Wrong Keyboard map changing RC.conf doesnt change it! [solved]

I changed my locale to EN-uk during install, commenting out the US entries so it should be set as UK.
I have tried both "uk" and "gb" in RC.conf for Keymap, but im still getting " for @ etc.
Where do I need to change this?

Do you mean in X or in the console? If you want to change it in X you need to add
setxkbmap gb
to your xinit

  • Wrong keyboard mapping on a MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz. with german keyboard,

    I think people with a english keyboard won't have this problem.
    It might be interesting if other people will have the same problem,
    with non english keyboards.
    But if you have a english keyboard please feel free to test.
    Summary:
    Wrong keyboard mapping on a MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz. with german keyboard, when choosing chinese "Hanin" input with YiTian keyboard layout.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    A) MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz (white) with german keyboard
    B) MacOSX 10.4.8
    1. choose System Preferences - International - Input Menu
    2. select Traditional Chinese and only Hanin
    3. close System Preferences
    4. open TextEdit
    5. type 'y' to test if it still displays 'y'
    6. choose the german flag next to the system clock and select chinese Hanin
    7. press OptionShiftU to get preferences of Hanin
    8. choose Modes - ZhuYin - YiTian
    9. close preferences of Hanin
    10. choose the Hanin symbol next to the system clock and select "Show Keyboard Viewer"
    11. type in TextEdit again 'y'
    Expected Results:
    You should see a chinese character which looks like a nose with a mouth in a side view.
    Actual Results:
    You get a chinese character which looks like a ribbon. Which is actually
    is the character you will get when you hit 'z'.
    Regression:
    Not only the y is switched with the z. All other keys are mapped like an
    english keyboard layout.
    It happens whenever you change to Hanin input with YiTian keyboard layout.
    This happens here on a
    MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz (white)
    1 GB RAM
    80 GB
    Mac OS X 10.4.8
    This does not happen on a
    15" PowerBook G4 1.67 Ghz
    Mac OS X 10.4.8 / Build 8L2127
    This also does not happen on a
    17" iMac C2D 2 GHz
    Mac OS X 10.4.8 / Build 8L127
    Notes:
    I tried a SMC reset and reinstalled Mac OS X 10.4.8 on the MacBook but I still get the wrong output. The keyboard behaves like a english keyboard
    when you choose Hanin with YiTian layout and only on this MacBook. I
    couldn't try on other MacBooks. The problem remains if I use a german USB Apple Keyboard.
    Update:
    I now tested it on:
    another MacBook 2.0 GHz C2D (white)
    MacBook 1,83 GHz C2D
    MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz C2D
    all with german keyboard,
    all have the same "bug"
    PB G4, MacBook C2D, iMac C2D   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Maybe its a secret concept of first Aluminium MacBook? Ha?

  • Wrong keyboard mapping

    Hi,
    I have just rebuilt the OS on my Portege R100 in the UK. My keyboard mapping is wrong:
    the @ key above the number 2 key - shift lock shows " which is where the @ key is shown on the keyboard.
    How do i reset?

    Hi
    I assume your OS has wrong keyboard language settings.
    In the regional and language options you will find the possibility to modify this issue.

  • N97 wrong keyboard mapping

    I would like to inform you of a bug that maybe you are unaware of. It affects the greek version of N97 (I don't know if it occurs also to other versions). In greek language we put accents on vowels, either on capital ones. To write an accented vowel, one has first to press ' (the key on the right of L) and then the corresponding vowel. Everything works right when the vowel is small. But when it is a capital, the following problem occurs. When you press ' and I, you get 'Ο instead of Ί. You have to press ' and Θ (U) to get 'Ι. In case of e.g. 'Ε, you have to press ' and ς (W), to get 'Ε, otherwise you get ' E (one accent and one E, not an accented E). The same applies to every other vowel. In other words, to get the accented capital vowels right, you have to press the accent (') and the key that is on the left of the vowel (or at the end of the previous row, if the vowel is first on a row).
    I note this bug, as it is likely that you are unaware of it. Please, fix it in the next firmware.

  • How can I keep my original keyboard mapping in different input methods?

    Hi!
    i have a question about my keyboard mapping. my powerbook has a german keyboard. and i switch frequently my input methods between german and simplified chinese(ITABC), which was all fine. but after upgrading to Leopard, when i switch to ITABC input method, my keyboard mapping changed along with this input method to chinese keyboard mapping! which annoys me a lot! this did not happen before when i was in Tiger!
    could someone please tell me how to keep my original keyboard mapping (at least the alphabets) when i switch to ITABC?
    Thanks a lot!

    in german input, the key "Y" and "Z" are opposite comparing with normal english keyboard. and in chinese input method, the "y" and "z" are mapped just as normal english keyboard.
    what happens now is, in ITABC input method, "y" and "z" are mapped as normal english keyboard, which is not like that before when i was using tiger.
    Thanks for the info! You should definitely ask about this on the Chinese-Mac list. Keyboard mapping with the Apple Chinese IM's has long been a problem, and is one reason many people are moving to QIM:
    http://www.yale.edu/chinesemac/pages/input_methods.html#other
    I suspect something has changed in the Chinese IM with Leopard to mess this up for you, and it may not be fixable.

