Wrong speech agent selected

Hi all,
I feel sort of stupid posting this, but here goes. In
converting text to speech, I accidentally selected the "don't show
this again" box in the speech agent selection dialog box. Only
problem is, it was pointed to Kate, and I prefer Paul.
Now the only way I see to change it is to go to Audio >
Speech Management and change it slide by slide.
Is there a way to change my 'default' speech agent to Paul,
since it now doesn't show me the selection dialog box when I
convert text to speech?

Hi Melissa
Perhaps try looking in this location:
Click Edit > Preferences... > Global node > General
Settings node and click the Confirmation messages... button.
See if the check box in the lower left corner labeled "Speech
selection" has been cleared. If so, click it and dismiss the
dialogs.
Hopefully that will bring back the choice.

Please try it like this. I'm pretty sure that you can not format your inner join with multiple where clauses.

CP 6 Neospeech and Loquendo Speech agents

Hi All,
I recently updated to CP 6.0.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the updated text to speech agents for NeoSpeech and Loquendo that work with CP 6?
I currently have 5.5 installed.
I've looked everywhere but I can't find it.

Captivate 6 does not have Loquendo Voices. It has Neo Speech, you can download the voices from here --

How to display list in Agent Selection Screen?

Hi,
I am using DISPATCH method in Agent Selection screen ( obj. type WF_TASK ).
In description it says that this method could display a list of users but
in reality it displays only one item.
If anyone was able to display a list would you share how to do it?

I think you will need to give more information. What does your binding look like, what are the possible agents for the task you give in the binding? This last one if you get a list or search functionality.

Third-party TTS voice appears in Speech Agent list, but Sam ends up reading

I'm trying to use a trial version of Ivona voices to generate text-to-speech in CP5, to test the capability. The Ivona speech agents show up in the Captivate voices list, but when you generate the text-to-speech, Microsoft Sam ends up being the voice. Is there an extra step I'm missing? I was able to get this to work with the trial version of Cepstral voices, but I'm having a problem with both Ivona and Loquendo voices. Has anyone gotten this to work, and if so, what are the missing steps?
I should mention that the Loquendo and Neospeech voices that are included with Captivate work just fine. Also, this is a purchased version of Captivate 5.

I have just tried the trail version of IVONA voices with Adobe Captivate 6 (on Windows 7) and I have the issue as reported by joebor1776.
Adobe Captivate sees the installed IVONA voices and it allows me to assign a different voice to each sentence. Unfortunately the audio generation fails to use the assigned voices, it uses the voice that is set as the Windows default voice (Windows 7 » Control Panel » Speech Recognition » Test To speech). This means you can't create a dialog between two or more persons.
Does anybody have a solution for that?

I have sent an email to Ivona to see if they have a solution, but did not receive a reply yet. In the meantime I did some more research and found that http://www.cereproc.com voices are compatible with Captivate 6.

Speech Agent - Static behind voices after applying update today

I'm using Captivate version 4.0.1 bld 1658. Last week I used Paul for my speech agent and he had a mild robotic tin-canny sound behind his voice, which is fine. Today I applied an update (help --> updates) to address not being able to hear the audio when previewing only one slide. After updating, both Paul and Kate now have static in their voices. I listened to audio I created last week, I still hear tin can background. I import the same audio into a new project created today, static. Recompile audio in previous project, static behind the voice. When listening to the video with headphones, the static is very disturbing.
What can I do to fix the speech agent voices? Can the encoding settings be modified for text to speech?

Silly question. Did you try converting Text to Speech after you updated so that the speech was re-created?

Loquendo Speech Agents

Hi, I'm creating my first captivate 5 projects for use with a Robohelp 9 Help File using Loquendo English Speech Agent - Simon. I have experimented with pronunciation by typing text in different formats in the slide notes, this seems a lot of work and duplication. I seem to have read somewhere (probably incorrectly) that if I update the User dictionary for Kate this will be used be all the speech agents? If so this doesn't seem to work - is there a way to update the dictionary for Loquendo Speech Agents? Huge thanks to anyone who can help.

How to install speech Agents with Captivate 7?

