Wrong Calendar Language!

I'm trying to make a calendar in English but the days of the week keep appearing in Japanese. I have gone to System Prefs/International/Formats-Regions-Language and everything is in order. I have repaired permissions, restarted my computer, disabled synchronizing with MobileMe, but nothing works.
The strange thing is that the calendar that I made last year (the album has remained on my Mac) has turned up in Japanese as well despite it being in English the last time I checked.
What can I do to create an English calendar?

Lisa:
First close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if that helps. If it doesn't it might be a font issue. Launch Font Book and make sure you have all required fonts installed and activated. The required fonts are listed in this Apple document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1642.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

N000295, I am afraid you will have to start all over again. There is no way to change the year of the already created photo calender.

  • Wrong supplement language implemented

    Hi All,
I have implemented wrong supplement language for polish...I implemented French instead of English.
Please help me to correct / change the supplement language to English.
    Thanks in Advance ...

    Hello,
    As per note 18601:
    9.  Q: Can I change the supplementation logic after I have defined it?
(French has been supplemented with German so far and should be
supplemented with English in the future.)
A: To avoid mixing the languages, this is not permitted.
    Regards,

  • Calendar Language

    Hello,
Is possible change the calendar language for another in Studio Creator 2?
    For example:
Month in default language(English) is June
I would like change the language to German... Juni
    Thanks!

You must change that from Winndows! In Control Panel, click Regional and Language Options, and in tab Regional options change to country you want.
I don't know another method, or one similar for Linux.
    Enjoy!

  • ICloud and Outlook 2013 - Wrong calendar is being synced, how to change?

    Hi all,
I have iCloud installed and running Outlook 2013 on my Windows 8 computer and I'm having an issue with syncing calendars.  I've looked all through the discussions and haven't seen an answer for my issue so hopefully someone can assist.
iCloud is installed correctly and under the iCloud section in Outlook, there is a calendar and it does sync with my iPhone 5 but it's the wrong calendar.  It's not the main calendar that is up in my list of folders for my email account.  I can't find a place to tell iCloud which calendar to sync with so I'm not sure how to go about getting the correct calendar - or both if need be - syncing with my phone.
    Thanks in advance!

Wouldn't that be a bit like asking Toyota to change their car design because it doesn't work with the wheels I wanted to add?
iCloud was built to provide a synchronization option and is claimed to work with Outlook.  Unfortunately it has a basic flaw that makes it almost unuseable by anyone that receives invitations via email, therefore it doesn't do what is claimed.
I'm sure it works great with the other Apple products. And maybe Apple doesn't care to worry about Microsoft, assuming that people will blame MS for this failing and buy a Mac.  That is a shame because, like it or not, Microsoft is still the 800lb gorilla in terms of office products.
Unfortunately you have entirely misunderstood iCloud, it is NOT a sync service, it is a subscription account that you can subscribe to with Outlook (amongst others). It does not sync your local calendar, instead you use the iCloud calendar.
It is Microsoft who chose this behaviour, not Apple (although this problem does not exist with Outlook for Mac), Microsoft chose to make that entirely incompatible with iCloud calendars and contacts, thus avoiding the issue

  • Wrong Calendar being updated - any ideas?

    Hi,
I'm running Blackberry Desktop V6 but when I synch (To Outlook on XP) it seems the wrong calendar is selected from the Blackberry. When I look on it, I see two calendars, one named as "Device Default" (15 calendar enties) and the other is effectively my email address, showing the main 244 entries on the BB. I can't get these 244 to synch to Oulook yet it does the 15 over and over. I've tried to change calendar deafult but it only shows the email address one and can't be changed. I almost feel the "device default" thing is getting in the way and that I was able to remove it the main synch would then work..
The other part to the story is that I am successfully synching email itself to/from Outlook Express. I use (Office)Outlook for my calendar enties.
    Am I missing something? Thanks

    Hey rhoddavies,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest following the steps in this KB article to merge your calendar:
    www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB19240
After this is completed then attempt to perform the synchronization.

  • How to change calendar language

I live in Switzerland so things like notes and calendar are automatically set up in German language. How can I change this?.

Go to the settings for Region and choose one where they speak the language you want these things to be in.

