Wrong kind of CAL

Hi guys,
The person responsible for the IT aquisitions wrongly bought Per Device Cals instead of Per User Cals to our Server 2012,
Is there a way I can change that?
The cals are already bought and paid for.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Firstly, try to exchange with reseller as suggested by TP. But if you can’t change then you can contact the MS Clearing house with your all license related document and explain them and they will help you to change and install them as per user CAL.
You can find number to contact from below link.

Hope it helps!
Thanks.

  • NEF "Could not complete your request because it is the wrong kind of document"

I have just installed Lightroom 12.1 with all current updates on W7 64bit and now cannot open the Nikon D5200 raw (NEF) files. I get the message: "Could not complete your request because it is the wrong kind of document" although they open successfully in Camera RAW on Vista 64bit PC with the same version of Elements. In order to work with them, I have had to convert to DNG and open in Photoshop CS5, which doesn't support D5200 RAW (NEF version).
This is causing me a serious problem because I need to migrate all of my work to the new W7 system.

That was the exact wording of the message, and I tried many times with many NEF files; but I just went back to the PC after entering the Forum question and everything works fine. The NEF files open from both my D5000 and the D5200. The pc wasn’t re-booted in the mean time, so I really don’t understand why it works now and didn’t 15 min’s ago!
I’m sorry to have disturbed you – maybe I should just have gone to lunch and tried again later. – I am a computer specialist/consultant, by the way, so I do know what I’m talking about.

  • When openong photoshop cs4- could not complete your request because wrong kind of document

    Hi
I've just installed the free trial of photoshop cs4.. with much difficulty! Firstly it was saying please install adobe file exe? which I don't have a clue how to do. But I managed to install photoshop and thought I was getting somewhere, but now it keeps popping up with couldn't complete your request because it's the wrong kind of document? It allows me to go into photoshop but I can't seem to do anything? Can anyone help?
I'm a novice with computers so please bear this in mind when you respond. Many thanks

I found that knowledge-base article and did every step in it...
I even went beyond... I deactivated CS4, completely uninstalled using AppZapper and then manually went through and tossed every adobe pref file in both users and in system.
I then reinstalled CS4 from scratch, reactivated, and exact same issue. It happens when running in both the 32, and 64 bit kernel as well.
It's so odd too... it runs fine for around 40 seconds. I can open a doc, add type, but then that annoying error pop-up comes and it gets stuck in a loop. I can only click on 'OK', which just makes the error window open again. And again, again, etc... you can't escape. The only way to quit is to 'force quit'.

  • Could not open wrong kind of document

    Hi
This is not really a problem for me but curious to know why and how to eliminate
New pc--- New "successful" installation of cs6 extended -- No other programs etc in use  -- First (and further)  opening of cs6 displays "could not open your request because it is the wrong kind of document"-- Nothing requested --click ok ( or remove display ) and can continue without any problems  Why and how do i find this document since details are not  not displayed
    thanks
    bri

    Hi Mylenium
    Sorry about that
The pc is new and  custom built for photo editing etc .   CS6 extended was indicated as installed" successfully". No other programs were in use and when I opened cs6  the screen  displayed " cannot open your request because it is the wrong kind of document ".   Only by clicking OK to this or removing this display was I able to continue using cs6 without any problems.  If I close down cs6 and then re-open the same ocurrs . Until I remove the display I am unable, to use the browser, say,  to open a file.  However,  assuming cs6 has not been opened and I select a file jpg/ tiff etc from a picture folder and then  " send this file to cs6 "( via a shortcut)  cs6 opens without the previously detailed display  So as I mentioned it is not a major problem for me but I am curious to know why this happens and how such a document, which has not been rquested , might be located and removed
    Hope I have explained better
    Thanks
    Bri

  • Bridge CS4 wrong kind of document message

Sorry if this has been raised before...I didn't find it looking through the topics.
I have just upgraded my computer and OS to Vista 64. Now any raw files I've downloaded from my 5D Mark II won't show a thumbnail or any metadata. If I click on one, it won't open..."wrong type of document." They had shown just fine on CS3 and any files that I try to open from before CS4 show up just fine. Only files downloaded since upgrading to CS4 fail to work with this new OS. I have tried purging the cache a few times but no luck.
Does anyone know the solution to my problem? Thanks.

CS3 and CS4 are two separate programs on your computer, they do not share files. So check the files on CS4 to make sure you have the latest ACR, and in the right directory.

  • I get "program error" or "wrong kind of file" when attempting to open RAW (.NEF) files from my new Nikon D7100.  Works fine with Nikon D80.  What do I need to do?

