WRK54G firmware upgrade fails: file pattern error.

When I attempt to upgrade the firmware in my WRK54G router, the upgrade fails with this error message:
Upgrade action is not finish!!
Upgrade file pattern error.
The linksys download page says the file size is 1.10 MB.
The size of the file I downloaded (WRK54Gv2_1_00_1) is also 1.10 MB (1,160,036 bytes). So it appears the file was downloaded successfully.
I had no problem upgrading the firmware to version 1.1.
Please advise.
Thank you

What is the hardware version of your router? Is it version 1, version 1.1 or version 2? Where did you download the firmware of your router? Is it from the US website.
On the US website you have 3 wrk54g, one is version 1, version 1.1 and v2.

    Model BEFW11S4
    Version 3
    Firmware 1.2.
I have connected my Win XP laptop with cable directly to the router, and I am trying to update firmware to version 1.45.10 which should be the correct update for my model, but the upgrade is interrupted with "Upgrade file pattern error".
I have tried hard-resetting the router before upgrading, but with the same result.
    What to do?

How are you upgrading the routers firmware? Are you using the router web-based user-interface? If you are then try using this alternate way...
Go to www.linksys.com/downloads .. search for BEFW11S4 v3 ... then download the Set-up Wizard. Use this to upgrade your router instead. When you run this program, it will ask you for a server, password and then a file. Server is the router IP, password is the router password (default is admin) and file would be the firwmware you downloaded... once you input the necessary info... hit upgrade and you should be good to go.

  • Creative Zen Microphoto - "Firmware upgrade failed&qu

    Hi,
two days ago my Zen Microphoto started in "Recovery Mode".
I had no means of getting out. I first selected "Clean Up" and rebooted, still "Recovery Mode".
Then I downloaded the latest firmware version for it:
    ZENMicroPhoto_PCFW_L6__3_0.exe
Then I selected "Upgrade Firmware", acknowledged with "Yes", the firmware was deleted, but the windows firmware application said "no player connected" after connecting the player.
Okay, after googling a bit, I found out that I needed to downgrade from WMP to WMP 0.
I (painfully) did this and after installing an additional Registry Key via fixup.cmd the
    ZENMicroPhoto_PCFW_L6__3_0.exe
detected the player (hurray!). It showed "Current Player Firmware Version .20.0 " and "Upgrade File Version .3.0".
When clicking on "Upgrade" at the windows application, the blue progress bar appeared and the player showed "Recovery Mode" and a blinking USB logo.
What it did NOT show afterwards was a gear symbol with "Upgrading firmware" (which I found on a screenshot in the internet).
When the blue progress bar of the windows firmware upgrade application reached about 85% it halted and after minute the windows firmware application showed "Firmware upgrade failed!" while the player only showed a black screen with "Recovery Mode" and the green battery symbol at the top.
I also tried the same procedure with
ZenMicroPhotoP4S_PCFW_LB__20_0.exe with the same result: "Firmware upgrade failed!"
Any ideas how to "repair" the player

  • Firmware upgrade fails

I am having trouble upgrading the firmware on my WRE54G. My hardware is v.3 and the existing firmware is 3.01.01.
I downloaded the latest firmware and extracted the .img file. I went to the admin page of the expander, pointed it towards the new firmware, and hit "go." After a minute or so it said something like:
    Firmware upgrade fail.
    Fail!
    No reasons are given.
Anybody have any idea what is going on?
    Thanks,
    Garth

I had a similar problem upgrading firmware with my WRT300N. What i did to solve the problem was first i downloaded and went through the winzip program given for the router, then i went back to the webpage of the router and retried the upgrade and it worked. I actually ignored by routers version, and downloaded and went through each winzip program and each firmware upgrade for every different version . **i only downloaded the firmware up to my version and my version**.

  • Vision:M - "Firmware upgrade failed!&qu

After spending several long, long hours rolling back WMP, trying different USB ports, installing and uninstalling various software, and borrowing friends' computers, I FINALLY got the firmware upgrade software to recognize my mp3 player. With great delight and an intense feeling of satisfaction, I clicked the "Upgrade" button and waited for several minutes, only to get a "Firmware upgrade failed!" message. I've tried the "Reload Firmware" option more than once, only to receive the very discouraging "Harddisk Problem". I've tried everything I can think of, from formatting to rebooting to resetting to reloading, but to no avail. I'm now left, like so many others, with a $300 bookend. Now what? I'm completely demoralized.

