Wrong album art, podcast art, music video art

I've noticed that several depictions of what should be the album artwork, podcast artwork etc. are not being displayed properly on my iPhone. Rather than the correct artwork there are random representation of genius playlist artwork instead. The Mac is displaying everything correctly, but even after repeated syncs the problem doesn't seem to get rectified.

Really? Apple, really? Your product is all about "just working" and people expect your products to be "beautiful and simple". Your genius album art is all over my retina displayed music and I don't get to see the art from the artist who's art I purchased! You have people in here asking "please"! Isn't there some way you could maybe respond - even with your middle finger - so we can move on? 9 months!!!
In everything I say about iPhone and Apple I will tell people not to buy! This is not the only problem you've insisted we put up with and I'm fed up! You've changed & I'm done with you!!

  • Ipod displays wrong album art & skips entire songs since updating to 1.2

I recently got the new itunes update and the ipod update 1.2, and ever since that it has been skipping entire batches of songs and shows wrong album art for the songs that DO play. I have a 30 Gig Video
      Windows XP

Try this: Open itunes> plug in your ipod> select your ipod icon> click the music tab> uncheck the box that says display alblum artwork (unless its already unchecked)> click apply> check the same box again> click apply. If all else fails you can restore your ipod and the artwork will come with it.

  • Wrong album art displaying for songs on my iPod Classic.

I am having a problem with my 160GB classic iPod. (6th gen. I believe, it's the first 160GB iPod to be released.)
It doesn't happen a lot, but I noticed wrong album art displaying for my songs on my iPod. Then when I check in itunes, the album art is correct. Also, I manually manage my music and videos. So when I check the album art from my ipod's hard-drive through itunes, the album art is correct as well.
I believe the problem happens when the iPod itself tries to find the album art images for the current song being played. It somehow gets jumbled and puts up a random album art image instead of the one it is supposed to.
One thing i noticed is this. Lets say I shuffle all my songs. Once I get up to a song with wrong album art, I skip pass it lets say about 5-10 songs, then I go back to it. The album art often corrects itself, and the right album art is displayed.
I looked around the forums here and see that other people are having similar problems with different kinds of iPods. Maybe it's a firmware issue?

I'm having the exact same issue on my iPod Classic. Haven't used this forum before - do experts provide feedback, or do we just hope that another user can suggest a cure? I haven't reformatted my iPod yet - huge pain, as I also manually manage my music - but will do that if no other solutions present themselves.

  • Wrong album art shows

all the sudden wrong album art is showing up for various album its all mixed up like 2pac is showing lamb of god artwork and beatles had 2pac..i use iart to get the album art

Try unchecking "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.
Then check "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when youd iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod again.
This should resync the album artwork to the iPod.
If this does not work, you might need to restore the iPod and reload the songs in order to correct this error.

  • Wrong Album Art Displaying

I have the iPhone 3g and updated to 2.2. Now, when I play music, the wrong album art is displayed. It doesn't happen on every song, and I checked the song information in iTunes on my Mac and they are right. When I play it on my computer, the album artwork is fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for the help!

That's strange - I find this problem on iTunes. I include the album art correctly, but sometime later a different album cover appears for the same song. I don't know how this happens.

  • What do you do when iTunes provides the wrong album art?

What do you do when iTunes downloads the wrong album art? I haven't found an easy way to override this or notify the iTunes store about it.
I have gone in and deleted, and re-updated the artwork. I have also gone song by song and looked to see if more than one piece of artwork is associated. Neither fix this.
Specific current example is the Amon Tobin album "Chaos Theory". The artwork was correct on this until just recently. Currently the artwork downloaded is for the Chaos Theory Remix album (for both the original album, and the remix album).
Who controls this? The content publisher (e.g.-Ninja tunes)?
    Thanks

Go into the track ot tracks en block and get info. Go to the artwork tab and delete the downloaded artwork. Google to find alternative artwork and then add it to the track(s).

  • Wrong Album Art 4 Certin Albums

When going thur the iPod on my iPhone I c a few albums with different album art(both thur coverflow & albums). But this does not happen on my laptop.Does anybody else have this problem? If anybody can help or give me an idea as to why this happens that would be a great help. Thanks a mill!

I was having the same trouble with album artwork being displayed on the wrong albums or not showing up at all even though it is correct and in place in iTunes. What i did to solve it, although a bit of a hassle, was to delete all of my music from my iPhone and sync it all back in groups of 60-90 songs at a time after the 1.1.3 update and now everything looks and works great. Hope this helps...

  • Wrong album art when using PC library

I have a new iPad 2. I also have iTunes running on a PC.
On the PC, all of the album art is correct, but when I connect over Wi-Fi to my iTunes library on the PC from my iPad using the Music app, some of the albums have the wrong art work. Most are correct but some albums (which works out to quite a few) show the art work to other albums in my library.
Also, when I connect to my iCloud library from the iPad, all of the albums have the correct artwork. So, the problem only occurs when I connect to my PC's library from the iPad.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Is there a way to force the Music app to forget what it thinks it knows about my PC library so that it'll have to start from scratch?
I'm using iTunes Match on both the PC and the iPad.
I've searched the web and found some other people complaining of the same thing but always with different scenarios and the rare times a solution is suggested it doesn't seem to apply to my scenario.
    iTunes v.10.5.1.42, on PC (Win 7, x64)
    iPad v.5.0.1

I think I just figured out one way of forcing the Music app to start over with the library.  Log into a different account, reboot, and start the Music app.  Then log back into the correct account, reboot again, start the Music app, and connect to the PC library.  It should start from scratch.
Perhaps there is a simpler way to accomplish the same thing.
The album art appears to be correct now.