  • Changing keyboard mapping post install.

    Every time I boot into arch the keyboard mapping is set to US, and I can change it like the installation guide shows. But as it warns, those commands are "only useful during installation" which I take to mean they do not persist.
    I had a look at this wiki entry, but I don't have a the file /etc/vconsole.conf.
    Running localectl set-keymap se-lat6 gives me:
    Failed to set keymap: The name org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1 was not provided by any .service files. Don't know how to interpret that, google turns up nothing.

  • How to change keyboard map fmrweb.res for different forms

    I'm using Oracle Forms 10g with Oracle Forms and Reports Application server 10g.
    I know how to change fmrweb.res to change how keys function on web forms. The problem I'm having is I only know how to assign the fmrweb.res file when connecting to the application server, which means all forms running on that session have to use the same keyboard mapping.
    I know you can change the defualt fmrweb.res for all the forms executed on the application server
    and you can change the fmrweb.res file in the URL like
    server/forms/frmservlet?Form=login.fmx&config=dataentry
    (where dataentry is defined in the formsweb.cfg file)
    and in the config section I have
    [dataentry]
    term=fullpath/fmrweb_new.res
    My question is, is there a way to pick a different fmrweb.res file based on the form?
    Can you specify multiple forms in the basexxx.htm file(basejini.htm) in the PARAM section like
    <PARAM NAME="serverArgs"
    VALUE="module=form1.fmx term=fillpath/filename1.res"
    VALUE="module=form2.fmx term=fillpath/filename2.res"
    VALUE="module=form3.fmx term=fillpath/filename3.res"
    VALUE="module=form4.fmx term=fillpath/filename4.res">
    Is there a way to pass term=fullpath\filename.res to the Oracle Forms Web Runtime process for each form using call_form, open_form, or new_form?

    Posiible approach (i now it sounds strange):
    Configure your enter-key to fire the KEX-EXEQRY-Trigger.
    In the dataentry-form-module: Overwrite the KEY-EXEQRY-Trigger so thtat is just does a NEXT_ITEM; .
    I know there may be other implications depending of the compelixity of your dataentry-form, but maybe this helps.

  • Why does my firefox intermittently (and seemingly randomly) behave as though my control key is stuck on, even though my keyboard behaves normally in every other program? AND it will also randomly change my keyboard mapping to an international one.

    I will be using firefox, and for some reason, it behaves as though control key is being held down. If i use the mouse wheel, the page zooms. If I press the letter 'o', the "Open file..." dialog opens. But I'm not holding control. If, while this is happening, I switch to another application like Notepad, it behaves normally. But then I'll go back to firefox and the problem is still there. It seems to randomly start and stop.
    Also, in a possibly related problem, my keyboard mapping will change from my default US to some other foreign mapping where shift-6 incorrectly outputs '?' instead of '^', for example.

  • Letter § and on my new keyboard have change place.

    I bought new keyboards for work, 3 new flat ones instead of the big fat ones. Everything works good, except on two of the computers, where the button § and < have changed input. When i press § i got a < and v.v, Everything works perfect. I have tried to changed keyboard from the room where it works but still with the same resault. So its not a hardware issue, has to be in the software. But im using 10.4.11 on both macs.
    Very strange, and how can i fix it?!

  • XSLT Mapping changes Required

    Hello Experts,
    I got one change requirment, where the name filed in the idoc contains special character (like semi colon) in between the name, I want to put double quotation for that special character at XSLT mapping.
    Eg:
    Input Name:   Ravi ; Kumar
    Out put would be: Ravi  ";" Kumar
    Please help me out with the required mapping changes in XSLT.

    Hi,
    use xpath function translate() and escape the semicolon and the quotes.
    <output><xsl:value-of select="translate(//Name,%3B,%25%3B%25)"/></output>
    If  that escapes do not work google for escape sequences.

  • Mapping changes while upgrading from PI 7.0 to PI 7.31

    Hello Experts,
    We are upgrading from PI 7.0 EHP 2 to PI 7.31 SP 14 , Dual stack only.
    While migration, there are some doubts related with mapping, which are not getting cleared even from going through various blogs like:
    Migration Woes?
    PI/XI: PI 7.1 upgrade/migration - Message Mappings
    Below are my doubts:
    As there are mapping changes for IFS, IFSWITHOUT ELSE & Context functions, so exactly what these changes are and how would this work, how can we identify & rectify in all the mappings?
    What changes to be performed for Java mapping & XSLT mapping?
    Are there any changes for ABAP proxy?
    Any help is appreciated
    Many Thanks!!!

    Hi Lisin,
    You need to change in Java mapping accordingly and compile in jre1.6 as many methods used in older version are obsolete now.
    You need to write transform instead of execute which was used for PI 7.0
    public void transform(TransformationInput in, TransformationOutput out)
                   throws StreamTransformationException {
    You can easily write the code again in message mapping as discussed:
    Write Java Mapping directly in ESR!
    For XSLT mapping, the older version will be supported as the execution is done using SAP XML Toolkit which is supported in higher versions also.
    XSLT Mapping - Managing Services in the Enterprise Services Repository - SAP Library
    ABAP proxy will be as it is if you are going for classical scenario as you will be using 7.31 Dual stack.
    But if you want to go for AAE Integrated Configuration, you need to do required configuration changes in ECC for outbound Proxy:
    Proxy to file scenario using AAE - with full configuration
    I am not sure whether you need to change in Graphical standard mapping for those functions which are already there in PI 7.0.

