Writing Languages

Hi,
As a first time Android user, I am having 2 problems in the Language setting. First, I am trying to change the writing languages under Xperia Keyboard, there are many other different writing languages including Vietnamese, Japanese...etc but there's no Chinese keyboard option. Except if that I change my entire phone language into Chinese interfaces then i will be able to type chinese. This will make it very inconvenient that I have to change back to Chinese interfaces everytime i need to type chinese.
Another thing is that after I change my phone to Chinese interfaces, it makes that i could only "write English". Which I do not know how to change to "Type English" instead of writing alphabetical letters on glass screen.
Can someone help me out? I would really appreciated for making my life easier :-)

Settings > Language & input > Xperia Chinese keyboard > select your settings
then
open the messaging app > tap on the input box > drag down the notification bar > Choose input method > Xperia chinese keyboard
you will have to do this whenever you have to switch from English to Chinese

Hi,
I just got the E72-Danish version. It comes pre-installed with these languages: Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian, English. Though, I really need to be able to write in Swedish (especially the letters ä and ö is needed...).
How is this possible, either to:
- Write the letters ä and ö, or
- Even better get the Swedish language for writing

Select Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings and General >
Personalisation > Language> writing language
select swedish laguage if applicable
if none you are not able to download any languages because it is already the device feature..

Nokia 6500 slide - SMS writing language (chinese) ...

Hi,
Seek helps from all experts, I have recently updated my Nokia 6500 Slide firmware to 8.4. but unfortunately it cause some changes to my phone as the SMS writing language for Chinese characters has disappeared. Anyone could advise me on how to install it back to my phone?

How to change writing language in E61i?

I use both Arabic and English languages in my new E61i device. To change writing language while writing text, I can use the Writing Language option from the Options menu. But this option is not available in all cases in built-in applications, and does not exist at all in 3rd party applications, as they expect the existence of the pencil key.
Is there any public way or key shortcut to do so??

I had the same problem when I switched off my mobile and the writinf language was arabic.

I have a Nokia e61i; and while on web pages where i have to enter text; i couldn't change the writing/input language! how i can do so? should i get out to to messages change the writing language from there every time? Shouldn't we be able to change it within the web browesr?

E90: Greek Writing Language

Does anyone know how to get the Greek writing language for the E90. I have the Greek text to speech & slovo ed Greek-English dictionary and i still can't input text in the Greek character set.

I downloaded phone update software from the Nokia website
And now when I type on the QWERTY I get AZERTY
Also when I press *#0000# I am told

6700Slide Problem In SMS Writing Language

Is the last 2 or 3 Updates that releases For 6700Slide , There is not Farsi Language IN SMS Writing Language.
Please add this Writing Language.

you must go to a Nokia Care point and ask them to install it for you.
there will be a fee involved. please note that after installing a new software update or reinstalling the same, the language pack will be removed and a visit to Nokia Care will be required again.

X2-02 Writing Language is limited to Two

Hello Nokia/Forum Users,
I recently bought this Nokia X2-02 from a local store in Bangalore. The set is super and works well with FW 10.91 RM694. Thanks to Nokia who finally released a handset suitable to India, what I mean here is that the keypad has English ONLY language compared to ENG+HINDI in the older models.
Now there is a Language problem/limitation in this handset, during SMS typing, I choose Options->Writing Language, I get only English or Hindi, I don’t get any other language options even though its present in this phone.
Under Settings -> Device -> Language Settings, I can choose any language and phone displays that language but even then I cannot type in that language. In older handsets we could type in the language that’s present in phone.
Is this a bug in the phone? Will this be corrected in the coming versions of software update?

The available languages in the phone should be available for texting as well.
Try a software update with Nokia Suite and. Click on the green arrow to see all available updates. If none are available you will be able to reinstall your current software.
If an update doesn't fix the issue, contact your retailer instead.

How to quickly switch a writing language? Pencil's...

Hello there.
I have to switch a writing language very often, so using the pencil's menu is quite long way for me. And many colleagues of mine agree with me. I’m not kidding. Does anybody know any 3rd party apps which allow define a short-key combination (double press on the pencil, for example) to switch a writing language between some predefined ones?
Any help will be appreciated

The creator of the thread was very clear for people with experience in S60, so maybe you should stop giving advice you know nothing about, and writing with "CAPS LETTERS".
And I agree, there should be an easier way of altering between dictionary languages, as I find myself constantly changing when using the Web to post in English forums, or to send SMS to my Brazilian friends.
Because some users don't know how to RATE and express HUMANITY ......( you are not out of them, I think )

Writing language, you mean handwriting? If you already have russian in your phone, i believe setting that as the default language throughout the phone would also make it the handwriting language.

I bought on 15 jan 2009 a Nokia 5800 Nav in Holland but there is only Enlish Francais Duetsch Italiano Portugues Espanol HOW can I get or find Dutch writing Language ???????????

Hello. I don't know how legal is it, but U can add new languages using RomPatcher, and patch name LangSelectionForAll. U will need to change one resource file, I don't remember the name, but U can find it from google. Or U can find already edited resource files with languages U want. Just google it, and U will find how to do it.
