Wrong Font Sizes

If i write a Text in Photoshop CS 6 on a Mac the size of the Font is always wrong. For example: I write a Text in 6 Point which is bigger than a Text in 12 pt. I allready uninstall Photoshop, but i have still this problem. When i transform a textbloc it´s getting worse, seems like the text is getting bigger but the pt stays at the old size

Not using the transformation tool isnt solving my problem at all!!
What »transformation tool« are you talking about?
After transforming the Type size in the character panel is always wrong.
So, as pointed out previously, if you want clear, actual font sizes indicated in the Character Panel you should not transform Text Layers but instead change the text properties in the respective Panels.
Edit: For the time being at last.
The issue might be addressed in a future release, so feel free to post a Feature Request/Bug Report over at

  • Problems with Saved Watermarks - Wrong Font Size

    Hi,
I am having problems with "Saved" Watermarks, as when I selected them they have the wrong font size.
I created a Watermark (Draft) to be placed on the lower right
corner of a PDF, using font Arial-10. This watermark has been save using the "Save Settings..." in Watermarks.
When I add this this "saved" watermark to a new PDF, the font size is wrong
(much much bigger), even though the Add Watermark windows reports Arial-10. Only by a selecting a different font size and changing it back to the saved font size (10) I get the correct Font Size in the PDF.
I had a similar problem with the placement, but managed to solve that by setting the Preference>User&Guide to the used Unit (Page&Ruler = centimeters). But for the font size I can't find anything in the preference.
    Any Help or Suggestions ?

Sorry forgot to add, I am using

  • Font Size: What is wrong with the Adobe people?

I am so sick of squinting.
Bloody increase your font size in Adobe Bridge and Adobe Photoshop.
There is no point in dozens of people discussing it in the Adobe Community Forums if you can' fix it, so just fix it.
    FIX IT

    Well Emily

  • Print Module - Set Explicit Font Sizes

In the Print Module Identity Plate can Lightroom set font size explicitly instead of using only a % scale factor?
The scale factor is a great idea but it would be a lot more convenient at times to set the font size explicitly to 10 or 12 or whatever so it could carry over to other titles if you want all your titles to print in a specific font size (e.g. 12 points). That's already possible with Vibrance, Recovery and a host of other settings (including the Identity Plate scale factor itself!) and it's very valuable to be able to have those exacting controls.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Ian,
I'd be very pleased if I'm doing something wrong. From what I see the Identity Plate supports only one font size, and only for the most recent photo. When I choose Edit and type in a new title of a different length Lightroom changes the size of the font (the longer the title, the smaller the font and vice versa). Try this:
    1) Open Identity Plate and title the picture "Hello".
    2) Change the title to "I just love Adobe Lightroom so very much!"
The title will be smaller. Lightroom seems to disregard the Identity Plate font size.
I just tried your recommendation and no matter how I changed the Identity Plate font size in the Print module (e.g. from 38pt to 8pt) the photo's title text size barely changes, I have to use the Scaling slider every time. That font sizing functionality only works for me in the Library module when I'm creating my actual Identity Plate.
Every time I change pictures I have to re-do this step. The way I'm dealing with this is changing the scaling factor (or with your recommendation, the font size) every time for every different-length title and/or enlarging/shrinking the title box for each photo.
As I explained in my other reply to your other post, this is very time-consuming when you're printing 50-100 titled photos in a single day/weekend (not to mention the fact that it's physically impossible to set every scaling factor so all titles print exactly the same size font).
It would be a lot better for Lightroom to automatically save all the print parameters the way it saves all other of the picture's metadata.
If you could share an easy way to make that much faster I'd be quite grateful.

  • PDF Format Oracle Reports font size is not consistent.

My process is generating the batch oracle Reports.
    Their key map is:
    Key1: %* server=server1 userid=xxxs/xxx@xxxx report=D:\sample.rdf destype=file desformat=PDF
My process is calling IAS server to generate report. IAS server is generating and saving the report in the specified location. The problem is sometimes the report font size is very tiny (especially headers & footers), it is happening for few reports. What could be the reason is there anyway to make sure that always the generated reports font size is good.

it is happening for few reportsSo is the problem that the same reports-module sometimes has the right font and sometimes not, or is there one report which has always the wrong font?

  • Changing font/-size of a text field on master-pages not possible? (field prop)

    Hi,
I would like to change the font and font-size of a textfield on a master page.
I wonder if I do anything wrong, because the font-options (size, font etc.) are simple greyed out / not avaliable, when I click on my text field.
It seems, there is any way to customize the font-properties of a textfield (only) on master-page.
Well I guess it would work with java script in init-event ...  but really, why the hell it should not be possible simply to use the properties/text properties?!
Please correct me if I am wrong. Do I do anything wrong or is it really not possible to customize font of a text field on master pages?

