Writeback and Deployment Services

We are planning on a major infrastructure improvement for an overloaded Essbase OLAP server. One option was to use deployment services to cluster two (or more) servers. The load balancing and failover protection would be of great value. The problem is in our budgeting and acquisition cubes where there is a great deal of modification using lock and send from Excel.<BR><BR>I was told recently that Deployment Services clustering does not support writeback. I hadn't seen this in the documentation and was a bit suprized. Does anyone have an experience in this area? <BR><BR>Thanks

<BR>EDS Clustering does not support writeback at this time. You can, however, write back to a specified cube using EDS.<BR><BR>Tim Tow<BR>Applied OLAP, Inc<BR>

  • Develop and deploy services (ApplicationServiceFrame)

    Hello.
What the way to develop J2EE-services which implement ApplicationServiceFrame interface, using NWDS? Should I create "J2EE > Utility project" or something else? Or J2EE-service is just a library with some dependencies which should be included into EAR?
My previous attempt was to use Connector project but it does RAR files.
Future service is close to "XPI Adapter: Mail" by its possibilities.
Thank you in advance for any points.

I had seen ancient note 822542 for 6.30/6.40 custom service development, but no any note for current 7.4 Netweaver. Very pity

  • Impossibility to Import and Deploy CIAC Service Catalogs

    Hello,
I am a programmer working at Aciernet (Cisco Partner), and I am currently installing Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud.
I am contacting you because we’re having an issue with the deployment of packages in Cisco’s service portal Catalog Deployer.
We have installed TEO 2.3.4, the cloud portal (9.4.0) and Rex adapter according to guidelines in their install guides downloaded from Cisco.com, and we are currently following the steps in the “IAC_3_1_ConfigurationGuide”, and deploying service catalogs (page 62 of the guide) is not possible for us. We have also retraced our steps while reading the "CIAC_3.1_Cheat_Sheet_v0.2.2.pdf" document to make sure we installed the products correctly and in the right order. After importing them successfully and deploying them (all 3 at once) according to the guide, we get error messages. I tried deploying them one by one, and the messages are the same as in the log for deploying all 3 at once. I joined the error messages in this post.
We have followed Cisco’s guides rigorously, but now we are blocked by a problem we cannot understand, and need an assist.
    Thank you in advance,
    Ashley Gasmi, ACIERNET.

I hadn't noticed someone posted a new answer.
We we using 3 different servers (1 for the database, 1 for the portal and 1 for TEO), and someone was, I think, wrongly configured.
Since then we decided to install everything on the same VM, and were able to deploy the packages correctly.
My boss has also allowed me to install the latest version of CIAC, and we had no issues with the deployment of packages.
So our problem was linked to the fact we installed TEO, CSP and SQL database on different VM's. When we'll decide to change what we have at the moment (everything on 1 VM), I'll make a post to confirm our initial problem was because during the exportation process of packages we mixed the different VM's when information was asked.
    Thank you for your answers.

    1. Create Package
    2. Create Function group
    3. Create RFC function module
    4. Create webservice from the function module
    5. Create service definition, select port profie and deploy service and assign to Package and transport request
    6. Executed SOAMANAGER transaction , it opens a webpage with internet explorer defaul web page and I dont see any SOA administration related information and I dont have any clue how to proceed further.
Please let me know if I there is any prerequisities Like SP to be installed, or any configuration / settings needs to be done.

