Wrong number of policy violations in Home tab

We deleted manually entries in the mgmt_current_violation table. On the detail tab of policy violations, theses entries are gone. But on the Home tab the number of policy violations is still the old one.
Would be nice if someone can explain this to mee.
best regards
sascha

Andy,
thanks for your reply. To answer your questions
> I'm assuming that read rights have been granted.
in fact read rights have been granted
> For the GWChecks, please confirm that it was a Contents check/fix.
yes, it was
> Do you have regular GWChecks on Contents?
Yes, we do process weekly contents checks every Sunday at 1:00 AM on the PO since we introduced GW in 2002.
Today I found time to check some things out. I retracted the proxy rights on the computer of the affected user and reassigned them. I tried this several times with and without restarting the GW-Client as well as on my computer and on the computer of the affected user.
The next thing I tried was assigning the proxy rights from another PC. I did not just grant read rights but any rights available and was successful: I saw any item in the mailbox and even the mailbox properties told me the number of items. For testing purpose I retracted the proxy rights and reassigned them again as I exactly did before and surprisingly did not succeed. I tried this several times even with reduced (means just read) rights without any success.
Next step was to analyze the rules on the account of the affected user. She has a long rule which finally says that mails received from or sent to special addresses should be marked 'private'.
Finally I reassigned the rights again from another computer I hadn't used before and granted any rights available again. This method again was successful.
The problem is that I don't know why... :-)
Anyway - thanks again and a happy new year!
Regards,
jgoy

  • Wrong paths in WGM Home tab.  How to correct?

    I'm having some trouble with creating home directories on my server. The create button is not working and there are a couple of bad paths in the WGM Home tab. How can I delete these entries in the Home tab and make sure that only valid paths are in there. I am unable to delete a couple, the minus button is greyed out.
    Just to provide a little further info, I had DNS running on this server (I think incorrectly) and one of the paths that I cannot delete is a path listing the server with it's DNS name /Network/Servers/ns.eocserver.local/Users/<user>.
    The path should be /Network/Servers/eocserver.local/Users/<user>. How do I clean up these entries?

    Here's another interesting aspect to my predicament. If I log into terminal, instead of showing:
    eocserver:~ administrator$
    for my terminal prompt i get the following:
    ns:~ admin$
    My server is called "eocserver" and not "ns" and my DNS is now shut down.
    Another curious thing is that now any new accounts that are created load on the client eMacs within a second compared to at least 30 seconds before this all happened. Not sure why that is but that part is awesome. Since the day this server was set up clients have had to wait for at least 30 seconds for their accounts to load on the client machines.
    It's like something went wrong and as a result the login process for clients is way better. This is rather disconcerting and I'd like to clean it up but I don't want the lag to return.

  • Oracle Security : what do you think about the following policy violation ?

    If you install OEM10, you will be able to see if you violate some security guidelines :
    Interresting is revoking UTL_FILE from public, which is critical. Also revoke UTL_TCP and UTL_SMTP. This is going to upset an expert I know...
    Take care about the failed login attempts. If you set it to 10 to the default profile, and if your DBSNMP password is NOT the default password, then Oracle will lock your account after node discovery!
    In Solaris, you can disable execution of the user stack with the system parameters set noexec_user_stack=1
    set noexec_user_stack_log=1. I did not find how to do it on AIX. However, those settings may have side effects.
    About the ports, it complains about open ports, even if this is the port oracle listener is using! Simply ignore most of the violations there.
    About JAccelerator (NCOMP), it is located on the "companion" CD.
    Ok, Waiting for your feedback
    Regards
    Laurent

    Interresting is revoking UTL_FILE from public, which is critical. Also revoke UTL_TCP and UTL_SMTP. This is going to upset an expert I know...Okay, as this is (I think) aimed at me, I'll fall for it ;)
    What is the point of revoking UTL_FILE from PUBLIC? Yes I know what you think the point is, but without rights on an Oracle DIRECTORY being able to execute UTL_FILE is useless. Unless of course you're still using the init.ora parameter
    UTL_FILE_DIR=*which I sincerely hope you're not.
    As for UTL_SMTP and UTL_TCP, I think whether a program is allowed to send e-mail to a given SMTP server is really in the remit of the e-mail adminstrator rather than the DBA.
    Look, DBAs are kings of their realm and can set their own rules. The rest of us have to live with them. A couple of years ago I worked a project where I was not allowed access to the USER_DUMP_DEST directory. So every time I generated a TRC file I had to phone up the DBA and a couple of hours later I got an e-mail with an attachment. Secure yes, but not very productive when I was trying to debug a Row Level Security implementation.
    I have worked on both sides of the DBA/Developer fence and I understand both sides of the argument. I think it is important for developers to document all the privileges necessary to make their app run. Maybe you don't have a better way of doing that than revoking privileges from PUBLIC. Or maybe you just want to generate additional communication with developers. That's fine. I know sometimes even DBAs get lonely.
    Cheers, APC

  • Received" Fair usage policy violation warning" ema...

