Wrong apple id logged in

Hey all, I need some help. Last week I changed my icloud email address because it was going to become inactive. My problem now is it's still logged in on my devices but I can't change it or anything because the password is no longer accepted. I've looked online for help about getting my id switched on my devices to the new one but I'm not getting any answers. Please help!

Hi balki468,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are seeing an old email address signed into iCloud on your iOS device but cannot do anything with it because that email address is inactive. What you will need to do in this situation is go to the Apple ID website and temporality edit your current Apple ID / email address back to that old email address. It is ok that you no longer have that account, you will not need to verify it, just edit and change your current account back to the old one temporarily. Once the account is changed back to the old email address, sign out of iCloud on the iOS device and when prompted keep your information on the device. After you sign out on the iOS device, go back to the Apple ID website and edit the old account back to the correct one. Please use the following article as a reference.
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud

Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
I hope this helps,
-Joe

  • Wrong Apple ID: How do I change the Apple ID prompt when Updating All Apps?

How can I change the (wrong) Apple ID from the password prompting dialogue when I am already signed in Apple Store with my own ID?
    More details of my problem:
When I try the Apps' Update-All option in my iPod 4, the password dialogue prompts me with my girlfriend's Apple ID; YET, I AM signed in the Apple Store with MY own Apple ID.
I have already verified my ID under Settings/Store. I have also signed out, signing back in with my Apple ID, just in case. No problems there, for I DO sign in with my own ID ok. The problem is just the prompt dialogue for password, when I try to use the 'Update All' feature it prompts me for password with her ID, not mine.
If I go back to Apps and choose the Categories (or Top25) menu, at the bottom of the page, it shows me signed in (my Apple ID). If I try to update one Apps it will do ok. But if I try to Update All it will prompt me for password using her ID, waiting for me to type in HER password. I cannot change the Apple ID on that dialogue (static). If I use my password, it will return the "wrong password" dialogue.
How can I change the prompt for the Update All? What is going on here that I AM signed in but my iPod prompts me with her ID. My iPod is registered under my Apple ID. I have already tried the Hard reset by pressing Home and Power buttons simultaneously, to no avail. I am also using my own network to go Online. I am also with the latest OS in my iPod and my Mac's iTunes.
    Thank you!
PS This problem is not occurring in my iPhone 4 (same account) nor my Macs.

Does not work for me. (My iPhone is not jailbroken.)
I downloaded a paid app "Imray Marine Rules and Signals v1.5" in the USA with my original account (Account1) then moved countries and needed to create a new Apple account (Account2). If I get 'Info' for the app, it is registered to Account1.
A new version 1.6 of the Imray app has now been released.
I have set up only Account1 on the iphone (settings - App Store) and both Account1 and Account2 in iTunes on my computer. My iphone always tells me there is 1 app to update. However, when I try to update this app on my iphone, I get asked for the password for Account2, then the download fails as it says I do not have a paid earlier version to update.
When I am logged into my computer iTunes as Account1 and try to update it on the computer iTunes, it says there are no apps to update (although my version of the app is definitely the old version).
When I search for the app in iTune Store, it tells me I have already downloaded version 1.6 of the app and the download button is grayed out.
If I temporarily delete the app from my iTunes then try to re-download, I am asked to purchase it again.
If I log into iTunes as Account2 then try to download it, I am asked to purchase it.
Any ideas? I feel I have tried every option and no success.

  • Can't update iPhoto because of wrong Apple ID?

I have a client that just purchased iphoto for the iphone. Now his mac says he can't update the iphoto 9.1.5 on it because he's logged in with the wrong apple account? Anyone see this or have ideas? He's running a MacBook Pro with OS X.7.3.
The exact error message he's getting is from the App store:  "To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it.". The iphoto that's installed on his mac is from a site-licensed iLife CD that we have. No one else is reporting this problem so its got to be restricted to his machine.
Nothing shows up in the Software Updates either.
    Thanks,
    thefishyfew

Because the iPhoto was installed from Disk  you update via Software Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

  • IPhone won't activate after restore - says wrong apple ID/password

    Hi everyone,
I recently attempted to upgrade to the latest iOS on my iPhone 4. However there was an error, so my phone had to be restored. I did this, and was then prompted to activate my iPhone.
However it is claiming that I am using the wrong apple ID/password when I am not. I am able to log into My Apple ID online and have done so, and have changed PWs and fiddled around with it but it won't let me sign in!
    Can anyone help?

  • Apple pay wrong apple id

I am trying to set up the apple pay but it is defaulting to the wrong apple ID

    Hello tkerr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you're trying to set up Apple Pay on your iPhone.  To set up Apple Pay please follow the directions below.  If you're using the option to set up Apple Pay with the card on file with iTunes, it will use the iTunes account that is currently logged in to within your iPhone's settings.
Add the card that you already use for your iTunes Store account
On iPhone, if you don't have any cards or passes, tap Set Up Apple Pay. If you do have cards or passes, pull down your pass stack and tap  in the upper right corner. On iPad, tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
Select Use Card on File with iTunes.
Enter the security code for the credit or debit card you’re already using with iTunes.
Tap Next. Your bank will verify your information and decide if you can add your card to Apple Pay. If they need more information, you'll get instructions on how to provide additional verification. You can verify your card anytime after you've added it to Passbook. Just return to Passbook and follow the instructions.
After your card is verified, tap Next. Your card is ready for Apple Pay.
Add a new card using your device's iSight camera
On iPhone, if you don't have any cards or passes, tap Set Up Apple Pay. If you do have cards or passes, pull down your pass stack and tap  in the upper right corner. On iPad, tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
Select Use a Different Credit or Debit Card.
On the Card Details screen, tap .  You can also enter your card information manually.
Position your card in the frame to capture the card information.
Enter the security code and any other information that doesn't automatically appear.
Set up and use Apple Pay
    Cheers,
    Alex H.

