Wrong migration key - installation number 00000000

Hi gurus,
Im trying to migrate SAP ERP EHP7 from MaxDB to DB2 database and while import ABAP phase I received error, that migration key is wrong. I was generating key via OSS, but it is always wrong. In log file I see something weird:

Hi Martin,
Have you tried the above note and checked other parts to troubleshoot.
Also, can you check this note that you generated the key correctly.

EP6 SP2 hardware key / installation number

Hi all,
unfortunately the license of an EP6 SP2 has expired and I need to find out what are the hardware key and the installation number of this portal in order to renew the license.
As the admin pwd is lost and the sap* user/pwd combination do not work in order to log on to the portal and retrieve the system information via the system admin tab I am wondering if I can find both (hardware key and inst. no.) in the database or on the filesystem. If yes, where??
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated :)!

One way to enable SAP* is
1. Copy your current sapum.properties.bak to sapum.properties (/usr/sap/XXX/j2ee/cluster/ume)
[ This would only work if this is the original sapum.properties when you initially installed.]
If you copy over the properties from the direct editing
(i.e sapum.properties is in sync with the properties in
the database )tab then set the following properties in the sapum.properties is set.
ume.superadmin.activated=true
2. Restart the server.
Side Effect: You have to redo the UM configuration
Now you can logon as SAP* and get the system information.
Alternative 1:( This may or may not work. I don't have access to the environment or documentation to check out.)
Through Visual Administrator see server license information.
To Access the Admin documentation by the following URL;

Migration key : wrong : while importing

i am importing an export from source system to destination system

its giving error in migration key
it says
" The migration Key you entered is wrong, please enter the right one. If this fails constantly and you if you are sure to used the officially from SAP for this migration ordered key then remember to provide also as evidence the OS Build and DB Build Version information of the log, the Property file of the export and the Return code of the the migration key check from the log. "

Migration Key - How to Open a CSS Message

Hi Team,
We got the discovery system and asked SAP to get us a separate licence for mySAP ERP 2005. We got the CD-DVD's and SAP says that we can generate the licence key from the service marketplace. Now in the installation guide, it is mentioned that we should get the migration key by using CSS and opening a message in CSS Component: CA-SOA-DS. When I go the tab "Report Product Error" in CSS, the table control which displays the systems is still blank. I cannot go to the next step and open a message to request migration key. We really don't want to install the CD-DVD's on a separate server. We just want to get the discovery system up and running and it looks like without the migration key we can't proceed further.
Questions:
1) How do I start a CSS message without the system number getting displayed in the service marketplace. I have the installation number etc with me.
2) Do we have to install and run something else prior to asking for migration key?
Please respond as this is causing problems. Your help will be much appreciated.

I'll try to shine some light on the topic you brought up.
The Discovery System is shipped already pre-installed on the hardware. Thus there are no CD-DVD's that would allow installation on a seperate system. It follows the concept of an appliance.
To license it you need to have a valid license for SAP ERP on MS SQL. This is the installation number you will need to request the license key from Service Marketplace. If you don't have that in place (no license or on different DB) please contact your SAP counterpart.
Following the steps in the Quick Guide (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b22d4e44-0e01-0010-ffa4-fe9c59939e5e) in sequence should guide you through all the necessary activities.

How to import a Migration key in a Portal System.

Hi,
We have a Portal System (Only Java Stack) and we have changed the existing Installation number of the System to a new one in Marketplace. We have received a new License key and Migration Key from SAP. I have imported the License Key in the System using Visual Administrator tool - Licensing Adapter.
Now, i dont know what to do with Migration Key. In the Note 816861, it is only written about ABAP stack systems.

I am doing homogeneous system copy but in middle system show pop of asking migration key. As per sap doc system not ask migration key for homogeneous system copy.my scenario is

If you are performing an Homogeneous System Copy, no migration key is
needed. The migration key is needed ONLY if you are changing your operating
system or your database version, that is, you are doing an Heterogeneous
System Copy.
Please read the installation guide carefully, if you do any pre-steps wrongly..i.e enter wrong parameters...

Java Licensing changing installation number

Hi all,
we have changed contract and moved a Netweaver Java installation into a new server. The license check fails since the hardaware is changed.
I have asked a new license key but it does not work since the system was installed in a different installation number.
Do you know if there is a way to install a new license with a different installation number ?