    I just received an email from [email protected],and the subject was Fair Usage policy violation warning. This is ludicrous!
    Basically the email says that after spying on my account,well they used the term"monitoring" which is ridiculous. they came to the conclusion that I was abusing the fair usage policy.
    Firstly I felt that my personal privacy was violated by being spied on by Skype;
    Secondly , the package I bought was 10000 mins phone to call worldwide, the reason why I purchase this particular package is becoz I was looking for a pair of Valentino lady heels, in order to have a bigger chance in finding them, I would have to call up as many stores as I can. And since this is what the package offers,I don't see what's wrong with me calling all the boutiques and department store branches. What I don't understand is how could calling stores in different locations has been judged as abusing fair usage policy?
    This just became very personal, also I think what Skype did and the email going thru length to explain their suspection is absolutely rude and absurd.
    I demand that Skype should stop violating SKype user's personal privacy and spying on their accounts. There're so many software out there right now,which would probably offer more service and respect for the consumer, and I'm sure Skype will lose more users if they keep on spying on our accounts.
    And I would really love to contact Skype customer service team over phonecall or email, unfortunately I've looked through SKype entire website,and there's no info related to that. If anyone knows how to contact Skype,do share please. I'll really appreciate that.
    Thanks in advance!

    I am using Skype premium Credit which allows me to make calls from my Mobile and Laptop to make unlimited calls to 50 countries. Sometime my wife uses my laptop to make call to my home country as well. Recently she went to Bangladesh and tried calling me from there few times. She came back two weeks ago and now nobody uses it from outside Australia.
    But last week I received the similar emails from Skype like yours but I am not sure what they are identifying as fair use. I have read the fair use policy and I didn't do anything that is contradicting the policy. I have tried to get support related email address from Skype web but failed. Is there anyone who knows any contact info so that we can raise the issue with?
    Another friend of mine was saying that first he received an email from Skype warned him of fair-use violation who is on a 600min per months subscription but hardly use few hundreds min and his service has been terminated temporarily the next day.
    So if someone cal tell us what is going on and why they are doing it.

  • Java Applet in a HTML page: failing with PLS-00306: wrong number of args

    We are trying to use a Java Applet in a HTML page. as our system needs to be able to retrieve a predefined set of data from a third party system that uses Dynamic Data Exchange Protocol (DDE) and are encountering errors from APEX and in IE itself.
    We are using JavaDde from www.nevaobject.com that enables our Java applet to interact with Windows applications (Third Party System) using DDE.
    This functionality is currently used in our Web Form 6i application and we are trying to use the same in the new ApEx application.
    We are using ApEx version : 2.1 and actually aer encountering 2 problems:
    Problem 1: ApEx failing with PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'ACCEPT'
    Problem 2: IE crashes if Applet used in a complex page with several regions (1 Context, 4 Report Regions, 2 level Tabs, Links)
    This problem does not occur in the page where there is only applet and one region. In the case of complex page the IE crashes if the page is reloaded
    Test scenario:
    1- Create a simple page with the HTML region.
    2- Define the Source of the above region as follows
    <OBJECT CLASSID="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
    CODEBASE="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/autodl/jinstall-1_4-windows-i586.cab#version=1,4,0,0"
    WIDTH="1"
    HEIGHT="1"
    ID="simpleApplet"
    NAME="simpleApplet">
    <PARAM NAME="code" VALUE="simpleApplet.class" >
    <PARAM NAME="archive" VALUE="simpleApplet.jar" />
    <PARAM NAME="type" VALUE="application/x-java-applet;version=1.4">
    </OBJECT>
    3- Create a simple Java applet "simpleApplet" - for the test its enough if the applet will have just the init method printing out the mesage to the console
    4- Create a Submit Button (not redirect) in Region Header and create unconditional (do not set When Button Pressed property) Page Branch to navigate to another page (the page without the applet)
    6- Run the page and Submit -
    The error below is returned by the engine:
    In our case our applet is called ddeApplet - I do not know why is ApEx passing the Applet's ID down to the wwv_flow.accept method as a parameter

  • Firefox loads previous session instead of opening new in home tabs

    Using Firefox 21.0 in Windows 8. Everything is set and updated as it should be, but when I open a new browser session it retains all the tabs and history from the previous session. Pressing the home button will open my selected home tabs.