    Hello,
In Web Service hierarchy transaction SICF, node APPL_SOAP_MANAGEMENT should be active. The complete path is default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/APPL_SOAP_MANAGEMENT.
Once you are in the SOA Management screen, select single service adminstration and select your service and create End Point there.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    The steps are
    1. In start menu --> Run --> type Drivers and press enter
    2. In that select the folder etc
    3. Then open the file hosts in notepad
    4. In the hosts file add your server ip and the domain name and save it.
    5. Then in internet explorer click tools --> internet options --> connections --> lan settings ---> advanced and add the domain there also.
    it will work fine

  • Windows Deployment Services and Mikrotik

I Have an active Directory setup within my office, and I wish to take advantage of Windows Deployment Services to deploy office workstations for our employees.
    I have 1 requirement.
The DHCP server is an Mikrotik RouterBoard.
I need to know what options I need to set to allow our clients to PXE boot into WDS.
No one really seems to know what needs to be done.
Since there are options for using a 3rd party DHCP server software, I cant see why this will not work.

    check here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/DHCP_Server
you will probably need to use these:
    Sub-menu: /ip dhcp-server network
next-server (this may need to be set to the ip address of your WDS, so that your RouterBoard performs a referral to your WDS)
[this may be the only thing you need, if all your computers are on the same subnetwork]
otherwise you might need to explore these:
boot-file-name (not sure about this one)
dhcp-option (the usual options needed are option 66 and option 67)
    EDIT: this may help you:

  • Oracle Service Bus Configurations version control and deployment automation

    Hi,
Currently we have OSB10gR3 installed and we use the web based sbconsole to create projects and proxy services. It's all working well and good!!
We are at the state where we need to think about source control, migration of artifacts from dev to test and to prod.
I'm looking for pointers to version control the artifacts of OSB projects, what could be version controlled (no binaries) and how do we extract those artifacts?
How do we customize those artifacts while migrating to different environments in an automated fashion?
Please point me to best practices and gotchas that we should be aware of while dealing with deploying OSB proejcts from test to Prod.
    Thanks in Advance!!

After reading the threads mentioned by Deba, I'm able to get this all worked out with SBConsole itself. Experts, please review my approach below and let me know if I have overlooked anything.
Simple advantage I see in using sbconsole is that it requires less maintenance, i.e. avoids rolling out another IDE (Eclipse -Workshop plug-in) to IT developers and at the same time provides the functionality that we are looking for. Currently, JDeveloper is our primary IDE, so we thought it's best to wait till OSB development gets integrated into JDev.
This is the deployment workflow which worked for us,
    Developer:
1)Develops Proxy services using SBconsole in Dev environment.
2)Creates sbconfig.jar by using the export functionality available in System Administration link in sbconsole
3)Checks-in ALL the files present in the above jar into version control under the proxy service project name
    4) Creates customization file using the customization file link in System Administration and modifies the value for each environment i.e. creates two files test_customfille, prod_customfile
5)Checks-in the customization files into version control under the same proxy service project
    Promotion to Test and Prod
    1) From the source control, service proxy is built (actually the jar file of all files including the custom file is created)
    2) SCP proxy_sbconfig.jar file to Test or Prod box
    3) Follow the steps mentioned in Auto deploy of ALSB/OSB artifacts - Proxy, WSDL and webservices...
    4) Depending on the server, test or prod, pick the right customization file and deploy using ANT.
    Thanks!!

  • How to compile and deploy JAX-WS web service from commandline (!) ?

I have read a couple of tutorials about how to create and deploy web services with
    certain IDEs (e.g. Eclipse).
But I found no guide on how to compile a java web service source from command line !!
Lets say I have a java source class with annotations inside (like "@WebMethod").
How do I generate with the built-in j2ee v5 tools from a web service from command line and deploy it e.g. to TomCat or JBoss ?
Is there somewhere such a simple step-by-step intro?
    Thx
    Peter

You can download JWSDP 2.0 from sun and install it. Under jaxws (the installed directory) you can find sample directory which has build.xml can be run from command prompt using ant. if you want in detail means go through the build.xml and use wsgen.bat or wsimport under the bin directory of jaxws

  • Setting up a service and deploying it without JDeveoper

    Hi,
All the documentation (guides, books, blog entries, ...) I can
find about SOA Suite use JDeveloper as a black box to setup a
service project and deploy the service.
I'd like to setup, write, compile and deploy a simple hello-
world service without using JDeveloper (only using a plain text
editor, a shell and Java), in order to understand more precisely
the mechanisms involved and to be able to write our automated
    build and deployment scripts.
Where can I find such information?
    Regards,
    Florent Georges
    http://fgeorges.org/

I don't think anybody tried same with SOA 11g. SOA 11g is based on SCA which emphasizes on having one IDE for developing all SOA components and that's why you see JDeveloper referenced everywhere for development.

