Wrong heatsink for my Pavilion P6180T?

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion P6180T that was purchased in 2009. Recently, the fan was running very loudly, so I opened the case to clean it. At a brief glance, I could tell that the plastic casing surrounding the heatsink and fan was broken. I hoped to repair it, and began removing the screws. When I did so, the plastic fell apart around two of the screws. Once I had it removed from the computer, I could tell it had been repaired on one side - before it was sent to me Brand NEW from hp. You can see the bluish-colored glue on the part in the picture below:
I don't have a question about that specifically, it just upset me that they sent me a new computer with used parts and then had the nerve to say it was "no longer under warranty".
So I called the HP parts store to get a new heatsink/fan, and they tell me they don't offer the part anymore. They give me the part number and send me to System Design Advantage (an outside company) to order the part. I paid $53 and it arrived yesterday. However, the new heatsink they sent me does not use screws to connect to the motherboard - it uses some sort of tabs. I've contacted System Design Advantage and HP, and they both say I have the correct part and I need to take it to a local service to have it installed if I "don't understand how to install it". Now, I've gotten a little upset because it is obvious the heatsink connects with screws and the part they sent me does not. It does have the correct dimensions and I'm sure they moved to this system with later models. I have tried talking to tech support, customer support, sales at both HP and SDA, and none of them are willing to help. Can someone tell me either how to make this part work or if I have the wrong part altogether? I would gladly send this back if anyone can tell me what heatsink to purchase from newegg. I just opened up my 2009 PC and found that the exact same fan had almost the exact same problem as yours. Difference with mine is that the plastic around that fan was already broken off. Someone broke it before it was shipped!
I am about to start my journey to fix this defective machine -- obviously out of warranty already. So I expect nothing but stonewalling from HP.
Please help if you can.

Thermal paste for HP Pavilion G-6

Do I need a specific type of replacement thermal paste for Hp Pavilion G-6? Came with gray/silver. (Replacing cooling fan only.)

Any time you break the connection between the heatsink and the CPU core you need to clean off all the residue and reinstall thermal compound. Rubbing alcohol and even an emery cloth is OK...needs to be clean and shiny. Any type thermal compound will work. I like Arctic Silver. The important thing is to install it properly. A thin coat is all you need. Thin and even across the whole top surface of the processor core.

If you don't want to use an alias you'll have to create a new account as you cannot change the @icloud.com address once created. You'll have to create a new ID, verify the ID, then use the ID to create the new account, and migrate your iCloud data to the new account.
If you are currently syncing data with iCloud, begin by saving any photo stream photos to your camera roll as mentioned above. If you are syncing Notes with iCloud, you'll also need to open each of them and email them to yourself so they can be recreated in the new account. Finally, if you are syncing any iWork documents with iCloud, turn off iCloud syncing in your iWork app settings.
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then in Settings>iCloud tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom, set up your new ID, verify the email address you use to create it by responding to Apple's verification email, then sign in with the new ID to create your new account. Turn on your iCloud sync settings and choose Merge when prompted to upload your data to the new account. When you turn Mail to On you will be prompted to create your new @icloud.com email address. Be carefull to type it correctly as it cannot later be changed.

You can change the linked email/sign in email for your iCloud and Apple ID accounts from 1 site,

Your PC is not supported by HP for Windows 7 and Windows 7 32 bit will be particularly harder to find drivers for since OEMs have moved on to furnishing 64 bit operating systems on their PC's.
I can't get to the support pages to find out what model wireless network card your PC has, but here are the links to some of the drivers you need.
1. Install the AMD chipset drivers and reboot. These should install the smbus and usb 3 controllers.

When you go to install the graphics you have to install these drivers in this order and reboot after each installation.
1. Intel chipset installation utility.
2. Intel HD graphics driver.
3. Nvidia HD graphics driver.

There is no 32 bit support for your model.
You will have to experiment with drivers from business models and drivers from the hardware component mfr's websites.
You can try these for starters:
1. Chipset driver. Install first and reboot.

My iPhoto is not responding. Whenever I click on the iPhoto icon I get a twirling beachball. It is as if the machine is looking in the wrong place for the photos. How can I see where the machine is looking to find out if this is really the problem. How can I see the path?

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then the problem lies with your current library.
If that's the case Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

As you did not provide your exact model of HP Pavilion 15, I am providing you a link the HP Drivers & Downloads where you can obtain all supported drivers for your system.
You will need to input your model and OS and then follow the prompts to display the drivers.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
If the drivers are not listed then the OS is not supported. This would mean it has not been tested on your model and the outcome is unknown. That is not to say it will not work only that it is unknown.
