Wrong mac address from stack SG500?

Hi,
It's my connection scheme.
There is a routing problem between vlans if one of the devices connected to the unit 2.
Within the same vlan devices are available for each other.
If PC200 connected to Gi1/1/15
Sniff ICMP traffic on Gi1/1/15:
Icmp request from 192.168.112.1 to 192.168.101.200:
Src: 24:01:c7:08:02:49 (192.168.101.254),
Dst: b8:88:e3:0e:1a:da (192.168.101.200)
Icmp replly from 192.168.101.200 to 192.168.112.1:
Src: b8:88:e3:0e:1a:da (192.168.101.200)
Dst: 24:01:c7:08:02:49 (192.168.101.254)
If PC200 connected to Gi2/1/15
Sniff ICMP traffic on Gi2/1/15:
Icmp request from 192.168.112.1 to 192.168.101.200:
Src: 24:01:c7:08:00:01 (192.168.101.254),
Dst: b8:88:e3:0e:1a:da (192.168.101.200)
Icmp replly from 192.168.101.200 to 192.168.112.1:
Src: b8:88:e3:0e:1a:da (192.168.101.200)
Dst: 24:01:c7:08:00:01 (192.168.101.254)
Where does this mac-address (24:01:c7:08:00:01) appear? In the arp table on PC200 it is none.

Hi,
With firmware 1.3.0.62 the same problem.
If the interface Gi2/1/15 to down and up - the first two icmp request has a source MAC
24:01:c7:08:02:49, remaining request has a source MAC 24:01:c7:08:00:01.

  • Wrong mac address listed in verizon router for a device on my network

    Hi folks,
I'm having some routing issues and hope you can help.
I've got the standard  verizon actiontec MI424WR-GEN3I router for my standard LAN and then a 2nd router (linksys wrt54g) for a testing environment I set up, to help isolate the traffic.  I'm using the LAN to WAN strategy to set up the two networks.
everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that my devices behind the actiontec router cannot ping/access any devices behind the linksys router, but the devices behind the linksys router are able to ping and reach the devices behind the actiontec router.
my actiontec subnet is 192.168.1.X while my linksys subnet is 192.168.2.X.  I followed this tutorial on the verizon forum to hopefully get the two networks talking correctly: http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/Multiple-routers-and-subnets-can-t-access-across-subnets/...
an issue I see in my actiontec router is that it appears as though the mac address is not correct for what I'd imagine is the WAN port on the linksys router.  the actiontec is showing the MAC as 00:13:10:73:72:6a while the sticker on the router itself and through the ARP command in the command prompt shows the MAC for the linksys router as 00:13:10:73:72:69.  I've power cycled both routers 2x and nothing has changed.  I currently have the ethernet cable that goes from my actiontec to the linksys unplugged so hopefully it'll drop from network list eventually and reaquire an address when it's hooked back up, hopefully correcting the wrong MAC address issue.
I'm a bit perplexed as to why I can get out to the internet just fine on my 192.168.2.X network with a botched MAC address, but I can't ping the network that's just a hop away...even after following the guide mentioned above.
    any ideas here?

You can release the address yourself.  It's a function under my network, network connections, broadband connection (whichever one is connected), configure connection
    dhcp lease Release
    Then recycle the router
After you set up the static route did the ping work? - ensure that you have icmp enabled on the linksys.  If you don't get a ping response it indicates an issue with the static route rule.

  • Is there any way to pull out computer Mac addresses from GPO?

    Hello!
I was wondering if there is any way to pull out the mac address from all the computers in the organisation via the group policy?
It would be rather difficult to pull out mac address one by one from each computer.
Appreciate your assistance and advise on this!
    Thank you so much :)

You can use group policy to run a startup or logon script to get the information and write it to some file/database.
You could also get the information remotely using a script.
You could also as your network guy for a list of IPs and MACs they see.
Group policy is intended to make settings, not to get information. However you can
set a startup or logonscript that reads out the information through group policy.
A sample script surely is available in the scriptcenter, but I think help on the specific script is more something or the scripting forums.

  • How to get MAC address from client machine ?

    Hi dear,
We are implementing security measures for a banking system, so it is required that we track the MAC address of the registered clients along with other parameters. How do we get the MAC address from client machine using ADF or running scripts in client side?
    thanks all

    Hi,
    Welcome to OTN.
Your question has nothing to do with ADF as such. Googling would give you plenty of such topics.