Well, being the stubborn person that I am,?I didn't listen to your advice andYesterday, against all odds from what I read on this forum, and being told that I would end up with an expensi've paperweight,? I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my Zen Vision M 30MB. ?I downloaded the newest firmware .6, saved it on my laptop which runs WMP 0, disabled all applications, including Norton and virus and spyware programs, as well as Creative's detector, connected my Zen Vision M to the USB dri've, double clicked the new firmware file, and followed the instructions. The new firmware started installing, within 3 minutes my player rebooted and then the library started rebuilding and within 5 minutes the process was SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED!!!!!My player is working better than ever, it has all the new upgrades, album art, never went into Recovery Mode, and most important of all, I didn't lose any of my 2500 songs, hundreds of photos, slideshows and numerous videos, even my personal wallpaper and themes remained the same. I subsequently took the player to my desktop which runs WMP to test it'sand lo and behold, my player was immediately recognized, i transferred music and pictures without any problem and my player is now drag and drop compliant ?through Windows Explorer. My faith in Creative is unfaltering, I also own a MUVO TX FM, a Zen Micro and a Zen Sleek Photo and never had any problem with any of them.

  • Firmware upgrade failed, printer now say i has firmware version 0. attention light lights up

    Hey all
I had a problem printing a pdf on my mac, and then tried to upgrade my mac driver and printer firmware.
But the firmware upgrade failed for some unknown reason. And now the printer just have the ready and attentions lights on constantly.
I have tried to restart and reset the printer many times, and tried the HP firmware upgrade utility several times, with no luck. It just say it was "failed to upgrade"
Any idea what to do ??
My printer is a HP Laserjet Pro CP1025nw
    Thanks
    Jan

    Hello Jan
It definitely sounds like the firmware update failed. Firmware is like a devices Operating System. Without it, it can't do much. This is backed by the "failed" message and that your printer reports it has version 0.
The printer will need to be serviced. Please call HP Phone Support at 1-800-474-6836.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.

  • Linksys e4200v2 firmware upgrade fails -bad file

I'm trying to upgrade my frmware to the lastest one (classic firmware)
I've downloaded this file multiple times http://homedownloads.cisco.com/downloads/firmware/1224693043651/FW_E4200_2.0.37.131047.zip
When I try the firmware upgrade (manual upgrade) and select the file, it always complains about the file being corrupt (using the .ssa file in the zip).
How can I solve this issue?
    Kind Regards, Jurgen

Hi, I’ve noticed that all smart routers’ classic firmware starting from E4200 v2 to EA4500 contains .ssa as the file extension. So, the moment you load a firmware with that file extension then the router should automatically read it. What you can do is to use other browsers or better yet use another computer just to isolate the problem.  If that will not work then try the following:
Download the tftp utility (select version 4)
Disconnect the modem from the router and just have the computer connected to the router's ethernet port
Assign a static ip address on your computer
Lower the speed of the computer's LAN card to 10 half duplex
disable any firewall or anti-virus software on your computer
    Run the tftp utiilty

  • Spa508 firmware upgrade failed

I bought a spa500ds and need to upgrade the firmware on my 508G to use it.
When I try to upgrade to 7.5.4, or 7.5.3 I get a failure.  I was able to upgrade to 7.5.1a fine.  All firmware was downloaded from cisco this morning and unziped
I see my tftp server giving the file.
I get upgrade failed: 12. corrupt file in my syslog
Any idea where to look next?

It states on the release notes of 7.5.4, that upgrading from 7.5.1a you should first upgrade the phone to 7.5.2b.
Have you done this upgrade step?

Go to the control panel/network connections and right click on the local area connection.  Click properties and roll down to highlight Internet protocol TCP/IP.  Click the properties button and check "use the following IP address".  Fill in 192.168.1.5 and tab through.  The subnet mask will fill itself out to 255.255.255.0
make the preferred DNS server 192.168.1.1 (the router) and click okay.
If the computer succeeds in getting an IP address (verify this by opening a command window and typing "ipconfig" and seeing what it say under the local area connection), type ping 192.168.1.1 in the same command window and see if the router responds.
If so, you can use the TFTP.exe utility from linksys, available from linksysinfo.org at
    http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=4
Run this program, point it at the router IP 192.168.1.1 and show it the bin file you want to use.  Might be a good time to use the released firmware rather than a beta.  But that is your call.  You can get the latest firmware from the linksys page.
If you are unable to ping the router, try putting the ethernet cable in a different port.  Don't ask me why, but when my router bricked, it would only work on slot 4.  Found this out by accident, but I was able to fix the router when I did this.  If it does not work on any slot, you may be screwed.  Call linksys and ask for a RMA to get a replacement.  I would not tell them you bricked it with a beta firmware!