Hi,
I am using Captivate 7 (32bit version for Windows), which only provides a single default speech agent. A link on the Speech Management screen enables you to download and install Neospeech voices.
I downloaded the file Cp7_win32_voices_installer.zip, extracted the files and then ran the set-up application. However, no additional speech agents are available in the Speech Management screen. What is the problem? I have tried rebooting my machine, but that has not helped. Any suggestions?

Hi there
You might want to perform a double-check here. I'm not sure about this version, but in earlier versions, once you "downloaded and installed", all you really did was to extract the installer application to a folder. There was another step. Locating that folder and performing the actual installation.
So look at the folder and see if there isn't something like a "setup.exe" or similar that you need to run!

ESS Leave request - Agent selection @ &Agent_0001.Agents&

Hi,
when i apply a leave request from ESS it triggers workflow WS12300111. In the agent selection of the task TS12300097 use the expression &Agent_0001.Agents& to send the work item to UWL. I just want to know where this container is populated from.
The container BOR of AAGENT has &Agent_0001.Agents& to send the workitem.
Please clarify.

Ok. I will try to clarify it. Try the following,
Goto PFTC -> Choose "Workflow Template" from the drop down -> Enter the workflow template id "12300111" in the text box -> now click on "change" button -> Now goto the menu addional data -> agent assignment -> maintain -> select the task text -> and set it as general task.
I guess you have done the same for the standard task TS12300097 but failed to do it for the workflow template (WS12300111). Or have you done it already?
I hope this shud be the problem as you have problem in initiating the workflow and not while approving the workflow.
Also once you make this change "Refresh your buffers" once before checking it out.

Ad-hoc agent selection

Our purchase req release workflow requires the creator to select the approver, ad-hoc agent selection seems to be the obvious option. I had a go using the 'Ad hoc: Include 'Select Editor' wizard, but it didn't work as hoped.
Could someone please take me through the major steps I should take using this function?

No Agents selected

Hello All,
I have a Decision task in my workflow, for that decision task agent, i have s container field "Agent" and i am mentioning it through expression.
Now i am triggering the workflow through 'SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW' and setting the agent value through 'INPUT_CONRAINER'.
But when i check for the agents for this decision task, it is saying 'No Agents selected'.
Please help.

Hello,
Probably the field that you added in the Workflow container is empty and does not contain any value. Make sure that the binding is generated properly from the Workflow container to the decision task. Also, ensure that the Import / Export checkbox is checked in the properties of the Agent container element.

Wrong results from "Select count(*) from tbl"

I am the user of an Oracle DB and I am getting what
look like wrong counts using "Select count(*)" statments.
It first occurred when I tried to get monthly record counts with
Select count(*), month
from tbl
group by month
(Note this is the query I used with the exception
of a change in the table name. The month field is numeric)
All the monthly counts but one looked like it was 2x what it should be.
Oddly enough if I tried
Select count(*), month
from tbl
where month = 200302
group by month
OR
Select count(*), month
from tbl
where month in (200301 200302)
group by month
I got what looked correct.
I even got the 2X problem when I asked for a count on
the entire table using
Select count(*)
from tbl
One of our DBAs suggested the problem has somehting to do with
the indexes and not running analyze on the table recently.
I'll note also that the table is partitioned.
I think it's Oracle version 8.1.7.4.0 running on a Sun box.
Has anyone seen this before or does anyone have any
suggestions on the cause of the problem?
I have been told it has to do with indexes
and I know there are many indexes on this table.
The table is also partitioned.

Agent selection question

Hi,
when I use wizard to create an Agent selection dialog it asking for Task ID. This task should be with the program that has GUI.
What if I need to create agent selection screen to select an agent for the step without the task
( Yes, No selection step for example ).
I tried to use Dispatch function from WF_TASK in custom TS but it doesn't popup.
May be there is FM that can display my custom list and return selected item?
Any advise will be appreciated.

I have Yes/No selection task. I need to assign an agent to whom this Yes/No selection task will go.
When I use Wizard to insert Agent Selection screen it creates activity step which screwing up
my work flow. I need to jump to Yes/No selection task not to activity step created by wizard.
If i delete that activity step Agent Selection screen stops working.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