    Hi,
I was just about to post, that I figured it out.
Actually, I use Livecycle Designer in SAP (transaction SFP). There seems to be a bug (one of hundrets by the way).
If I click on a field, that does not have text-property e.g. subform, text-option menu greys out.
Afterwards it stay this way until I click/doubleclick into a simple text (not text field). From that moment on, text/font-option menu is available again, until I click on something without text. => So pay attention and click wisely
    coming soon: "SAP meets Livecycle Designer - a (Bug)Lovestory", hardcover 124 Pages. ; )
by the way: SAP does not sopport interactive forms higher than Reader 8.1. Its statement "8.1 is fine enough for everything you need in a SAP/Adobe Interactive Form". So beware of using XFA higher than in 8.1. sad, but true ...

  • How to change font size in Safari?

Why is it when I set my fonts inside Safari to say, 18 for standard and 18 for fixed. It doesn't display that way. I keep getting the tiny font that I've always used.

The font size you specify in the Preferences (18 for standard) will be used only if the font size is not specified by the web page. Nowadays most of webpages (including this Discussions) specify fonts and sizes to use in the CSS file, and the setting in the Preferences will be ignored.
As andyBall writes, you can set the minimum size of fonts in Safari-Preferences-Advanced. But the results may not satisfy you (wrong line spacings etc.).
In the same Preferences, you can specify your own CSS file, as explained in the following post by Tom Gewecke:
Re: Setting default font size doesn't stick
But here again, line spacings etc. are not adjusted correctly. To write a detailed personal CSS file by yourself is very tedious, if not impossible.
As you might know, you can enlarge the fonts (and spacings) by hitting "command +" (press-hold the command key and hit the + key, or the = key; it seems you need not to press the shift key). I will be very pleased if someone tells me how to make this "enlarged" state the default.

  • Will Adobe ever fix the UI text font size issues in CS6 apps?

Having recently installed CS6 on my new Windows computer, I find some serious issues with font sizes in the user interface (and not only in Dreamweaver, but in several--but not all--the applicaitons). You'd think that with a 27-inch screen, font sizes wouldn't be a problem. And you'd be wrong.
The irony is that some text is properly sized. Commands in the menus. For example. But the menu names are not. The text of items in the File tab is correctly sized, but the name of the File tab is not. In the Manage Sites dialog box, the title bar text is properly sized, but the text within, including button labels, is not. IN almost all of these cases, text is just plain way too small to read. It looks like the programmers made a HUGE boo-boo: they sized text in pixels, not only a no-no in web diesgn, but a no-no in applicaiton design.
Because on a 27-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080, UI text in Dreamweaver is all plenty large and readable, while on a 27-inch screen with a resolution of 2560x1440, UI text all over the applicaiton is too tiny to read--and made worse by putting the text on a gray background, reducing contrast, yet another design no-no.
CC is NOT an option--and properly should not be for any occasional user. Do not even think of suggesting it as a "solution."
This is clearly a bug (did Adobe do any testing on higher-resolution screens before releaseing CS6?), and one I wonder if it is unique to Windows systems (as Apple has had similarly high-resolutiopn screen for its displays and iMac lines for quite some time now). Or is it uniquely a Windows 8 issue?
Finally, is there at all a workaround? I can find nothing in the Settings dialog box that would control the size of UI text. Perhaps there is a text-based configuration file that could be modified to change the size of UI text. (Yeah, having configured autoexec.bat, config.sys, win.ini, and similar files back in the day, I do know my way around configuration files--if they are still used.)

What made you think that you should complain to Adobe about Windows display problem?  Adobe and Microsoft are two different companies competing against each other.
However, you might have display problem and the best way to resolve this is by going to:
    Control Panel >> Display
    Follow the online instructions.
Please not, you go to control Panel from within the windows itself NOT from DW.
Hope this gets you started or you can ask in the Windows Forum on Microsoft Website.

  • Font Size in iTunes for iTunes 9

Roughly this question is frequently posted, but I've not found an answer for iTunes 9.
Like many others, I need to increase the font size in the iTune display (of track names, artists, etc.), and the large setting in the iTunes preferences doesn't increase it enough for me to read it comfortably.
    1. Is there by now an easy fix for this?
    2. If not, what file would I need to edit and what changes would I need to make in it (backing it up and using an editor like emacs or the like)? I only need to change font size? -- Thanks, CS

If, after changing the iTunes font size to "large", it still isn't big enough for you, you can increase it further by using my free iTunes font-size editor. You can download it here:
    http://www.pobox.com/~teridon/ituneshacks/index.html
The editor works by making changes to an iTunes font resource file. It makes backups of the file, in case something goes wrong (never happened, as far as I know...).
NOTE: Changing the Font resource file requires Administrator privileges, or write permission to the C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\en.lproj directory.
The forum TOS requires me to say: "I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link" because I have a paypal donation link on my webpage, but the program is free (donation totally optional).