  • BDX2300 firmware upgrade fail (USB)

I have had mulltiple screen freezes on most Bluray discs I have tried. I see there is a firmware upgrade 1.15 to stabalize, but...
I have followed the instructions for copying the files for firmware upgrade to USB drive in Directory UPG_ALL. When I plug the USB drive into the player, I see the USB icon loading, but the player does not try to load the firmware as the instruction states:
    3)
“Insert the USB Thumb Drive with the firmware” copied to the drive into the USP port located on the front. (Note: Some models may have the USB port located behind a protective cover or on the rear of the unit)
    4)
After a few seconds the update screen will appear. The unit will automatically update the firmware in sequence as shown in Figure 1a through 1d.
If I go to Setting, system, and try to upgrade from USB, I get a messsage that the file is not found. I have verified the files are in the directory as requested.
What are the correct instructions that will allow me to update my firmware via USB?

I just successfully upgrade my brother's machine thanks to this forum:
Here is what worked for me with upgrade V1.22. after much trial and error: (Your folders will have your version in the name)
Unzip the downloaded zip file. There is a real nice PDF file that tells you exactly how to do it. THROW IT OUT!
On a clean thumb drive (don't worry about  BUDA and System Volume information) create a folder named  UPG_ALL.
When you unzip your file you will find, besides the PDF file you should dispose of, a folder named V1.22. In that folder you will find yet another folder named V1.22.
In that folder you will find some files: I had the following in mine:
    8551_linux_demo_dbg.bin
    8551_linux_demo_dbg_id.bin
    DVD.bin
    dvd_id.bin
    mt8551_bl_linux.bin
Copy those files to the UPG_ALL folder on the Thumb drive.
Now some of you may have gotten this far before, what they didn't tell us was that you can tell the player to look on the USB port.
With thumb drive inserted and the power on select the icon on the tv screen with the gears. Then select SETTINGS and  then select UPDATE.
You should now see a choice  for disk - USB - or network (or something like that)
Select USB and wallah you should have an update occur.
This last part was strictly from memory, because I couldn't interupt the movie my brother  was watching.
    I hope this helps,
    Jerry

  • SGE2010P 48port Gigabit POE Firmware Upgrade fails

I have a Linksys SGE2010P 48 Port switch with POE and I cannot get the firmware to upgrade.
I have downloaded the firmware software from the site: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9985/index.html
Everytime I run the EasyUpgrade application I get the error after it starts the Telnet session:
"Did not find device information. Application will terminate"
I cannot find any reason why this is happening. I know that I have a SGE2010P and I know that I am downloading the correct firmware.
    Am I missing something?

I am having the same issue where the "Easy upgrade" utility fails.  When I try to upgrade firmware via the Web GUI, I am able to upload the "Software Image" & when I click "Done" the Firmware Upgrade screen displays again without any status and/or notifications relating to the firmware that was just "successfully" uploaded (according to the screen at least).
I was able to successfully upgrade the Boot Version from : 2.0.0.00 to 2.0.0.03 with this same process so what is going on with the Firmware update?
It is as if the Firmware is uploading to the switch but the update is not running.
    Help!

  • Muvo TX FM 512MB: firmware upgrade failed. How to recov

Hi, I have a Muvo TX FM 52MB. The firmware version used to be .4.0x. I tried to upgrade it to the newest one, .7.04.
I did everything according to the Instructions on the Creative Download Website. I let the OS to choose the recovery driver for me. The firmware upgrade file correctedly found my player and executed the upgrade. However, there's no instruction that I should check the format data option during upgrade. So I didn't format the data during upgrade. After the upgrade, I couldn't start the player and the PC couldn't recognize it.
I tried to do the upgrade again. The PC correctly recognized the player as a recovery device. After I started the creative upgrade program, the program founds the recovery device, then started to find any device connected to the computer, finally said that "The device is not connected to the USB port".
How to solve it's Many thanks.
    Alex

go to nomadworld.com and find the firmware... READ PROPERLY... it says that u must install a new driver before u upgrade the firmware... mine works... for now, to recover it, press and hold the play button on the player while connecting it and hold the button until a window appears to install the player recovery software... before that, install the new driver first. then let windows search for the driver. windows will clear everything up in ur player. NOW U CAN DO UR firmware update... it doesnt matter whether u want to format or not cause the firmware upgrade program will format your player even though u didnt want to do it. its not the formatting problem.. hope this hel
    ps.
    thanks for reading.

I just got a Shuffle. I had iTunes 5.xx installed. Message suggested I should upgrade to 6, so I downloaded the installer. Installation of 6 fails with -1603 error.
Tried uninstalling iTunes as a remedy, but iTunes doesn't appear in Windows Uninstall list, nor is there any uninstall info in iTunes help, nor here online. That is not nice!

    hi Snorkeler!
just checking. is the 1603 occurring "standalone" or is it showing up at the end of a chain of error messages?
(if it's a standalone, we attack it head on. but if it's at the end of a chain, we treat the first error in the chain.)
