Wrong factory calendar assignment to plant
Hi,
We define new plant in customizing and assign a factory calendar ( table T001W ).
I have wrongly assigned a factory calendar BE to German plant in customizing system and moved to changes to production system. Now I want to change this factory calendar from BE to DE in customizing, but the field is greyed out.
Kindly advice.

Abhijit

Hi,
Open Enterprise Structure-Define, copy-Logistics - General-delete, check plant-Define Plant-select your plant and open in detail view-click on Table view from your header and select Displaay-changes.Now you can see your factory calender as editable.

Factory Calender assigned to Plant & resource/Work center
Hello,
If we have assigned the Factory Calender "XX" which has 5 working day(Monday to Friday) with no Special rules & no Holiday Calender to Plant & "YY" Factory Calender to Work center which has 365 days working with no no Special rules & no Holiday Calender. Now, when MRP creates Planned Orders for FERT material It did not create it on Weekends(i.e. on Saturday & Sunday) though the factory calender assigned is "YY" (which has 365 days working )in work center. Why?
Actually it should have consider the Work center assigned Calender for Capacity planning & Schedulling purpose.
If I assign the Factory Calender "YY" to plant then it will create the procurement proposal on weekends which is not acceptable to external procurement MRP Controller as plant office works only 5 days.
Please guide.Dear
Goto CR02/03 , select the Capacity tabe "hat" and u will fined there is tabe "Available Capacity " .U have to maintain the Active version ok.
Basically , the active version is used for scheduling and capacity planning. If you have not entered an active version, the standard available capacity is used, even if an available capacity version has been entered.
At the same u have to check out the below requirement :
you must maintain the following data in the capacity header:
1.The grouping, that defines which shift sequences and shift definitions can be used to maintain the available capacity
2.The number of the active version of available capacity
3.The base unit of measure of the available capacity
3.The factory calendar, that is the basis of the available capacity-Workcentre
If you do not enter a factory calendar , the system uses the default calendar for the plant.
I hope in your case , u have the shift sequence of 5 work days for the calander you have assinged in work centre .
Please check all those n come back .
Reward points if usefull.

How to set 2 factory calendar in 1 plant?
Now I setup 1 factory calendar and assign to plant and it contains 5 workday (Monday-Friday) per week.
In the future , For 1 plant we want to separate into 2 production lines and the workday are different. What should I do?
Sample of different workday
Production 1 , workday are 1-15 of each month
Production 2 , workday are Monday-Friday
Look forward to hear any suggestion.Dear DB49
Thanks for you recommendation,Could you please tell me which parameter I have to set in OPU5?
Now I set parameter as below detail but it still have problem about basic date in planed order.
Parameter in OPU5
Detail Scheduling -> SelID:Detailed = 01
Scheduling = Checked
Generate capacity reqs. = Checked
Scheduling level = Via Detailed Scheduling
Adjust dates = Adjust basic dates, adjust dep. reqmts to operation date
For capacity scheduling = Always basic dates, dep.reqmts to operation dates
Scheduling type = Backwards
Reduction type = All operation in the order will be reduced
Maximum reduction level = Do not reduce
Example
I set 3 working days on factory calendar (Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday)
PIR -> requirement date 18.10.2010
Total Operation time = 5 Days (from tcode c203)
When run MPS (MD40/MD41) with scheduling = Lead Time Scheduling and Capacity Planning
Planned order
Basic Dates Production Dates
Finish 18.10.2010 20.10.2010
Start 05.10.2010 05.10.2010
Why basic finish dates is not equal 20.10.2010?

Change Factory Calender assigned to Plant
Dear All,
Currently I have assigned Calender 01 (05 days working) to a plant. Now I want to switch to Calender 02 (All Days Working) & want to assign the same to Plant.
What will be the implications in system transactions if I change calender assigned to plant ?
Please share your views if already caome across such situation.
Regards,
RakeshNo as such change. after assigning the new factory calendar, when you will run MRP they the exixting orders will be re-scheduled. Since you are changing from 5 working days to 7 working days , no such problem in SAP you will find. But the reverse may create change the planning scenario.
Go ahead.
Warning: The new factory calendar should have the same valid start date as of before. Otherwise if any pending PR/PO exists in the system which are pending will create a lot of problem and hampered in MRP. I have faced the issue once upon a time.
Don't forget to give point if the purpose is solved.
Thanks

Hi Gurus,
Can anybody please exaplain me the following. We are now running our plant in terms of production process 7 days a week. All these days the the 5 day factory calendar was only assigned. Now the business is wanting to assign the 7 day factory calendar. Here are my questions and this calendar is only for 1 plant.
1) Is there a plaace specifically for each module where the calendaar gets assigned, like sperately for MM, PP etc. Or everything is the same?
2) Where do we assign the new calendar to the plant? Is it in the plant definition in config? or is there a separate place in config for PP modiule only. Please clarify this
Thanks
ANushaDear,
Better change 5 days and 4 days calander to 7 days in SCAL.
Else In OX10 , CR02 change to 7 days. IF plant maintenance not working for 7 days then don't change it.
Do i need to make change on all work centers related to production along with OX10 or what?.
YES
Hope clear to you.

