTU configuration issue.
    ping -c 1 -D -s 1500 smbserver
    If you dial the Network MTU down in a custom setting, the ping is immediate, and the SMB share mounts briskly. I tried values in small decrements until the message too long ceased.
    ping -c 1 -D -s 1472 smbserver
    I have done some searching and I do not see how, in Apple's current SMB implementation, that one can configure /etc/nsmb.conf to reduce SMB MTU size. See man nsmb.conf.

  • Fault Message  concept needed

    Hi
      I'm doing one file to Proxy scenario.. if  the source file contain some mandatory fields then only my file should  be processed.. otherwise i need to raise an exception.. for this.. how fault messages concepts can we apply.. because i does't know any thing abt falut messages.. how can we use..  and where can we define  and  where can we add these ..
    plz give me the  clear idea abt this..with basic steps
    thanks

    Fault messages generally used for used for synchronous interfaces assume when a proxy is generated from a message interface an exception class is generated for a fault message type. You use this exception class to handle application errors at runtime.
    The fault message of the application for an asynchronous ABAP server proxy is persisted for monitoring. In the case asynchronous of Java server proxies, the fault message is part of a negative application acknowledgement (see Acknowledgments).
    Application-specific means that the application on the inbound side triggers the error itself because, for example, the request message did not contain sufficient information.

  • Write-up depreciation of investment measure

    Hi,
    I have asset with investment measure. Is it possible to write-up the depreciation for last closed fiscal year ? How can i customize my system?
    The goal is to reduce the depreciation.
    Thank for your help.

    Hi,
    It's possible to depreciate the investment measure when you create the specific depreciate area like 51, 52 .... Then, the investment measure is depreciate as the mean asset.
    My question is how can i reversal the investment measure depreciate. For the mean asset it's possible to use T code ABZU.
    How can i customize the system for investment measure?
    Thank for your help.

  • What extension do I need for my clear display?

    Hi Guys,
    I am a little confused. I have a "clear acrylic" display with some usb ports on the back, which came with my G5. I am still getting heavy use from the computer but need to move the base unit further away from me behind some acoustic screens since the computer noise is entering my audio recordings.
    I therefore need an extension for the monitor. What do I need - a female to female DVI cable?
    I have seen DVI to ADC boxes but don't really understand what I would need this for.
    The length would be about 3-5 mtrs.
    Would love some help.
    Thanks

    If the display uses ADC (Apple Display Connector rounded ends, squeeze clips)

  • I need to reset, clear or deselect a group of radio buttons

    I haven't been able to find the answer to this: I have a quiz-like animation that uses a group of radio buttons, I need the group to reset, clear or deselect the previous selection after submitting the answer on each question, is that possible?
    Here is the code:
    stop();
    var messageBox:TextField = new TextField();
    messageBox.text = "";
    addChild(messageBox);
    messageBox.textColor = 0xFF0000;
    messageBox.width = 200;
    messageBox.height =100;
    messageBox.x = 450;
    messageBox.y = 340;
    var userAnswer:int;
    var rbg:Object = rbA.group;
    var finalScore:int;
    btnCheck.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtn);
    function nextBtn(evt:MouseEvent):void {
    userAnswer = int(rbg.selectedData);
                if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "PLEASE SELECT AN OPTION";
    }else{
    finalScore = finalScore + userAnswer;
    messageBox.text = "";
    nextFrame();
    btnFinish.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, finishBtn);
    function finishBtn (evt:MouseEvent):void {
    userAnswer = int(rbg.selectedData);
    if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "PLEASE SELECT AN OPTION";
    }else{
    finalScore = finalScore + userAnswer;
    if (finalScore > 13){ gotoAndStop(8);
    }else if (finalScore > 9){ gotoAndStop(7);
    }else if (finalScore > 4){ gotoAndStop(6);
    }else {}
    startOver.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, reStart);
    function reStart(evt:MouseEvent):void {
    gotoAndStop(1);
    finalScore = 0;

    I'm all ears on this one because I checked into this the first time I saw this posting back whenever and couldn't find the solution.  And now I built something that tries to make it happen, and it doesn't.  In the AS3 help docs it doesn't say gets or sets, whereas in the AS2 docs it goes on about doing such things with that property... so maybe they changed the compnent for AS3?
    Here's what I concocted building off a help docs example.  rb3 and rb4 are basically there just to reset rb1 and rb2:
    import fl.controls.RadioButton;
    import fl.controls.RadioButtonGroup;
    var rbg1:RadioButtonGroup = new RadioButtonGroup("group1");
    var rbg2:RadioButtonGroup = new RadioButtonGroup("group2");
    var rb1:RadioButton = new RadioButton();
    var rb2:RadioButton = new RadioButton();
    var rb3:RadioButton = new RadioButton();
    var rb4:RadioButton = new RadioButton();
    rb1.group = rbg1;
    rb2.group = rbg1;
    rb3.group = rbg2;
    rb4.group = rbg2;
    rb1.move(10,10);
    rb2.move(10,50);
    rb3.move(150,10);
    rb4.move(150,50);
    addChild(rb1);
    addChild(rb2);
    addChild(rb3);
    addChild(rb4);
    function resetGroup1(evt:MouseEvent){
    rbg1.selection.selected = false;
    rb1.selected = false;
    rb2.selected = false;
    rb3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, resetGroup1);
    rb4.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, resetGroup1);
    I rarely use radio buttons components.  If I need them, I usually create my own using movieclips.  If you go this route then you'll be able to decide what they can do, you just need to create the functions for controlling their behavior as a group..