FYI, I am on Elements 9.0.forumnotifier

Each time a new camera model is introduced the camera raw plugin has to be updated for its format. The D7100 requires ACR 7.4 which is not compatible with PSE 9. So you have three options:
    1. Upgrade PSE.
    2. Use the nikon software to convert your files and open the converted files into PSE for further editing.
    3. Download the free Adobe DNG converter and use that to convert your NEFs to DNG files that your version of ACR can understand.

  • What is wrong with my SQL Statement

I am getting errors when trying to apply an SQL statement to a report, and I can't figure it out. The error reads: "Syntax error (missing operator) in the query expression 'Title = "Sales Representative"'. Could someone please tell
me where it is I have gone wrong? The statement is suppose to show records of employees that have Sales Representative as their Title. This is what I came up with:
SELECT * FROM Employees WHERE Title = “Sales Representative”

Try putting brackets around table and field names.
I found wrong kind of double quote also ---
    SELECT [Employees].* FROM [Employees] WHERE
    [Employees].[Title] = "Sales Representative";
Build a little, test a little

  • Do I have the wrong drive?

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to install my older internal HD from my QS 933 into my new Mac Pro. The old HD is a
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.8
    300 GB
    Ultra ATA
When I install it, it doesn't mount up. Do I have the wrong kind of ATA HD?
    Thanks for the help,
    Pat
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

The drive can be used on the optical drive ATA/100 bus ( preferably jumpered for cableselect in tandem with the optical drive ), but not on the motherboard SATA buses.

  • Got a new internal HD, wrong plugs to connect??

I ordered a new SATA HD for the my G4, got the baby all screwed into the bay, went to plug it in and %&%#. Wrong kind of conection plug. The power plug was still the same but the long connector was all wrong. What kind of HD should I be looking for or connection do I need? Did I go wrong getting a SATA?

    Hi
Support for SATA/Serial ATA drives was introduced with the Power Mac G5. The G4s use the older IDE/ATA/PATA/Parallel ATA drives.
You could buy a PCI SATA card for around $60 which would allow you to use SATA drives.

  • Change file kind?

Is there any way to change a file's "kind?" I've got some .package files which should be unix executable files, but they have the wrong kind. They are either listed as text documents or terminal documents. Any way to change this? I've tried everything I can think of. Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind. I got the files working.

  • Cannot change Media Kind when importing audiobooks and TV shows into iTunes for Mac

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro - my first Apple computer.
I have used PC's with iTunes for many years, and have a large collection of music (from CD's), audiobooks (from CD's), TV shows (from multiple sources), and movies (from DVD's) on external an hard drives.  I have never had trouble moving these to/from my various iDevices: an iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad 2.
I plugged the external drive into my new MacBook Pro, and added the folders to my iTunes for Mac library.  As always happened in the past, the video files were always characterized as "Movies", and audio files as "Music".  However, in iTunes for Mac, i do not seem to have the ability to change the Media Kind .... I can see the field, but it is "greyed out" and i am not allowed to change it.
Can anyone help advise me on how I can change these Media Kinds?  Thank you!

No one answered my question, but I solved it, and thought I'd explain how if others have the same problem .... I had the wrong kind of hard drive for a Mac.  It was formatted NTFS, which the Mac could read but not write to .... therefore, iTunes wouldn't let me change anything.  I needed a better external hard drive anyways, so I got a new one, formatted it to the Mac format, and then just dragged everything to the new hard drive.  After that, iTunes worked perfect.

  • Disc image too large

    Hi all,
new to fourm.it is a great service.my question is that i am having some problems with skipping/freezing dvd discs. a few have come back from clients, not very good!! i understand about burn speeds and discs. so i am trying to burn a disc image to dvd 1hr 48mins to a single layer disc but the saved file from idvd is too big 5.3G. I thought that a movie umder 2hrs would fit on a single disc. I have just used a simple idvd project.I can burn it direct to disc and it will do it.
Also can you delete the captured media once you have created a disc image?
    thanks all and best wishes
    g5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Andy
108 minutes is less than 120 minutes. Then You have to add the material You
put into the building of the DVD menu.
All included should be less than 120 minutes. No: Gb does not have ANY relevance
    for iDVD.
But probably You have selected the wrong kind of Quality.
    - Best Performances = less than 60 min
    - Best Quality = less than 120 min.
Backwards Yes but it's like this.
    Yours Bengt W

  • I did it! Opened Intel Mac all by myself!