  • Missing/inconsistent/wrong album art after installing iTunes 10

Ever since I installed iTunes 10, weird things are happening with the album art in my iTunes libraries and across my iPods and iPhone.
Before the update, most of my library had album art -- in fact, I had gone to the trouble of pasting it into the individual songs so that it would be "embedded" in the file.
It's still there in the library, but not on my phone or iPods, random tracks are missing artwork, or display artwork from a different track.
Makes no sense, or at least I haven't been able to figure out what the commonality is with the affected tracks. Anyone else seen this?

If all your music is in iTunes, you could try restoring your iPod, this will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings
Alternatively if your iPod is set to update automatically then try this:
    1. Connect your iPod
    2. Disable "Show Album art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
    3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes. (Disconnecting and then reconnecting your iPod will do the trick)
    4. Re-enable "Show Album Art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
    5. Syncronise the iPod again.

  • Coverflow shows wrong album art

I have a problem with coverflow in iTunes. Some of the album art that is shown during a song is from the wrong album e.g. when I am playing "Greatest Hits" by Stevie Ray Vaughn, it displays the cover of "Greatest Hits" by ZZ Top. I have looked at the art info on each of the tracks, and they are correct. Ideas???

I am having the same problem. Help...anyone??

  • Wrong Album Art Displayed

I could not find anyone who has the same problem as I do. When I play music on the iPod I love adding album art. However when I installed the latest update for the iPod I encountered a glitch when playing music on the device.
For example, if I decide to play Beck's album Odelay, a different album art is displayed on all songs in the album. However if I change the iPod screen to album art only while the song is playing, the correct album art is displayed. I don't think that this is an iTunes bug as this problem does not occur on iTunes. It occurs only on my iPod.
Is there a way to fix this bug?
    iPod 30gb   Windows XP Pro

Try this, it usually sorts out incorrect artwork being displayed:
    1. Connect your iPod
    2. Disable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
    3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes.
    4. Re-enable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
    5. Syncronise the iPod again.

  • Wrong Album Art

My iPod Touch 4G is not synced with my computer, because there are multiple people using the computer, and I would prefer not to have their music on my device. Thus, I download my music via my iPod. I know that if I sync my music now, everything on my iPod will be deleted.
The album artwork on my iPod had been messed up. I was wondering if there was any way to change it. When I view it all on iTunes, the artwork is normal, but on the iPod, it is different.
Since the iPod is not synced with the computer, I cannot simply delete and update.

I tried, and had the same problem, the -50 error. It was in the middle of "optimizing album art", and the error occurred.
Now, it updates fine. No errors. But much of my album art isn't transferred. Grrr. Beware of this "solution"! I think I might have to take all the songs off and reload them. 8000 songs. Should be an all-night affair. I can't wait.

  • I have an iPod touch 4th gen. why does it show the wrong album art only on my ipod and not on itunes? Is there any way I can fix it?

I have an ipod touch 4th gen. why does it show the wrong album artwork on my ipod and it's fine on itunes. why is that and is there any way to fix it? please help!

I think it can't find the right or any artwork and ends up putting junk in there.
And can happen with artist and other tags.
probably fine with commercial media but otherwise....? I think you have to manaully go in and edit
I also don't like how it handles and stores non-Apple iTunes store content.

  • Wrong album art from iTunes

When I come across an mp3 which I bought from elsewhere and it has no artwork I search on iTunes to see if it is there - then match the album name and click download artwork. 9/10 it works fine but sometimes it gives me art which is totally wrong, even though when viewing the album in iTunes store is correct. For instance, The Very Best of Marvin Gaye is a nice cover but when iTunes downloads it for me it comes out as something called The Sounds of the Seashore - nowt to do with Marvin!
Any ideas why this happens - any fixes?
    Thanks

One of the biggest reasons that I've found where this happens is if there are "special" characters (i.e. ' " : ; ( ) -- those seem to be the biggest cuplrits,) in the Artist or Album name. There might be something else going on as well, as I'm also unable to download any Led Zeppelin artwork, even if the ID3 tags match the iTunes Store exactly.

  • Why is my album art downloading to the wrong music?

When I am syncing my iPhone, I am getting an error (-54) at times. I am also seeing the wrong album art downloading with the incorrect music. Whenever I use a song for my alarm, I see music that I do not have checked to be on my phone showing up and it always has the wrong album art. Please advise. Thank you so much!

The only way I was able to get the album art correct was to hook my iPod up to my laptop and then go into iPod Preferences and check the box that says hide Album art. I then updated my iPod and all my album art was wiped off my iPod. The next step is to go back into preferences for the iPod and enable album art again and the next time I updated...BINGO, all my artwork was put back correctly. It took a little work but I'm happy with it!
