Wrong calendar

I gave my husband my Desktop mac, running snow leopard. I have a iphone and mobile me which I was syncing on that computer. He just bought a iphone and mobile me. Having a problem with my calendar syncing on his phone. On the computer, I did sign out of my mobile me account and itunes account. Why then, does my calendar instead of his, keep syncing on his phone?

any ideas?

N000295, I am afraid you will have to start all over again. There is no way to change the year of the already created photo calender.

  • ICloud and Outlook 2013 - Wrong calendar is being synced, how to change?

    Hi all,
I have iCloud installed and running Outlook 2013 on my Windows 8 computer and I'm having an issue with syncing calendars.  I've looked all through the discussions and haven't seen an answer for my issue so hopefully someone can assist.
iCloud is installed correctly and under the iCloud section in Outlook, there is a calendar and it does sync with my iPhone 5 but it's the wrong calendar.  It's not the main calendar that is up in my list of folders for my email account.  I can't find a place to tell iCloud which calendar to sync with so I'm not sure how to go about getting the correct calendar - or both if need be - syncing with my phone.
    Thanks in advance!
    Lauren

iCloud was built to provide a synchronization option and is claimed to work with Outlook.  Unfortunately it has a basic flaw that makes it almost unuseable by anyone that receives invitations via email, therefore it doesn't do what is claimed.
I'm sure it works great with the other Apple products. And maybe Apple doesn't care to worry about Microsoft, assuming that people will blame MS for this failing and buy a Mac.  That is a shame because, like it or not, Microsoft is still the 800lb gorilla in terms of office products.
Unfortunately you have entirely misunderstood iCloud, it is NOT a sync service, it is a subscription account that you can subscribe to with Outlook (amongst others). It does not sync your local calendar, instead you use the iCloud calendar.
It is Microsoft who chose this behaviour, not Apple (although this problem does not exist with Outlook for Mac), Microsoft chose to make that entirely incompatible with iCloud calendars and contacts, thus avoiding the issue

  • Wrong Calendar being updated - any ideas?

    Hi,
I'm running Blackberry Desktop V6 but when I synch (To Outlook on XP) it seems the wrong calendar is selected from the Blackberry. When I look on it, I see two calendars, one named as "Device Default" (15 calendar enties) and the other is effectively my email address, showing the main 244 entries on the BB. I can't get these 244 to synch to Oulook yet it does the 15 over and over. I've tried to change calendar deafult but it only shows the email address one and can't be changed. I almost feel the "device default" thing is getting in the way and that I was able to remove it the main synch would then work..
The other part to the story is that I am successfully synching email itself to/from Outlook Express. I use (Office)Outlook for my calendar enties.
    Am I missing something? Thanks

    Hey rhoddavies,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest following the steps in this KB article to merge your calendar:
    www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB19240
After this is completed then attempt to perform the synchronization.

  • Contacts Birthdays syncing to wrong calendar

I'm using a Blackberry Torch 9800 with 2 main email addresses (both gmails) being sync to it wirelessly. I created a contact from my phone (in gmail account 1) and keyed in the fields of the contacts including the birthdays. However, when I checked my calendars, the birthday entries were created under my gmail account 2 rather than my gmail account 1 which is supposed to be the case. I would like to keep my entries on gmail account 1 private as I use the other account for work purposes which is shared to a group of people. Could anyone help me on this? I tried googling all over but couldn't find any solutions to it... Thanks!

I would guess your blackberry is creating the birthdays under your "default" calendar which is Account 2.
To check which is your default calendar, go to Options - Device - Advanced System Settings - Default Services and check which account is assigned as default for Calendar (CICAL).

  • ICal - incoming Mail ICS invites go to wrong calendar - or go to no calendar

My default calendar invites coming in on email (most often through Lotus Notes or Outlook) aren't going to the correct calendar, even though I have my defaults set up.  I've reviewed some threads on this and there appears to be no easy resolution: it sounds like an ICS invite will go to the FIRST calendar in your calendar list, not the "default" (only invitations created manually seem to go there).   Since I have one "on my Mac" calendar , which always appears above  iCloud, incoming mail ICS invites always go there.  On Yosemite..  My scenario is:
    1) I have one "on my Mac" calendar that I use because there are many reminders I only really need when at the home iMac; otherwise my phone is popping up annoying reminders when my Mac is already doing that (and if Apple had more "sleep" options I wouldn't even have to do this!).
    2) In Mail, default calendar is "Work" (in iCloud).
    3) Creating new invitations from iCal work fine: they go to "Work" calendar.
    4) Any invitations auto-accepted by Mail, however, go to the On My Mac.  Thus the suggestion of ordering the calendars won't work unless I can get "on my Mac" below the set of iCal calendars, which doesn't seem possible.
So if there's a way to move "on my Mac" DOWN I guess that would fix it.  But really,  a default calendar is a default calendar: why would incoming Mail ICS invitations not use it??  Any resolutions?
On another note, the "Auto Accept" option in mail doesn't seem to work consistently.  I haven't tested this, but it may only be from Lotus Notes emails, of which I get a lot.
    Thank you,  Ron

    anyone seen this…?

