Wrong photo

If I send a text message to an iphone a photo of my husband comes up instead of me. Can someone tell me how to change this. He has never used my iphone so can't work this one out either.

No he doesn't go on my computer and doesn't have an iphone. Where would I go to change it?

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • Thumbnail shows wrong photo

    Hi, there!
I have 5000 pix in my iPhoto 4 library and have been having trouble with the thumbnails showing the wrong photo. I noticed this first when a thumbnail was very horizontally compressed. . .and when double clicking onto it (to go from "organize" to "edit") it showed a different photo. The title is right and the photo is correct in edit mode, the thumbnail is just wrong. I think maybe a third of my library is currently affected.
I saw that someone posted a similar question a few months ago, and the only answer suggested was to select all the wrong photos and "revert to original" in the photos menu. I can't do this, b/c that option is grayed.
What I've been doing to correct the problem is dragging the photo to my desktop, then when I re-import it, it comes in with the correct thumbnail. (then, I delete the one with the wrong thumbnail.) A tedious way to do it, plus I'm losing some of my info, like the date the photo was shot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Start iPhoto while holding the optioncommandshift keys until you're prompted about rebuilding the iPhoto library database. Click "yes", then the blue button. Go have a pizza while your library is rebuilt.

  • Syncing Wrong Photos/Pictures

I have an iPhone 3GS with FW 3.1.3 and Windows XP operating system and everytime I try and sync lately, I get the wrong photos/pictures that come up with podcasts and videos.
I have 2 videos on my iPhone and in iTunes it shows the correct picture under TV shows, I also have 30 podcasts from the same source and the photo shown under podcasts in iTunes is correct but when I sync, 20 of them have album art from somewhere else. I have tried numerous syncs, have tried to uninstall iTunes 9 and reinstall it but it never seems to work properly.
I also have a movie that the same problem occurs to when I sync.
Any suggestions, thank you very much.
    DJ

I have had the same problem with my 3GS and Windows 7. The wrong cover art sync happens haphazardly and changes.

  • Does anyone elses iphoto thumbnails show the wrong photos in album ?

This is a relatively new problem i am having.... when i open an album and the zoom is over c.20% or you change the zoom the thumbnails show the wrong photo. when you open to edit, the correct photo opens. This is veeeerrrry annoying. can anyone shed any light on this ?

    Hi slipstream1,
I don't know why that started happening for you.
    Try this:
    Close iPhoto
Navigate to where you have the iPhoto Library on your hard drive
Drag the three thumbnail files found loose in the root of the Library folder to the desktop
Hold down the Command and Option keys while launching iPhoto until you get the rebuild window
Choose the options to rebuild the thumbnails
Hopefully this will fix it for you.

  • Wrong photo opens?

When I try to open a photo which is in a file folder (not iPhoto) the wrong photo opens. Instead of the one I'm trying to open, the photo next to it in the folder opens. Same thing when I drag that photo to the desktop. The one I'm dragging doesn't end up on the desktop. The one next to it does. What gives?

    Hi scallywak,
    Try this:
    Close iPhoto
Navigate to the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder
Drag the Data folder and the three thumbnail files in the library folder to the desktop.
Launch iPhoto holding down the Command and Option keys until you see the rebuild screen.
    Check all the thumbnail options.
Let iPhoto rebuild the library and hopefully all will be well when done.

  • Wrong photo gets flagged

I have a weird problem with the wrong photo(s) often getting flagged for rejection in the Ligthroom3 Beta. Here's one way to make it happen:
    1. In grid view select a number of photos, say 6
    2. Switch to survey view
    3. Flag all but 2 for rejection and click the little X box in the bottom right corner of the images to deselect them
    4. Switch to Compare mode to compare the final 2 images. For this example, let's say images #3 and #6 are still unflagged and selected
    5. Flag one of the images for rejection. Let's say you flag image #3.
    6. Switch back to grid view
I would expect that photo #6 would not be flagged, and the rest would be flagged. Instead, all but image #3 are flagged.
I've also had the wrong photo get flagged when I still had multiple images in survey view, but I'm not sure what sequence of operations produces that behavior.
Is there something wrong with the way I'm trying to use flags?

  • Wrong photo displaying for sender of iMessage

Wrong photo displaying for sender of iMessage .Contact information says another contact is "ME,"  it says ME next to anther contact, but it is not me. They are not signed in in icloud. I am signed in. So I do not understand

As per my post above, I believe the fix to be:
"When I got to General, I worked my way down the list and imagine my surprise when I found Siri of all things had her name down against it and not mine.  Lo and Behold, when I changed this to my name and returned to iMessage, my photo now displayed against my replies.
So, if you have someone else's photo showing on your iMessage replies I strongly recommend you look at Settings > General > Siri first!"
    Hope this helps Roger.

