Wrong colors when printing to HP Colorlaser Jet 4550 PCL 5c

I just upgraded from Labview 5.1.1 to Labview 6.1 on a Windows 95 Compaq Notebook. All the plot colors in 8 plot XY Graph indicator printed correctly on our network HP Colorlaser Jet 4550 PCL 5c using Labview 5.1.1. When I print the graph in Labview 6.1, sometimes some of the plot colors in the graph are wrong. In fact one of the plot switches color about 2/3 of the way across the X-axis. What is really weird is that the plot colors always print correctly in the legend. The VI prints the graph programically, but I also get the same inconsistent results when I copy the XY Graph to a new VI and use the print window comand in the file menu.
In my Labview preferences I use standard printing with colors and di
thering is turn on. The colors are correct when I programically save the front panel to either bmp, jpeg, or png files.
What causing this strange behavior?

Greg,
Thanks for your suggestion; however, it did not solve the problem. I set the line thickest to the maximum. Then I tried with and without dithering. The results were still inconsistent. Sometimes I got the correct colors; othertimes, some plots had the wrong colors. I attached two gif files as examples. The first shows the correct colors. The second shows that the 1st plot is yellow instead of blue. Also the 4th plot is green instead of red for the 1st 80% of the plot. Then it switches to the correct color, red. I have other graphs with different plots with the wrong colors. Notice that the colors in the legend are always correct.

  • Wrong colors when printing PDF in Draft Mode Printing (Win)

    I am using Acrobat to print my contact sheets from the Print module (Windows). If I use the "Draft Mode Printing" in LR, colors in the resulting PDF are way off. Any idea what the settings in Acrobat should be, to obtain correct colors? I have tried many combinations in the "Adobe PDF Conversion Settings", especially in the "Color" tab, but with no success.
    Note that colors in the resulting PDF are correct instead when I disable the "Draft Mode Printing" from LR.

    No I did not build 1:1 previews first. The point of using the draft print is to me to do quick, so would rather not build any 1:1 preview. Anyway, I don't believe I got what you wrote: if I do not build the 1:1 preview, what is the color space of the print output in Draft Mode?

  • Help: wrong colors when playing a iDVD in a domestic deck (plays ok on MAC)

    Hi there:
    For some reason, after burning a DVD using the iDVD 5.0.1 software all I get is wrong colors when playing it in ANY DVD player. If I watch the very same disk on my G5 Mac, everything turns out ok!
    Is it a codec problem?? It seems this problems sudenly began AFTER I installed the Final Cut Pro on my disk.
    Any help on this would be highly apreciated, please!
    Thanks in advance!
    Rui.

    What is your workflow?
    Source material? DV I imagine? Something analog through a converter?
    What are you editing with? FCP?
    How did you output from your editing program? In other words, what did you bring into iDVD? Don't just say a QuickTime file... is it a DV QT file? Try sending this file back to tape and see what happens.
    There is something funky in your workflow. I dont think it's an iDVD issue. As example, I edit in DV, NTSC. My preset in FCP is for DV, NTSC. I output from FCP as a DV QT reference file. I could send this same sequence back to tape. I am going to guess that somewhere/somehow, you are losing or masking the color channel. But this is getting a bit beyond my meager knowledge and just a guess at that. For the short term I would print your sequence back to tape. Assuming that the tape plays back correctly, import from the new tape and create a DVD using that sequence and see what happens.