If you change the hardware, the hardware key changes and you need to apply for a new license. But in the meantime you can use a temp license. SAP note 174911 explains this.
The change in the installation number also implies a change of the license and possibly a migration key for the secure storage of the system, as described in note 816861.

can I create installation number of the source system in my portal then generate migration key from that installation number ?

Since the Old installation number can only be selected from a list of valid installation numbers for your customer number (Old Installation Number: 0120003411 as per step 17 above ) is not a valid choice I can select. How can i generate a valid Migration key for secstore ?

Sorry this has been painful for you. SAP licenses require the installation number delivered with the SAP Discovery System to be replaced by a customer license number.
After you obtain a license key, request a migration key through CSS. Use the following information:
CSS Component: SV-SMB-AIO-BP-XI
Short Text: SAP Discovery System Migration Key
Copy/paste below into message
Please send a migration key ASAP. Here is my info:

Different installation number sent from satellite system

Hi there, I have a strange one. When I create a Support Desk Message in the satellite system, the message is correctly created in Solman Service Desk, but the installation number sent is different than the installation number displayed in SLICENSE (for sat. system). This totally stuffs up my iBase & Partner determination. Any ideas as to why the installation number is being sent wrongly?

Service Desk Issue in SolMan 4.0 - Installation Number differrence

Hi all,
I am in the process of setting up Service Desk in SolMan 4.0. When I create a message in my satellite system, the message is sent successfully and appears in my Solution Manager. However, I have red light appearing. This is because I need to provide Sold-To Party and Reported By Business Partner entries in the support message. My understanding, please correct me if I am wrong, is that these entries can be automatically filled based on iBase information. I have followed the IMG to setup the iBase.
Upon further investigation, I noticed the following problem. My installation number in the satellite should be XXXXXXXXXX, this is reflected in the System Landscape and iBase. But, when I look at the SAP Attributes tab in the Support Message, the installation number is YYYYYYYYYY. I think that this difference is a possible cause of my problem at hand.
This was the problem as there was an entry in table BCOS_CUST with YYYYYYYYYY in the satellite system. Can anyone tell me where this entry came from? Could this be from configuration of Service Desk?

I have assigned the role "SAP_SM_S_USER_GRP" to the user with RFC_READ connection, refreshed the last alert in DSWP and tha is.

"Wrong Sync Key" even though it's right on my laptop

Fired up a new laptop, installed Firefox 3.6.12, and Sync gets stuck at "Wrong Sync Key" when I try to activate Sync. I'm looking at my other laptop's working Sync key as I enter it--I'm entering the CORRECT sync key. I get the same results on the built-in Tools-->Set Up Sync, and by going through the Add-Ons. What gives?

Migration key error

I have a R/3 4.71 system, on AIX 5.1, oracle 9.2.0.3. I bought a new IBM SERVER pP 550. I need to migrate R/3 to this new server. I used system copy to export all data. but when I import it , Migration key always error, why ? I got key from service marketplay . help!

we didn't pay service pay for many years, so SAP can't help us. it always display " the migration key for heterogene systemcopy is wrong ! try again!

Migration Key for Unicode conversion

Hi,
I want to do a unicode conversion off ECC 6.0. The system was upgraded few days back from R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0. Now it is required to convert the system to unicode. So to do the activity do we require Migration Key or any other approval from SAP for them to support us?

If you don't change the platform no migration key is required and no intervention or migration consultant necessary.
Depending on the number of languages/codepages it would probably make sense to get a Basis consultant (maybe remotely will be sufficient) to assist.

Migration Key required

We are going to migrate SAP production server to other same sun solaris system due to hardware failure in existing system. We export all data from old system and import to new system. But when we trying to import, it asking about migration key, When we enter migration key which was get from SAP market place then system is not accepting the migration key. Following are system information :-
OLD SYSTEM:-
OS = sunsolaris 9.2.0
Database = Oracle
machine model = sun solaris V440
New SYSTEM:-

Dear All,
It is late because I was trying all of your concern. See following what happening:
1. When I am trying to leave migration key it is ok and I was go forward for futher steps, but system trying to load export data then it is asking again migration key and message appeared "Invalid Migration Key, Trying again.".
2. I tried that delete all data from oracle directory and but oracle directory is there. and tried reinstall again but again above message is appeared.
3. I thing that I was not tried and please suggest that SAP asking about the type of installation during installtion:
         a. standard installation
         b. system migrate with new database.
         c. system migrate with old database (I am not sure about text).
   I had never tried the standard installation. If I will can I try to export only database from backup and import into new SAP generated database? I dont know standard installation will ask migration key.
