Writing with a tablet

hi all,
i feel like such an idiot and really need some help. i bought a usb tablet today, hoping to use it to hand-write things on my mac for use with camtasia. (in short, i'm making "office hour" videos to go along with some textbooks i've written. previously, i've had to use windows since there was no camtasia for mac, and i used the program "windows journal" which allows you to both paste in graphics AND hand-write stuff on the screen using a tablet.)
what i need is something similar for mac. i've plugged in the tablet and gotten it working, but i can't DO anything with it.... what programs will recognize the pen on the tablet as writing and translate that to writing in a document? i'm NOT talking about handwriting recognition. i want the actual handwriting to appear. surely this can't be that hard, but i've come up empty.
thanks.

Well it does help in getting proper suggestions.
Never used a tablet so I do not know if it requires certain system requirements. Since you are still using Panther, are you sure the tablet is compatible? Have you checked the manufacturer support website?
Will Highlight work for you? Other highlight type software can be found on Versiontracker and Macupdate.

  • Mac OS 10.4.3 freezing/locking up with Wacom tablet and driver

Hey guys, I have recently purchased the Wacom Intuos3 6x11 tablet and now my PowerBook freezes after like 10 minutes to 2 hours I plug it in. So far I have tried removing and installing different drivers. I have also have reinstalled my system (erase and install, custom no printer drivers and foreign languages) I have run permissions repair, disk repair, Extended Apple Hardware Test, and I have also rest the PRAM - I'm running out options. I don't have any other drivers installed yet, only some apps like Adobe CS2, Alias SketchBookPro 2, Painter 9. The system runs fine without the driver but it makes the tablet useless. Also the tablet runs w/o any issues on my Windows machine (XP pro).
Oh, I have also re-calibrated my tablet and still nothing.
The lock-ups happen no matter in what application I am in or what I'm doing.
    Any ideas?
Also, Wacom tech guys have no idea what to do with this one.

I've been running with that tablet since October with no problems on my G4 800 Dual, except for an annoying scrolling problem in Safari. You might try launching Console and leave it in the background and see if any messages show up when the problem occurs. You might also check the system.log in Console and see if you spot anything in there, though that is harder to sort out. Also in Console take a look in ~/Library/Logs CrashReporter section and see if there are any crash logs involving the tablet. You might also run the hardware test disk to see if it spots anything wrong. It could be a problem with the USB plug.

  • HT2729 How can I share my itunes book with my tablet (non-Apple product)?

How can I share my itunes book with my tablet (non-Apple product)?

If it's an ibook then you can't - they can currently only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch (there isn't even a Mac or PC reader for them).

  • Does apple tv work with android tablets

Does apple tv work with android tablets.

    Doubtful.
What allows for streaming content from an iPad to a television thru an Apple TV is Apple software included with iOS on the iPad and the Apple TV software. Unless there is a 3rd party android app that provides for this, no.

  • Cannot make a mark with my tablet

Hello... I'm using CS4/Illustrator and for some reason, I can no longer make a "lasting" mark whenever I use my tablet. (I'm using a Bamboo Wacom).
I used to be able to to this, but now I can't... I was drawing with my tablet when all of a sudden, it stopped marking my marks... so I'm assuming I accidently pressed some kind of option that I can't figure out how to undo.
I took a screen shot of what is happening: http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af60/CrescentChi/Picture114_zpsd19c8a55.png
Once when my pen leaves the tablet, the mark goes away... (also that yellow-lined background was not there before...)... and another thing that may or may not help... whenever I "let go" or lift my pen away from my tablet, a different tool is automatically selected for me.
Anyone know what I did and how I may be able to fix it? I'm going to try resetting my Illustrator preferences and re-installing my tablet, but as this happened so suddenly, I really think that I may have pressed an option that I didn't mean to...
Thanks in advance for the help (and looking/reading this!)

    Okay, I figured it out....

apparently, my tablet was set to handwriting..

  • Colors are overlapping when drawing with a tablet...

I apologize for the bad headline.
My problem is easy. When coloring something with my tablet, the colors are overlapping as hell but ONLY when I release the pen and then color again, over it.
The problem with that is, that I cannot go back once the pen is released and get a even~ish color. It is almost like I get the multiply-effect even though neither the layer nor the pen is set to that option.
Maybe these pictrues can explain it better:
    http://i54.tinypic.com/sbroqw.jpg
This picture shows the overlapping. It is way to dark, and it doesn't get this dark when I go back and the pen was not released. Only, when I release the pen and then go back. It doesn't get this dark, at all, in other programs like Paintool Sai and more.
Here is a picture of my settings.

I really need this solved. Come with everything, I'd greatfull!