  • Different Colors when printing from Photoshop and InDesign CS3

    Different Colors when printing from Photoshop and InDesign CS3
    I have the following problem:
    When printing from Photoshop or InDesign to a PostScript printer, Adobe recommends to let Photoshop handle the colors (I use the German version, so I don't know the exact term used, it changes slightly in all CS3 apps anyway).
    The manufacturer however told me to let the PostScript printer handle the colors.
    When I chose this option in Ps's print dialog and then choose ISO Coated as the printer pfofile, the results are fine.
    But when I place the exact same image in an InDesign file and print from InDesign or export to PDF and print via Acrobat, again using "Printer handles colors", the results are the exact same as if I had used Ps and chosen to let Ps handle the colors (way too saturated and a bit too red).
    ·Photoshop CS3
    ·InDesign CS3
    ·Test image is a TIFF in CMYK Fogra 27 Coated (which is also the working color space in Ps and ID.
    ·Printer: Xerox Docucolor 3535
    ·Printer profile: ISO Coated
    How can I make sure the printer handles the colors in other CS3 apps than Ps? I tried it with ID's print dialog (translated from the German version: Color Management > Options > Color Handling: PostScript-printer decides colors).
    Thanks a lot!

    RE: "You don't indicate what Xerox printers you have"
    In my first post I named it, is that the information you need?
    Docucolor 3535 using Splash 3535
    That's interesting, so I have to find a way to turn off the printer's Color Management function? I mailed them, hope they can tell me how to do it easily. They usually just tell me to not use any profiles and so on, but that's the general rule in this area, I'm really tired of hearing it. Everybody seems to think profiles and LAB mode are nuclear science and I should stay away from it.
    Anyway, the test image I'm using is a simple photograph (size A3, 300dpi), so no transparencies at all. I'm placing this image into an equally large ID file and print it from ID, then export it to PDF-X/3 and print it from Acrobat. Hope that helps.

  • Separator page prints out with wrong name when printing from Outlook 2010

    Working with Windows 7 Enterprise, Outlook 2010.  We've set up our desk printers to print a separator page with the user's name, as several people use the same printers in our building.  Printing from IE, Word, etc. all work fine, and it'll print
    out the correct username on the separator page.
    When anyone attempts to print an Outlook email, it instead prints out my username.  We've found that it doesn't happen if they click on the "quick print" button, but it happens every time if they do "file > Print" or Ctrl+P.

    Hi
    As per the information and details provided by you that separator page prints out with wrong name when printing from Outlook 2010, please follow these steps: -
    To create a custom separator page file, use a text editor such as
    Notepad. On the very first line, type one single character, and then press
    Enter. The character on this line defines the character used as an escape character. For example, the following list assumes that this character is the at sign (@).
    Enter the escape codes for the functions you want, and then save the file with an .sep extension in the Windows System32 subfolder.
    In the Print Manager, select the printer that you want to use the separator page file with, and then click
    Choose Properties on the Printer menu.
    Click
    Details, specify the name of the desired separator page file in the
    Separator File box, and then click OK.
    Note:
    Put the custom separator page file in one of the following locations:
    In the %Windir%System32 folder.
    In a folder whose path contains a SepFiles folder. For example:
    Drive:\Folder\SepFiles\Subfolder
    I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi  - Go ahead and try the steps in this document.  It will walk you through cleaning the contacts on both the cartridge and in the carriage.  What can happen over time is ink residue can accumulate on the contacts preventing the ink cartridges from working properly.  If this doesn't resolve the issue, try setting the cartridge with the nozzles face down on a damp paper towel for about 45 seconds just to resolve any problems with the ink nozzles.
    Hope that helps.

  • Faded colors when printing from Acrobat - different than previous

    Hi
    I have read some threads about color fading when printing a PDF created in ID and printed from Acrobat. My problem is the same and I am also having the same problem with PDF's exported from Keynote (client created posters). It sounds like I should work with the PDF optimizer for the solution. Has anyone experienced the fading colors from anything other than ID or Quark made PDF's? Did the optimizer fix the problem? I find it frustrating that I can print directly from ID and not have a problem - why can't they all get along!  ;0)
    Using Acrobat 9, Keynote 09 and an Epson 9880 printer.
    Thanks