    Hello,
For a girl, I like to think I'm a little tech savy. I like gadgets just like most guys. I have recently picked up a Intel Mac Mini and was kinda itching to crack it open to see what kind of trouble I could get into. (Hopefully none of course)
Its my 3rd day with this new toy and I found it running very slow just surfing and thought maybe if I put a bit more ram in it, it might help. However, I only had an old 512 and turns out to be the wrong kind (ddr333). But I cracked open the case none the less just to torture myself!!!!
All I can say is it was EASY as pie to open the case. I used a spatual, kind of rectangular, about 1.5 to 2 inches wide (didn't measure it) it was pretty flimsy and very thin and looked like it would do the job. I had on hand the tools that came with a replacement battery for the Ipod MIni. Futureshop had installed it and gave back the tools for me to keep. The plastic thingy used to pry open the Ipod Mini helped a bit to wedge the Mac Mini when I went to the other side, so all in all it took less than a minute to open the case. It actually looks hard and scary but isn't at all.
I fretted about the antenna and checked the web abit ....just squeeze the 2 black thingys under the antenna together and it will pop up..but don't let it fly off, there's a spring under the antenna so be careful. The antenna is attached to a wire, so don't pull away..just lay it over the side for now and and remember its there so as to not rip it off the wires.
Next step that was a bit tricky was getting this wire attached to a small plastic thing at the front off. Sorry can't really explain what it is but it needs to be popped off from where it is attached. I used my Ipod plastic tool to help wedge it upwards bit by bit to get it off. It is a very tight spot and even my little fingers got in the way. That took a few minutes.
Now the part I hated the most was removing the screws. 3 are the same size and the 4th is longer. Make sure you place the mac mini a certain way when removing the screws so as to not mix them up. I place the screws in the way they were removed and made sure the mini was facing the same way when putting the screws back in. Not really rocket science but helps.
Okay, what I didn't like about the screws is it was a bit tricky to get them out as they were not out in the open except for one. The screws are very tiny..my "00" screwdriver didn't work well but the tools from the Ipod Mini did come in handy..I used the screwdriver to remove the screws . (glad I had it) You need to be careful not to drop them in the hole when screwing the back in.
Once all the screws were off and the little plastic connector removed, you can now gently lift up this top half where the harddrive is housed. When lifting, watch for the brownish cable that is attached on one side, it is attached to the top and bottom halves. You need to lean to top half over towards the brown cable so not rip it off. Also this is where the antenna is hanging over, so watch out you don't rip the antenna off at this stage too.
To change the ram is just like changing ram on your laptop. Same clippy things.
I checked the ram and yes, my old ram is not compatible so I'm S.O.L. and have to re-open this baby tomorrow as I'll be running out to get some.
So when closing up the Mini, I gingerly flipped the top part back over and watched out for the antenna. Put the antenna back on by squeezing the black thingys again and it snapped into place nicely. No big there.
Fussed a teeny bit to line up the holes. Put the plastic wire connector thingy back in at the front...it was tricky again as the space is so small to work in. Once I felt the top portion lined up, I carefully put the screws back in....praying that they didn't fall off into the unit. That would really pee me off as I would have to probably turn it upside down to get the screw out!?!? But all was well!
Lastly, put the case back on. First gently placing it on and lining it up as there is a metal thingy at the back end and make sure no wires are hanging out. Once I thought everything looked okay, I had to tap each corner down until the case went into place completely. Viola!!! All for not!!!
Hopefully everything will be fine tomorrow when I do it all over again. If I can do it..so can you!!!
    Enjoy all!

    Sal,
    No.
    1. The actual text of the warranty and the applicable law* govern, not the manual. For the armchair lawyers who bring up e) in the warranty: The burden of proof of damage caused is still on Apple.
    2. Reread the manual: It does not and cannot legally say that opening the case voids the warranty.
Even though the manual says that there are no user upgradable parts, it doesn't change Apple's obligations under the warranty or take away your rights under federal (and New York state) statutes.
One thing to keep in mind: Anything you install and anything you break because you did so are not covered by warranty. If you don't know what you're doing, you should stay out of the guts of your computer.

*I linked to the actual text of the applicable federal statute and interpretation of that statute by the federal agency that is charged with enforcing it.

  • Animated Gif over Flash document?

    Hi folks,
    Quick question here ...
Is it possible to overlay an animated gif on top of a flash banner?
I have an html page, where I want to re-work our main banner with flash elements, but would like to place our existing animated gif over the right hand part of the background banner.
    Hope that makes sense?
    Kind Regards,
    Cal

    ... thanks Ned!
Just knowing that it's possible is encouraging, so I'll be sure to dabble with your suggestion over the festive season, otherwise, I'd have to learn how to combine several flash motions in flash at one time, where that could certainly fry my brain "cell"  lololol
    All the best.