My advice would be to learn a little more about Illustrator. Once you do, the tablet will work more like you're expecting. For instance, I would look up in the Help files or in a book how the brush and pencil tools function. Different settings in different places will spare you the surprise of ever-changing lines as you draw them. You'll probably also want to know how to draw open and closed paths if you hope to fill your drawings with color.
On the other hand, drawing on paper is a treat that you'll not really be able to replicate on computer. Even with a tablet. Doesn't feel the same, doesn't sound the same, doesn't smell the same. Doesn't even look the same.

  • Does anyone know why I am having formatting issues with my tablet and phone sites? I only have the desktop layout. There are banners and footers not reaching the edge of the screen.

I only have the desktop layout. As I was having such problems with the tablet and phone layouts. However there are banners and footers not reaching the edge of the screen. This is only a problem when accessing the site via a phone or tablet.
    the site is www.excellententertainment.biz

Do a Select all on your pages (Most likely a master page if it effects all pages) and you will likely find an empty element or element that extends past the design edges in your desktop design.

  • Good day, i need to authoriz adobe with my tablet please help

    good day,
i need to authoriz adobe with my tablet to read e-book (rdm) file format

This is a user supported frum, so making threats really doesn't help, besides which it's not like any of us can really make a dent in Toshiba's bottom line despite how many people we think we can influence. Unless those people were standing in line to buy a Toshiba product cash in hand, and you pulled them out, it really doesn't add up for them.
At this point it would probably be better for you to use the 800 number. Have all your e-mails ready to forward, if needed, to whoever you end up talking to. Don;t let them off the hook. An hour on the phone is much better than weeks passing e-mails through a support site. Also contest the charge with your bank or credit card.

  • Trouble using Photoshop CC with Surface Tablet with Pen input.

I installed Creative Cloud in my Windows Surface Pro 8.1 Tablet. The software works well, but I am unable to use Photoshop with the pen input device provided with the tablet. I'm trying to draw freehand using the Pencil command in Photoshop, but the pen only draws diagonal lines from the left edge of the drawing. This does not happen when I use the computer's mouse, with which I can draw freehand as usual, no problem. The pen device also works well with Adobe Illustrator. I installed all the available updates. I would appreciate any help.

There are supposed to be new software announcements tomorrow...  I'd watch to see whether what you're hoping to do will be better supported.

  • Help with dumb tablet

So i had problems with my tablet with charging and sent it in they sent me a refurb ( cheap f**ks) and now its doing the same thing i have to shove the wire deep in. Anyways when i connect the tablet to the computer it does not charge it just says plugged in and also desktop manager doesnt recognize it please help im going nuts
on another note when i do a backup of my bb9900 it does not backup pictures and videos even though i said full backup please im going nuts someone help with this crappy products.

Is the USB lead an original Blackberry lead?  If not, it will almost certainally cause problems with Desktop Manager. Also, it will not charge from the PC USB port but an exclamation mark informing you of this will appear in the top left corner of the PB.
Not sure why your BB9900 is not working with full backup, mine works perfectly and creates a folder called Blackberry in the 'My Pictures' folder (windows 7 x64).

  • How can I access my internet network with the tablet?

I have one of these DSL-2680 TalkTalk modem that you just press a button and then it sends the information necessary to access the network to your computer or tablet. Well, it is not working with my tablet and it keeps on asking me for a password. The password is only 5 digit long and the tablet says it needs to be at least 8 digits. I simply do not know what to do.

Hve you not changed your modem's password from the default "admin" to something that's a bit more secure?

i got a new laptop and need to sync it with my tablet and my phone but i can't create a new account because my info is linked to my old laptop that my sister now has

You need to use "add a device" to add additional devices to an existing Sync account. <br />

If you want a new Sync account you need to use a different email address.

  • Bluetooth lag with Logitech Tablet keyboard

    Hi there,
just got the Xperia Tablet S 64 GB and am running Android 4.1.1.
I'm trying to use the Logitech Tablet keyboard with the tablet but the lag between typing letters and having the letters appear is unbearable. That is, if I touch type a sentence, I have to wait several seconds for the tablet to slowly print it out on the screen letter by letter, much slower than I typed.
I'm sure the problem is not the keyboard because it works fine on another device.
Does the Xperia just have a slow bluetooth version or is there something I can do?
    Thanks for any help.

Could you try disable wifi and then check if it still lagging ?
Might be bluetooth wifi interfearance thats still little bit bugged.
If reported this with bluetooth headset using 2.4g kills bluetooth headset, while on 5G headset kills 5G wifi.
This looks fixed so far, tough wifi speed is slower for example when their also bluetooth activity
That might be reason its also lagging because its not optimised properly yet.