  • Pages have wrong color when published

    Hello, I have been trying to publish a site with iWeb, and everything is going fairly well except for the following problem: Some of the pictures publish with the wrong colors (greens show up as pink, among other things). The rest of the pictures publish normally. They are all jpgs, all of which I moved into iWeb from the media browser.
    Anybody know what's up? Anybody having color issues upon publish? I am working from a macbook on this project.
    dual 2.0 G5 and G4 P'book   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    I think what is happening is that your JPGs are being converted to PNG by iWeb. And the particular images that are having color shifts do not have the right color information and that's why it shifts when converted to PNG by iWeb.
    Try this... you need to make your JPGs the exact size that you will be using them at in iWeb, or at least capture a PNG that has the correct color info. The easiest way to do this is to have iWeb open to that page and then take a screenshot of the image in iWeb. Use Apple-Shift-4 to draw a rectangle around the image. Then bring this image back into iWeb. Then publish. You should see an improvement in color.

    Good afternoon.  The color is WAY off when printing photos.  Am using an HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One.  Colors appear somewhat muted, as well as having too much red and yellow.  Have tried adjusting color, but then photo definition is lost.  Do photo pixels have anything to do with color quality?

  • Issues w/ color when printing with a layered background

    Hello,
    I have designed a page in Illustrator that was intended for the web, and now the company wants print outs for a trade show.
    I have a multi-layered background,  and when printing off a laser printer, the greys are awful and streaky. I have a feeling it's because I've got dark grey layered over light grey over green (see pic), but what can I do to fix it? The client wants the background this way, but I'm not sure about the mechanics of it, I just know that it looks awful when printed.
    Thanks for any help!
    Jen

    It's going to be tough to match the RGB work you've done for the web and laser printers are a challenge.  You might have to rebuild the file or convert the colors to CMYK.  The grays will probably be the easy part ( 20%, 45% ), but the dark greenish blue will have to be remixed ( i.e., 100C, 18.5M, 0Y, 51K ).  I think you could use the existing elements, but you might have to expand them or divide them.  You should avoid layering or overlaying, just work with a flattened .ai file and see if that prints any better.  Raster elements, transparency, and layering effects are better handled via a Postscript 3 RIP + PRINTER.  If your laser is non-postscript and does not have a RIP ( raster image processor ), then the color will be problematic.  If you will be printing the sheets for the tradeshow using the laser, then whatever you mix will be able to be proofed ( by eye, I assume ) internally.  If you go outside and use a Kinkos or something, then color should be proofed using a contract proofer at your local prepress shop before sending it out to be printed.

  • How to disable some color when printing separations in Ai CS6-CC (JS)

    Hello Everyone!
    Configuration: Win 7 Pro x64, Illustrator CS6x64-CCx64, default printer PDF.
    When printing separations from Illustrator CS4 following script prints all colors except Cyan (as was intended).
    But when printing from CS6-SS disable the color is not possible - all colors are printed without exception.
    var adoc = activeDocument;
    var o = new PrintOptions();
    o.colorSeparationOptions = new PrintColorSeparationOptions();
    o.colorSeparationOptions.colorSeparationMode = PrintColorSeparationMode.HOSTBASEDSEPARATION;
    o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList = adoc.inkList;
    for (var i = 0; i < o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList.length; i++) {
    if (o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList[i].name == 'Process Cyan') {
      o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList[i].inkInfo.printingStatus = InkPrintStatus.DISABLEINK;
    adoc.print(o);
    If you check, you have inkInfo.printingStatus Cyan changed to "InkPrintStatus.DISABLEINK".
    Why it is printed and how to disable?
    Thanks!