  • Exchange mailbox calendar language setting DUTCH

    Good day,
Are there known bugs related to the Ducht language and calendar settings ?
When creating a new mailbox the calender is called "Kalender" in Dutch. This should be "Agenda"
Now when running a new pst import a folder "Kalender" already exists and "Agenda" is created as an extra calendar.
I am in the proces of migrating several mailboxes to Exchange 2013 using pst imports of the old mailboxes. After every import the user has 2 calendars with different names !
    Any solutions ?
    Please see the screenshots:

    It's not a bug, it's a design failure...
Agenda is the correct Dutch translation for this and it was correct in Exchange for years. Now it was suddenly renamed and gave a lot of users and system administrators pain in the head...
The big question in this case is why? and will it be fixed?
Just like some other hard coded not documented features of exchange 2013...

  • Contacts Birthdays syncing to wrong calendar

I'm using a Blackberry Torch 9800 with 2 main email addresses (both gmails) being sync to it wirelessly. I created a contact from my phone (in gmail account 1) and keyed in the fields of the contacts including the birthdays. However, when I checked my calendars, the birthday entries were created under my gmail account 2 rather than my gmail account 1 which is supposed to be the case. I would like to keep my entries on gmail account 1 private as I use the other account for work purposes which is shared to a group of people. Could anyone help me on this? I tried googling all over but couldn't find any solutions to it... Thanks!

I would guess your blackberry is creating the birthdays under your "default" calendar which is Account 2.
To check which is your default calendar, go to Options - Device - Advanced System Settings - Default Services and check which account is assigned as default for Calendar (CICAL).

  • ICal - incoming Mail ICS invites go to wrong calendar - or go to no calendar

My default calendar invites coming in on email (most often through Lotus Notes or Outlook) aren't going to the correct calendar, even though I have my defaults set up.  I've reviewed some threads on this and there appears to be no easy resolution: it sounds like an ICS invite will go to the FIRST calendar in your calendar list, not the "default" (only invitations created manually seem to go there).   Since I have one "on my Mac" calendar , which always appears above  iCloud, incoming mail ICS invites always go there.  On Yosemite..  My scenario is:
    1) I have one "on my Mac" calendar that I use because there are many reminders I only really need when at the home iMac; otherwise my phone is popping up annoying reminders when my Mac is already doing that (and if Apple had more "sleep" options I wouldn't even have to do this!).
    2) In Mail, default calendar is "Work" (in iCloud).
    3) Creating new invitations from iCal work fine: they go to "Work" calendar.
    4) Any invitations auto-accepted by Mail, however, go to the On My Mac.  Thus the suggestion of ordering the calendars won't work unless I can get "on my Mac" below the set of iCal calendars, which doesn't seem possible.
So if there's a way to move "on my Mac" DOWN I guess that would fix it.  But really,  a default calendar is a default calendar: why would incoming Mail ICS invitations not use it??  Any resolutions?
On another note, the "Auto Accept" option in mail doesn't seem to work consistently.  I haven't tested this, but it may only be from Lotus Notes emails, of which I get a lot.
    Thank you,  Ron

    anyone seen this…?

  • ICal events are imported in the wrong calendar

    Hello,
I'm using iCloud for business as a temporary solution before moving to a more professional and stable tool.
Still, I'm confronted with annoying problems that are just making my work more difficult.
I'm posting here hoping that somebody would find or has a solution.
I have two iCloud calendars owned by me plus three more shared with me by colleagues.
The two owned by me are: Work and MeetingRoom, with the former being set as the default (both in the Calendar app preferences and in the iCloud Calendar web interface).
I'm trying to accept an invite to a meeting received from a non-iCloud user.
The invite came in the form of an .ics attachment to the email.
When doubleclicking on the attachment, Calendar app opens and an event entry colored in gray is created in the MeetingRoom calendar instead of my default one, which is Work.
What is the purpose of setting a calendar as default when the setting is ignored?
    Thanks
    Sergio

Thanks. I Think I've figured it out: there was a music file in the same project with an earlier creation date. When I transferred the recent footage to a new event, the new event displayed correctly, as a 2015 event.
This is stretching my old brain, but I think I'm slowly learning that Events are not bins!