Hello,
I have recently discovered that we are using the wrong factory calendar for both SD and PM. The wrong one may have been used to generate the scheduled work hours in HR too. We have 2 different custom calendars that need to be used - neither is currently used. One was designed for our 24/7 treatment plant operations. The other was for designed for HR, SD, and equipment with maintenance that is on a typical M-F, excluding holidays. Our current configuration is that all equipment is in one plant.
Would there be any issues switching the calenders in SPRO for SD and PM? After reading many other forum posts, I understand that only one calendar may be assigned to a plant. Is there any problems with using a different calendar in the maintenance plans than the plant calendar?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.Hi YM,
The calendar would be assigned to the plant in Logistics and in SD for the sales organization. With only one calendar to be able to be used, we would be selecting the one with the M-F, excluding holidays. Ironically, PS already uses the correct calendar.
Based on your reply, it would be best to just use one calendar and not allow the maintenance plans to use a different one.
When the plant and sales organization calendars are changed via SPRO, will this create any problems other than having to change the current maintenance plans to use the new calendar?
Thanks. -
Factory Calendar issue in creation of Sales Order/ Delivery Order
Hi all,
There is one issue. Our user is not able to create Sales Order/ delivery order as he is getting the below error message u201CDate 2010-12-27 lies after the end of Factory calendar F1u201D. But when I checked the plant in customization, the Factory calendar assigned is u201CKRu201D and not u201CF1u201D. So I donu2019t understand why this error message is appearing. But when I checked Factory calendar u201CF1u201D, it was valid only up to 2010 and there are special rules also set. Only few days in the year are working days. Factory Calendar u201CF1u201D description says u201CKOR customers billed on the 25th of every monthu201D
Please advice.

BrijeshDear
If F1 is the correct calander , then goto OP03-Calander Maintenece -select the Holoiday Caleneder and extende the Valaidity till 2020 and also Select the Factory Calander do the same till 2020 .Now Goback to main screen of OP03-Plant asisngement -re-assing the same F1 calaneder .
Secondly check the factory calender of the plant in OX10.Then in SPRO > enterprise structure >Definition > logistic execution>define shipping point .Select you shipping point and assgin the proper factory calender
.Goto OVX5 , choose your sales organization, click on details, Detailed information tab - Sales Org Calendar (maintain your factory calendar here not Sale Org Calander )
.Check in VOV8, use the "Propose delivery date" and "Lead time in Days" options to default today's date as the requested delivery date.

Hello Everyone,
I would need your help to confirm the following is true or clarify some doubts:
1. I understand that Sales Org (SOrg) is assigned to Plant , thus : Sorg := Plant
2. Does this also Implies : SOrg + Distr Channel := Plant? Not necessary right? For this case, its not true / an invalid assignment right?
3. Plant is assigned to Sales Org + Distr Channel. Is it implicit that the Reverse is true? Is it implicit that Always the reverse is true, in general, for Any other organizational unit assignment relationships?
I believe that Sales Org := Plant and Plant := Sales org + Distr Channel and the reverse of each of both relationships are not true. Please confirm.
4. Sales Org is Assigned to Plant but Plant is not Assigned to Sales Org right? Plant is also higher level in the organizational structure than Sales Org right?
Thanks.
Sincerely

How to Configure a New Plant in SAP?
Plant 0001 is the SAP defaults provide for your reference.
OX14 - Define Valuation Area (Tick one only- Once your system go live, no more changes) Most company take the SAP recommended choice - Value Material Stock at Plant level Value Material Stock at Plant or Company Level If you valuate material stocks at plant level, the plant is the valuation area. Hi,All........
We are creating production order manually with matrl, Prod. Plant and order type as input...When we enter required quantity for Production and finish date as we are using Backward Scheduling.
The system throwing a messgae that factory calendar Z3 does not exist.
Message no:co034......
Pls guide me to resolve the issue.
what needs to be checked in the system.
Rgds,
Yogesh.....Hi Yogesh,
It seems that you have assigned the factory calendar Z3 to plant or to the workcenter used in the routing for the material.
This customizing you may have carried forward but probably you have not carried the factory calendar Z3 customising to the client where you are trying to create the order.
Hence create the factory calendar in customising (SCAL-Tcode) in the client you are working.
I hope this will help resolve your problem once the factory calendar has being defined in the client you are working.
Thanks & Regards.

