Wrong recognition of mail addresses - automatic replacement

Hello
I am using frequently the automatic regognition of URLs and Emails in Pages. Normaly it works fine, but if I type (or paste) an email address that ends with web.de, then only the domain part is recognized as an URL but not the complete address as an email address. Example: [email protected] works fine. But for [email protected] Pages only substitutes web.de as a hyperlink!
Any suggestions?

yes, I can reproduce your problem.
The web.de part of the e-mail address becomes a hyperlink to a web page instead of hyperlink to an e-mail address.
Go to Hyperlink inspector on Hyperlink tab to check this behavior.
You can change the target from "Web-Seite" to "E-Mail-Nachricht" and manually correct the "An:" and "Anzeigen:" fields.
If you enter your e-mail addresses with a "wrong" extension (e.g. [email protected]) then the complete expression is marked as hyperlink to an e-mail address but you still have to correct the e-mail address in Hyperlink inspector. Try which way suits you better.
Anyway, it seems to be a bug in the automatic recognition of e-mail addresses. You should file a bug report at Apple's feedback page.

An email address can only be used one account at a time, so if you want to replace it with an email address that is currently being used on another account then you will need to remove it from that account first before trying to put it on that account. You should be able to change the email address either by logging into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, or via http://appleid.apple.com

There are preferences to change the css of the emails that display[http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=375991] that has the underline option pref, and the file name where the css is stored. Maybe just add font-color:blue;

I originally typed the wrong e-mail address on my iPad by one letter. I changed it back on my apple account to the correct one but when I try to load apps on my iPad the wrong address appears therefore there is no password recognition.

I tried what you suggested. It did not work, but I discovered something else. In the XML file to be bursted, the ampersand character was already replaced by "& a m p ;", so that was the problem.
The XML file was produced by Oracle Reports, and evidently it replaces the ampersand with the XML code "& a m p ;" when I set the output to XML.
I guess it must be like this, because an ampersand by itself inside the e-mail address inside an XML file would make the XML file invalid.
But how do I get the bursting engine to convert "& a m p ;" to a real ampersand before sending the e-mail address to the mail server during bursting, then?

First, you're not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. The only people who will respond are fellow users and there's nothing we can do directly with this problem.
But I can tell you that if you redeemed the card through the wrong iTunes Store ID, then sorry, but there's no way to transfer credit from one account to another. You'll have to use the iTunes Store ID under which you redeemed the card to make your purchases. You would not have been able to redeem the card through another account unless you had the password to that account, though, so you may not have actually successfully redeemed the card. Have you tried to redeem it through your "real" iTunes Store account?

If you are talking about your Apple ID - go to Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the incorrect ID and sign out. Then sign in with the correct ID.

This is most likely caused by an iCloud sign up (which forces you to use an email address as Apple ID).

Automatically? Really?? All addresses of all senders just sucked into the address book, spammers, advertisers and all?
Where an address appears in the panel above the message text, there is a star alongside it. Click this star to add the address to your Address Book. Once you have done that, you can click the star again to edit the address book entry.
Note that if the star is empty/grey (silver?) the contact is unknown. If the star is filled/yellow (gold?), the Contact is already in your address book. (This is very like the way bookmarks are managed in Firefox.)
If you really want all senders' addresses entered indiscriminately into your address book, this add-on may be of interest.

Typed in Wrong e-mail address and created another Apple ID

I'm gonna cry.
I've been trying to set up iCloud with a iPhone 4 that I just upgraded to the new OS.
Unfortunately, when I set it up, I accidently typed in a wrong Apple ID (I typed ***@ail.com instead of ***.aol.com) and it created a new Apple ID and now when I try to access iCloud from my phone it tells me I need to verify my account and the e-mail address cannot be verified. I found out that I had two Apple ID's and somehow even my credit card info was transferred over to the new ID. I finally got my old/existing/correct Apple ID set up with credit card info, but for some reason iCloud won't logon to the old/existing/correct ***.aol.com ID.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I just posted a similar problem.
I wrongly keyed in my e-mail address as [email protected] when it should have been [email protected]
I re-explored the iphone just now. If iCloud itself, pls scroll all the way down.
It will prompt you to delete this account. Ple delete.
It will the prompt you:
Deleting this account will delete all data associated with iCloud. Press delete since you have no date to lose to begin with.
After you deleted everything, you will be able to key in your new apple ID with the correct e-mail address.
