Wrong count of 'messages read' in user statistics

I added up all the messages from all the forums. Total: 489 messages.
According to 'my' statistics, so far I have already read: 2020 messages.
Slight discrepancy. Explain please.
Looks like everytime I open a thread, the posts get added to my total. HUMBUG.

I agree.
The accounting for some of the stats may seem inflated - perhaps it is a setting, perhaps the way the software platform may give you credit for all the messages in a thread rather than just the incremental ones. We will investigate.
Hopefully most users will focus on the content, and won't get too wraped up in this aspect. I suspect it catches your eye due to your particular specialty - you have a keen eye for how well the application itself runs.
Keep kicking the tires.

Read only user in weblogic throwing error messages in logs

Hi,
We have a requirement to create a read only user with monitor access.
our requirement is to monitor em console using moniotr user, i.e. this user will login to em console, monitor order flow from instances tab by entering order no. and dates, and logout from em console.
we have done below steps to create monitor user,
Admin Console->Security Realms >myrealm >Users and Groups-> new
created user Monitor_User_1 and assigned group as Monitors.
but whenever this user logs in or searches we are getting below error message:

we even did below steps:
With admin access login into EM Console. Select soa_infra, right click mouse -> Security -> Application Roles. On right side, click green arrow and see list of Roles shown. Select the role named SOAMonitors, click on this. And add a Monitor_User_1 to this.
but we are still getting same error.
Kindly let us know if we are missing something while creating monitor user and how to get rid of these messages.
Please note that we are already in Production and our log files are filled with these messages.

Message reads 'wrong size paper'. it's not.

HP officejet 6500A plus on a windows 7 computer. prints fine using the copier function but when trying to print a page from the computer the paper jams and the message reads 'paper jam or wrong size paper'. it's standard 8-1/2 x 11 white paper. printing problem started about a week ago. nothing new on the computer. i've rebooted the printer and the computer with no improvement.

more information. i reinstalled the software. no change. i tried to print a test page. didn't work. i printed a diagnostic page and that DID work. the information wasn't helpful but it did come off the computer which i haven't been able to do.

Firstly many appologies I have given you slightly duff information here, I had been editing the file above for email notification texts not logon / password texts.
The file you need is actually a portal .par file and can be found in the deployment/pcd directory. The file you need is called com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par (with a .bak extension at this time).
You need to copy this file to a local machine and unzip the contents. The files you need to edit are contained in a further jar file which can be found in the \PORTAL-INF\lib directory - it is called umelogonbase.jar. It too needs to be extracted and the file you need to edit is logonMessages_xx.properties (where the xx is the language code you are using).
In this file you will find lines like:
NUMERIC_REQUIRED=Invalid new password (must contain digits)
You need to identify which texts you wish to modify and edit the text to the right of the equals sign. Once complete rezip the umelogonbase.jar file and then the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par (this time name it without the .bak extension. Then logon to the portal and upload the new par and you should see your new logon messages.

STATISTICS IO: Scan Count vs Logical reads

I'm doing som performance research, I have a index with following priority: ClientId, Active, ProductId. Active is a bit field telling whether the Product is active or not, it can be inactive products than active, but always at least one active product.
When I'm executing
SELECT * FROM [table] WHERE ClientId = [id] AND ProductId IN (1,2,3,5,7,9,20)
I'm getting following result: Scan count 1, logical reads 490
When I'm leading SQL Server to the right paths by including the to possible values in Active by executing the following SQL:
SELECT * FROM [table] WHERE ClientId = [id] AND ProductId IN (1,2,3,5,7,9,20) AND Active IN (0,1)
I'm getting following results: Scan count 14, logical reads 123
With this information, which version would you say is fastest and why?
When I was running this query 1000 times with different ClientId I got a average time of 172 ms for the first query, and 155 ms for the second one. I have been told that scan count is very expensive... out of this example it seems that the cost of 1 scan count is like 20 logical reads?

Typically the pages are forced out of buffer (DBCC DROPCLEANBUFFERS) when doing such a measurement:

Unity reporting wrong number of messages

This is Unity Connection 8.6.2.
I have a couple of VM boxes with wrong number of messages. Users are getting false indications of messages on their phones as well.
We rebuilt one these VM boxes and the issue is gone on that extension. Rebooting the server didn't fix it.
Any idea what would cause this?

We found that someone changed the Aging Policy for the users set to Do Not Age Messages. This caused the system to keep deleted messages for over 2 years. We set them back to Default System Policy and the number is back to a normal level.

User statistics for twitter apps?

I'm looking for download statistics for twitter apps, or preferably user statistics for how many people uses the iphone for reading or writing twitter status messages on a daily basis. Any ideas on where I can start looking?