  • When I try to open a photo, the wrong photo comes up!

I added some pictures to Iphoto 6 & the program asked me to reindex, so I clicked OK. Now everything is all mixed up. The wrong photo opens when I try to open one up. Also, my thumnails looks strange - some are squished (for lack of a better term). Is there anything I can do to get them back in order & reindexed properly? I have over 4000 photos. Is this just too much? I'm afraid to upgrade to Iphoto 8 until this indexing problem (if that's what it is) is resolved. Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Wrong photos

    Hi all,
I've recently upgraded from an old G5 to a MacPro, and iphoto is playing up. Initially the library seemed to be corrupted, so I restored from a back up. Now there are many photos that have been replaced with the wrong photo: so in the middle of a sequence of wedding shots, I get a whole load of landscapes from a different year. It appears a random error. Showing the titles for the photos shows that the "wrong" photos are labelled correctly - in other words, the label is for the photo that should be there. Any ideas?
    J

That's a classic case of a corrupted database, and as it's from a back up it's not much use going with my next suggestion, which is to restore from back up.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • IMovie projects displaying wrong photos

After upgrading to iMovie 09, my old projects that were "in the works" now display the wrong photos. When I preview the movie, it has the right photos. I don't understand. Even the movies that were finished and put into iDVD now show the wrong photos in the Project window.

I am having the exact same problem. I can't seem to find a workaround, even duplicating the project file gave me the same issue. My best solution is you can make a separate project, drag the photos you want to show into there (with any transitions or effects you want) and then export that project as a separate QuickTime file. Then reimport that newly created movie and it will work because iMovie is reading your "photos" as a movie file now. I did this and it worked for me, even though I admit it's a pain. But at least I didn't have to start my project all over again. Good luck!

  • IDVD - Wrong photos selected

Has anyone else ran into an issue with the new iDVD that displays the incorrect photo inside of a sideshow? The picture is correct in iPhoto and the media preview screen but when I drag it into the iDVD slideshow, it displays the wrong photo.
The new version seems to be extremely buggy. I tried to create an iDVD project of several slideshows and found what appears to be a lot of defects. I should have created the slideshows in iPhoto and imported them into iDVD.
    Anyone seeing the same issues?

Just to show a reaction and answer your question - No, I havn't experienced this issue. So all I can suggest are some standards ...
    ... deleted the plist-file
... what about drag'n'drop the pics directly from iPhoto into iDVD?
    ... reinstall iDVD

  • The photos associated with contacts are the wrong photo

When I receive any email from a person listed in my contacts (Address Book) it is usually the wrong photo. I have tried "resetting" contacts

You weren't the only one that wanted the full screen photos back. There were a lot of complaints and they are back in iOS 8 but that doesn't help you with iOS 7.1.2 unfortunately.

  • Wrong photo in album

    Two questions, please...
I'm presenting a slide show tomorrow using iPhoto 4. I created an album of some 100 images. All the thumbnails are correct and in the right order. Yet when I play the slide show, two images are different than the thumbnails! (I know where they are from. They come from another album)
I then deleted these two thumbnails and replaced them with two new thumbnails. When I play the Slide Show, same thing happens. The two wrong images show up that are not in the thumbnails! What gives?
Also, a few images are vertical/portrait format. When I play the slide show, SOME come into full view on the screen. Yet some are only partial view. How to show the image in its entirety?

    V
When the file doesn't match the thumb it suggests library corruption. This will explain how to rebuild your library:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107947
As far as portrait display. With iPhoto it works best to crop the photo to a landcape format yourself if you want to control how it looks on the screen.

  • Thumbnails acting up, wrong photo and partials

I'm having a problem. Last night I plugged my iPod nano for the first time and imported one photo album to it via iTunes.
Today, I went in to open the iPhoto and it misplaced the thumbnails. When the thumbnail is double clicked it displays another picture, not the one on the thumbnail. It looks like the thumbnails just lost their chronological order, but the pictures under the wrong thumbnails still appear to be in order.
I tried Shift-option when starting iPhoto but that does not change anything. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
    How to fix this? Thanks

I just ordered a Nano and expect to get it my next Wed so I'm interested in your plight. Make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library folder first thing. Then launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options, the two thumbnail and database options. See if that won't clean up the situation.
Do you know what size image files get copied over to the Nano? Are the the full size or do they get reduced. If they are the full size then I'm going to look into exporting to a folder on the desktop, resizing and us iTunes to manually select that folder for uploading. Since I only want to display them on the Nano the size won't matter to me. That should give me more song room.
I'll be anxious to hear how it went.