  • Blocking a MAC address from Authentication to AIR-AP1230 12.3(8) JA

Anyone know the CLI commands for blocking a single MAC address from Associating to an AIR-AP1230 running 12.3(8)?

This link may help as well:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080184aa0.html#91655
Change the Action to Block, make the Default Action Forward All, and make the mask 0.0.0.0. Apply this to the dotllradio interface (or sub-interface), filtering inbound packets. This should block the specified MAC address only.

  • Obtain MAC Address from 250 iPads

    Hi all,
I have taken delivery of 250 iPads which I am configuring with OSX Server on a MAC Mini. So far, so good!
Our wireless network uses MAC Address authentication so I have to add each MAC Address to our Cisco Wireless controller.
Without having to go to Settings > General > About and write down the MAC Address from every device, is there a way to obtain the MAC Address from either the box using the barcode, or maybe an App that loads up on screen and shows the MAC Address of the device in a barcode format that I can then quickly scan into an Excel spreadsheet and import?
I feel that i'm about to waste a lot of time going on to each iPad and obtaining the MAC Address
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jim

If you have the ability to plug them into Apple Configurator, you can connect them with a USB hub and update and supervise them.  This will let you export MAC Addresses and Serial numbers from Configurator to a CSV file that you can use to upload to your wireless controller.  If you need to, be sure to Unsupervise the iPads when you are done.
The info you're looking for may also be available through GSX, but I'm not familiar with everything you can use it for on your end.

  • Macbook pro trying to connect to wrong mac address?

    Hey everyone,
    I'm running on a 2010 Macbook Pro OS X 10.7.2.
Basically, my 309g-m stopped working the other day. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and software, but it still refuses to print (I get stuck at "looking for printer"). I have, however, noticed that when I'm adding a printer in system preferences, the printer is listed as "Photosmart Premium C309g-m [F1EDA7]." However, after connecting my printer to my network (via the printer), the page printed listed that my Hardware Address (MAC) is "78:e7:d1:f1:ed:a8" - So I think my Macbook is trying to connect to the wrong mac address.
    Any ideas?
P.S. I've tried to connect via IP and my computer cannot find the printer.

No, that all looks good.  Your printer's unique "name" is HP plus the last 6 digits of your printer's MAC address.
On the front of the printer: Setup > Network > WIreless Network Test.  What does it say about the printer's wireless radio?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.
    I am employed by HP

  • How to hide or rename the HP Printer's Mac address from Lion Finder Sidebar

I have an HP d100a all in one printer, and since upgrading to OSX 10.7 (Lion), my printer's mac address shows up in the Finder Sidebar under Shared devices. I understand this is for the printers SD card slot to be shared over my network, however the name is not user friendly.
Is there a way to rename what is displayed in the Finder window, from the devices mac address to a friendlier name?
If not, is there a way to disable the sharing of the SD card slot so it is hidden from the sidebar completely?
I have found several posts from people not knowing what this entry is, but I have not managed to find any posts that explain how to rename or hide the entry.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also registered to this forum to inform that the problem with showing the MAC-address in the sidebar of the finder is still not solved.
The strange thing is that the Embedded Web Server says:
"This specifies the Bonjour domain name assigned to the device, in the form <host name>.local. If a user-specified host name has not been assigned, the default host name HPxxxxxx is used, where xxxxxx are the last 6 digits of the LAN hardware (MAC) address. This option cannot be modified."
But I did assign a user-specified host name and that name does show-up everywere (also within Bonjour), except in the sidebar of the finder (hp###xx##x####). Lots of people have the same issue, when searching on the interet, but not one has found the solution.
Please help with solving this issues?

  • MBP stolen - retrieving serial no. or MAC address from apple?

My recently purchased MBP was stolen out of my apt. a few days ago. Unfortunately, they also took the box which had the serial no's on it. I was able to retrieve the purchase reciept from where I bought it (BestBuy), but what I really need is the serial no. and/or the MAC address so the police could hopefully track it down.
My question is, did Apple happen to collect that information on the machine when I did the registration at first startup? I didn't get AppleCare unfortunately, but perhaps that exists somewhere at apple. If so, would anyone happen to know how I could retrieve that info?
    Thanks,
    LS

    Hi lucien,
When you register the machine that information is sent to Apple if you've got a valid network connection to the Internet at the time of registration. From my experience, in dealing with Apple on these requests, they do not disclosure machine specific information like a serial # even if you indicate that you're the owner of the machine.
You can certainly call them for clarification that, but I know a week or so ago another user of this forum was looking for the same information and they indicated that Apple would not disclose that to them.
