Wrong selection of number of processor in advanced boot option. system became dead slow.

hello sir,
i have acer aspire v3-571g laptop with windows 8.1 x64 based OS. Processor is Intel Core i5.
To get a faster booting, i selected 2 processor instead of 1 in advanced boot option (msconfig) by mistake and now my laptop become dead slow on booting and startup.
I am in a big headache now...
Please help a hand to solve this issue...
Thank you..

Nishaf
Cross posted on Microsoft community.  Like I told you there go back into msconfig and select one processor.  I dont suspect that either change is responsible for the slowness.  Did you do anything else?

  • Missing "Repair Computer" in Advanced Boot Options - Satellite A300

My new Satellite A300 will not load and I didn't have a chance to make a recovery CD.
I have made a backup of the Hard drive and now want to restore the settings back to the beginning.
I tried downloading a Vista recovery disc but the laptop won't boot from that.
Pressing F8 after turning it on doesn't give me the option to repair the computer and pressing zero on start up doesn't make any difference.
Is there a way of telling the computer to look at the partitioned section of the Hard drive and boot from there?
    Help is much appreciated

Repair my Computer option in Advanced Boot option will be shown if your notebook is installed with recovery image. You can install your own Vista and copy HDDRecovery folder back but this option in advanced boot option will be gone and you will not be able to install OS using this option because it will not exist anymore.
    There is nothing to do.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 - Safe mode not listed in Advanced boot options

    HI all,
After a bad driver installation, the server got the blue screen issue.
I tried to access the safe mode and make a restore, but unfortunately the safe mode is not listed in the advanced boot options.
The only options available pressing F8 at boot are :
    Repair
    Normal mode
    Am I missing something ?
Is there a way to launch the safe mode from the console (accessible from repair mode) ?
Is there a way to restore from the console ?
Thanks for your help, for now I am really stucked...

    Hi again
Problem solved, I document the solution for others :
open a console from repair mode
search the real system drive, instead of the X: default of the console
    inn my case D:
    cd Windows/system32
    SystemHardwareProperties
    Advanced options
    start and recovery
tick the 'show os list' with 30 sec timer
    close and reboot
when the system list appears, press F8 on wanted os
Then complete Advanced Boot Options menu appears, including safe mode
    That saved my customer's server
    Hope that helps...

  • Qosmio F60 - existing advanced boot options after new OS installation

    Hello
I am asking about advanced boot option when pressing F8 after restarting the computer will be more exist if I have changed the operating system which originally came with my laptop Qosmio F60 ''win7'' to win 8.1 for example

The advanced boot menu which was part of the in Windows 7 system isnt available in Windows 8/8.1 system.
Microsoft changed the Windows system architecture in the new Win 8/8.1 and this menu has been replaced.
Usually if the Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 would not boot up properly, the system tries to fix the issue automatically. If the system will not be able to fix the issue automatically, the troubleshooting menu would appear.
If you want to access this menu manually, you have to do this within the system:
You have to open charm bar (win key + C) then Settings -> Change PC settings -> Update and recovery -> Recovery -> Advanced startup -> Restart now

System checks the current number range and posts document based on it. in your case you have created number range in March for next year and for 2009 document, system will take that number range.
For 2009 document system will take 2009 number range

    HI @orianpax360
I see that you accidentally switched the processor to 1 in the bios and saved the changes.  Now your notebook is very sluggish and will do an auto shutdown.
    Would you please try this.
    Go back to the bios.
Along the bottom you will see an option to restore defaults.  Please select that and save your changes.

  • Satellite A300-177 advanced boot optoins

I am trying to reastore teh pre -installed software on my computer.
I've started the computer and pressed F8 to get into the Advanced Boot options but there is no "Repair your computer" line in the menus.
I've done it 10 times. It's just not there.
I have also restarted the computer holding down hte 0(zero) key to bring up menus. There are three suggestions made one of which is select the "repair your computer " line from teh menu - but again - it's not there.
Is my machine running something wrong?
Does anyone know another way of getting the HDD Recovery software to run?
It is there in it's own partition. But I can't get it to work.
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi
    Just one question;
Did you get a recovery disk?
If not then this would mean that an recovery files were stored on the HDD and the recovery HDD should be available.
But it looks like the HDD partition or the HDD recovery option is not there and not available that strange
Did you change something on the HDD or did you delete or erase any files from HDD?
In my opinion something has been changed on the HDD and therefore the option Repair my Computer is not available.
Well, in such case you have to use the recovery disk
If you didnt create one, then you could order it from here:

  • How to Display "Advanced Startup Options" Menu during Boot (NOT Restart)

How do I get to the "Advanced Boot Options" menu when booting WSE2012? I currently cannot boot from the system drive, the installation DVD or a bootable USB installation drive since the September 19 Microsoft updates were installed. I cannot
do a "restart" to get there since I cannot get into WSE2012 at all in the first place. No matter how I boot the system, I can never get past the "logo/progress circle" screen. I want to restore a system backup from before September
19 but cannot figure out how to do it since I cannot get to the "Advanced Boot Options" screen. I searched through my ASUS UEFI BIOS for an option to restart with the advanced menu displayed but could NOT find any setting for this. I am totally lost.
How can I do a system restore (i.e., recovery)? Please HELP!
    Denis W. Repke