Which Factory Calendar is used to determine the Sales Order delivery date
Hi ,
There is Factory calendar assigned to sales Org and shipping point as well.
I want to know which Factory calendar is used to determine the promise date on sales order acknowledgement and which one is used to determine the delivery date?
Appreciate your help/inputs.
Regards,
RamRamy,
I am not sure what you mean by 'promise date'. For a given sales order item confirmation schedule, the system calculates the following dates:
Delivery Date
Goods Issue date
Loading Date
Material Availability date
Transportation planning date.
These dates are dependent upon what you have configured, and what your master data is. If you have transportation scheduling turned on (IMG>SD>Basic Functions>Delivery scheduling and transportation scheduling), then the durations are:
Route duration (transit), - affected by factory calendar assigned to the route (0VTC, that's a zero)
Picking time, packing time, Transportation planning time, and Loading time- affected by the factory calendar assigned to the shipping point (OVLZ, not a zero)
In addition, the Material availability date will be affected by the calendar assigned to the plant (WB03). The calculated dates may also differ on a given order schedule line, based on whether the sales order is backward scheduled or forward scheduled. This is particularly important when the calendars all have different holiday schedules.
Standard SAP help on the matter, with a couple of nice pictures.

HI Gurus,
I have a problem with the factory calendar assignment. I created the factory calendar directly in production. Now, I want to assign it to a particular plant. So, I created a similar calendar in DEV and assigned it and transported it. However, this calendar is not available in QA and what happened was all the assignments in that transport from DEV was transported to QA.
I just want to transport the assignment of only one plant to QA & PRD. What is the procedure? How to do that? I am afraid that if I move this to PRD, it will overwrite all other assignments as it did in QA.
Please help...
JohnHi John,
you have to transport all the factory calenders in the system at once i.e. all the factory calenders for different plants. you can not transport only one factory calenders for one plant. try to transport all the factory calenders and check it out.
cheers

System does not propose the delivery date based on factory calendar
Hi,
I am creating a sales order for a delivery date for this sat which is (2/22/09)
I have maintained 2 separate calendars for
1) shipping point
2) for the route
The route has a transit time of 1 day and the calendar has sat and sunday as non working.
the Shipping point has a pick/pack time of 1 day and the calendar has sat and sunday as non working
The material is available in the warehouse
Now when i create this sales order i enter the delivery date as 2/22/09, the system does not propose me the delivery date of monday (i.e 2/23/09) It accepts the 2/22/09 delivery date.
In the schedule line i do see the date as 2/22/09 only.
The delivery was created with the following dates
Picking = 2/17/09
Transportation Planning = 02/18/2009
Loading =02/18/2009
Planned GI= 02/18/2009
Delivery Date = 02/22/2009
How can the system give me the delivery date of a sunday when the calendar doesnt allow sunday as working day.
Also the route time is 1 day in transit so i am not sure why the system is proposing a 3 day transit time?
Can any one explain the behaviour of SAP for the delivery date logicDspsac,
Delivery date can be any date. For instance, if your customer insisted on a Sunday delivery, you would accommodate him, regardless of any calendar.
From the delivery date, the system counts backwards USING THE FACTORY CALENDAR ASSIGNED TO THE ROUTE by the number of days in the route. You have to consult the FC assigned to your Route to determine if the GI date has been properly calculated.
From the GI date, the system counts backward Pick/pack time, using the shipping point calendar, to arrive at Material availability date.
Calculations are explained in SAP online help
[Transportation and Delivery Scheduling|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/dd/5607e7545a11d1a7020000e829fd11/frameset.htm]

Assignment of factory calendar ID to company code
Hello,
I want to implement a report where I need the Assignement of the ID for the factory calendar to the company code. Is there a table in the system?
thx
RobertHi Robert,
Read the factory calendar & plant link from T001w & then read the link between plant & company code in T001k. I am sure you would then be able to get the fields into your report as you want.
If helpful award points

Risks associated with changing to new Plant Calendar assigned in OX10
Our site is considering changing the factor calendar from 5 days a week to 7 days a week in OX10 for the plant. We curently use all supply chain modules and otc. Can anyone tell me the warnings/risks associated with doing this?
Thank you.Hello,
Orders for Production , Maintenance, Deliveries, Transfer Order etc. are created according to the factory calendar .
You must be sure that all operations can be carried out in the seven days of the week (e.g. deliveries), because SAP can be scheduling aTransfer Order for a Sunday and somebody can be calling you for fixing the issue!
The normal case is that some operations can take place in the weekend (Production, Maintenance) but other Logistic Operations ( Deliveries) are done only from Mo to Fr. If this is your case, I would create an additional seven days calendar and assign it to the work centers in Production and maintenance, but the Plant would remain linked to the old five days calendar
Hope this can solve your issue.
Dario