  • How to develop and deploy multiple worker roles in single azure cloud services?

    I am Manikandan, From Myeasydocs.com.
We have developed our application as web projects.  Now we are going to move to azure cloud services, i have successfully migrated our application in cloud services and it worked fine. I am having difficulties with back ground task. i have nearly 12
schedule tasks in our applications. I need assist on creating multiple worker role creation and deployment.
Is there is any site on explaining the worker role process in details?
    Thanks in advance .. !!

    Hi,
In Worker role, Applications hosted within worker roles can run asynchronous, long-running or perpetual tasks independent of user interaction or input. It is a service component that is useful for generalized development, and may perform background processing
for a web role. A worker role is frequently used for long-running tasks that are non-interactive, but you can host any type of workload.
I suggest you to follow the below article which explains about Creating and Deploying of Web Roles and Worker Roles in Azure Cloud Service using Visual Studio.

    Hope this helps !

  • Creating and deploying web services

    Hi,
    I am new to java.
I have created an EJB in NetBeans 5.5 that contains a web service (From one of the web service tutorials - CalculatorWSApplication).
The EJB compiles fine and deploys fine.
I am using the Sun's Server Platform Edition 9.0 Admin Console.
I created a connector connection pool and a connector resource which uses that pool. Then I created a registry with the Publish URL and the Query URL = http://localhost/services/uddi/v3/protect/publishapi (same as the example on the registry page (except for http instead of https).
When I try to publish the web service using the registry I just added I get the message: "Bad response: (405Method not allowed"
As I said, I am very new (started this week) to java and all the java tools so please give me the answer in baby steps, thanks :)
    Justin

    Hi, Saiah
Thanks for getting back to me.
I created a servlet with a doPut() method and it ran fine.
I also downloaded JBoss to see if it'd be easier for me to work with, still need a lot of knowledge for that to be useful :)
Maybe I'm completely on the wrong path, this is my problem in a nutshell:
Using NetBeans IDE 5.5 and following the web services tutorial (http://www.netbeans.org/kb/50/quickstart-webservice.html) when I get to the part "Consuming the Web Service" it tells me to call a web service operation ... when I do this I get a dialog box saying "Select Operation to Invoke" with "Available Web Services" beneath that ... in this dialog I should be seeing a list of web services (inc the ones I have created) but it is completely empty.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be, was I on the right path trying to publish it to the registry?
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • How to Create and Deploy Web Services Using Oracle 9i JDeveloper

You could use datasources. You should do this in your BC4J Configuration. Then when deploying your applicaiton use the command -installDataSource (from admin.jar) to create the right datasource.
You could probably use the name of your connection + "DS" so you can also use it locally in JDeveloper as JDev seesm to create this automaticly for your Connections.

  • Software Deployment Manager - runtime workbench and mdt service

    Hi Experts,
I undeployed certain service for PI 7.0 particularly on for rwb and mdt specifics. I was seeing some errors when opening the the runtime workbench. So I was thinking of undeploying it and redeploy it again..After I undeployed the service, and was looking at directory to redeploy it, I couldn't find the rwb and mdt folder. Any one have an idea where is it located or could I download it at marketplace and deploying it again? Thanks!

    Hi
Probably the best thing to do is download and deploy the XIAFC, XIAF and XITOOLS patches. These will contain the rwb and mdt components. After deploying these 3 patches the system should be back to normal.