  • ICal events are imported in the wrong calendar

    Hello,
I'm using iCloud for business as a temporary solution before moving to a more professional and stable tool.
Still, I'm confronted with annoying problems that are just making my work more difficult.
I'm posting here hoping that somebody would find or has a solution.
I have two iCloud calendars owned by me plus three more shared with me by colleagues.
The two owned by me are: Work and MeetingRoom, with the former being set as the default (both in the Calendar app preferences and in the iCloud Calendar web interface).
I'm trying to accept an invite to a meeting received from a non-iCloud user.
The invite came in the form of an .ics attachment to the email.
When doubleclicking on the attachment, Calendar app opens and an event entry colored in gray is created in the MeetingRoom calendar instead of my default one, which is Work.
What is the purpose of setting a calendar as default when the setting is ignored?
    Thanks
    Sergio

Thanks. I Think I've figured it out: there was a music file in the same project with an earlier creation date. When I transferred the recent footage to a new event, the new event displayed correctly, as a 2015 event.
This is stretching my old brain, but I think I'm slowly learning that Events are not bins!

  • Iphone is syncing with the wrong calendar in Outlook 2010

In Outlook, I have two calendars for the main account.  There is only one profile, so this is not a profile issue.  I am not sure how, but I have two calendars set up.
When I am in outlook and take an email, and select to make an appointment from that email, Outlook sets up the appointment in a calendar (For this purpose, I will call it calendar #1)
When I sync my iPhone, it will sync with the other calendar (calendar #2)
I tried to delete the calendar #1 and the option was greyed out.  It will let me delete Calendar #2, but I am wary of doing this, as I don't want to lose all my calendar items.
    Suggestions?

OK, so I deleted the calendar, and nothing changed.  Then I unchecked the box to sync calendars, in iTunes.
I sync'd, then checked the box again in iTunes to sync calendars, and then specifically checked the "selected calendars" and selected Calendar.
Voila, it worked.  I tested the input and syncing both ways and whether I input an item in the iPhone or Outlook, it does show up in the other.
So I solved it myself, but decided to post this so others would have access to this.

  • Printable Page Displays Wrong Calendar

Has anyone else seen this problem? When I'm in my calendar (week view) via UWC and I click on Printable it sometimes brings up a new window with someone elses calendar details. If I close the printable page and then go back to mail and back into calendar and try again I get my own calendar in the printable page.
Some of my users seem to be affected more than others....

    Hello again, Vikas,
You were so helpful the last time I wondered if you would help me with another problem.
Below are three photos. Photo #1 is the page as I designed it and as it appears in 'Design'.
Photo #2 is how #1 looks in 'Preview'. Note the text is the same but the image is different.
Photo #3 is later on in the series. It's as if 'Preview' for photo #1 stole the image from photo #3.
    Do you know what happened?
The photo below is the page in 'Design'
The photo below is in Preview. Note that the text is right but the photo is very different:
The photo below is a few pages later; below it is with its correct text:
In preview mode the page immediately above is correct.
If you wish to see the pages, they are as follows:
Photo #1 which is in my Design mode doesn't appear on the published site.

  • Syncing Calendar: wrong calendars appear in iTunes

Since upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain lion on my Powerbook (PB), I cannot sync Calendar (ICal)  with my IPod and IPad with Itunes.
It is as if my calendar identity is not recognized anymore in ITunes. Or a fantom identity has a hidden Calendar (that I cannot retrieve) on my PB.
    Problem:
I own 10 personnal calendars in Calendar: General, Assistance, Meunier travaux, Listes(undated)... etc
Those that show up in Itunes INFO when plugging in my IPad or IPod have completely different names: Personnel; Travail; Rappels (those are the default calendars of the french version of Calendar). They can be synced to my IPod and IPad. They countain no events.
    What I did or checked:
    -ICloud is inactive
-I resetted sync services a few times (by using ISync and by using the terminal)
-When I enter a new event on the IPad for example, syncing through ITunes seems to accomplish something on the PB. However, nothing changes on my PB calendars
-I created a Test User: he has no problems of syncing through ITunes.
Is there a way to have my "real" Calendars show up in Itunes ?
    Thanks.
PS I know I could use ICloud - but I do not wish to use ICloud for security reasons.

    My issue is solved !!!
After hours of testing with the Test User, trying different things read on the forum; following this procedure without success:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=hvkb&id=TS2481&agent=helpviewer
The only thing that changed is that some ofmy calendars finally appeared on my IPad - but the events where from an older Calendar (previous to the installation of ML). And when I changed the events on the IPad, the sync process seemed to take place in Itunes but nothing new was installed on my PB Calendar. The cache file or any files did not change in the Library/Calendar folder
However, 3 preferences files where updated on the PB
Seing that  then decided to put to the trash these 3 preferences files:
    com.apple.ical.plist
    com.apple.calendarAgent.plist
    com.apple.syncserver.plist
    And VOILA !
Sync by ITunes works like before ! (I was even able to sync to an android phone !!!)
    Ilenacan
while writing this message, I experienced a Mac crash - blue screen. Not any application running !
    Frightening  !!!!
I guess ML is not ready yet.