  • IDOC Segment mapping change

    Hi,
    How can i change the field attached to a IDOC segment.
    Actually we have this Invoice IDOC,in which the E1EDK03 012(Qualifier) is passing the IDOC creation date instead of Billing date.
    So i need to change this mapping to Billing date.
    Please help.

    Hi Salz,
    I just checked my version of SAP (4.7) and you should get an invoice date.  Check out the subroutine FILL_E1EDK03 in function module IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC.  The first section of this code creates an E1EDK03 segment with the invoice date (if there is an invoice date), with qualifyer 026.
    Is there a possibility that in fact you are getting an E1EDK03 segment with the invoice date, but you are also getting other E1EDK03 segments (such as the one you mention with qualifyer 012) and they are obscuring the one you are looking for?
    If there are definitely none being created then can I suggest that you debug the subroutine FILL_E1EDK03 in function module IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC to check what is happening.  You may need to change the timing of your output record to 1 and run the program RSNAST00 online to get the breakpoint to be hit correctly.
    If, in your version, the code doesn't include this date, then you have an exit function module EXIT_SAPLVEDF_002 (called via the subroutine CUSTOMER_FUNCTION in function module IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC) where you can actually add your own segment data.  For example you an change the contents of an existing segment (as per your original request), or append your own E1EDK03 segment with your own data.  I would recommend adding your own segment rather than changing whats there.
    It is possible to extend idocs to add your own custom segments (eg Z1EDK03), but I wouldn't recommend it in your case, because in later versions of SAP the date is provided and by not creating a new segment (Z1EDK03) you will have no mapping changes to do when you upgrade.  You can just delete your userexit code.
    Hope that all makes sense and helps you with your problem.
    Cheers,
    Brad

    Unexpected namespace change after mapping change
    Posted: Apr 18, 2006 5:17 AM    Reply
    Hi all
    We developped a mapping about one year ago on XI SP9.
    The source of the message was an Idoc and the target an XML sample (and not a xsd!) of what our customer expected.
    Everything was working fine at that point.
    Here is an extract of the output we had:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/ http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <env:Header xmlns:p="http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd">
    <p:msgDetails xmlns:p="http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd">
    <p:sender>
    <p:senderId>XXX</p:senderId>
    <p:senderName>AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND</p:senderName>
    </p:sender>
    We are now running SP14 and we had to change the mapping. Since we changed it the namespaces defined in the sample XML we use as a target structure are not used anymore, instead they are replaced by ns0, ns1...
    Now the output looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <ns0:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ns0="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" ns1:schemaLocation="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/ http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <ns0:Header>
    <ns2:msgDetails xmlns:p="http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd" xmlns:ns2="http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd">
    <ns2:sender>
    <ns2:senderId>21873</ns2:senderId>
    <ns2:senderName>XXX</ns2:senderName>
    </ns2:sender>
    Any idea what has happened here?
    Thanks in advance
    Gregory

    Hi Gregory,
    after a short view I would say that the two structures you have posted are logically equivalent.
    I try to make it clear for the sender-element.
    In the first example you have a tag <p:sender>. Obviously the namespace prefix 'p' is used here. In order to find out the qualified name of the element represented by that tag you have to find the namespace declaration for prefix p. As the tag itself does not contain such a declaration you have to go to the parent-tag. Indeed, here you find a declaration for p which says that p is just an alias for 'http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd'. Hence the qualified name for the element is: 'sender' in namespace 'http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd'.
    Now let us look at the corresponding tag <ns2:sender> in the second document. In oder to identify the qualified name of the element you have to find out, which namespace is bound to the namespace prefix ns2 which has been used here. Again you cannot find this in the tag itself but in its parent. Here you find that ns2 is bound to 'http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd'. (Indeed, here you see that prefix p is also bound to that namespace. This seems to be superfluous to me, as the prefix is never used.)
    Consequently, the qualified name of that element is: 'sender' in namespace 'http://localhost/webs/msgDetails.xsd'.
    Thus, both tags represent elements with the same qualified name. For more details look at http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml-names/.
    Greetings Stephan

  • Keyboard increment changes from 1 pt by default to 1296 0000 pt

    After placing any file (using File - Place command) the values in the preference dialog box increase dramatically. E.g. Keyboard increment changes from 1 pt by default to 1296 0000 pt and Type Size/Leading from 2 pt to 72 00 pt. In short it is impossible to go on with the work.
    While launching the app a message appears saying "The Preference file is corrupt and has been reset to the default settings..." All my actions are also deleted.
    The problem is with Illustrator CS 6 on Windows 7 64 bit.

    Best I can suggest is to try uninstalling AICS6 with the Replace Preferences box checked and then reinstall.