    You can check if you have an user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/user.js_file
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once
    You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
    You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
    Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

    Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Wrong number of type of args to dbms_aq.listen

    Has anyone had trouble with the argument list for dbms_aq.listen. We've just go AQ going, having no trouble with enqueue and dequeue. However, when supplying what SEEM to be the right arg types for LISTEN (a table of aq$_agent, a binary int, and an aq$_agent for out) oracle gives us wrong number of type of arguments for call to
    DBMS_AQ.LISTEN (we're running 8.1.7).
    Sorry I'm at home and code is at work. But, just wondering if anyone else has had trouble with this.
    thanks

    The code would probably look like the following... where my_dequeue is my dequeue
    procedure.
    declare
    agent sys.aq$_agent;
    qlist dbms_aq.aq$_agent_list_t;
    begin
    qlist(1):= sys.aq$_agent(NULL, 'aqlis.qt1_queue1', NULL);
    qlist(2):= sys.aq$_agent(NULL, 'aqlis.qt2_queue4', NULL);
    dbms_output.put_line('Listening on' &#0124; &#0124;
    ' qt1_queue1, qt2_queue4');
    dbms_aq.listen(qlist, 0, agent);
    dbms_output.put_line('Message in Queue :- ' &#0124; &#0124; agent.address);
    my_dequeue(agent.address);
    dbms_output.put_line('');
    end;

  • Exception has occurred during data insertion ... Wrong number of parameters

    I am using an ADO dataflow source and an ADO dataflow destination to move data from a table on an IBM iSeries DB2 database to another IBM iSeries DB2 database on another machine.  The connection managers for source and destination both use .Net Providers\Odbc
    Data Provider with the Data Source Specification being ODBC connections specified on the Windows Server 2008 r2 machine hosting bids.  All the test connections work...so far so good.
    Issue is when I execute the control flow task the rows get picked up from the source DB2 database no problem but it fails on the insert to the destination DB2 table...The progress tab specifies the exceptions...
    [ADO NET Destination [601]] Error: An exception has occurred during data insertion, the message returned from the provider is: ERROR [07002] [IBM][System i Access ODBC Driver]Wrong number of parameters.
    [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED.  The ProcessInput method on component "ADO NET Destination" (601) failed with error code 0xC020844B while processing input "ADO NET Destination Input" (604). The identified
    component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the
    failure.
    I put a data viewer on the data flow connection and the records I expect are  getting picked up and look ok. I checked to make sure the source and destination tables have the same number of columns in their record layout and identical data
    types and they look fine.
    Could someone kindly tell me whats going wrong?  Does the error message indicate that some of the columns are getting dropped from the dataset before the insert?
    Thanks much in advance for any help, Roscoe

    Hi Roscoe,
    Glad to hear that you have found the root cause. So, the issue occurs because numeric values with no decimal cannot be inserted into the Decimal data type column in the DB2 table. In SSIS, data type Decimal of DB2 database is mapped to data type DT_NUMERIC.
    To address the issue, you can do a data conversion for the column in question to define its precision and scale such as DT_NUMERIC(9,2) by using the Data Conversion Transformation before the ADO NET Destination.

  • Unity reporting wrong number of messages

    This is Unity Connection 8.6.2.
    I have a couple of VM boxes with wrong number of messages. Users are getting false indications of messages on their phones as well.
    We rebuilt one these VM boxes and the issue is gone on that extension. Rebooting the server didn't fix it.
    Any idea what would cause this?

    We found that someone changed the Aging Policy for the users set to Do Not Age Messages. This caused the system to keep deleted messages for over 2 years. We set them back to Default System Policy and the number is back to a normal level.

  • Same "wrong number" Call to landland when on Skype

    Hello!  Just had a really weird (and un-nerving) thing happen.
    I use free Skype for Windows, and have for a few years now to talk to friends and family far away.  I was talking with my family via Skype this afternoon and they received a land-line phone call on their regular phone line from someone looking for "the Hilton Hotel."  They were told "sorry, you've got the wrong number" and that was the end of the call.  The phone number for their home is unlisted.
    Not more than a minute later, I received a phone call on my land-line phone and it was basically the same thing!  Someone looking for "the Hilton Hotel."  Needless to say, we were all shocked and didn't know what to make of this.  We immediately ended our Skype conversation, closed Skype on both computers and ran full security scans.
    Anyone ever heard about this happening?  If so, do you have any idea of what if anything we should do, in addition to the full scans?  Thank you so very, very much for any help you can give!

    You can change the number shown in Settings/Phone/My iPhone/