I've pretty sure I read that Microsoft removed the "F8" feature in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. In any case, I did try "F8" a couple of times on WSE2012, pressing and releasing it numerous times during the boot process, starting well before Windows
started to load -- and it did NOT do anything.
I also was amazed that the system would not boot from the WSE2012 installation disk from either of my DVD drives nor from a bootable USB drive containing the install files. Until this incident, I never had a problem booting from a "bootable" DVD or
USB drive on that server. It is also very easy to bring up the "Boot Menu" from my ASUS UEFI BIOS during the boot from which I can select precisely what boot device I want to use.
As I explained in detail in my earlier post on this forum, the only way I was able to get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen was by swapping SATA ports for my system disk which "somehow" caused the next boot to automatically start "Auto-Recovery" mode
which finally allowed me to get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen and recover the system files from an earlier date. After doing this, the system rebooted without issues. After booting, I ran a set of backups after using Windows Update. Then, I powered
down,"unswapped" the SATA ports and rebooted. No problems.
This was all very weird and frustrating. I still cannot believe that there is apparently no way to "directly" get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen during a hard boot. If there was, recovery would have been simple instead of several days of frustration
    with a "dead" home server.

  • How to get the number of processor license

How many processor of license for oracle i have. I think its 48. Can you confirm me in this regards
    regards
    Nick

You have 24 physical CPUs, each of which have 2 cores, thus giving you 48 cores, correct? If so, in order to license that server today, you would need either 48*0.25 = 12, 48*0.5=24, or 48*0.75=36 processor licenses depending on the type of CPUs you use.
However, when you licensed the software in the past, though, the licensing terms were fixed as of that point in time. It is entirely possible that
    - Oracle was using different logic to calculate the number of required processor licenses for multi-core CPUs today than it was in the past and you only needed 1 processor license for every 6 cores
    - Your company negotiated a different core multiplier than is or was in the standard licensing agreement
    - Your company negotiated some other sort of exception that allowed them to buy just 8 processor licenses
So you would need to read through the specifics of your license agreement to determine what, specifically, your company agreed to in order to determine whether you have enough licenses. If you are short some licenses, you would also need to read the agreement to determine how you go about rectifying that (i.e. can you purchase additional processor licenses under the original terms or do you have to add licenses under the current license terms, etc). Of course, I'm sure your Oracle Sales rep would be more than happy to assist you in determining whether you need to purchase additional licenses.

  • Counting number of processor?

    Hello
Can I count number of CPU using java? Is there any library which has this ability? Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards,
    Tinnapat C.

In the forthcoming version of J2SDK 1.5 there will be a package named java.lang.management, and an interface called OperatingSystemMXBean. One of its methods returns the number of CPUs available to the instance of the JVM running.
It depends on the processor count reported by the operating system. If you have a Pentium 4 with hyperthreading enabled your operating system reports 2 "logical" CPUs although you know that you have just only a physical CPU chip in your machine. As I haven't tested the "getAvailableProcessors" method in a HT machine I can't say exactly the result, if the getAvailableProcessors returns the number of logical CPUs or physical CPUs.
(Obviously if you have a machine with 32 CPUs but you're running in a "domain" or a "virtual machine" that do not expose all CPUs to your process, or if some of the CPUs are disabled (it's a common fact among IBM server machines - the CPU chips are physically present, but don't work - just pay for the additional CPUs and they will unlock them), the JVM will report a smaller number. It depends in the hardware.)
public interface OperatingSystemMXBeanThe management interface for the operating system on which the Java virtual machine is running.
A Java virtual machine has a single instance of the implementation class of this interface. This instance implementing this interface is an MXBean that can be obtained by calling the ManagementFactory.getOperatingSystemMXBean() method or from the platform MBeanServer method.
    int getAvailableProcessors()
Returns the number of processors available to the Java virtual machine.

  • ProfitCenter ALE document (PRCDOC) contains wrong PST element number

    Hi CO experts!
We use CATS in out HR system, and we want to transfer CO documents from this system to our ERP system.
I configured the CO ALE model and set that we use decentralized profit center accounting. ( views: V_TKA01_ALE
    V_TKA01_PCA_ALE)
All of our cost center, PST element, order number syncronize with  ALE from ERP to HR.
And of course the PST has different ID in ERP system and in our HR system.
Everything is fine, when I use the CAT7 transaction in HR, the CO document (CODCMT) and the ProfitCenter (PRCDOC) document has transfer with IDOC to ERP.
The only problem is, that when the IDOC arrived in our ERP system, and the profit center document created, it has wrong PST element number. It contains the HR PST element number which is different from the ERP PST element number.
But the CO document has good PST element.
I see all of the 2 idocs data record: CODCMT and PRCDOC has HR PST element ID too. But when CO document created, maybe there is a conversion, that convert the HR PST ID to the ERP PST ID. But at profit center doc, there is no conversion.
Maybe I miss some customizing on HR system, and it is possible to send the original ERP PST element ID in PRCDOC idoc?
    Thanks for your answers!
    Peter

    Solved.
We have to enhance : MAP2E_GLPCA_TO_BAPIPCADOC
    DATA: waprps LIKE prps._
SELECT SINGLE * FROM prps INTO waprps WHERE ( PSPNR EQ GLPCA-PS_PSP_PNR )._
    MOVE waprps-pspnr_logs_
      TO BAPIPCADOC-WBSELEM._
So it send the correct PST number.

    Hi Kumar,
The table in which the challans are stored is J_1IEWTCHLN. The field name for the Bank Challan number is J_1IEXTCHLN(I am not sure). You can change the entry directly in the table itself with the help of an ABAPer.