  • No color when printing on pcl5 driver for canon iR 2880i

    I have a problem printing from SAP (both sapscript and forms) to Canon iR 2880i using PCL5.
    No color is printed, only grayscale and images in forms are also not correctly printed.
    I have tried few SAP drivers, delivered by canon and also SAP. (HP color pcl5 drivers)
    I did also have the same problem with HP color 3800 printer but there I could solve the problem by using POST2 postscript driver, but the canon printer does not have postscript emulation installed.
    I have both tested with access methods C and U but not via sapsprint. Frontend color printing works fine with the printer but I need this for background printing.
    So it looks like this is a problem with PCL5 drivers in general.
    Can anyone help me with this and give me troubleshooting tips.
    Regards
    Sindri

    Hello Sindri,
    We had exactly the same problem with our Canon copiers IRC 2880i. We contacted both Canon and SAP several times without success. No drivers we received from them can print in colors.
    What we did to solve our problem:
    We installed SAPSPRINT on our print server and configured all printers in SAP with Print method S.
    In this case a windows driver is use and we can print in colors on every type of printers.
    Please note that if you don't have a print server you can install sapsprint on a simple windows computer and define your Canon 2880i printer on this host.

  • Wrong dimensions when printing forms

    Hi there!
    I know, I know, no one should be printing forms and killing trees but, you know, the client is always right...
    So, this client is creating forms in LC Designer and part of these forms (around 300) will be printed.
    They are very picky when it comes to milimetric precision, so they need the printed versin to be exactly the size they define in LC Designer.
    Now, when printed, the forms do not keep the right size, even when setting the proportion as 100%.
    Is there a way to fix this?
    Thank you very much for any ideas!

  • Selecting size of photo when printing on HP Office Jet 6500A from an Ipad

    Hi, I have just setup my Printer and tried to print a photo from an Ipad, the prints are only coming out in A4 full page size. I have searched the User Guide and cannot find any reference as to how I can print them out in any sizes, I would like to print in Postcard size. Can someone assist please. Many thanks.

    Hello KenA! Here's a link to an HP printing article on printing from an Apple iPAD:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02784317&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang...
    Take note:
    With AirPrint, you do not have the option to select different paper sizes. Paper and media sizes are automatically selected depending on the application you are using on your Apple device, your HP ePrint product, and the region in which you are using AirPrint.
    For example, from Apple’s Photo application, if the HP ePrint product has a separate photo paper tray, AirPrint will use 4x6 inch photo media as the default paper size. If the product does not have a separate photo paper tray, AirPrint will use letter-size paper. If you are printing from Apple’s Safari browser, letter-size paper will be the default paper size in the US region, and A4 will be the default paper size in Europe.
    If you are using the HP Eprint center:
    All photos e-mailed with HP ePrint will print at a default size of 4 x 6 inches (101.6 x 152.4 mm).
    If your HP ePrint-enabled printer does not have a separate photo paper tray, just make sure that photo paper is the only paper loaded in the tray when printing photos.

  • Problem in colors when printing

    I use a canon ip6000 printer. And of course iphoto 6. Recently I have encountered a most baffling and frustrating problem for the first time in using iphoto for several years: When I print my photographs, always the colors are just wrong, always with way too much magenta/red that take over the image. I have tried everything I could think of. I made sure that the printer was set to take photo paper, that the ink was in the right position. What's stranger, is that Iam almost sure that it is internal within iphoto and not the printer, because when I printed on preview (on regular paper I might add), the colors were perfectly correct. This is my first post, and I really hope someone has a solution. Thank you in advance.

    I'm glad it worked for you. I hope you are happy with the results.
    I have another tip if you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, which is to open your image in Photoshop, and use Levels. Set the Output slider to 12. Save the image to the desktop, then Import into iPhoto, then print.
    I found this somewhere on the internet, but unfortunately I cannot remember the site. It was about having iPhoto books printed and how the images seem to be darker.
    I tried it for inkjet prints and I found that it solved the solid black painted effect in the shadow areas.
    But … you do need a copy of either Photshop or Photoshop Elements. PS Elements is worth it because you can do so much more fine tuning of your images. However, some photos are so good straight from the camera and iPhoto is great for quick and easy prints. There should be no need for an additional program just because of the tendency for iPhoto overdo the black ink. Otherwise, I get the best screen/print colour matching from iPhoto compared to anything else.
    I agree totally that we should be able to use iPhoto without the need to print from other applications, even if it is only Preview. We shouldn't need to find workarounds. I will submit my feedback on this too.