  • When I click on my iPad App Store Updates, the wrong apple ID is showing up. When I go under settings the correct one is displayed under the app store.

When I click on my iPad App Store Updates, the wrong apple ID is showing up. When I go under settings the correct one is displayed under the app store.

Does the wrong Apple ID show up with a particular App or all Apps?
Apps are linked to the ID they were purchased with, so if you have Apps purchased with different IDs you may need to logout with one then log in with another to update the second one.
We've also seen were "free" Apps are downloaded from the Internet, but they are not really free but instead were just hacked by a different user so need to be updated with that account.  That can prevent updates.  If so, it's best to delete the bogus app and get a good copy from the App Store.

  • Trouble updating in app store. wrong apple id.

i am signed in with my apple id. when i try to update in the app store a different apple id (from the previous owner) is coming up. how do i remove the wrong apple id?

I have two AppleIDs, and also find this happening.
There is nothing much you can do.
When you download an app it is "registered" to the apple ID that downloaded it.
So if you update it you must do it with the AppleID that bought it.
There is no workaround, as it is coded into the app when you download it.
So you can either re-download the apps (and sadly sometimes re-buy) with the new ID.
Or just type in the password from the old ID when you update (which is what I do).
You can go to settings... Store.. scroll down and press the apple ID
log out and log in to the new account.
When you buy or download NEW apps they will be for the ID that you are logged in to.
When you update on the iPhone, it will just ask for the password of the other account.

  • Wrong Apple ID when Updating App in App Store

When I try to update some apps on my iPhone through the App Store, it's requesting the password for the wrong apple ID. The apple ID it is requesting the password for belongs to a family remember.
I tried the following suggested solution:
    1) Logout of App Store & iTunes
    2) Delete the app that is requesting credential for the wrong apple id when updating
    3) Go to App Store and reinstall the app using the correct apple ID
This solution only works temporarily. When in the future if the app has an update again, it's requesting the wrong apple id again.
I think one possible issue could be that I am syncing the iPhone to the same computer that of my family member.
*Please note, do NOT ask me to sync to another computer. This is not possible .All iOS devices in my family are manged, backed up, and sync on one computer.
*My iPhone is iPhone 4S running iOS 7
*Other iOS devices are iOS 8

You'e got a mess on your hands. Let's see if this helps.
First, that app, and possibly others that you might not have noticed, were downloaded with a different Apple ID that the rest of your apps. Of course, apps and other content are forever tied to the apple ID used to purchase or download them. You didn't say where you are deleting the app, but it sounds like you're doing so on the device, but not on the computer. If that's the case, when you sync with the computer, you may be replacing the app on the device with the other from a different Apple ID.
I would suggest deleting the app completely from ALL devices, including the computer. Be sure you are logged in with the Apple ID used to download all the other apps and get it again from the App store through iTunes on your computer. Then sync it back to all devices that use it.
In general, this can now mostly be avoided if all your devices run iOS 8. Read about Family Sharing: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/

  • HT204053 I accidentally entered the wrong Apple ID, since that time whenever I try to install app or download stuff, it pops up with tthe Apple ID which I accident

I accidentally entered the wrong Apple ID, since that time whenever I try to install app or download stuff, it pops up with tthe Apple ID which I accidently entered the last time and asked for password. So can anybody tell how to remove that out????

What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app ? You can tap on it and log out of it and you can then log in with a different account. But all content from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, so if any of the apps on your iPad were downloaded by the id that is showing then they will be tied to that id, so only that id will be able to download updates to those apps

What if someone else put my apple id email for there rescue email address and security  for their itouch but i accidently gave them a  wrong apple Id what can i do to hellp them and myself with this situation???

No need to get in touch with account security because they will only tell you what I'm about to tell you...
Just log into the appleid.apple.com website > sign in with his/her apple id > go to password and security in the left side > enter the security questions > and from there you can edit the rescue email.

  • Update section of the App Store saved a wrong Apple ID

    Hi all,
The update section of the App Store saved a wrong Apple ID, and i can't update any of my apps...
It is so weird because when I buy an app, the app store has saved my actual apple ID, but for updating apps it saved a wrong one, and it's impossible to change (even when I log out and log back in with my real apple ID)..
    thanks for the help
    eric

I'm having the same issue of trying to update existing applications on my iPhone (a different Apple ID than my own keeps popping up). I logged out of the App Store, then in again to ensure the Apple ID was my own. Still, in my attempts to update existing apps, a different Apple ID came up.
Interestingly, if I purchase a brand new app, my own Apple ID comes up as usual, and there is no problem with the new purchase.
Logging off the phone does not fix the issue. Restoring the phone also does not fix the issue. I have tried both.
Also, I have never used a computer other than my own to sync my phone. I have had the same Apple ID and password since day one.
No doubt it will be resolved in a future update. In the meantime, for those of us affected, there is an obvious delay in the ability to update existing applications, and all suggestions thus far for a "fix" do not actually fix the issue.
Looking forward to the fix, but happy nothing else seems to be wrong (at least for the moment!)

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