Message reader problems after Microsoft Apps insta...

My previous thread was delete due to forum rules infringment.
I describe here again my problem, hoping to have a solution and considering that the problem I faced was not my fault, but it happened after a Nokia official update downloaded via Ovi Suite.
On 15th of April I've installed the Microsoft Apps and after my C6-01 reboot I found that the application "message reader" does not work anymore (tapping on the blue icon in the homescreen had no effect).
The only way to use the message reader was going in the incoming SMS folder, select a message anoose "LISTEN" from the menu. In this way the reader works.
Some days ago someone in this forum suggested me to remove the configured mailbox and try; in this way the reader came back to life and worked again, but if I add a mailbox the problem come back and the reader is malfunctioning again. So the only way to have this application working is removing any mailbox from my C6-01.
Therefore, considering that this problem occurred after an official update from Nokia and not for an user's error, I would like that Nokia tell me how to solve this malfunction.

After the first time I installed Micro$oft App$ I did a deep reset pressing the four keys as described in a web site I've found. After this procedure my C6-01 rebooted without many applications, so I have connected it to Ovi Suite and restored the firmware. The result was a "brand new" and perfect phone, until the new installation of M$ Apps on 11th of April :-(
So we are three Nokia users with the same problem... and we will faithfully wait for a fix ;-)

I am having some trouble with receiving messages from iMessage users when I don't have my iMessage turned on. When I called for support, I spent 30 min waiting and the woman's response to me was "Turn on your iMessage." I prefer not to use it

I have an iPhone 5s and a MacBook Pro. Ever since I updated my computer software to Yosemite, it linked my Apple ID with my phone number and I am not receiving messages from iMessage users on my phone, but rather to my computer. I don't like to use iMessage so I keep it off and would like to receive all messages as SMS texts. I have already tried changing my Apple ID password, logging off of my Apple ID in iMessage on my phone and turning it off, and changing settings on messages on my computer. Nothing is working. Either the messages continue to go to my computer or the messages trying to be sent say they cannot be sent.
After spending 30 + minutes waiting for technical support, the woman helping me (who did not give me her name) told me I should just turn on iMessage. After explaining that I don't like having iMessage on and asking why it worked for at least a year up until this point she said "things change and sometimes we don't know why things do what they do". She asked me about various other things on my phone such as bluetooth and told me to turn on and off airplane mode and the call disconnected. I have not been contacted since, even though she has my phone number.
I am hoping for some help and also hoping people don't get the type of service I received tonight.

I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
On iPhone:
Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
On Mac:
Open "Messages" application
Click "Messages menu > Preferences
Click "Accounts"
Select your AppleID account
Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble. If it's green then you are using SMS.

Still can't receive messages from Iphone Users

I know there are many topics asking similar questions if it's googled, and I think I have read through almost all of them to no prevail. I know veterans of these boards probably get tired of seeing the same topics, but im desperate and will try to keep it quick. I really appreciate any help.
I recently upgraded from a 4S to a Galaxy S5 and have not been able to receive messages from Iphone users since. I still have my old Iphone. Here are the steps I've tried:
1) Ensure "IMessage" is disabled in my old phone
2) Unregistered my phone number with my Apple ID. I currently have no phone numbers registered with them
3) Changed my Apple ID Password
4) Unregistered my Iphone with my ITunes Account.
5) I also have a Macbook Air and a 2010 model IMac. I have also ensured I am signed out on those devices and my phone number isn't linked in anyway I could find.
6) I called Apple 3 Days ago and the representitive was very nice and professional but ultimately was incorrect. He advised me that the new IoS7 is more advanced and should check about every 12 hours to see if the user on the other end has an active IMessage account. He said to wait 24 hours just to be safe. He also advised people running older IOS systems could take up to 3-4 days to contact me correctly. Furthermore he said if after that time frame their phones still sent me IMessages instead of SMS then THEY were having problems and should call Apple. I just really doubt that is the case.
I have tested it out with 5 Iphones now with help from some friends, all running IOS7 and still no luck 3 days after the phone call to Apple.
7) I tried logging back into IMessage today on my Macbook and it worked, I was still able to send and receive texts from Iphone users. This seems like it should not be possible since it is not linked to my phone number anymore. It is logged into the same Email that I used to have linked to my phone number.
Now as others have said, If I have them hold down the bubble and send as text message 3 times their phone will remember and keep sending my texts, however that is unreasonable to ask everyone to do. There should just be a way to completely delete your Apple ID. Is there anything I'm possibly overlooking? I really appreciate any help.

I am right there with you. This describes my problem to a T. Only other issue I am having is group texts. Iphone users who include me in a group text still send as imessages as well, so even if I text them first and they reply, it send as an imessage. Get it together apple.