  • App. Express -- Change font size in the item label.

I would like to size the item label so I did this and it did not work
    in the label I put <span style="font-size:12px;">ITEM 1</span> and
    <span style="font-weight:bold;">ITEM 1</span>
    What wrong?

    Hello,
The basic “trick” here is to duplicate the proper label template (you can of course change the original label template, but that’s less advisable) in order to add an ID to the text/link part.
In my example, the template is base on the “Optional Label with Help” template, and the “Before Label” field contains the following:
<label for="#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#" tabindex="999"><a class="t2OptionalwithHelp" id="L_#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#" href="javascript:popupFieldHelp('#CURRENT_ITEM_ID#','&SESSION.')" tabindex="999">In order to maintain ID uniqueness, the new ID just adds “L_” to the item name.
Now I have direct access to the text/link, and I can manipulate it using JavaScript. In the example, I added the following to the region footer:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $x('L_P160_ITEM2').style.fontSize = '20px';
    $x('L_P160_ITEM3').style.fontSize = '30px';
    $x('L_P160_ITEM3').style.color = 'green';
    </script>Regards,
    Arie.
    Hi Carl,
As usual I was busy typing and didn’t see your reply. I agree that a specific example would be the best and easiest way to help.

  • PS keeps the font size the same each time i open it. How do i get it back to normal?

how do i reset photoshop cc?

Are you talking about the UI font size, or the font size you're using to type things into documents?
If the latter, just select the T tool, and without a document open change the font, etc. to your preference.  Then quit/close Photoshop.  Next time you open it you should be using that font/size.
If that's not working for you, something may be wrong with the saving of your preferences files.

  • How to retain font-size when saving filled in form (pdf)

    Hi,
I have a pdf form from an organization and when I fill in the (text)boxes, the more text I put in there, the font-size will adjust to fit everything in. However, when I save the pdf file and view it in a different pdf reader the font-size is too big and half of the text is not visible.
Also, the form contains some checkboxes/radiobuttons. When filling in the form they work just fine, but when saved and viewed both the yes and no are checked, even though I only checked one of them.
Anyone have any idea how I could fix this?
    Thank you in advance
    (using: Acrobat XI 11.0.0)

Ow.. I don't know the solution yet, but maybe something went wrong earlier with someone else who filled it in partially. I found the original on the internet and that seems to work so far.

  • Why ist the printed font size smaller then the choosen font size in pages

    Hi,
sorry about my english it´s a lot of years agoo i used it.
since a cuple of months i choosed a mac mini to be used as my favorit pc-system. Now i am using pages to create letters and stuff like greeting cards, posters, flyers and so on.
In this i´ll find a problem between the choosen font sizes and the printed paper.
If i choose a font and size like arial 12, and start the print job of the lettert with my Printer (Samsung 3170 MFC or Samsung 315), the size of the printed font is very smaller than the in pages choosen font (seen on the screen.
If i use MS offce it is the right size on the screen as on the printet paper.
    What do i wrong?
    Greetings from Hamburg Germany

Maybe because your document isn't displayed at 100% but at 120% on your screen.
On my iMac, to get the same size on screen and on paper, the zoom factor must be 142% which can't be done thru the available interface.

  • Font sizes between  Photoshop and Edge - Any Accurate conversion table?

I have been trying to make sense of the font sizes between  Photoshop and Edge. It seems that the conversion tables I have found do not actually give the right numbers and I am wondering if there is a table from Adobe that would make it easy to have the right size rather than an approximation.
I prefer to use text in Edge rather than Photoshop for many different reasons one being dynamic text.
For example a font in Photoshop in a 780 x 475 image is 8pt - In Edge, according to conversion tables it should be 11 px but it is totally wrong. It needs to be closer to 30 px to be about the same.
So, Adobe Team, any documentation on that?

By the way, I have to correct the numbers but they still do not make too much sense. The artist gave me a 300 dpi file so of course the px size what wrong. After converting the file to 72 dpi, the font size happens to be 33.33 pt or 40 px which is now way too big in Edge.  It looks like the size my just be the same 33.33 pt would be 33.33 px. Is this correct?