  • Wrong Calendar Language!

I'm trying to make a calendar in English but the days of the week keep appearing in Japanese. I have gone to System Prefs/International/Formats-Regions-Language and everything is in order. I have repaired permissions, restarted my computer, disabled synchronizing with MobileMe, but nothing works.
The strange thing is that the calendar that I made last year (the album has remained on my Mac) has turned up in Japanese as well despite it being in English the last time I checked.
What can I do to create an English calendar?

    Lisa:
First close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and see if that helps. If it doesn't it might be a font issue. Launch Font Book and make sure you have all required fonts installed and activated. The required fonts are listed in this Apple document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1642.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • ITunes 10.5 use the wrong outlook calendar

After updating iTunes to 10.5, i can´t sync my normaly calendar with iOS 5
iTunes will use an wrong calendar, only with birthdays

  • The listing of my calendars is gone

I know this has happened before, because I found (and have since lost) a thread on it. I have recently migrated back to ical/address book/etc. — all mac PIMs — and it's not going well.
The problem today is that, when I open iCal, it appears there's no data in it. But if I shift from, say, the "week" view to the "month" view (any new view does it), the data appears in the calendar window. But nothing I've tried shows the calendar names in the left hand vertical space marked "Calendars." The calendars exist, but the listing of them isn't — so I can't check any of them on, or off.
Also, I can't create any new items.
    Other possibly contributory/salient factors:
    * I'm using MissingSync.
    * I'm trying to use dot-mac, but it's not helping either.
    * One reason I switched is that we want a family calendar, synced by dot-mac. Now, my wife is having the same problem that I described above — calendar data, but no calendars shown on left.
    * The data on dot-mac is not a reflection of what's on my desktop.
    * The thread I lost advised me to trash the ical.plist file, and when I searched for it, I found I had two of them, due to some long ago saving of data whose history I forget.
** I've since deleted that recovered data.
** I also have trashed the plist file several times, with and without restarting a) iCal and b) the computer, to no effect.
Bummer, huh? Any ideas? Please, God, I don't want to have to migrate, again — I feel like Moses in the desert, wandering from Palm, to the Apple suite, to Entourage, and now, for today, back to the Apple suite.
    Please help.

I've got something similar going on with a client's two computers. We discovered that when the To Do List is visible, his calendar list disappears, though the events remain; also, the Day/Week/Month and Back/Next buttons at the top of the window are nonfunctional with the To Do List visible. Trashing the com.apple.ical.plist file will make things work temporarily, possibly because the default is to have the To Do list not visible. I think it's some corrupt sync data, because it's happening on both of his computers.
Another issue: a few of his events are the wrong color. When you look at the event detail, the correct calendar/color is there, but on the calendar view (day or week or month) it's the wrong color and when you highlight the event, the wrong calendar is highlighted in the calendar list.
I'll post back if I can solve this. Please post if your problem is also related to the To Do list.

  • ICal: Changing the assigned calendar of an event sends out a new invite to all participants

    iCal version 5.0.3:
I have multiple accounts set up (iCloud, shared, Exchange) in iCal.
I've noticed that when I receive an invite that is assigned to the wrong calendar (e.g. to my icloud calendar) and I then change the assigned calendar to the Exchange calendar, iCal actually sends an invite to all the attendees with me as the organizer of the event!
Instead of just changing the assigned calendar in my iCal, it creates a new invite on the new calendar from me to all the invitees.
This seems to be new behaviour (bug) in version 5, as I can't remember this happening in earlier versions. It stopped being funny when it just did this with a company-wide HR event to all employees
My default calendar is set to the Exchange account, but iCal seems to ignore that ever so often when adding new invites
Any ideas on how to prevent this, or do i have to wait for an update to iCal?

    Hi Chris,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I often do the same thing (ie create an event in the wrong calendar). Are you aware that the assigned calendar appears in the info pane. You could simply select the correct calendar there, even reassign events.
I understand the desire to do this with Quickeys, though I suspect very few people here use Quickeys. So if you don't get an answer here I'd suggest you consider the Quickeys forum: http://forum.cesoft.com/

  • Change default calendar in iCal?

I have two google calendars which sync properly with iCal. However, the wrong calendar is on top (listed alphabetically). When I enter a new event from iCal, the default is to go to the wrong calendar. How can I switch them, or convince iCal to only add events to the second one?

In the left sidebar of iCal ensure the calendar you wan to add events to is selected. Unfortunately, you can't rearrange the Google calendars in iCal.
